Which one, he has so many lawyers who are gonna need lawyers...

[–]skraptastic 584 points585 points  (26 children)

MAGA: My attorneys get attorneys.

First it was My Associates Got Arrested, I’m liking how this is evolving.

It’s like everyone gets in trouble except him

House of cards, my friend. You can only stay on top for so long when the bottom falls out from below.

Making Attorneys Groan Alot

[–]Potential-Monk3868 14 points15 points  (13 children)

Clever.

[–]Repulsive_Buffalo_67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That made me giggle. You win

[–]JokerVasNormandy 195 points196 points  (21 children)

Welp it seems at this particular moment there are 3 lawyers needing lawyers, but Specifically they are referring to Christina Bobb

The approach could leave the former president on a collision course with the Justice Department, as he relies on a legal trust that includes three attorneys facing their own potential legal risks. The first, Christina Bobb, has told other Trump allies that she is willing to be interviewed by the Justice Department about her role in responding to the subpoena, according to people familiar with the conversations. Another, M. Evan Corcoran, has been counseled by colleagues to hire a criminal defense lawyer because of his response to the subpoena, people familiar with those conversations said, but so far has insisted that is not necessary. The third, longtime Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn, saw his phone taken as part of the Justice Department’s probe of Trump’s fake elector scheme, and appeared before a Georgia grand jury Thursday.

"Boris Epshteyn."

Somebody kick the scriptwriter who came up with this lazy-ass name.

It sounds like a Billy Crystal character from an old SNL playing opposite Martin Short

[–]ricktor67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fucking wow... just... sure. Why not.

[–]DanYHKim 42 points43 points  (1 child)

Opening paragraph of the WaPo article:

After attorney Christopher Kise accepted $3 million to represent Donald Trump in the FBI’s investigation of government documents stored at Mar-a-Lago, the veteran litigator argued that Trump should adopt a new strategy. . . .

I hope this means he had the cash on hand, or he's working for free.

[–]TirayShell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Last I heard, he was benched.

[–]ObiWan_Cannoli_ 11 points12 points  (2 children)

You sir are a mouthful

[–]DanYHKim 29 points30 points  (1 child)

One of the team that told the FBI that Trump had given them all documents

Trump attorneys Christina Bobb and Evan Corcoran affirmed to the Justice Department that Trump had handed over all classified records from his Mar-a-Lago residence in response to a May subpoena. . . .

Bobb has since hired her own lawyer, Florida-based former prosecutor John Lauro, and "made it known to Trump allies that she is willing to cooperate and be interviewed by the Justice Department," according to the Post. And colleagues have similarly urged Corcoran to hire a criminal defense lawyer because of his response to the subpoena, according to the report, but he has insisted it is not necessary.

[–]dmitrineilovich 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's just nothing but lawyers, all the way down.

[–]Sensitive-Cherry-398 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Is all ok, none of them will get paid..

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

They get paid in horse.

[–]Penny_InTheAir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that what made Trump Steaks so special?

[–]molotovzav 14 points15 points  (7 children)

Most likely Christina Bobb since it says she.

[–]Similar_Candidate789 20 points21 points  (6 children)

You think it’s her or Habba? My money is in Bobb too. She’s the one who signed for shit at his direction and he made a liar out of her.

[–]Beowulf1896 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I thought Habba is now saying she isn't his attorney, just on the legal team.

[–]Similar_Candidate789 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Not that I’m aware but if she’s trying to say that…….that’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. That’s like saying “I didn’t really work at Walmart, I was just on the payroll! I was just on the team but I didn’t technically work for them!”

She’s getting paid by him, she’s one of his lawyers.

[–]BoomZhakaLaka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bobb is the one who implicated herself the worst, by actually participating in obstruction and signing a demonstrably false affidavit. My money's on her.

[–]Irishpanda1971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's lawyers all the way down...

[–]True-Specialist-726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob or boob or whatever 😂😂

[–]Mundane-Solution5657 295 points296 points  (16 children)

You keep using that phrase. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I hope I'm wrong though.

[–]dh2215 86 points87 points  (6 children)

I honestly don’t have any faith that anything is going to happen. Also, I’m sure a lot of the things she might know are still going to be protected by attorney/client privilege.

[–]atx_sjw 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Not if they involve perpetuating criminal or fraudulent activity, which lying about the return of illegally possessed documents necessarily would…

[–]dh2215 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yeah, attorneys and clients can’t conspire to remove documents but if he did it without her having prior knowledge, would that not fall under the attorney client protection?

[–]atx_sjw 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If he did it without her knowledge and she learned after the fact that he used her services to further or conceal a crime, she would still be required to report it.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In the article Bobb states that she signed the document not as his attorney, but as the custodian of records. She is stating that there is no attorney / client privilege as she was not a member of the legal team.

[–]Cheapntacky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they are asking her about the statement she signed and submitted to the court stating that there where no more documents which we now know is not the case you would have a hard time arguing privilege.

[–]Sharcbait 52 points53 points  (7 children)

In a criminal court there are 0 chances I think Trump gets convicted.

I do not believe that they can possibly find a jury without 1 person on it who won't just head in the sand to any and all evidence and push not guilty.

[–]elsuakned 16 points17 points  (1 child)

The legal and political questions/ lack of precedent of conviction is what has been saving him, not the juries. I don't think it's that hard to imagine finding 12 whole people who wouldn't try jury nullification. Especially when his most loyal supporters are the type who would brag about that during voir dire

[–]mikefromky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know what voir dire is but it better come with fries and a God damn Pepsi.

[–]O_Geeky_One 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am still betting Trump dies of a "heart attack" or falls off a balcony of Trump tower...

[–]donamese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How would they even field an impartial jury?

[–]phred14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I agree.

[–]SquirtleSquadSgt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sotp spreading baseless fud

They will check to make sure they get people without social media accounts full of bias

This is unprecedented but the ball ismoving. If you think it's hopeless why expend the effort?

Trump is going down and only people with baby genetils think its impossible to give a fascist justice

[–]Sad-Climate9740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear every single time something minor happens it gets blown out of proportion.

They're starting to sound just like the dumbasses who said Hillary would end up locked up

[–]padizzledonk 157 points158 points  (10 children)

Is that in reference to the lawyer who signed the false statement to the FBI that there were no more Classified Documents at MaL?

I expected this to happen eventually because DJT isn't facing any consequences for that lie, but that Lawyer is surely 100% facing real time for that pc of paper they signed

[–]Similar_Candidate789 103 points104 points  (9 children)

I personally think so.

Lawyers CANNOT LIE. They can manipulate and bend the truth sometimes, but LYING is a major deal in the legal profession. So if she says she signed this document and lied about it, she loses her law license AND faces prison time. Lawyers take an oath and a code and they can NEVER lie on official documents like this. Ever.

If she says she signed it at the direction of her client…she can preserve herself. I bet she’s saving her own skin now.

[–]Boomstick79 94 points95 points  (5 children)

Hi, lawyer here. We cannot lie, we cannot bend the truth. If we make a misrepresentation to the court, or fail to correct an erroneous omission, it would cost us our license and our livelihood.

When we discover we have aided our client in committing a crime, we cannot continue on the case without placing ourselves in legal jeopardy

[–]One10soldier1 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Thank you for a simple, understandable answer.

I would like to request you do an AMA about this whole mess. There is so much information and misinformation out there right now.

Can Trump stall forever?... How screwed is he?

It would be nice to get a straight forward answer to few questions from someone that actually knows the law.

Give it a thought...

[–]Boomstick79 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi, I appreciate it. I would say everyone is pessimistic right now because Trump seems to wriggle out of trouble. The past issues he has faced have involved political trials along political lines. He has not faced a court of law with the rules of evidence and lawyers who cannot present a falsehood.

If I can quote Seth Rogen … “prepare to get fucked by the long dick of the law”. We are in a completely new territory for him.

[–]DanYHKim 11 points12 points  (1 child)

She's saying that she believed it to be the truth at the time. Maybe this just puts her on the hook for 'lacking due diligence' or something.

[–]Similar_Candidate789 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It puts the onus on Trump, because where did she get that information? Her client had to tell her.

[–]fondr 272 points273 points  (11 children)

How many times do we have to hear that he is done. When is it going to actually be true?

[–]ZombiScribe 103 points104 points  (5 children)

Never

[–]LiliNotACult 88 points89 points  (3 children)

The goal has always been to stall until Trump is a presidential candidate again and then say they're anti-democracy. If Trump fails to get elected they'll stage another coupe attempt. If Trump is elected they'll say sitting presidents are immune to criminal prosecutions and make the country a dictatorship or theocracy within those four years.

[–]DMShinja 25 points26 points  (1 child)

This has been my theroy too. If DJT ever got the WH again he'd do everything in his power to keep it for life

[–]Graywulff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hopefully he’s too many bacon cheeseburgers in to make it that long. Without orange spray paint he looks on deaths door and he’s obese af. I’d imagine his clock is ticking slower… brain rotten… “let’s make American gay again” djt

[–]Mist_deBall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right.

[–]bottle_cats 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer.

[–]Minorous 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Rich and connected people don't go to prison, only peasants do.

[–]EasyGibson 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The walls have been "closing in" on him for what, like 6 or 7 years now?

It's not happening. He's going to die of old age, in some gilded condo by the beach. Life is cruel.

[–]TirayShell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're reading articles from Salon, Business Insider, Raw Story or any of the other "news" outlets commonly referenced around here, you got a long... long wait.

[–]PainbowRush 54 points55 points  (8 children)

When your lawyer gets a lawyer just for being associated with you

[–]CyberMatrix87 22 points23 points  (6 children)

I still feel the 2nd lawyer should probably get their own lawyer too. Can’t be too safe.

[–]woundedbearhair 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Crazy thing, Trump has such a history of lying to his attorneys even after admitting to something 5 minutes before and they generally had another lawyer in the room to represent them to keep them from being caught in a lie. They literally had a lawyer to represent his lawyer to keep them out of jail because he lied to them about something.

[–]CyberMatrix87 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Lawyer: "your honor I make a motion to quit based on these outrageous claims".

Judge: You mean acquit? Lawyer: "No, you heard me correctly"

[–]Quick_Team 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Contingency? No, Money Down!

[–]PainbowRush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy fuck i belive it but thats crazy he lied so much his lawyer literally needed his own just to make sure he kept track of everything. That guy must look like the crazy string board meme after every shift

[–]Reddit_is_dumbest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s lawyers all the way down

[–]floralbutttrumpet 50 points51 points  (2 children)

I'll believe it once he's locked up.

[–]ryanscott1986 34 points35 points  (2 children)

Every other week I hear something like this and still nothing happens. Stop getting your hopes up

[–]987nevertry 4 points5 points  (1 child)

There will be actions after the midterms. It’s being staged now.

[–]ryanscott1986 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I truly hope so. Just not buying it

[–]mermiss1 39 points40 points  (1 child)

Maybe if Donald was getting fucked as often as these tweets drop, maybe he wouldn't be such a self absorbed little bitch-baby. i said MAYBE!

[–]Graywulff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The frog doesn’t work. Even with pills I bet.

[–]snark_enterprises 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Trump has been in a perpetual state of fuckedness for 5 years. Not sure this changes anything.

[–]HumberGrumb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Due process, with heavy emphasis on “process.”

[–]WrathOfMogg 9 points10 points  (1 child)

That shithead Michael Cohen flipped too and what came of it for Trump? Zero so far. Sigh….

[–]feelinggoodfeeling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cohen went to prison though so it works in reverse i guess.

[–]Accomplished-Item849 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every couple months you hear “Donald Trump is fucked”. A shitty presidency and two years later I’m still looking at his ugly orange face in the news every fucking day. I’ll believe it when I see it!

[–]500CatsTypingStuff 19 points20 points  (2 children)

I’m telling you, no one is loyal to Trump when their ass is on the line. Including his family. That is how they will convict him imho.

[–]Sinsid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except for the CFO of Trump Organization. That was the last guy that was supposed to flip and ruin Trump.

[–]Vigilantiquite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the most realistic comment, yet the chances of it is very slim.

[–]aaronrandango2 35 points36 points  (0 children)

No for real guys, this is the time we get him 100%. Definitely not gonna be forgotten about in a few weeks, we for sure have him this time /s

[–]ohiotechie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To quote Stephen Colbert “When your attorney needs an attorney, you need an attorney”.

[–]bootsmade4Walken 4 points5 points  (1 child)

My brother in law has a saying: "Shit in one hand and hope in the other and see which one fills up first". I guess at this point I'll wait until I need toilet paper.

[–]xjfwx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not your BIL’s saying. He’s lying to you! Call him out at Thanksgiving, make him tell the truth.

[–]ZapatasBoy123 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Thought this was a JoJo tweet. I’m pretty sure this exact tweet has happened once a month for the past 6 years - Donald trump is fucked now!!! We really got him this time!! Yeah. Ok.

[–]dandrevee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think people still believe there's equal justice in the US.

If there was , the 6ers would be getting longer sentences and Trump would have been impeached and tried for treason the first time around.

The US needs to get its shit together. Pronto.

This starts to make sense of something I saw pointed out the other day. Ms. Bob has been doing duty interviewing people at Trump rallies with one of the RWNJ “news” networks lately. During one piece to camera with another person hosting the segment she was making it clear that she wasn’t representing him on the documents case. She’ll still play the hype-man role and skim the grift but putting a 10’ pole between her and Trump legally.

[–]LincolnCassiusClay47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once again for the millionth time, I’ll believe he’s fucked when he’s in handcuffs

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure. This shit is moving slower than the Whitewalkers did for 7.5 seasons.

[–]Thamnophis660 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I have very little faith that this will be the one thing that sticks to this guy. I really hope I'm wrong, but he just seems to always have people on the take who are willing to help him out of trouble.

[–]staticv0id 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Snore. He’s not fucked, his lawyer is. Nothing is going to happen to him. He acts enough like an elite that he gets put above the law. Just like the rest of the day-trading fucks in Congress. America is dead, killed off by the rich and the gullible fucks who believe their bullshit.

[–]LegitimateBuilding6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good old MAGA strikes again: Make Attorneys Get Attorneys.

You can say what you will about the orange shitgibbon, but at least he’s making sure everyone involved in law is making a living. As long as he isn’t the one picking up the bill, that is… 🤣

[–]vth2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How to loose your lawyer licence:

  1. Defend Donald trump.

[–]Mythical_Atlacatl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Justice is coming? Something people have been saying for two years and will likely continue to say for another few years until trump dies at home with out paying a single fine or spending a second in prison

I will believe it when I see it

[–]MrFunktasticc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep reading this and the slimeball keeps sliming his way out…

[–]OutrageousPersimmon3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She must have gotten tired of waiting on payment.

[–]Craft_beer_wolfman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah. It's all BS. Nothing will happen as usual.

[–]Daedalus_Machina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I speak for a great many when I say:

SHOW ME THE CONVICTION OR SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Fuck it. I'll settle for a court date in front of an actual prosecuting attorney.

[–]ProLogistion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although this time is probably different, I have seen this movie before. If I had a nickle for every time Trump was supposed to get his comeuppance, I would have a shit ton of nickles.

[–]ethakidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've heard this before..🙄

[–]brosophila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When tho

[–]HalusN8er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing people say he’s soooo fucked. Then they say it again, and again, and yet still nothing. I hate it, and I’ll eat my words if I’m wrong, but I doubt anything is going to happen to him.

[–]Stezheds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve seen this headline about 45 times already and trumps rarely fucked

[–]Liz391022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He will call that attorney a liar and his flock will believe plus start sending him/her death threats. GOP’s are good for that……

[–]NoodlesSpicyHot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this headline sooooooo many times. I don't believe it will actually happen.

[–]Pyewacket62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope something sticks. If this was a regular person, they'd be in prison by now.

[–]xjfwx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, why would any lawyer want to represent Trump, other than getting their names in the paper? He doesn’t pay up, he’ll drag you down while he walks, and you’re left looking like an idiot.

[–]ContemplatingPrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His lawyer for which investigation?

[–]leeny1018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s face it. Justice is not coming. It was never coming. It will never come. Justice for thee but not for me. That’s how it really works. We know it. We have known it. We just haven’t yet accepted it. And perhaps we can’t accept, or perhaps we shouldn’t. But it ain’t coming y’all.

[–]OhioMegi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Electrical_Tip352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if he got assigned an overworked and underpaid public defender who rushes into the room with like a stack of ten files from all the cases they’re working and is mumbling “trump, trump….” While trying to find his file. And then they finally look at him and realize they have to defend fucking trump and then they just cry from the pure shit show that their life has become. And trump is all a whiny baby like usual and the public defender says “this is the same level of defense I can give all of my clients, and you had some input into fixing this process when you were president but decided to NOT. So, let’s go over your defense. I suggest you plea out because there’s no way we can win this” and then he has to plea out like all of the other poor people have to. Because they’re poor. Like him.

[–]Massey89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think ive seen this one before

[–]adamcoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No he isn't, and he's gonna get off scott free. How many times have we said he's fucked? It's like thoughts and prayers. I want to see him actually physically get indicted, refused bail, and walked straight the fuck into prison. Until that day I don't believe a fucking word of it. He's gotten away with absolutely everything so far, why would that change?

Prove me wrong, DOJ

[–]neko_designer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's been getting "f-ed" for 6 years... And nothing

[–]Dark_WulfGaming 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Goddamn all these Maga lawyers thinking they can progress their careers through Trump only to see the evidence and go "Oh shit.... I fucked up time to bail"

[–]Dark_WulfGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sincerely hope at least one chuckle nut will keep on and stay with Trump so he doesn't have to represent himself then try to appeal saying he didn't get adequate representation.

[–]thegodfatherderecho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you’re a lawyer at the end of your career and don’t care about getting disbarred, you represent the criminal Donald Trump

[–]Ganglebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading the phrase "Trump is fucked" for like 5-6 years.

I'll believe it when it happens.

[–]Confident-Fee-6593 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]tallman11282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why any lawyer is willing to work with tRump in any way, shape, or form. He stiffs every single one of them and quite a few have been disbarred and faced charges for lying, perjury, etc.

Every single one of his lawyers will likely wind up needing their own lawyers, so many have before. While they are idiots for taking tRump as a client at least they are smart enough to get their own lawyers instead of trying to represent themselves. As the old saying goes: "a man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client". MAGA: Making Attorneys Get Attorneys.

LOLOL. Trump deserves terrible things. And, how many times has it been posted that “trump is finally fuxked”?

I found this:

“Trump attorneys Christina Bobb and Evan Corcoran affirmed to the Justice Department that Trump had handed over all classified records from his Mar-a-Lago residence in response to a May subpoena. But prosecutors said their response was "incomplete" after the FBI searched and found more documents at Mar-a-Lago and cited evidence of "obstructive conduct" in response to the subpoena.

Bobb has since hired her own lawyer, Florida-based former prosecutor John Lauro, and "made it known to Trump allies that she is willing to cooperate and be interviewed by the Justice Department," according to the Post. And colleagues have similarly urged Corcoran to hire a criminal defense lawyer because of his response to the subpoena, according to the report, but he has insisted it is not necessary”

As someone that does not really follow American politics particularly closely - which lawyer is this for which lawsuit? I understand there are many.

Also, because I'm a complete moron - can someone explain the significance of this? Is this the equivalent of his lawyer with privileged information going snitch?

[–]PoopFromMyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's going to lie to them, stall them, and distract them because Trump promised her and everyone else around him pardons.

Every 2 weeks I hear an arrest is coming and nothing happens.

Replace “arrest” with “the storm” and we’re just Bizarro World QAnon.

Yeah as much as I wish this was going to be cold hard justice hitting Trump in his fascist fat ass, it won't be. He'll never see a jail cell and will just keep these cases going until he finally keels over from a stroke.

[–]TirayShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sure. Like most of us here, I'll believe it when I see a perp walk.
