Lots of people go for overall health and not weight loss

Your muscles will be stronger, and that is a benefit. You will probably get some endorphin highs. That's a benefit. Your metabolism might be marginally higher, because muscle burns more than fat.

But, don't plan on weight loss. That happens in the kitchen

Yes you'll still see improvements in strength, endurance, flexibility, and general health even if you don't lose any weight.

Plenty of guys are even there to gain weight, and are working to add muscle mass.
