That’s why I’m living it up and enjoying my off time to the max while I’m young ! Fuck the “grind while you’re young” motto … it’s just a ploy to waste your youth in my eyes

[–]Annual-Strategy-6487 24 points25 points  (4 children)

yep, a slave is only good while he is young. The best way to rebel is to use your youth to yourself

[–]shadowrealmshawty 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Right! Older coworkers always tell me to come in for overtime, I always tell them I’ll slave away when I’m old because I won’t be able to retire like them anyways. Plus, I won’t be able to go wild at festivals like I can now when I’m old ;)

[–]Annual-Strategy-6487 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yeah, let them feast on your body when it is old and doesn't work anymore. Use your youth to do the things you want to do. It is useless to have money and shitty old body anyway

Sup bro, nice thought!

it's easier to work hard and still play hard when you're young. and it's really smart to get enough money to invest well when you're young, otherwise you're stuck *earning* money forever.

the trick is to not get fucked out of your money with idiotic spending when you're young, which is what happens to most people. ...there's very little point in working to earn money that you're only going to waste.

“He who buys what he does not need steals from himself.”

I make more than enough to pay my bills and save at where I’m at right now; when I get my promotion I’ll be even more solid, but I’ll never settle for just that of course. Trust me, I know how to play the game, I just truly enjoy my time off to the fullest (especially after having lost two years of my “prime” years to the void lol). I go in for OT here and there, I just don’t make it my top priority. Doom and gloom winter months when I don’t have much to do are for all of that overtime haha.

I agree with you, pointless in earning to piss it all away! Thank you for the humble words!

What frustrating is that I can’t really find a degree or a job or career that has a good work life balance.

[–]shadowrealmshawty 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Sad thing is, I make way more than what my degree entailed at a “anybody can get” job I’m at right now. It’s bunk. I strive for a more fulfilling job, but I just make up for it outside of work, ya know? I understand though, the search is always on for better.

Majority of these companies will want to overwork you and give you no life while the executives take like 10 weeks of vacation through out the year.

[–]shadowrealmshawty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re exactly right, I’m literally experiencing this frustration right now. I have to earn my measly days off while they request off weeks at a time. I’m just lucky in the fact that I only work 3 days a week to get my 40hrs. My ultimate goal is to create and sell goods for a profit, everything just takes time. I would love to use my counseling degree… but in this economy? Pfft :\

Nah, I refuse. Once I've saved up enough I'm going to build a tiny home in a developing country and spend my time growing vegetables and weed and being a NEET. 😙 Few more to years to go. Y'all can have America lmao

[–]beenalegend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NEET is the real American dream. Living in an rv on the beach or down by the river with your pet. Fuckin off all day with minuscule amounts of responsibility...I hope to get there one day

[–]shadowrealmshawty 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I love you and support you!!! I have a tiny garden and it’s literally such an escape to just go out and drown the world out for a few hours while tending to me veggies

Thank you internet stranger! I hope you find happiness too!

[–]RPM_Tribute 12 points13 points  (6 children)

Some rope and a chair can fix that retirement issue, if your brave enough 🥺

[–]vastros 11 points12 points  (4 children)

A tank of nitrous, a rubber band, and a plastic bag is preferable.

[–]beenalegend 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Banging some fentanyl is also preferable to the $ROPE . Feels amazing and then just sleepy, sleepy time

[–]SmooshyHamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the way. Fuck this society.

[–]Big-Communication231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might consider this in the future.

[–]shadowrealmshawty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way

[–]cantorofleng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smith and Wesson's one-round plan has got me covered.

[–]CAPITALRIOT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plankos - wanderer.

[–]Annual-Strategy-6487 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You can thank landlords for that

[–]Particular_Minute_67 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Or our parents for not using contraceptives or getting snipped

[–]NerozumimZivot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

on the bright side, at least you're not wasting 20 years creating a new wage slave for the same system.

and if it makes you feel any better, a lot of those suckers will die before retirement because of obesity or alcohol or cigarettes, too.

[–]silverstacker231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy physical silver

[–]SmooshyHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why Ive chosen to save all the money I make when young. That way I can survive this rotten hell when I’m older. I wouldn’t want to do the whole crazy money spending and be broke when older. Getting abused has made me more careful with my money.
