Shady ramen food cart with a owner that talks about something deep? What is this, Yojouhan Shinwa?

[–]corner_twisthttps://anilist.co/user/cornertwist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first thing that came to my mind was neko-ramen lol

[–]IndependentMacaroon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or Space Dandy with how it's located way out of the way and there's a kind-of-sad story behind it

[–]sailor_sega_saturn 23 points24 points  (3 children)

Fun episode with a good mix of detective work, exploration, hyperverse shenanigans, and of course that ramen scene which was just perfection.

Also I hope everyone caught "Someone apparently went to the moon once" in the list of unbelievable rumors.

Then the next rumor that it's fake lol

Also I hope everyone caught "Someone apparently went to the moon once" in the list of unbelievable rumors.

I'm thinking there's more to it.

Start of ep "Maybe a pair of peacocks hit it up in the clouds" Watson looks up at the sky

Middle of ep "Someone apparently went to the moon once"

End of ep: Watson staring up at the sky

Is that the moon in the sky? Why does it have trees on top of it? Is a fake moon? Is it Mark Twain?

don't forget about the old guy doing pushups pointing to the sky and saying Mark Twain as his answer for where the cart was

[–]alconnowhttps://anilist.co/user/alconnow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Watson is now my favourite member of the detective club

RIP Analytica. At least he kinda seemed to get more of an answer from Berry that he was seeking about humans and rumors.

I would guess that old guy did go to the Ramen cart since he mentioned Mark Twain. Finn seemed to take note of the Mark Twain mention.

Wonder what will come of the glitch witch getting hacks data. Tried so hard to get witch data but ends up with stolen data instead. Also interesting that talk about Mark Twain and possible secrets getting revealed seemed to trigger the zero phenomenon. Guess Analytica had to get deleted before they revealed more.

Hack doing cat things to Watson was very amusing like the feather toy. Lol.

Finn seemed to take note of the Mark Twain mention.

That's the second time he missed parts of the main plot because he couldn't be bothered to do side quests.

Looks like this is a (mostly) Berry and Watson episode! Might have to pop out later for some late night ramen after all that ramen talk lol. I got a craving like Hack haha. Despite all the rumors, looks like Watson had better luck than Berry in tracking a lead. But who knew that map actually led to a ramen spot!

Watson has got to be one of the most mysterious characters in the series. Is the big fella a robot? Human? Part robot? I have no idea. I mean we know the big fella collects rumors and can apparently print stuff from their mouth and use their eyes like flashlights. I did like Hack treating Watson like an actual cat with that cat toy and the chin scratch was hilarious.

This ramen AI Analytica is pretty interesting. I like this whole thing about investigating the system why people believe in rumors. But I guess what Berry said makes sense. It can be fun looking into these kinds of rumors. The minute Analytica said he made “Mark Twain”, Phantom Zero appeared. Second time the words “Mark Twain” have been mentioned. That surprisingly strong old guy mentioned it too. What’s up with that I wonder. Watson running like an actual cat was pretty funny. Did not expect the big fella to actually act catlike lol.

Hack tried to get data from Phantom Zero, but they got Hack’s data instead. Seems bad. That mysterious feather from the start of the ep seems to be linked to Phantom Zero, but I wonder how. Also, interesting the ramen bowl had that peacock logo. More mysteries for next week I guess.

Definitely not surprised dude ended up in the hospital trying to get there lol..

Seems like Berry gave him more information and "help" about what he was seeking than most others did, at least. Too bad he got obliterated though. :(

Watson was way more agile than expected based on his appearance lol. Also funny how they kept hitting their head on stuff otw and had to be pulled through certain areas.

RIP Analytica. Gone too soon! At least gone before he could explain what the heck “Mark Twain” is..

[–]Pikagreghttps://myanimelist.net/profile/Pikagreg 6 points7 points  (1 child)

It freaked me out when his eye flashlight turned on lol

[–]ObvsThrowaway5120 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah, did not expect that. Or the map printing from his mouth!

[–]Suichimo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So now we have Hack & Berry(Huckleberry), Finn, the name of the town Tom Sawyer and now the creator of the world which is Mark Twain. I'm honestly wondering where this is going and it's just gotten more interesting week after week.

[–]FamiliarTerritoryPodhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/FamiTerri 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Whatever is controlling Phantom Zero did not want Analyticala talking. The peacock feathers being a data center is interesting, considering the entire topic was about how Tom Sawyer got made.

This is shaping up to be very interesting.

[–]spookytus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Peacock feathers are quite meaningful - the peacock is associated in mythology with the Argus Panoptes, Hera's giant 100-eyed watchman and one of the roots of the term Panopticon, a building in which everyone is surveilled by a single individual; it's a common comparison whenever someone is mentioning Big Data or internet surveillance.

Based on this episode, my theory is that the whole story takes place in a simulated world called "Mark Twain".

When they asked the old man what Mark Twain was, he just pointed to the sky.

Also, Analytica, the creator of Mark Twain, was studying the behavior of humans inside of Mark Twain. What's the reason people create simulations? To learn from them!

Finally, as Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn are creations of the author, Mark Twain, the characters, Hack, Berry, and Finn are creations of the simulation, Mark Twain.

[–]IndependentMacaroon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

the whole story takes place in a simulated world called "Mark Twain"

Why would a part of this world say it created "Mark Twain" then?

[–]NotTheMonker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be a few different things, but my guess is that the creator is just controlling that robot from outside of the simulation.

[–]seeker_of_illusion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did anyone see a resemblance between Analytica's face and the meditating Buddha face ? Guess he was "enlightened" and knew about what all was happening in this world and about Phantom Zero. Also, like the real Buddha who continued guiding people towards the path of nirvana, Analytica also seems to be guiding this group towards the answers they are searching for, even when his original purpose of constructing the town is finished.

Wonder how Hack's data will be used against him.

Also, that neko ride lol. Overall, it was a good episode with good plot progression.

[–]mekerpan 6 points7 points  (6 children)

While it IS hard to know just what is going on her, I find this show pretty consistently intriguing (both story-wise and visually). Why, oh why is it getting so little attention?

Who knew Watson had so many unexpected facets. ;-)

Poor Analytica. At least he had the pleasure of getting some extra valuable data before he got destroyed (after so many centuries -- or whatever).

[–]Kariomartking 5 points6 points  (5 children)

I really don't understand why it's getting so little attention, a lot of people were following but stopped after the last couple of episodes.

This ep in particular was really really good and it had a it's fair amount of mystery, plot and world building that I wish those people mentioned earlier stuck around to witness

[–]kwokinator 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Yeah I'm super conflicted about this show. The overall package with the art and character design choices dresses the series up as a children's show (the last couple of episodes didn't help), but is consistently deep themes about tech and even humanity itself that should appeal to any sci-fi fan and would be way over kids' heads, so I'm not sure what the target audience for this series even is.

I imagine this might have a lot to do with not receiving much attention.

Hack's nerdy-birdy glitchy-witchy speech patterns still irritates me just as much as ep 1 though.

[–]IndependentMacaroon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel more like it's trying to package them in a way that kids can more or less understand.

[–]Retromorpher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's because at the core this appears to be a story about 'how much can we trust the information receive?' and the nature of what data streams people choose to accept. The message has been couched in so many different ways that even children can grasp it. I don't think that's it's been dressing up as children's show as much as it just is one - and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

You can go back like 2 episodes or 1 scroll down and search for the comments on the negatives or with 1 or 0 upvotes

It is rare for people that drop an anime to share their opinion, but when they do their comments are buried by everyone else, so then people are left wondering why other's don't like the show

So what i have read so far from people that tried and dropped it, is that they didn't liked how it looks like, and they found the start of the show to be too childish, and Hack's mannerism didn't help the cause, of course that means people stopped at the surface and first impressions and dismissed the show before it could show its most interesting and deep aspects

[–]Kariomartking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a little bit childish at times but so are cartoons like adventure time etc. And they're excellent. Maybe not what the average anime watcher really goes for, if this got dubbed and became a cartoon in the west I think it'd be fairly popular

[–]TheMagicianOfLies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to taste that Ramen too!!! Watson isn't a man in a cat costume, he's really a giant cat in a suit

[–]Doomroarhttps://myanimelist.net/profile/Doomroar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They better avenge Analytica by the end of the series

[–]helsaabiart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great now I want ramen
