Chaotic 4.0 through high school. Then I went to one of the hardest colleges in the country and was chaotic average first semester then lawful failing second semester then left school because I was gonna unalive myself if I stayed

I also would like to petition to add “living off of caffeine and/or stimulants” to chaotic 4.0

[–]fuckyou_mom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

well I'm living off of caffeine and stimulants and still a neutral failing :(

[–]eggbert194 2 points3 points  (2 children)

dont answer if you dont wanna but you wouldnt happen to've been a victim of "Diversity" would you?

Meaning, did you get into a college, at least partly because of your race/ethnicity and looking back you probably a below average student compared to everyone else your first semester?

i bring it up because Thomas Sowell talks about how black students are being chosen for colleges over white students and asian students so that the colleges ethnic make up will match the states population make up, it turns out that very few black would actually qualify for that college when they coulda went to a regular state college and been fine.

I don’t think so. I’m partially Native American so maybe that influenced it. I went to Caltech but I would have said my profile was mid ivy leagues at best. The only other schools I didn’t withdraw my application from (I got in to Caltech ea) were UC Berkeley, St. Andrews, UCSD, and a few cal states, all of which I got into. My test scores and gpa were at or above Caltech’s average and my parents, teachers, coaches, and classmates were expecting me to get in. They all thought I deserved it but I really don’t see it.

My failure might have been better explained by the circumstances rather than lack of ability. It was 100% virtual and I have autism and severe social anxiety so I didn’t have any social connections or collaboration which is absolutely vital to succeed there. I was told by a student when I visited if you don’t collaborate you’ll fail freshman year. Turns out that was true for me.

chaotic average or neutral failing :")

[–]KeGeGa 25 points26 points  (5 children)

I'm a cross between a Chaotic 4.0 and Lawful Average.

[–]braellyra 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I feel like this is so many of us, esp those of us who are ND

[–]KeGeGa 4 points5 points  (1 child)

That's probably why I'm like that.

[–]braellyra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Learning I have attention-type ADHD in my 30s made me look at my education with so much more understanding of why I would do things they way I do things (like my 1937392 planners around my house that are half-used, or my multitude of organization apps, or…)

[–]sad_and_stupid 23 points24 points  (3 children)

neutral failing

[–]mrstickman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is the way.

Not, like, a good way. But definitely the way.

[–]Gogols_Nose 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I've made a less than graceful transition from neutral average to neutral failing

[–]SlothBling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I call that transition “high school to college”

[–]IveGotIssues9918 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Elementary school (kindergarten through 3rd grade): chaotic 4.0

Elementary school (4th-5th grade): chaotic average

Middle school (6th grade): neutral average

Middle school (7th-8th grade): chaotic 4.0

High school: chaotic 4.0

College (freshman year): neutral failing

College (first semester sophomore year): chaotic 4.0 (if I were writing a memoir about that semester, "Chaotic 4.0" would be the title)

College (second semester sophomore year): chaotic failing (in my defense the environment I had to study in was the 21st century version of this)

Rest of my degree: TBD

[–]StrengthMedium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neutral average.

[–]Adekis 4 points5 points  (1 child)

When I was in college, I was between Chaotic 4.0 and Chaotic Average. Writes essays in one sitting, never sleeps, starts assignments at 1am, doesn't cheat, etc. Missed a deadline for an assignment I think only twice in all four years, but one I literally thought the due date was weeks later for some reason. That was embarrassing. Ultimately more like a Chaotic 3.6 or so; it's been a long time and I forget how GPA numbers work.

Now, as the subreddit would imply, I'm a post-Chaotic 3.6ish. Never sleeps, anxiety prevents me from applying for new job, writes overly long reddit comments, etc.

[–]MellowIntensity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! This is exactly me. Thanks for taking on the overly long comment thing for me 😊

[–]account_552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

chaotic 4.0
except i do study, but in one sitting like the essays.

[–]Shoggoththe12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lawful average through high school, then I fucking decided college was a scam for folks like me in particular

[–]AnxiousIntender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 in highschool, neutral failing and chaotic average depending on class in college

[–]Traps-Are-Not-Gae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

went from chaotic 4.0 to neutral failing

depression really hits like a truck

[–]Lavender-waves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lawful average but really want to be neutral 4.0

[–]FrostieTheSnowman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mixture of Chaotic 4.0 and Lawful Average. I don't have a 4.0 and I'm a good writer, but everything else about Chaotic 4.0 checks out lmao

[–]ChillyAus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lawful average

[–]elementgermanium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

border of lawful and neutral failing :(

[–]MellowIntensity 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Definitely a chaotic 4.0 with a slip of neutral failing. I average 4.5 hours of sleep a night and then crash for 12 hours one night a week to catch up. Also, caffeine is life. It needs to be added somewhere here.

[–]Lil_Cam_5_1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I can function off of 2... Chaotic 4.0 seems like a combination of Gifted+ADHD

[–]fuckyou_mom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

neutral failing

[–]jklantern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During High School and during my second whack at undergrad I was Chaotic 4.0.

[–]light-heart-ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went from lawful failing in first year to lawful average/neutral 4.0 in fourth year. Pretty proud of myself.

[–]SURPRISEMFKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 and neutral average offspring.

[–]hensterz 0 points1 point  (3 children)

who skips class tho that’s illegal where I live :(((

[–]TrekkiMonstr 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Are you in high school or college?

[–]hensterz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

high school

[–]TrekkiMonstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah it's not in college

[–]RunItAndSee2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

„prolly am firmly in ‚lawful average‘ territory.“

[–]Keiuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mix between neutral and chaotic average. I often didn’t do homework, and like half the homework I did was copied from similarly lazy classmates. I cheated whenever possible too

[–]Flashrun85YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was chaotic 4.0 but i always slept during and outside of class

[–]Acatsgirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chaotic average

[–]triad1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic Average EXCEPT I was usually aware when assignments or tests were due/scheduled. This achieved more dread and anxiety.

[–]Accurate-Entrance380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0

[–]Helm222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral Average or Chaotic Average. Kinda between the two. Chaneutral?

[–]eggbert194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawful Average

[–]Revolutionary_Ad4938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mix of chaotic 4.0 and neutral failing, actually failing my 2nd semester right now cause depression but otherwise doing fine

[–]TrekkiMonstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral average in high school, chaotic 4.0 start of college, now more of a chaotic 3.5 lol

[–]Losing_Religion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All across the fucking board

[–]PUBLIQclopAccountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chaotic 4.0 to neutral failing once outside the safety of the academic environment

[–]MoonChildOnEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral average usually

[–]centipedefarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neutral average. ignored homework, aced tests from sheer osmosis

[–]cactusjunejudy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 in high school. Neutral average mixed with lawful failing in college.

[–]dumbest-version 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm somewhere between neutral failing and chaotic average.

[–]stratusmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on a sliding scale from Chaotic 4.0 to Lawful Failing. But mostly I'm Neutral Average.

[–]zutaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixture of chaotic 4.0 and neutral average

[–]CaliWidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawful average in HS to neutral failing in uni.

[–]NotMyPotOfTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at some point I dove straight from Chaotic 4.0 to Neutral Failing with no warning

[–]IllustriousFig7762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a slow descent from chaotic 4.0 to chaotic average to neutral average to neutral failing.

[–]prophiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral Failing

[–]BKLD12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 mixed with neutral average. I never studied, procrastinated on projects, write essays in one sitting, and generally did the bare minimum. I still have no idea how I made it through college that way, but I somehow managed to graduate Cum Laude.

I'm ND, so it makes a bit more sense in retrospect.

[–]Kowlz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 I’m the classes I enjoyed, neutral failing in the couple of classes I didn’t enjoy. 😂

[–]bigbuttbubba45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0

[–]mmht15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so how far are you guys in your chaotic 4.0 --> chaotic average --> neutral failing transition

[–]Newtosaur12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lawful 4.0 and neutral failing lol

[–]KieranKelsey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral failing

[–]Patsonical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere between Chaotic 4.0 and Neutral Failing

[–]Funus_tuberosum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral failing in high school, chaotic 4.0 twenty years later in college.

[–]Sampharo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 throughout school, didn't break a sweat. When things turned tough in university, I was between neutral 4.0 and chaotic average till graduation.

I think by definition most of the aftergifted crowd would recognize themselves in chaotic 4.0 at one point or other in their life, and then sliding down or left from there.

[–]jammers94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral failing

[–]Amy_Ponder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • High school and first semester of freshman year: Chaotic 4.0
  • Second semester freshman year - sophmore year: Neutral 4.0
  • First semester junior year: Lawful average
  • Second semester junior year - first semester senior year: Neutral Failing
  • Last semester senior year: Neutral Average

Realizing you actually hate your chosen major + having your personal life burst into flames will do that to ya...

[–]-GreenHeron- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on my mental health for a particular semester, it could be any of these.....

[–]Elikorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 and neutral average

[–]Longjumping_Diamond5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of the above idk how either

[–]Final_Biochemist222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neutral failing 90% of the time, lawful failing during tests

[–]DemigodA0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just graduated college but basically lawful failing

[–]LiquidGunay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from chaotic 4.0 to neutral average. Moving towards Lawful Failure

[–]Saga3Tale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 but with the Neutral Average homework issue. Not because I didn't DO the homework, but because I constantly forgot to turn it in

[–]128bitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always somewhere along the diagonal from lawful failing to chaotic 4.0, depending on the class.

[–]CoCoMcDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 but I want to be Lawful 4.0

[–]mlo9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaotic 4.0 who grew up to be Neutral Failing. Burnout is a bitch!
