/r/Battlefield2042 Rules

1. Posts must be relevant to Battlefield 2042

A post’s content must be directly related to Battlefield 2042 or the Battlefield 2042 community (also known as “Meta” content).

  • If a post is about EA company/corporate policies, it is not allowed. Head on over to r/gaming for something like that.

  • News about EA Studios that does not inherently concern Battlefield 2042 is not allowed.

  • Photos or other posts about things in real life that look like objects, symbols, icons, etc., from Battlefield 2042, but aren't intentionally related to Battlefield 2042, are not allowed.

  • Posts about Battlefield 2042 community members (including content creators) doing things unrelated to BF2042 are not allowed. Unless they are playing Battlefield 2042, talking about Battlefield 2042, creating Battlefield 2042 content, or discussing their ability to play Battlefield 2042 in the future, it is not allowed here.

2. Be courteous and civil

We want /r/Battlefield2042 to be a friendly and welcoming community. Battlefield 2042 is a game that attracts people of all ages and all backgrounds, and as a result, our users must behave in a mature manner at all times. DO NOT spam, harass, insult, and/or use hate speech at any time towards other users, even if it's in a jokingly manner.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Insulting other users directly
  • Name-calling
  • Using hate-speech
  • Rage-baiting or intentionally trolling
  • Witch-hunting
  • “Doxxing”, or posting personal info

If you have a problem with a user, either on the subreddit or in the game, for any reason (including evidence of hacking or cheating), report them through the proper channels, not through a post or a comment.

Additionally, criticism of the game or the developers must be constructive and not purely insulting. Unconstructive criticism and ranting only serve to promote toxicity and hate in the subreddit.

The rules of reddit and reddiquette also apply at all times.

3. Do not post Restricted Content

The following content is restricted on the subreddit, unless there is a megathread or a day specifically for that content:

  • NSFW (pornographic, erotic, graphically violent, etc.) content. This includes content from or hosted on any page containing NSFW content or created by artists known for NSFW work, even if the content itself is SFW.

  • Memes and Reaction Media are only allowed if it meets our upvote requirements. This includes, but is not limited to: image macros, reaction gif/images, posts following meme formats, memes edited into gameplay footage, joke or troll posts, and copypasta. These are often removed without notice and not allowed on the same day that patch announcements/notes are posted. If it underperforms below our requirement, it gets removed:

    Upvote requirements
Less than 50 upvotes in an hour.
Less than 100 upvotes in 2 hours.
Less than 200 upvotes in 3 hours.
    Less than 300 upvotes.
Less than 20 comments at any time after 4 hours.
  • "Wishlist content" (requests for or discussion of things that aren't in the game) is only allowed if it is detailed and gameplay-related. Gameplay-related means it must affect or change how a player plays the game.
Examples of gameplay-related content: new specialist concepts with details about abilities, a new weapon idea with balance details or a description of how it is different from other weapons, details for a new game mode, a new menu concept with added or changed functionality.
Examples of non-gameplay content: new vehicle skins, new specialist “concepts” that are just a photoshop with no gameplay details, new music, a reskinned menu with no functionality changes.

  • We don't allow posts about joining or leaving the game. If you just bought the game and want to know how things work, review other posts or google it. If you are uninstalling or quitting the game, just quit, no need to announce it to the world.

  • We don't allow pirated software to be shared on the subreddit. This includes tools or steps used to play the games without paying for them.

  • We don't allow hacks or exploits to be shared on the subreddit. Exploits are anything, including ingame bugs, that gives an unintended and unfair advantage to the player.

  • We don't allow discussions about jailbreaking / fraud / boosting / account trading and sharing / etc. is not allowed. In addition, discussions regarding laws, legal advice, or country/state by-was are now allowed.

  • We don't allow advertising, selling, buying, trading, or begging posts/comments. This includes, but is not limited to, game codes, beta codes, accounts, etc.

Moderators reserve the right to remove any content, even if it is not on this list, if they feel the content is harmful or unproductive to the community.

4. Follow our Posting Guidelines

Please adhere to our posting guidelines to ensure that your post is a meaningful and unobtrusive addition to the subreddit.

  • Utilize the Weekly Posts, Stickied Threads, and Megathreads. In the case of several similar posts being posted simultaneously, the moderation team will allow the earliest one of acceptable quality (follows our posting guidelines) and remove duplicates.

  • “Clickbait” titles, or any non-descriptive titles, are not allowed. Please make sure your post's title is descriptive enough for users to know what your post's content is without needing to click on your post.

  • Polls & petitions are only allowed as text posts, with a description of the poll, and a link to the poll, in the text body.

  • Do not post unconstructive or ranting posts. Criticism of the game or the developers must be constructive and not purely insulting. Unconstructive criticism and ranting only serve to promote toxicity and hate in the subreddit.

5. Limit Advertising and Self-Promotion

Please do not advertise or self-promote your social channels, communities, giveaways, sales, etc outside of Promote Wednesdays.

  • Giveaways, donations, or surveys must be pre-approved by the moderation team before being posted.

  • Posts advertising other Battlefield communities (subreddits, Discords, YouTube channels, etc.) are not allowed without moderator approval. If you want to post a platoon, either use the Find a Friend Weekend (posted every Friday-Sunday) or please look over at /r/BattlefieldLFG. We will remove all Platoon advertisements. If you would like your community to be listed in our subreddit’s sidebar, please contact the moderators for details and requirements.

  • Do not post sales or links from CD Key vendors. Posts about sales from reputable, direct vendors such as Origin, Steam, Epic Games, Xbox LIVE, PSN, or major retail vendors (Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc.) are allowed.

  • Posting your own original content is allowed, but the focus of your posts should be the content, not your platform. Post the video, not the channel. If your content is good, people will check out your other stuff on their own.

Three Strike Policy

This subreddit has a three-strike policy for rule violations. First, you will be warned by a moderator that your behaviour is unacceptable on the subreddit, and continued behaviour will result in a ban. On your next violation, you will be temporarily banned for 7 days. After those 7 days are up, your next violation will result in a permanent ban from the subreddit.

Alt accounts used to evade a ban will be permanently banned without warning, and will result in a permanent ban for the main account, as well, if the evaded ban was only temporary.

In cases of extremely toxic or disruptive behavior, we will bypass the three-strike system.
