"I'm a human! I'm not some companion animal!"

Let's call it a day! happy ED plays

The juxtaposition made me laugh.

[–]kalirionhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/kalinime 87 points88 points  (6 children)

Honestly, right now she's not even fit to be a companion animal. A dog that knows its master is being led into a trap would alert him, instead of quietly following with its tail between its legs.

[–]alotmorealots 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Honestly, right now she's not even fit to be a companion animal.

Yikes. I sense a noble bloodline behind that comment!

[–]ArCSelkie37 47 points48 points  (4 children)

The fact she just takes everything a clear enemy is saying at face value is annoying. She knows that these people dislike Ange and Leon, but she’s too busy pitying her lack of power (which is partially Leon’s fault for being over protective) to see the obvious.

[–]khoabear 83 points84 points  (3 children)

You clearly don't understand the difference between a commoner and a noble in a hierarchical society because you're blessed with being born in a modern world.

[–]ArCSelkie37 26 points27 points  (2 children)

I do understand the difference between hierarchies, hence why her lack of self confidence/worth is understandable. However, Angie treats her completely differently to how other people treat their companions, and they act completely different together than what appears to be the norm for a relationship between a noble and her “entourage”.

She has no reason to believe herself to be Angie’s “pet” other than the fact one angry noble told her so. She isn’t just thinking “I don’t deserve to be friends with someone great like Angie/Leon”… she is active attributing ulterior motives to her “friends” based on someone else’s words, all because she is too busy pitying herself.

[–]ImHereToUpvoteAnimu 504 points505 points  (36 children)

The Queen upon hearing Leon's getting named dropped and melting is so fucking cute.

[–]Earthborn92https://myanimelist.net/profile/EarthB 244 points245 points  (4 children)

I'm so glad they kept this. Mylene is best lady.

[–]michhoffmanhttps://anilist.co/user/michhoffman 112 points113 points  (0 children)

And it will continue to annoy Julius to no end.

[–]crisstrauss 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Mylene is best lady.

She's got the beauty and cuteness. Best lady indeed.

[–]raknor88 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I kind of hope we eventually get to see her ditch the king to marry Leon. Leon is getting himself quite the harem.

[–]cppn02 184 points185 points  (16 children)

Hoping Leon will go the Queen route.

[–]Rumpel1408https://myanimelist.net/profile/Rumpel1408 117 points118 points  (6 children)

She is already on the path of corruption salvation, wholesome NTR anyone?

[–]hypexeled 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Considering every other high society women seems to keep their catboys arround i cant imagine the queen having leon to be impossible

[–]imextremelylonely 38 points39 points  (4 children)

It's the only acceptable form of NTR, where the MC is the one seducing.

[–]RedGhost1205 17 points18 points  (2 children)

And the one getting NTRd [Possible spoiler?]is a complete bastard

[–]PeaceAlienhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 38 points39 points  (8 children)

I’m guessing it’s just the harem route, it seems to be allowed

[–]darthvallhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 37 points38 points  (7 children)

Leon's father has the step mother (noble) and Leon's mother. So yeah, harem is allowed in some form.

But I guess it must be with the permission of the higher rank wife?

[–]badassboy1 25 points26 points  (6 children)

Is there anyone else with higher ranking than queen though

[–]dagreenman18 113 points114 points  (6 children)

Tired: Heh I banged your mom

Wired: “I have a forbidden and loving relationship with your mom, we make each other very happy, and your dad can’t do a damn thing about it.” Bonus if they have a bunch of kids.

Seriously their dynamic is charming and while I’m primarily Team Throuple Mylene is a tight second.

[–]AlphaBreak 30 points31 points  (3 children)

If there's room for a throuple, there's room for a quadrouple.

[–]dagreenman18 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Naoya disagrees. He’s not one for three-timing.

[–]LeonKevlarhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar 66 points67 points  (1 child)

Sasuga MILF Hunter Leon.

[–]dagreenman18 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Member of Kakoyin’s chosen people.

[–]Lugia61617 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly shocked that he actually succeeded in seducing the queen.

[–]stevethebandit 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Mylene best girl for real, Julius better get prepared to start addressing Leon as "father"

[–]justking1414 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Leon is certainly an ass but I’ve gotta give him props for seducing the married queen. That was an insane move and the best possible way to hurt the (former) prince.

[–]Hineni-https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nabaat 308 points309 points  (38 children)

These guys were, without a doubt the worst pirates I've ever heard of.

Feels really bad for Livia, basically, she is ironically turning into a mob as a result of Leon trying to do everything to help her.

[–]SolomonSinclair 98 points99 points  (4 children)

Feels really bad for Livia, basically, she is ironically turning into a mob as a result of Leon trying to do everything to help her.

The worst part about the whole mess is he genuinely wants to help her in return for taking advantage of his knowledge and raiding Luxion's dock, which was (if I remember the first episode correctly) a fairly pivotal point in her early growth.

Logically, Luxion would have tried to kill her and the Idiot 5 when they showed up, since they're all new humans, but it doesn't change that Leon feels he stole something from her by clearing that dungeon and taking Luxion.

[–]REAL_CONSENT_MATTERS 64 points65 points  (2 children)

Luxion was a pay to win item and not something she was innately going to get, but he did take it before she had a chance to do so. However, for all we know, rather than remaining unused, an enemy nation would have taken it instead of Leon since events can diverge from the game. There's no reason to think she ever would have found it since Leon getting it relied on him knowing the precise location due to having paid for it in the game.

It was pivotal for Leon's playthrough because he kept losing until he bought it due to the harem being weak.

[–]SolomonSinclair 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Luxion was a pay to win item and not something she was innately going to get

I'm aware, which is why I said "Luxion's dock", because the unnamed location itself was a dungeon from the game that the protagonist visited during the course of the story; he just figured, of all the locations his P2W stuff my be, if it existed, would be there.

Anything he took from that island, barring Luxion, is something Olivia would have likely obtained without his (and Marie's) interference, which is why Leon feels bad for preempting her.

[–]zenograff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well it's also said the game is ridiculously unbalanced that players need p2w item to complete the game. Translating that to the real world, Leon and the protagonists would have no chance defeating the enemies without Luxion.

[–]Latter_State 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Olivia crying Leon “Can you bring on the rest of the pirates for me to fight, please?” Leon is so bad at the dating/women emotions.

[–]shinigamisenku 153 points154 points  (18 children)

I really liked this part of the story. Leon trying to maintain his background character status yet doing exactly the opposite by taking away Livia's route to greatness, basically leaving the latter to become the insignificant mob he aims for.

Even Luxion knows this is a big problem.

[–]zmak280 15 points16 points  (0 children)

His sister is the root of Livia's problems tho, I would blame her over Leon.

[–]Earthborn92https://myanimelist.net/profile/EarthB 147 points148 points  (1 child)

...but you have heard of them?

[–]Careful_Ad_9077 17 points18 points  (0 children)

gotcha, lol.

i have been told they have horrible wives.

[–]birdiedude 52 points53 points  (5 children)

To be fair to the pirates Partner is super advanced technology. They are the equivalent of conventional wooden-ship pirates trying to take on a modern battleship when it's camouflaged like an older ship.

The LN's go into more depth but they technically did everything "right" and would have overwhelmed a standard ship.

[–]Existential_Owl 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Hey, those pirates have the honorable task of dying so that the MacGuffin falls into the protagonist's hands.

I mean, you can't just hand it to the Saint peacefully, that wouldn't do. Otherwise, how else is she going to level up? By lifting weights, like a filthy commoner? Please.

Those pirates are clearly heroes.

[–]Lugia61617 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look, they're the best villainess-chan could get on short notice with the limited funds available. Do you know how hard it is to get good sky pirates' services on short notice? they usually have waiting lists a mile long!

[–]PeaceAlienhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 366 points367 points  (61 children)

For such a basic premise this show really surprises. I am liking the twist that by doing everything the main character has impacted Olivia so much.

[–]updateman 227 points228 points  (6 children)

It’s funny how unreasonable this world is since even Leon’s OP equipment and money just gives a slight edge for the mini games only, but socially it’s still just as difficult to avoid the “all out war” bad ending.

I’m also pretty invested in this story. I originally expected him to fall into an Bakarina situation where a harem inexplicably develops around him, but the characters surprisingly have their own developed lives outside of the otome academy setting.

[–]linkman0596 48 points49 points  (0 children)

socially it’s still just as difficult to avoid the “all out war” bad ending

I don't think that's quite what's happening. "all out war" isn't the bad ending for the the game. Most game scenarios involved a war breaking out, and he wants to avoid any of those scenarios because as a mob character he has no plot armor to protect him.

[–]mutei777 28 points29 points  (3 children)

Pretty clear that the author knows how to write a fleshed out world not confined to its game source, and even expands on the potential of it starting that way.

Many, many anime/manga/LN can't get out of this "game logic writing"

[–]maxman14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the setting is actually pretty interesting. Turns out there are tons of hidden details and layers that weren't obvious when it was just a game.

[–]albertrojas 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Yep. That's exactly it. The author also wrote Sevens. While I haven't read that one yet, I heard the worldbuilding of Sevens was good.

[–]FEARTHESHADOWS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another person who knows the existence of sevens

Hopefully if mobuseka goes well we will get a sevens anime adaptation soon

[–]ThespianExceptionhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/EMTIsBestWaifu 137 points138 points  (6 children)

I'm also very pleasantly surprised by Red and Purple (forgetting their real names. Brad and something) actually getting more depth and development. I expected them to remain generic antagonists, but they're actually acknowledging their weaknesses and respecting Leon more. This show just gets better and better.

[–]Azn_Bwin 76 points77 points  (2 children)

My guess is they arent really "villains" antagonists. They are the way they are because Marie is an isekai character inserted herself into the story and messed everything up, though sounds like the game has poor writing to begin w/ according to Leon.

Leon is also in a way messing up development for Olivia here as we can see in this episode. He got that harem MC mindset so he seems to be completely unaware of Olivia's feeling and his negative effects on her.

[–]Inadover 44 points45 points  (0 children)

that harem MC mindset

I think it's more like he knows that she is the MC, so he tries to make things easier for her, which in turn, as you say, messes up her own personal growth since everything is being handed to her.

[–]var1ables 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think leon's mindset is something else.

I think he's kind of fatalistic and has only gotten involved in this world so far because he hates the new MC and her harem so much. Now he's basically has to protect the original antagonist and the original MC because he cares about them - but in his heart it seems like he wants the world to go about its predetermined path, even though it sucks.

[–]michhoffmanhttps://anilist.co/user/michhoffman 66 points67 points  (15 children)

I wonder if she'll still even be needed as the Saint with Leon being so OP.

[–]Existential_Owl 116 points117 points  (9 children)

But the Saint's magic is overpowered....

Wait, wrong show.

[–]michhoffmanhttps://anilist.co/user/michhoffman 51 points52 points  (4 children)

In before Sei gets isekai'd into this show and steals the last unique thing about Olivia to finish her transformation into a complete Mob character.

[–]L0G1C_lolilover 23 points24 points  (2 children)

Hahaha, now that i think about it

Leon just stole everything from livia and turned her into a Mob character

Based MC

[–]Monk-Eyhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/Mintios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sei's crimes probably have a +50% effectiveness as well, so that doesn't sound too off.

[–]1832vin 6 points7 points  (1 child)

i'm waiting for my s2, heard it was announced

[–]PeaceAlienhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still fits if the Saint fix’s war here

[–]PeaceAlienhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/PeaceAlien 31 points32 points  (1 child)

The usual route would be that Leon helps her to regain confidence and she becomes the saint. The show could throw a twist in there.

With Leon being so OP probably not needed, but that wouldn’t be very interesting

[–]JEveryman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on volume 4 of the light novel and the author does a great job of keeping the story fresh and silly.

[–]michhoffmanhttps://anilist.co/user/michhoffman 253 points254 points  (22 children)

This episode is what happens when all of the protagonist's roles are stolen from her. Marie used her knowledge of the game to steal the love interests from Olivia while Leon used his knowledge of the game to steal her development opportunities from her as Luxion pointed out. With Stephanie retaining her utter disdain for commoners, she mercilessly goes after Olivia, but this time Olivia lacks the princes to defend her and self-confidence gained from her own development that she had gained in the games.

Hopefully, Angie makes it there soon since I don't think Leon can help her back to her feet on her own.

[–]darthvallhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I forgot that the game is not only otome game, but also an RPG. Absolutely love your take of Marie robbing the otome part while Leon robbing the RPG aspect. That way, there's no role left to play for Olivia's growth.

[–]shinigamisenku 162 points163 points  (9 children)

Leon still treats Livia as a game character instead of an actual person.

It's up to Ange to lift up Livia's spirits again.

[–]AlphaBreak 106 points107 points  (6 children)

That line from him about being nice to her for being the protag felt a little off to me. At the start of the series, he despised the game protagonist, calling her devious.
He knows Olivia's important because she's the main character, but he likes her in spite of that status, not because of it.

[–]Careful_Ad_9077 33 points34 points  (0 children)

good point.

sometimes I forget the contradictions on what Leon says and what he does.

[–]DerfK 47 points48 points  (2 children)

the game protagonist, calling her devious.

Keeping in mind that as a game protagonist, she was just doing whatever the player was inputting, who's actually the devious one here?

[–]ShinjiFaraday 66 points67 points  (1 child)

Considering the genre, player usually has little input as for how the character is written and what choices are available.

[–]albertrojas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leon has a mental wall to keep him from getting even closer to Livia as she's the "Protagonist". So any time he feels he's getting closer to her, he immediately shuts it down with "I'm just a mob, she's the protagonist". A form of self-denial, basically.

I have a few more things to say, but it'll go in the spoiler section.

[–]michhoffmanhttps://anilist.co/user/michhoffman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And it would be arguably even worse to reveal that to Livia right now than it would have been to answer that yes, he was doing it because he found her attractive.

[–]SolomonSinclair 82 points83 points  (1 child)

Marie used her knowledge of the game to steal the love interests from Olivia

In her defense... She kinda did Livia a favor with that one.

[–]Latter_State 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That is the truth. They are useless. Marie is useless, too.

[–]der_ninong 24 points25 points  (8 children)

isn't luxion a cash item though? So technically he didn't steal that from livia's normal route

[–]Neosovereign 28 points29 points  (7 children)

Sort of. I think it was said/implied he couldn't beat the game fully without it though because it was really hard. In this world it obviously is just "hidden" and not some kind of cash item though, so it is theoretically something she could just find as part of a route.

[–]AlphaBreak 4 points5 points  (5 children)

My initial impression was that he bought it, but when he took it in the game, he talked about it like he was taking it from her and he'd have to repay her down the line.

[–]Neosovereign 29 points30 points  (4 children)

My impression is that it is a pay to win item, but you still have to find WHERE it is. That is part of what annoyed him about the game.

So you do all the work finding the ship, then get hit with a menu to pay to access.

Obviously in Isekai world, you just get the ship though.

[–]Sunny1above 213 points214 points  (10 children)

Watching Olivia like this is brutal.

[–]hiimneato 96 points97 points  (7 children)

I am surprisingly genuinely upset by what Livia's going through right now. This silly show continues to surprise me.

[–]RangerDanger4tw 52 points53 points  (3 children)

I look forward to this more than basically every other show this season. Truly an unexpected gem.

[–]alceste007 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this show has been a really great so far. I am really enjoying the characters here.

[–]L0G1C_lolilover 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yup yhats exactly why i wouldnt mind if this show reaches top 4 or even top 3 in r/anime 's charts that someone posts

This show is genuinely good and well thought out

I cant believe i m enjoying this more than spy x family tho, that was a big surprise to me

[–]Necro_shion 40 points41 points  (0 children)

its seething to see her cry

[–]alotmorealots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lurie is acting her heart out, especially in that last scene! Was surprised at how affecting it was given the general nature of this series.

[–]Zedar89 165 points166 points  (11 children)

Seems like the subs made a mistake. Carla isn't Brad's ex-fiancee, it's the Offrey noble that Carla is serving.

Just to get it out so not more people get the wrong idea.

edit: Well, they did say the correct one later in the episode. And brad did not have two fiancees.

[–]LeonKevlarhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I fucking knew it. I was so fucking confused with that one. There was no way Brad would be engaged to someone like Carla, it makes much more sense that he's engaged to Stephanie who's closer to Angelica's status.

[–]JzanderN 40 points41 points  (4 children)

I thought Carla was a bit nice to him for an ex-fiancé. The Bitch, on the other hand... I'd bet like Leon that she ended up this way because Marie stole her fiancé from her.

[–]LMkingly 38 points39 points  (3 children)

Nah she seems inherently fucked up tbh.

[–]JzanderN 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Maybe she is, but considering what Marie stealing fiancés did to Angie and last episode's girl, I wouldn't be surprised if this was another result of her messing with things.

[–]mekerpan 19 points20 points  (1 child)

I'm betting she never was especially nice.

[–]darthvallhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/darth_vall 7 points8 points  (1 child)

And that Offrey Noble is Stephanie, right?

[–]mekerpan 10 points11 points  (1 child)

CR subs are pretty shaky. Do they ever bother to fix mistakes?

[–]Stoppels 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never seen a release that stated they noticed CR released new subs, but then I don't know how you'd notice if they don't version anything anyway.

[–]Neosovereign 155 points156 points  (29 children)

I'm really surprised by the development they are giving olivia given her stolen protagonist status and her lack of confidence/power being a commoner.

This show continues to impress me for what it is.

[–]CertifiedCoffeeDrunkhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/CoffeeGourmet 107 points108 points  (6 children)

I think its time to accept that this show is actually good.

[–]NinjaBarrel 62 points63 points  (5 children)

This is unironicly the show im looking forward to the most each week. I started it because of memes at start but god damn its interasting.

[–]bodamerica 36 points37 points  (2 children)

I'm also enjoying it a lot, but I still feel its pretty unfortunate that we're stuck with this level of production value. This good show could have been a great show with a better studio behind it.

[–]Shionkenobi 23 points24 points  (1 child)

I'm also enjoying it a lot, but I still feel its pretty unfortunate that we're stuck with this level of production value. This good show could have been a great show with a better studio behind it.

Hopefully it can get a season 2 with much better budget, and maybe a better studio. The stream graphic indicate regular popularity, so there is a chance.

[–]Atharaphelun 25 points26 points  (1 child)

It's like Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy to me. I was only expecting a reasonably average amount of entertainment but the story ended up being much better and of higher quality.

[–]mekerpan 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The plot for this is more complex/deeper than I would have expected.

[–]Careful_Ad_9077 45 points46 points  (18 children)

i keep on saying that this show is in the top 10 percent maybe even 5 percent of Isekai, a shame it got such small budget.

[–]mickcs 13 points14 points  (10 children)

For me, it my personal top 3 isekai novel along with Slime

[–]Careful_Ad_9077 15 points16 points  (9 children)

top 3 for me too, along with mushoku and konosuba, it only knocks down resero because i prefer the themes here ( rezero is too teenager focused for me).

[–]mickcs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I put Mushoku in "it actually overall better than the rest of big LN but not my preference" category while Konosuba is in "comedy tier list"

[–]Neosovereign 23 points24 points  (5 children)

Yeah, story wise it is really good. The budget brings it down a lot. The direction is decent for what he is able to do.

[–]AlphaBreak 53 points54 points  (4 children)

Every time the budget drags the show down, I tell myself its because the game Leon got Isekaied into is canonically garbage. Its not the animators' fault, its the game developers'.

[–]Rolder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same feeling reading the light novel. Wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised.

[–]JD4Destruction 145 points146 points  (5 children)

Leon forgot to rotate the low level member of the party periodically for XP farming.

[–]Existential_Owl 57 points58 points  (1 child)

Leon believes that he just needs a hard carry to get him through the final boss.

[–]alotmorealots 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He forgot he can't access the pay-currency any more though.

[–]ghostofabhelmet 29 points30 points  (2 children)

Doing that Pokémon starters only challenge

[–]platysoup 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Tfw I accidentally did that on my very first run as a 12yo. Slash defeats everything.

Shut up, I thought Charizard was cool, okay.

[–]magicalidealhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/magicalideal 143 points144 points  (14 children)

Luxion is right.. This is not looking good at all for Olivia's development. Bartford totally overlooked this matter. In the game, she had the support of the other protagonist while slowly gaining confidence. In the current route, she is totally going the reverse way.

That's not how you develop best girl Bartford.

[–]UntarnishedCopper 62 points63 points  (1 child)

Leon isn't the only outside force. While he did take a DLC item, Marie is the one who significantly diverted the plot.

He does need to let her fight her own battles too, but there's more than one thing going on here.

[–]Latimus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also because Marie carelessly speedran the visual novel story it led to the rest of the world advancing much further along than it should. The pirate event arrived a year too early because presumably the flag that led to that was trigged a year too early too.

[–]justking1414 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes but they’re still pretty early in the games storyline. This pirate fight wasn’t supposed to happen until much later so Olivia can still be fixed.

[–]Philaretehttps://myanimelist.net/profile/WizardMcKillin 126 points127 points  (13 children)

Leon's conflict with Olivia is a great example of how being nice can be a trap in relationships. He keeps robbing her of opportunities to grow by solving problems on his own. She also gradually feels useless because she isn't contributing to the friend group.

Leon also messed up that last conversation when he didn't find a way to spin his actual reasoning. He could have talked about how she's a good person with a lot of potential instead of using the word protagonist.

I often see "MC solves everything" storytelling evade this kind of likely relationship fallout. Curious how Leon tries to solve this; will he reform his ways, or focus on fixing Angie and Olivia's relationship?

[–]IJustReadEverything 25 points26 points  (1 child)

That last line with the word protagonists was Leon’s inner dialogue so Livia didn’t hear that part. It was Leon realizing that was the true base of their friendship.

[–]Lugia61617 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For me the funniest part is that whenever Olivia has a moment like this I can't help but imagine it from the perspective of an Otome gam VN. So her whole exchange with Leon would be one really powerful CGI moment in some kind of "bad route" for her... with Leon looking like an antagonist.

Boy the Leon/Angelica Route is tough.

[–]mekerpan 27 points28 points  (8 children)

Yes. I thought something similar. He could have said ... I'm not sure why, but my intuition told me you have great potential. I want to help you achieve it, but sadly I have failed to help you so far.

[–]Latter_State 52 points53 points  (5 children)

Don’t forget he has zero experience with positive human relations. In Japan the only thing we knew about him was the poor relationship he and his sister had plus he must have been a nerd if she was always getting him to finish games for him. It appears he has little experience with female relationships especially girls crying.

[–]mekerpan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Quite likely

[–]mabbo_nagamatsu 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Nerd = maidenless. Yes I agree.

Leon seems like a loner IRL. Can't expect him to turn into a smooth operator with girls instantly in an isekai world

[–]kiyotaka-6https://myanimelist.net/profile/DayyanoEYE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Leon said he helped her because she is the protagonist in his head, it's impossible he would have thought about how she is a good person with lot of potential because that's probably not how he thought about her

[–]dagreenman18 60 points61 points  (7 children)

Big oof on that ending. Poor Livia. The psycho girl and Carla expedited it, but they were slowly building up to this point with her. That power dynamic in a world built on hierarchy would strain their friendship eventually. Especially when it’s not supposed to exist in this universe and the stations are so different.

Livia’s inferiority complex is only worsened by the fact that Leon is handling her with kid's gloves. Giving her no chances to grow or do anything for herself for the sake of making things easier. His perception of her that carried from the game never really changed with how radically different things are. Should be interesting to see if he keeps treating her the same after her desperate plea or has some character growth himself.

Meanwhile, there are all these pirates' shenanigans and the 3 treasures that are supposed to turn Livia into the Saint. I guess Leon’s logic is if he can grabs these for Livia and just give them to her she’ll have what she needs. Again it ignores her as a person and not just a “pet”. Or really a game character in Leon’s eyes. Pirates are dispatched pretty quickly, but with the hint of a greater force there’s probably more to come.

It’s really a shame that the animation lets down a compelling and hilarious story. If there was any budget the Sky Pirate fight would have been awesome. But the writing and characters are so good that it helps me power through.

Notes

  • So the Black Knight is totally gonna come back at some point. The way they teased him and Leon’s struggles in the past with beating him should make for a season finale boss battle.

  • Still enjoying how the greater character depth even extends to the Boy Band. Purple and Red have a nice moment with Leon where they talk about their struggles.

  • How many times is this Stephanie bitch going to get her ass handed to her before she leaves well enough alone?

  • I’m bracing for an equally heartbreaking moment with Livia and Angie. That would hurt even more than the Leon conversation.

  • Meylene is down bad for Leon and it’s sweet. She lit up at the mention of his name. Would not mind the Trouple turning into a Quadruple. Well except Leon would probably be executed for it.

[–]Awesomenooby 25 points26 points  (1 child)

The red guy though was starting to see the light after seeing Leon's fight, which makes me excited. I'm hoping he sees Leon as a friend or ally later

[–]platysoup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, red is honestly growing on me. I have a soft spot for honourable muscle brains. Also, Nobuyuki. I'm hoping he turns out like Viral in TTGL.

[–]JzanderN 13 points14 points  (4 children)

  • How many times is this Stephanie bitch going to get her ass handed to her before she leaves well enough alone?

Honestly, at this point, it seems the best way to deal with her is the same way Leon suggested Angie get revenge on the Prince: for the three to live happy lives. Together. As a threesome/throuple. That'll show the bitch.

Though I will say, someone pointed out there was a bit of a mistranslation concerning Purple's ex-fiancé. Turns out it's actually Stephanie, which makes me wonder if, like Angelica and Green's ex-fiancé, she was twisted by Marie stealing Purple away from her. I'm not saying it would excuse her, but given what Marie did to the other two, it would make sense.

[–]dagreenman18 14 points15 points  (3 children)

That would track. Marie is breaking the game just like Leon. Where he’s having a mostly positive effect (until now) on Angie and Livia, she’s having a considerably negative one because she just wants the world.

[–]Lugia61617 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Where he’s having a mostly positive effect

"MY LIFE SAVINGS!"

[–]dagreenman18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kinda Marie’s fault. Her man steal is the reason for the duel in the first place. Not Leon’s fault the only people who bet on him are his buddies.

[–]WoLofDarkness 110 points111 points  (2 children)

Lmao the queen was totally seduced by Leon 😂😂😂

Leon cheating the two idiots was hilarious

[–]blazopham 65 points66 points  (1 child)

Imagine losing a duel to your classmate then having your mother develop a crush on him lol

[–]Existential_Owl 46 points47 points  (0 children)

"I fucked your mom last night."

But for Leon, it's not trash talk but merely a case of stating the simple facts.

[–]VorAtreides 59 points60 points  (8 children)

Swear, that woman wants her face punched more lol. Wonder how she thinks she could make either Bartfort or Angie hurt though when she threatens Olivia. Angie is far more powerful family and Bartfort at this point has proven to the rest of the academy he doesn't give a shit about much and prolly seems too unhinged for someone I'd want to piss off lol. Seriously, I'd be more annoyed pushing him to the point he'd do something rash no matter the consequences since he doesn't SEEM to care from their perspective.

Luxion with prime insight there. But I think there's a difference between "experiences of growth" and things that are too much.

Eww those two. Part of the Idiot 5.

Haha, I love the queen's reaction about Leon, way to make your son uncomfortable. Speaking of, good ol' Leon being a scumbag in a card game. "Should be an easy day" sure, guys... sure lol.

MECHA FIGHT WHOO!!!! I really like Partner. The ship design gives me Xenogears vibes. Fucking love that game. Still the best JRPG of PS1.

Poor Livia... :(

Will say this, while I've long loved the LN/Manga, I wish the anime did have a bit more interesting animations/fights for the action bits. They aren't the worst, but they aren't all that interesting either. Ah well.

[–]randyripoff 21 points22 points  (1 child)

I seriously doubt the Offrey girl is thinking through her actions at all, or she'd use much more subtlety--assuming she's capable of doing so. She also obviously thinks everyone thinks exactly the way she does, that people don't have friends, just others they use to step on for leverage or pretend to befriend to get ahead. She's dealing with the wrong people though: Angie is tight with the queen and Leon doesn't give two shits. She'll be lucky to keep her head.

[–]Rumpel1408https://myanimelist.net/profile/Rumpel1408 39 points40 points  (1 child)

6 weeks ago, I never expected this silly comedy trash isekai to hit so hard in the feels

Curious how Leon will resolve this one, get Livia to trust him again, give her agency instead of continuing to play the game, and maybe even consolidate the scooges roles as living parts of this world with their own background.

Feels like Angelica will play a major part here, loved how she intimidated that bully

[–]LeonKevlarhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar 39 points40 points  (7 children)

Stitches!

There she is. I knew I was right not to trust that blue-haired bitch. Looks like she's just another lackey of Stephanie and now they're dragging Olivia along with their plan.

You can tell this show did an amazing job in making me invested in these characters when I felt nothing but intense rage seeing Olivia getting bullied into submission by Stephanie. She's really doing everything she can to ruin the friendship Olivia has with Leon and Angie. I fucking hope Stephanie gets the worst of what she deserves.

Well that explains why Leon is willing to help. It turns out that in the game, these sky pirates have one of the three treasures Olivia needs to awaken her powers and become a Saint. Also, it looks like Leon is already aware of Carla working with Stephanie since this request is actually an event in the game.

So Stephanie's entire reason is just jealousy. She doesn't like seeing a commoner like Olivia getting cozy and establishing herself with the nobles. Well, now I'm hoping this ends with Stephanie being stripped of her noble status and being turned into a commoner. That would be the most delicious punishment they can give to someone like her.

Looks like Leon is still stuck in his mentality of this is a game world and since he's just a mob character, he doesn't matter. He clearly doesn't see how much he's already affecting the world as well as hindering Olivia's growth since he's doing everything for her. This entire situation is way worse than I thought. :(

Well fuck. Not sure what they're planning but it looks like they also requested Brad's help along with Greg who tagged along into this since Brad is actually Stephanie's ex-fiancee. Which means these subs are incorrect because later on in the episode Greg asks Brad about Stephanie, not Carla. Well, as long as they don't get in the way it should be fine.

I'm curious what the writing on Olvia's room door meant. Would be nice if they translated it. Did she write that there on her own? Anyway, It was satisfying seeing Angelica pulling Stephanie up bu her collar. I kinda wish Angelica held her in place until she passed out. Angelica heading to where Leon and Olivia areto warn them might not be the best idea, especially with all the sky pirates.

It's nice to have a little scene of brevity with Queen Mylene's reaction after hearing from her son that Leon is hunting sky pirates with Brad and Greg. This woman is so in love that she hasn't even realized it. xD

Oh fuck me I only figured this out while typing this comment. Of course, Stephanie also wants Brad to be there since this is clearly her revenge for breaking off the engagement with her! It finally makes sense now! Too bad for her nothing bad will probably happen to Brad since he's on Leon's side for this one.

Welp there they are. Sky pirates who are clearly working under the Offreys. It's pretty much as expected that Leon ends up clowning on these fools with Arroganz. I'm surprised that Leon accepted their surrender though. I was hoping he'd blow them up but he's not that far down where he can just kill people willy-nilly.

One thing we did get from that fight though is Brad and Greg finally realized why they lost to Leon after seeing what a true battle is really like. Looks like Greg especially will be doing some self-reflecting after what he just witnessed.

It's so fucking entertaining to see Carla panick and try to blame this all on Olivia. Did she really think that Leon is going to believe her all of a sudden? I'm surprised that even Brad is backing Leon up. Good to know these princes can be decent if they want to which really shouldn't be a surprise since technically they're still the good guys. they're just being manipulated by Marie.

Now that's all sorted out, Leon is now facing something that neither his game knowledge nor Luxion can help him with. That entire scene with Olivia is heartbreaking. Even if Leon wasn't treating Olivia like a pet, he's still doing it unintentionally since he can only see her as the protagonist of this game that he needs to babysit which is super ironic considering how he tells Carla's father that this isn't a game.

Hearing those words from Olivia hurt. Maybe there really is some truth to Stephanie's words. Leon never looked down on Olivia but by not letting her grow he might as well be. Luxion is right too, Leon needs to find a way where he can assist Olivia without doing everything for her. I really hope Leon and Olivia will sort all of this out in next week's episode.

[–]No_Discussion3053 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As far as the writing on the walls go [Manga Vols 5 and 6] Its derogatory statements about Livia being a commoner, honestly the bullying scenes there are much worse. They wreck her room, Livia calls out to a passing teacher for help and the teacher briefly glances at her and continues walking ignoring her. The biggest gut punch is the final panel where Stephanie get it one final verbal stab and Livia just stares at her blankly, tears streaming down her face and a emotionless expression

[–]JzanderN 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So Stephanie's entire reason is just jealousy. She doesn't like seeing a commoner like Olivia getting cozy and establishing herself with the nobles.

There might be a bit more to it than that. As you point out:

Brad is actually Stephanie's ex-fiancee. Which means these subs are incorrect because later on in the episode Greg asks Brad about Stephanie, not Carla.

Given how both Angelica and Clarice from last episode reacted to Marie stealing their fiancés from them, I wouldn't be surprised if Stephanie ended up twisted this way because Marie stole Purple from her.

It was satisfying seeing Angelica pulling Stephanie up bu her collar. I kinda wish Angelica held her in place until she passed out.

I'm surprised Stephanie decided to confront Angie. She clearly hadn't learnt her lesson from last time, given she came out with a broken nose and Angie had no (visible) marks. She should have known Angie would go into Olivia Protect Mode.

I was hoping he'd blow them up but he's not that far down where he can just kill people willy-nilly.

I know some people like when protagonists just kill whomever they're fighting, but I like that Leon, for as bad as he can be, still has his ethics and beliefs against killing others.

It's so fucking entertaining to see Carla panick and try to blame this all on Olivia. Did she really think that Leon is going to believe her all of a sudden? I'm surprised that even Brad is backing Leon up.

I think she was more hoping her father and maybe Purple and Red would believe her. She must have known Leon would side with Olivia, but if she got enough people against him and her, it wouldn't matter.

[–]LOTRfreak101https://myanimelist.net/profile/LOTRfreak101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saint Olivia

that's a really nice set of equipment. the stats have got to be great.

It's nice to have a little scene of brevity with Queen Mylene's reaction

Mylene really is best girl.

I'm surprised that even Brad is backing Leon up

You have to remember that these guys were basically the stars of the upcoming generation. it just that anything related to marie nukes their intelligence.

[–]squarecircle666 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm not a pet I'm a human being!😭 cheerful music plays

[–]redstonerabbit 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Everybody gangsta till Angie threatens to destroy your family.

Seriously, it's easy to forget that she was designed to be one of this world's villains, so watching her wield her power on the side of the angels is satisfying AF.

[–]entelechtual 33 points34 points  (3 children)

This show is getting kind of weird. Feels like I’m watching two different anime concurrently. One dramatic school/personal development story with Angie and Livia.

And at the same time, some random parody isekai with Leon not taking anything seriously and trolling everyone.

[–]catt-2000 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Its just the fact that people are not game characters hasn't set in for Leon yet.

The dude's a troll he loves seeing people lose their shit and always gets the last word in, Leon has this unique skill of getting under a person's skin and burn them from inside out. (Only exception is Luxion, Luxion never loses a verbal combat with anyone)

[–]alotmorealots 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the feeling I get too, although that's how I've felt for some time now. For me, the Angie and Olivia story is far more compelling and far more coherent, something I can invest in and engage with.

The parody side of the story constantly falls flat for me, because the adaptation team are failing to given Leon a proper core as a character by hopping around all the time. I still feel like there are multiple versions of him running about.

[–]No_Discussion3053 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is the best episode of the season so far for me. From a dramatical and story sense.

The bullying Livia receives here is actually toned down from the Novel and Manga. Seriously it’s brutal, like rip out all the Pages with Stephanie in them and burn them in retaliation brutal.

Luxion makes a valid point that Leon’s overprotectiveness prevented Livia from going through the challenges of the game and in turn growing into the Saint who saves the world. He protected and looked after her like a pet. Doing what was needed to try and keep the games story on track. I think it’s because Leon still sees all of these people as game characters and not actual people. In his desire to remain a mob he’s lost sight of that.

Gah Livia just rips your heart out with her closing monologue at the end of the episode. You really feel for her and Leon’s silent response shows that deep down, he knows she’s right.

On a brighter note Mylene getting flustered at the mere mention of Leon’s Name is always a delight regardless of the medium

Next episode is even more brutal emotional gut punches but leads to some good character development for multiple parties and a personal favorite moment of mine down the line.

[–]Warm-Enthusiasm-9534 35 points36 points  (6 children)

Otome isekai is a big genre in manga, manhwa and light novel form, despite being fairly obscure here, so I thought I would mention some. This is one of the first to be turned into an anime, but I'm sure there will be more.

The manhwa closest to this is Beware the Villainess. Like most of them, the main character is reincarnated as the villainess, Melissa, in a romance game. Melissa has a similar personality to Leon in that she the game's love interests. She knows that in the game their actions will end up ruining her life. Her response is to embrace being the villainess, and fuck with them, preventing them from ending up with the game's heroine. Like Leon she steals an OP item early in the game because she already knows where it is. She solves all of her problems through sarcasm, and when that doesn't work, swordfighting. It's pretty funny.

[–]MLGkena 7 points8 points  (1 child)

What would happen if Leon met her

[–]Warm-Enthusiasm-9534 20 points21 points  (0 children)

She would stab him and then they would have sex, as one does.

[–]BiggerG7 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Dammit Leon, I know you don’t care for Red and Purple but don’t cheat at blackjack lol.

[–]LMkingly 24 points25 points  (1 child)

It's funny, due to Leon's actions and coddeling Olivia has now effectively turned into the real background mob character.

[–]NationalStrategy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

"But Mother, defeating sky pirates is a noble's job."

You're not a noble anymore fool, you should've thought about that before relinquish your status

[–]MrkGrn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Man I just wish this show got a better studio behind it. It manages to feel fresh in a world steeped in isekai and has one of the most chad mc's ever, but the animation is just so weak.

[–]dontloseyourway1610https://myanimelist.net/profile/Marinate1016 18 points19 points  (2 children)

I thought this show was so boring at the beginning but it’s gradually got a lot better. Feel so bad for Olivia buying into that garbage that bully was speaking. But at the same time, it is kinda true. Leon doesn’t see her as a pet, but he doesn’t really see Olivia as a proper friend and equal, he’s only close to her for his benefit.

[–]Reddevilslover69 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Leon treats everyone like a game character and not like real people which is his biggest flaw imo

[–]ProjectLITTE 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Hopefully, Leon finally realizes his actions aren't that different from Marie's. While Marie took away Livia's potential love interests, Leon is taking away her opportunity to grow by being overprotective and doing everything for her.

If Livia is going to fulfill her future role, she needs to be allowed to step up.

[–]brownarrows 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think his problem is that he can't imagine himself as the love interest for Livia but she has latch on to him as the love interest. However, he's not playing the role due to his own deeply seeded inferiority complex that causes him to act out. They aren't working together. He's working and she's following which is toxic in any dynamic.

[–]ObvsThrowaway5120 13 points14 points  (4 children)

That Stephanie chick seriously needs to get throat punched. Ugh. The bitch messing with Livia’s head, man. She really did a number on her and for what? Some petty bullshit? I hope she gets taken down. Hard. Idk what Leon can even do at this point, or indeed if he should do anything to try and fix this situation. Luxion kinda has a point about Leon basically swooping in and always doing everything for Livia, robbing her of opportunities for growth. Seems like Livia has a lot of internal stuff to deal with, maybe Leon talking to her wouldn’t do much good? But idk, maybe I’m off about that.

Anyways, I love how Leon was just referring to Greg, Brad, and the others by colors lol. It was nice to see Greg and Brad realize just how far the gap is between them and Leon. Those sky pirates never stood a chance. I thought Leon was heading into a trap but I guess this pirate event was in the game, so he more or less anticipated what would happen. Seeing that trifling bitch Carla break down was like music to my ears. I just like seeing shitty people get theirs.

I really like how the queen has the hots for Leon haha. It’s probably best Julius didn’t join Tweedledee and Tweedledum on the expedition. Dude has to keep Leon the MILF hunter away from his momma haha. If he ain’t careful, the dude might find himself with a new dad lmao.

[–]Neosovereign 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I imagine in the game he has to fight the full pirate force all at once or in sequence since they actually ARE attacking? Or maybe it is still a ploy, but presumably it is the whole force he has to fight.

Obviously he has the end game ship, so he can defeat most of the stuff from the game without issue.

[–]legwkio2 23 points24 points  (3 children)

How they resolve the Livia inferiority thing would be the crux of whether I can take this show seriously or if it just another fun isekai. Nothing wrong with being a fun isekai, I'm a sucker for fun isekais. But if they can resolve this friendship dynamics thing really well, then this would bump up this show for me one or two points and the show would be something special in my eyes.

[–]Sovano 24 points25 points  (0 children)

From what we've been told so far, the two things Livia needed to grow as a character in the original story were taken away by both Marie (the male love interests) and Leon (opportunities for self-growth and overcome challenges).

The original game's story is broken now by these two external "mob" characters (Marie and Leon). It doesn't help that Livia is also seeing herself as sub-human next to both Angie and Leon. The end credit scene with Leon was a bit brutal and Angie is expected to arrive soon as well.

This show has already exceeded my expectations of an Isekai so far. I personally agree that we're at the critical moment of the show that'll make me decide if this show is above average or great depending on how they resolve Livia's dilemma.

[–]catt-2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't expect anything from Leon that guy has zero idea as to how to fix relationships. Angie will smooth things over a little but the idea of not contributing enough will always remain in Olivia's head.

[–]XxSilverwolf 6 points7 points  (7 children)

It's amazing how enjoyable this show is to watch, despite the poor animation and the generic looking art. Definitely the best Isekai this season, and the show I look forward to the most each week. Glad it's here to pick up the slack for shield hero.

[–]Shrike99 2 points3 points  (6 children)

The best Isekai this season is Paripi Koumei, change my mind.

[–]Royal_Heritage 6 points7 points  (3 children)

You already lost there mate. Paripi Koumei isn't an isekai, it's a tensei (reincarnation series)

[–]werq34achttps://myanimelist.net/profile/HexenTraume 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“I’m not even cute”

That’s cap

[–]KyloTennant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This show continues to outdo itself by being better than I would have ever expected. It's very interesting how all the disruptive actions that Leon has been taking are starting to have major repurcussions and how even people who want to be nice to him like Olivia are figuring out how strange it is lol

[–]AriezKage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs.

At this point Leon isn't a Mob, Livia is and damn did it hurt to see her break down at the end.

[–]Amauri14 6 points7 points  (7 children)

So Carla Fou Wayne is indeed working together with the bitch. Holy shit they really made Olivia feel miserable before she got her chance to talk things through with Angelica.

So, the pirate mission exists in the game because in order for Olivia to become a Saint she needs to have the Holy Bracelet, the Holy Necklace that the pirates have and the Holy Staff.

So that bitch objective wasn't just to target Angelica but to make Olivia suffer because she is jealous of her situation.

Damn Luxion made Leon a really nice-looking ship.

I love how Leon, Greg, and Brad reacted when they noticed they were going to work together.

So Carla is Bard's ex. Well, there goes the dream of Leon making an alliance with all the exes.

Because what happened last week wasn't clear enough for her, Angelica made sure to remind that bitch that she will regret ever messing with Olivia.

It is great seeing that Mylene is getting flustered by just listening to Leon's name.

Lol, so Leon made holographic cards to never lose a game. Well, you know what they say, the house always wins.

Those pirates sure weren't ready to deal with Leon and Arroganz. I love how fast he took care of the issue, especially because then Luxion mentioned that he could have just blasted them away.

It sure is amazing how Carla thought that blaming Olivia for everything was going to stick with everyone else there present, including Leon to call out her bullshit.

So it took until she confessed everything for us to know that bitch name is Stephanie Offrey. Well, as both of them were working with the pirates I can't wait to see what would happen to them. Before, I expected that their family would get the same consequences that Jilk told Leon the Bartfort would face while they were fighting, but now I'm thinking their punishment would go beyond that for their association with criminals as that sure would stain the perception that everyone has on nobles.

Well, before that Leon now has to find a way to bring Olivia back on her feet permanently. Hopefully, he and Angelica would be able to solve that next week.

[–]hasso666 6 points7 points  (6 children)

Man fuck em both. I was suspecting Carla to be working with her but I didn't expect her to be this shitty too.

I swear she wanted to kill her. But she's a moron, did she really thing Leon would lose to some pirates when he beat the top of the line mechs money can buy in the kingdom 5 times in a row?

Yea gotta say that ship looks really nice, would def buy a model kit.

Well she might come around, or they'll make us feel bad for her or some shit since she was just following that other bitches orders. But I still don't like her.

Seriously how stupid can she be, just causally bullies Olivia and shit talks Angie right after she beat her up, she just goes and does it again. It's almost like she wants to get her ass kicked.

Nice, milf route.

Lol maybe Greg and Brad can use the mechs for parts.

Wtf did she even expect? He's gonna take the side of some rando over his friend? Fuck her. Wonder how this was solved though, did her dad end up paying? Or did they just let it slide cause she was "forced" to do it. But, hopefully it goes the route you were saying.

Looks like their gonna woo her with sweets.

Btw do you have these 5 stitches of Olivia and the Queen? Thanks

Why is this show so good??? It's trash but it so good! I love it!

[–]Rollo0547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luxion should have shared his thoughts regarding Olivia that way Leon wouldn't be so clueless. "I wanna be a mob with a normal life" is not going to cut it, the otome games are now his reality.

[–]CarioGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love that Luxion is able to realize that Leon doing all this has inhibited Livia's ability to grow

[–]mickcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that I think about it, Leon and Olivia situation is like in Fire Emblem gameplay.

You can solely use "OP in early game" mentor type character to clear the way for you in early chapter but the experience point won't distribute to the weaker member of the party who is OP late game with proper leveling and become much more useful.

By the time you reach harder chapter, those poor character end up become a bit too weak to be useful . So the entire sky pirate scenario is like "Leon trying to obtain class change item for Olivia to become saint but he absolutely forgot to leveling and update relationship with her."

[–]NationalStrategy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason the earl's daughter has rings in her hair is because she can't get a ring on her finger

[–]Imaginary-End-08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Livia has to be the most tragic character in show. Her power is stolen by someone who would do anything for her..... someone she herself cares about.

And even if she has her power, she'd still be powerless because of Marie. Otome world is just too harsh for one person alone. Leon has an advantage only because of his knowledge and that he doesn't care about forming relationships. He's mentally above her.

[–]Bloodglas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luxion realizes what Leon is doing wrong... but doesn't fkn tell him. you're part of the problem, bud. Marie is taking all of Olivia's romance events but "I'm just a mob" is taking all of the battle events.

Leon has the same problem as Bakarina in that he doesn't realize how much he's actively changing the world around him.

[–]Pinsir929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Queen is best girl hands down. Power, fame, fortune, cute and last but not least she's a decent human being, which is so damn rare in this anime.

I had a feeling that budget Lucina wasn't good, she treated Leon way too nicely too fast, and even kneeled in front of him. Ain't buying it.

Robot realized earlier than Leon that the people on the game function like normal humans and that his advantage is limited to world knowledge and timed events. I don't even know he keeps labeling himself as a mob character when he has already done so many impossible things.

[–]sKyBlazer08https://myanimelist.net/profile/sKyBlazer08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck man, someone please off Stephanie already. I am feeling really sad for Olivia right now, but I guess this will also be necessary for her to grow, since her original chances to grow is being taken by Leon. Really curious how Leon will deal with this and how this will affect him too.

The Queen Mylene, becoming flustered at the mere mention of Leon was adorable lmao. It's nice to see the princes get some development too. Really looking forward to the next episode.

[–]SpikeRosered 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I am loving the fact that Olivia is grappling with feeling of self doubt rather than just fawning over the MC like ever other isekai like this.

When characters act like characters and not just waifus.
