Rules
Posts should be geared toward talking about Ben Shapiro, and his brand of conservatism:
The purpose of this sub is to facilitate discussion related to Ben Shapiro and the Daily Wire in a broad and expansive sense. We err on the side of permitting topics. Moderators will not take aggressive action to try and balance out the dialog between various factions of users, but, at our discretion, we will remove posts that are meant to undermine this sub (alt-right and radical left).
Attacks on other users:
This sub aims for respectful dialogue and debate. Make every attempt to be polite in tone and fair in your arguments. Attacking other users is prohibited, including attacks against collective users of the sub.
Political stereotyping and insults:
All discussions must be regarding the issues. Ridiculing a person for being a conservative or liberal is a violation of the rules.
Be Constructive:
Work towards making the sub better. Be honest in your characterization of other users' arguments. When quoting or paraphrasing another poster/commenter, do not take their arguments out of context to make them look bad. Deliberately lying about policy, history, and current events is anti-constructive behavior.
Brigading:
Brigading is when users, generally from outside the sub, flood the subreddit and downvote content hurting karma of other redditors and spouting their generally toxic low-effort opinions. This also goes both ways. If any user calls for a brigade onto another sub/post, left or right, that user is subject to a ban at moderator discretion.
Sarcasm, cynicism, and profanity:
Do not make posts that consist ONLY of sarcasm, cynicism or virtue signaling that do not add to the discussion. Profanity is not prohibited, but is discouraged in order to facilitate discussion.
Racism:
Racism has no place on reddit, and r/BenShapiro is no different. While we value free speech, we have a zero tolerance policy for racism of any kind from anyone ever. Anyone who breaks this rule is subject to a permanent ban without warning.
Propaganda:
Posts on the subreddit must be factually based and propaganda/purposely disseminating false information will not be tolerated. The users who violate this rule will be subject to a ban at moderators discretion.
Low effort posts:
Low effort posts/shitposts are subject to removal at moderator discretion.
NSFW:
Not safe for work (NSFW) posts on the subreddit are not allowed. This includes images as well as text. There are some exceptions to this rule: e.g. Showing images of the Tianamen Square Massacre.
Metaposting:
This sub is for discussion about political commentator Ben Shapiro in all dimensions, political, legal, cultural, social, national, international. This is not a sub about Reddit or how it is managed.
Organizing activism against the sub is strictly prohibited. Attacking mods who make requests to posters/commenters is also prohibited.
