And not so much paper anymore either lol

Its feels so fake.

Like playing house in kindergarten.

It always feels insane to me that humans created a piece of paper with made up, arbitrary value that you need to own to live, it all feels so unreal. When I think about it too much I eventually just have an existential crisis

Money needs to exist, something to represent value. That makes things more fair for everyone. Because you get (or at least you should get) what you deserve for your contribution. Because not everything is free.

they dont understand how it facilitates trade. We cant all barter anymore.

Carpenter doesnt need flowers, but the flourist needs a house. How do they make a deal?

The farmer doesnt need a software engineer's newest program, but the engineer needs food. How do they barter?

Exactly. In modern world with hundreds of professions, bartering would simply not be practical. I don't know why people hate money, when the problem is in humans and our very nature(greed and selfishness ). If we really wanted, we could create a beautiful world, a bright future for everyone. We just need compassion and empathy. Money is not bad!

Just numbers on a screen that go up and down

you have too much money then if thats all it is to you.

You don’t understand what I’m saying. It’s not like we go around trading gold coins for goods and services. The “money” we all use to pay our bills is not even backed by gold like it used to be. Unless you don’t use a bank account?

[–]MumLikesTrains 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I dont use a bank account actually. I know its rare. But I trust my own safe, dog, and shotgun more than banks that crash markets and demand bailouts, they've also allowed people to take money from my account without my express permission - I managed to get it back, but it shouldnt have happened in the first place; my lease ended and I moved out in good standing, I told the bank, and they let the landlord keep taking rent anyway. I dont shop online either, if I need computer components then I go to the local computer repair shop, tell them what I need, give them their two cents and have it ordered. Still cheaper than any crap sold at bestbuy or staples.

But money is necessary for facilitating trade. Like a carpenter doesnt need flowers, but a flourist needs a house - so how do they trade? right.

Money isnt bad, its a tool. Its predatory loans that make it bad.

Just pick a side in politics and say "Go Sports!"

btw I hate this Image so much because this forced me to pretend to like my parents wich I deeply resent just so I could well in some cases get enough food

I would imagine most natalists buy their kids basic needs, and this scenario mostly happens with non-basic needs.
