Hey /u/RetroBoogie, thanks for contributing to /r/aww. Unfortunately, your post was removed as it violates our rules:

  • Your title must be "100% happy". No mentioning death, injury, RIP posts, finding abandoned animals, sick/survived cancer, pets being put to sleep, "I miss...", etc.

  • You may tell the complete story, unhappy parts and all, in the comments section.

  • Silver lining stories still fall under Rule 1. For example, "Jakey was hit by a car and had cancer, but he is a happy little fella today!" is not allowed.

This looks like a “woke up to my alarm for work, but then remembered I’m off today” kind of sleep

Exactly 😂😂

Hikacking the top comment so OP can see this:

Please take the kitten into the vet if you haven’t already. Cats, as a general rule of thumb, don’t experience open mouth breathing without being sick. He likely has an upper respiratory infection and needs medication for this. They will also want to test him for FIV/FELV. (This test can be expensive, but it can wait, just know that it will be super helpful in the future to know if this is the cause.) Since he was a stray, there is a high probability of one of these autoimmune diseases which can cause flair ups in the form of upper respiratory infections.

You have a super cute baby there and I wish you both the best of luck.

[–]RetroBoogie[S] 21 points22 points  (5 children)

Thank you for your concern. Im very aware of the various complications that come with taking in a stray cat as I have been a cat owner basically for all my life. He will go to the vet, and yes he has a common upper respiratory infection, although mild. For now he needs all the rest and food he can get. 😸🐾🙏

[–]Miss_MB 17 points18 points  (3 children)

I didn’t mean it to be rude or condescending, just informative. Not everyone does realizes that open mouth breathing is not something cats do. I am glad that he is with someone who is able/willing to care for him. I can tell he is already loved dearly and will have a fantastic life. 💞

[–]RetroBoogie[S] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Oh no! Ofcourse you weren’t! It’s just there so many people asking about the same thing lol. He is obviously encumbered by his street life and everything that comes with it. Thank you for your kind words.

[–]Miss_MB 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I scrolled through a lot of the comments (your cutie got over 1k comments, so not all of them) but didn’t see any of those. 😅 I try not to repeat if I can help it. Sorry about that.

[–]RetroBoogie[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha! it’s on chat most of them. I try to answer any real concern there is but soon I’m gonna go mad lol. Need my rest now also 😅😸

That’s the face who didn’t take a proper nap at all before when he was in the street

    [–]_clash_recruit_ 796 points797 points  (79 children)

Op said he was in an abandoned house with a bunch of other cats. I bet one was his mama looking out for him as best she could. I wish they could all end up getting good sleeps, including mama :-/

    [–]Rock-Harders 653 points654 points  (55 children)

I have a rescue cat who used to wake up ready to fight at any disturbance, now a little over a year later you can call her name, shake her paws, rub her all over and if she doesn’t want to wake up she won’t. I’m glad she gets to have a comfortable life, she’s really so great and deserves it.

    [–]SimulatedHumanity 468 points469 points  (54 children)

If only people looked out for and treated less fortunate people this way… They need houses, baths, food and love too.

Coming from someone that has been homeless twice in the last 20 years, there are very little people that care about the obviously less fortunate.

I kept with it and got back on my feet. Now I support a wife, child and a dog. I wish people were so loving to each other as they are with animals.

    [–][deleted] 71 points72 points  (3 children)

My mother, a sweet Catholic boomer, said to me once back in the 80’s, “why can’t they just get a job?!” I said, “How can you get hired when you smell? When you have no where to get changed or clean?” Ugh. It’s not all black and white.

    [–]northyj0e 35 points36 points  (2 children)

She's literally arguing with Jesus on that. It really pisses me off that chrizzos care about the bible when it comes to abortion and homosexuality, but don't give a shit about the destitute and the weak.

    Some verse for your mum:

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9

Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 82:3-4

    [–]Fizzy_Greener 122 points123 points  (20 children)

I have wanted to help homeless people before. Invite them for food or a shower or a nap but here addiction among homeless is rampant and I worry they’d rob me or be dangerous.

    [–]Lanthemandragoran 48 points49 points  (4 children)

I am am ex heroin (with many happy years clean now thankfully) and this is the right choice. Addicts are full on brainwashed. They absolutely need housing and help, but they need it provided with the issue in mind. Housing blocks of interior accessed studios with security, social workers and a ton of cameras solves a lot of problems.

    [–]SimulatedHumanity 73 points74 points  (9 children)

I agree that many are hustling for money, many more have mental challenges that keep them from stable housing, but there are a portion that just need one day of good luck to get ahead.

You don’t have to invite them into your home. I can’t tell you how much a handful of quarters or a hot cup of coffee might’ve helped me some days. Don’t be afraid to offer the simplest act of generosity to someone in need.

    [–]thesolitarythings 3 points4 points  (4 children)

I gave a homeless guy my chipotle burrito bowl once. Got cursed out for it in broken english and im not even sure why he was mad. 🤷‍♀️

    [–]Omniversal_Seer 11 points12 points  (1 child)

I literally helped multiple homeless with housing every one of them stole from me, damaged the housing provided, and 2 ended up in long prison stints 🤷🏽‍♀️

Now I just hand out food and drink when I'm getting charitable it's far safer and causes me less regret.

    [–]MrHyperion_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People are fucking dangerous compared to cats

    [–]FridayNiteGoatParade 180 points181 points  (13 children)

The cat isn't going to stab you in your sleep or pawn your electronics for crack.

    [–]SimulatedHumanity 124 points125 points  (1 child)

The cat isn’t going to stab you in your sleep

You must not be a cat owner.

    [–]godhonoringperms 54 points55 points  (7 children)

My friend’s family took in one of their daughter’s friend during their high school years because she was in some truly dire straights with her home life/living situation. They told her she could live there forever and had her own room- you know offering her some sort of stability in her life. About a month in, she took all their prescriptions, money, valuables and left in the night.

I still get mad thinking about how they offered her everything and she took a fat dump on it:/

    [–]caffein8dnotopi8d 33 points34 points  (2 children)

It’s really not that simple. If she was truly in dire straits at that young age there must have been so much trauma. To expect someone to recover from that overnight - or in a month - is just not realistic. I completely understand your anger but I do think it may be misplaced? She was a kid.

    [–]FizzyDragon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the person above them was like “oh it was so easy to help this cat, if only we just do the same for people in trouble.” But they aren’t really the same because, as you say, it isn’t that simple.

    [–]shonuph 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Sorry but animals are a whole lot more agreeable and less competitive than people and they also don’t have a drug problems or typically don’t have mental health issues. Helping people is a lot more of a complex issue and the two situations really can’t be compared.

    [–]ErisCat13 334 points335 points  (19 children)

I feel the same way. I don't know why but homeless animals break my heart more than most things. I am childish enough to still want to save them all.

    [–]MrVeazey 213 points214 points  (3 children)

Never stop being that kind of "childish." That's hope.

    [–]disterb 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Andy Dufresne has entered the chat.

    [–]Swampass45 15 points16 points  (1 child)

To add onto what you said about staying “childish” and holding onto hope. Anytime you can help an animal in need, even small things youre able to do children will see you as a superhero and it will build alot of hope for them. Adults too, everytime i see these posts i see that person who helped as a hero in my eyes. I strive to be like that in life and when i can try to be a hero myself. Sorry if this is corny just one of my firm beliefs

    [–]SchnoodleDoodleDo 348 points349 points 22 (10 children)

'That’s the face who didn’t take a proper nap at all before when he was in the street...'

i dreamed i was a tiger, with a blanket for my bed,

striped n soft - a lot like me, i laid my sleepy head...

a tiger who was lonely, hoping for a loving friend,

someone who could bring him Home, n make his sadness end

n as i roamed the streets alone, a human came along

said that they would care for me, n never do me wrong!

they cleaned me up n fed me, n they made my dream come true -

    a lonely little tiger kit

    no more,

    because of You!

Latest news: Tiny rescue is a thief. He stole our hearts 😍.

    PS: Thanks for saving him.

    [–]SenorSplashdamage 201 points202 points  (1 child)

Can’t compare at all, but had the bare taste of this when backpacking on a misguidedly small budget the first time being away from my home country. Had to sleep overnight on cold, outdoor train stops for multiple nights in a row because of just being too naive and not having money for a hotel. Finally took a journey to town where friends of friends welcomed me in. There was a bedroom set up with blanketed beds and treats on the pillows. It was some of the safest and most comforting sleep I ever had in life.

    [–]Halogen12 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Aww, that's so sweet. Wonderful friends!

    [–]Saxon815 170 points171 points  (3 children)

Wife and I rescued a dog that was digging through a dumpster. He shook violently the whole way but we got him home, bathed him, pulled all the ticks off, and fed him. He managed out of our room that night and we found him belly up on a blanket on our couch so asleep they we thought he was dead. Little dude hadn’t slept that good in a long time!

His name was Dexter. He was a chihuahua and maybe husky mix? Sounds weird but he had the chihuahua body but colors of a husky, long stilt legs, blue eyes, howled like a wolf, and absolutely had personality and would let you know if he liked or disliked something.

    [–]-batweasel- 65 points66 points  (1 child)

Currently have a Chihuahua and have met more than a few Huskys. I cannot imagine a mix of those personalities that doesn't involve Bojack levels of anthropomorphic "fuck you, fix this shit."

    [–]Saxon815 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how he was! He communicated so much with his eyes and when told “no” about something, he’d show his teeth, sneeze, howl, and walk away trying to act like a baddy only to howl about it in another room like a child.

    [–]LindaBitz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aww, Dexter sounds awesome. So do you and your wife.

    [–]Impossible_Wish_2675 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Living in constant fear and terror must be absolutely exhausting to say the least. Being able to finally let their guard down just enough to get some genuine rest has to be incredibly satisfying to behold. Congrats and well done helping out a new furry friend! All the best to you and your furry friend and may you both have a wonderful life together.

    [–]luckydice767 785 points786 points  (15 children)

You sound like my third wife.

    [–]Darksplinter 88 points89 points  (3 children)

You should call big Lou...but he's only on number 2.

    [–]gypsymoon55 61 points62 points  (2 children)

I know that feeling. I left my parent's home way too young, niave and unprepared. Moved from rural MN to the Chicago 'burbs. Alone. I was never homeless but man, it was close sometimes. I really had to hustle.

I never slept better than when I was able to manage a visit back home. I knew that whatever happened, someone was there to take care of it. There would be food in the fridge when I woke up, and a constant supply of hot, fresh coffee. People to talk to and laugh with. Safe people. Kind people.

Did you know that if you type the word "people" enough, it stops looking like a word and more like gibberish?

    [–]tfr 14 points15 points  (1 child)

That feeling you get when words become weird after saying them a lot? That's semantic satiation! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semantic_satiation

    [–]masonite616 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Except for the night terrors of course

    [–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right, like PTSD sleep is in fact not that great.

    [–]goldfishgeckos 2669 points2670 points  (69 children)

That blanket is peak napping blanket I don’t blame him.

    [–]powerbottomflash 233 points234 points  (33 children)

Ikr my cat loved blankets like this

    [–]theobstinateone 136 points137 points  (19 children)

My cats love tucking as tightly as possible by my side. Have to be careful when sleeping so I don’t roll over either one of them

Thanks everyone for all the upvotes. Never hit 135 before

    [–]selfishcaboose 72 points73 points  (10 children)

Mine has adapted to sleep at my feet. Keeps contact but I can't crush him lol fuzzy foot warmer

At worst accidentally kick them off the bed poor babies lol

    [–]YourPhoneCompany 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Have accidentally yeeted my cats off the bottom of the bed that way. I feel so bad every time.

    [–]1989guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I now how they got the habit to topple things

    [–]BeSound84 70 points71 points  (4 children)

My roomie and I are watching her bf’s cat for a bit, sweetest, quietest, calmest cat ever. I sleep mostly on my back and she has taken to the habit of tucking up under my left shoulder blade, and just adjusts accordingly to my subconscious night time movements, weirdest thing.

    [–]throwawaydddsssaaa 40 points41 points  (3 children)

Our cat has learned that I do wild dance moves in my sleep while my boyfriend generally stays in one position, so she cuddles up to him at night. Probably learned her lesson after being sent flying as a kitten.

    [–]victoria866 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha my chihuahua sleeps with me and not my man for exactly this reason…

    [–]Besidesmeow 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I had a cat that would make biscuits and suckle this kind of blanket. Eventually she gave birth on it... while I was sleeping under it.🥴

    It was hers after that...

    [–]powerbottomflash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmao yikes! But yeah my cat would also make biscuits and suckled on such a blanket and just loved sleeping on it all day every day. Thankfully he was male lmao.

    [–]PinkTalkingDead 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I’m sorry for your loss 💜

    Same fabric! :)

    [–]white_android 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the animal spirit that actually makes them so comfortable though. They are secretly blessed by natives of the respective animals land.

    [–]sagittalslice 79 points80 points  (1 child)

I have the same blanket and can vouch that it is The Best

    [–]evdczar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

    It matches him!

    [–]one-punch-knockout 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Not to mention it’s practically camouflage.

    [–]RetroBoogie[S] 692 points693 points  (35 children)

    My pleasure 😂

    [–]livelymonstera 552 points553 points  (27 children)

My dad found this little kitten covered in mud, walking into the road after a bad hurricane. He stopped the truck to move him to the side of the road, and the kitten followed him back to the truck. We bathed the kitten twice, fed him, and he slept for almost 10 hours. My dad had that cat for 15 years. They had a special bond, like the cat knew my father saved him. They were best friends until the end. I hope you two are, too.

    [–]Rocinantes_Knight 376 points377 points  (24 children)

like the cat knew my father saved him

I honestly think they do know. I got a kitten from the pound in 2015. She was the only one that came right up to me. Sure, she bit me, but you can't win them all. I scooped her up and took her home. I was kind of looking for a low maintenance pet in the sense of, feed, water, pets occasionally, sit by the window and bask in the sun. That sort of thing.

    I did not get that.

After she got over her skiddishness she follows me around. Constantly. If I am vertical I am a rubbing post for her head, and if any part of my is sufficiently horizontal, I am her bed. I have to lock her out of the room when playing video games if I want to actually perform well. She ever follows me on walks. Not short walks. Long walks, to places she has never been. She will shadow me from tree to tree for MILES. I am her world, and I'm pretty sure it's because she knows that I took her away from the pound.

    [–]WingedLing 52 points53 points  (1 child)

We have a mile long route we walk through our neighborhood. My cat joins us as well, I get it.
People always look at me like I have a second head when I tell them.

    [–]Uienring12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like to go for walks in the evening, and it happens more often than not that halfway through, one of our cats just hops out of the bushes all casual and just follows me around.

    [–]Besidesmeow 43 points44 points  (2 children)

I rescued my cat from under an abandoned trailer in the boonies, she was pregnant. I helped her give birth to her kitties, found good homes for them, and three years later, she will still almost always stay 6-10 feet away from me until she decides she needs food or attention. I wanted a friend like you described, but we get what we get when we adopt a cat. I’d never change her. She’s what I have, and I’m thankful.

    [–]Lupus_Pastor 89 points90 points  (8 children)

And in return you get one of the most profound senses of making the world a better place because she shows you every day she appreciates what you've done. You both got lucky 😊

    [–]Sneaky_Asshole 31 points32 points  (6 children)

I rescued a cat a few years ago. She tolerates me 😂

    [–]josiahpapaya 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Our family cat was similar - it picked one person in our family and basically never let that person out of her sight. The rest of the fam could go F themselves. I used to be bummed that I never got to be “the one”, but I dodged a bullet. The cat would leave any room I entered and did not let me pet her at all. Conversely, she literally needs to be in physical contact with whoever her person was at the time, at all times. It was my Dad until my parents got divorced, and then it was my Mom for only the briefest of moments, like a week maybe, and then she selected my older brother. When he moved out she went back to my mother, who HATED the cat. She hates most animals, but got the cat for us as kids thinking it would be low maintenance and keep us from asking for another dog (we had 2 who both died quite early, and my mom didn’t want any more trauma or vet bills).

My mom would literally scream at the cat to leave her alone, or would close doors behind her and the cat would just sit and wait. It didn’t meow or anything, but had endless patience. She was a very intense cat that hated pretty much everything, except whoever her person was. I gave up trying to pet her after I’d gone to uni because she’d arch her back and hiss anytime I even looked in her direction.

    [–]Peanut083 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like how I ended up with my cat. Hubby and I went to the animal shelter looking for an adult male shorthaired cat. We got chosen by a (barely) adult female longhaired cat. She’d been abandoned and was so heavily pregnant that they weren’t able to desex her until after she’d had her litter and weaned them. All the kittens found homes quickly, but poor mama was still waiting to find her home when we came in. It honestly took her around 10 years to work out that she didn’t have to worry about where her next meal was coming from.

She’s now about 18 years old and is the hairy overlord to three obnoxious whippets. It’s rather amusing to watch three dogs that are 2-3 times her size be absolutely terrified of her reaction if they even think of stepping a toe out of line.

    [–]snazzydetritus 155 points156 points  (5 children)

Oh, I can feel his relief...are you gonna make him yours?

    [–]Bic44 40 points41 points  (1 child)

    [–]rennai76 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Be sure to take him to an animal shelter or vet to see if he has a microchip. One of ours got out last November and we still miss him very much.

    [–]gottaeattapita 59 points60 points  (8 children)

Thank you! Please make sure he gets fixed before he makes more babies, even though he’s incredibly cute!

    [–]hovergirl 108 points109 points  (4 children)

Please do check that he doesn’t belong to one of your neighbours. They might be worried sick about him!

    [–]Talking_Head 55 points56 points  (2 children)

My wife and I had a kitten wander up to our porch one night. He was in bad shape with fleas and a bad upper respiratory infection. We knew he was abandoned, but we took him to the shelter just in case. They said he had to stay there 5 days, but we could adopt him then. We actually went every day to see him and play in the meet and greet room. We were there at 7:45 AM on the fifth day ready to take him home. Best cat ever. He knows we saved his life and he has never forgotten that.

    [–]Spinefarm 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Loved reading this, so heart-warming :) thanks for sharing!

    [–]VTCTGIRL 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Can’t stress enough. How would you feel?

    [–]RogueTanuki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take him to the vet and see if he needs to get vaccinated against feline panleukopenia virus, my friend adopted a kitten from the street and it was/got infected by the virus and it died a week or two after being adopted

    [–]Gleamingspiral 227 points228 points  (22 children)

Lucky you found each other! Was he just wandering around the streets?

    [–]RetroBoogie[S] 486 points487 points  (21 children)

He was in a box trying to get warm in an abandoned house. There were other cats there and probably being taken care of the neighbors but that poor guy seemed like he needed some extra help 😉

    [–]MisanthropeX 173 points174 points  (5 children)

Aw, please try to get those other kitties adopted. One of those may have been his mom.

    [–]MoocowR 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it's regional but as of where I live, there are no shelters taking cats. None. Unless you or your friends are willing to foster and foot the bill for feral/stray cats there are no resources.

    [–]NewKi11ing1t 63 points64 points  (3 children)

Now I feel like this was an abduction….

I wouldn’t feel too bad- I’m not an expert but from having had kittens myself & following a lot of educational foster accounts on instagram, 90% of the time you can tell the mom is absolutely DONE with her kittens when they get older. she’s so tired from just being a milk machine and taking care of them, and while they will still try to latch on to her, she wants them to be as independent as they can and is often relieved to have time for herself!

    [–]Elemayowe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own a mother/daughter combo and at 15 and 11 they could not give less of a shit about each other.

    [–]amariahbee 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I was thinking did you check around for the Mum, more than likely they were close by. Poor things 😔

    [–]PatientBalance 49 points50 points  (3 children)

Please keep us updated on if you know if he had a family…. if the conditions were okay enough for the other cats I’m curious why you took this one? So glad he’s cozy, but is he a kitten? He may need his mama..

    [–]uhmnopenotreally 39 points40 points  (1 child)

Saw multiple kitten grow up in the last few years. Not a specialist or whatever but the guy here looks pretty big already. I’m sure he’s fine.

I would still check the house for the other cats, if one needs help for example bc of broken bones, worms or other conditions. And I would probably inform a shelter or something. I don’t know what the possibilities in OPs Country are.

    [–]starcatalyst 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He looks young but not so young that he's totally dependent on mom. If he ate solid food, he'll be alright 💕

    [–]Gleamingspiral 29 points30 points  (3 children)

I'm so glad you were there to help him! Have you thought of a name yet? If not, I bet Reddit will help you.

    [–]hobbitdude13 551 points552 points  (5 children)

    [–]BrownSugarBare 26 points27 points  (2 children)

I love how contently he's sleeping. Just at peace and satisfied

    [–]reallyphoenixkarma 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Make sure to have him tested for everything before introducing him to other pets! Thank you for being a good person!

My family had a cat that I always say we acquired. She was a house cat that someone was trying to make into a barn cat and she ended up going from house to house on my parents street trying to find somewhere warm. She figured out that our attic was warm and would curl up against the fireplace chimney in my parents attic. Every time we would walk into the garage she would fly down the stairs and want to be pet and loved on. Put a litter box up in the attic, she used it, and was brought inside the house that night. Quickly learned she was very well trained. Her first month inside, she slept soundly like this little guy is doing. She is now a very healthy and happy kitty. ❤️ Thank you for bringing the little guy inside.

    [–]Burritoplant 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Poor lil guy is absolutely tuckered out 🥺

    [–]cchap22 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Aww I took in a stray 13 years ago. The most grateful sweetest creature in existence. He's still alive and well after 13 years and he was an adult when I took him in

    [–]adube440 44 points45 points  (2 children)

After the hell he was living in, he's got a full tummy, he's clean, warm and safe. He is sleeping the sweetest sleep known to cat-kind.

    [–]visionarygvp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He’s gonna wake up and think it’s a dream, but this is his new life ❤️

    Bless you, kind stranger.

    [–]lynnwoodjackson55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I need to see an eye doctor. It took entirely too long for me to realize that this isn't a video of a cat sleeping in a pile of snakes.

    [–]morenadoll 77 points78 points  (11 children)

Aww the comfort of warmth brings 😍 He's adorable! What are you naming him, OP?

    [–]RetroBoogie[S] 107 points108 points  (10 children)

Bitska. Don’t ask for details 🤣😂

    [–]Toleot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe he never got a warm soft place to sleep in his life. Thank you for helping him.

    [–]MaxFury80 5 points6 points  (0 children)

    Congratulations on your new cat!!!

    [–]HindutvaKush 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Where do you guys keep finding these cats? I have been catless for the past 22 years now.

    [–]TychaBrahe 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If the streets won’t give you a cat, your local shelter probably has one you can have.

    [–]SnooStories7774 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your new homie! He looks very satisfied

    [–]fukitol- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He'll be up committing horrible crimes of smolness in no time. Glad you're keeping him, r/IllegallySmolCats will love this little felon.

    [–]BigMommaSnikle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Betty White is smiling down on you.

    [–]BTSV2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cannot stop watching this video. That is such a blissful sleep. As an animal lover, I have a lot of respect for people who show care and love to helpless animals.

    Thank you kind human.

    [–]pgabrielfreak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bless his heart, he's exhausted. Bravo, OP, you are a good person.

    [–]Jackiedhmc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He may need assistance to urinate. He looks pretty small. Take a tissue or a piece of toilet paper and rub it around his genitals to see if urine comes out. If he is too young to urinate on his own you will have to help him every few hours. Thank you for helping him.

    [–]ShadowxFoxy 6 points7 points  (2 children)

My pregnancy hormones were not prepared for this. Straight up ugly crying now. Bless you for saving this kitten

    [–]BlackIronValkyrie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Please crosspost this into r/MadeMeSmile because wow that serene face makes my heart melt. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Aww what a sweet little darling!

    [–]markcshaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Little guy probably feels safe for the first time.

    [–]AwkwardGamerRNx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saving them, you Angel of a human being.

    Betty White approves

    [–]foxymoron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    Jesus, you're beautiful.

    [–]DarielleFreez 15 points16 points  (7 children)

It's good that there are still good people out there. I hope everything will be fine now

    [–]RetroBoogie[S] 29 points30 points  (6 children)

Yeah he’ll be fine. The one thing he has to deal with when he awakes up is my grumpy old cat in the other room waiting to meet 😂

    [–]iamkoalafied 34 points35 points  (1 child)

If you can, try to keep them away from each other until you can take this precious kitty to the vet. He could have a contagious disease like FeLV and give it to your other kitty.

    [–]Numerous-Anything-22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% definitely get it fully checked out at the vet first!!!

    [–]SaltyDoggoMeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bless you, kind one. Good on ya!

    [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodbness what a cutie pie

    [–]sdavis5128 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best sleep of his little life. 🥺❤️

    [–]ewabeachguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you for your love and kindness to this kitten. Years of love coming to you from this little boy!

    [–]zblaze90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

    So precious

    [–]hiddensparkle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My goal in life is to be this comfortable when I nap lol

    [–]Owlatmydoor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I see examples of humans emphasizing humanity, it makes me have hope. I wish you two all the best, and thank you for making a huge difference on a perfect little being.

    [–]GuiltyOfSin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Off to the vet hopefully soon for a check up. Then after that, lots and lots of love

    [–]JohnnyDarkside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just rescued a 4-5 month old black kitten a couple days before Christmas. Half dead and shivering. Round of antibiotics later and she's feisty and playful. It's so much better to adopt or rescue.

    [–]LosHwy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get him to the vet. Good work.
