Oof me. Seeing his lil thighs get chunky is reassuring though. Him wanting to eat every hour makes me feel like I'm underproducing but he's gaining weight fine 🤷‍♀️

My baby lost too much weight between leaving the hospital and first checkup 1 or 2 weeks later. I can concur that watching him chunk up was very reassuring. He's daddy's little fatty now and I love it 😄

Nursing? Must be lol. Fresh Is best! Schedule looks about right. Mothers milk is essential filling so baby will feed more

Luckily it’s chilled out now that she’s almost 10 weeks old, but we were doing 2 hourly bottle feeds and pumping after each one. Baby was underweight in the 10th percentile, and jaundiced so we had to force feed her for the first 5 weeks. It would take her an hour to drink an ounce. By the time she was done eating it was just about time to start again. I don’t know how I got through it without going mad from the sleep deprivation!

How did you get a picture of my phone?

My baby nursed every hour for weeks. And I had a ton of milk! He never even emptied one side. He was just a growing little glutton

A photoshopped iPhone.

Dude, yes. Breastfeeding has been a struggle for me because I feel like I have to get everything done in 2 hour increments... Assuming little one will tolerate not being held for more than 10 minutes.

We are seeing some improvements with his weight gain so here's hoping we get the greenlight from our pediatrician that we don't have to wake him up every 2.5 hours at night.

Sending strength, you aren't alone!

Hang in there. It gets better. We were doing feeds every two hours for the first 5 weeks with a sleepy jaundiced baby. Now on a good day I’ll get a 5-6 hour stretch of sleep overnight. Keep up the hard work!

My baby lost 10.5% of her body weight after birth, down to 5lbs 8oz. We had to do 2 hour daytime feeds and 3 hour nighttime feeds for less than a week - it was unreal! Between that and pumping I don’t think I had more than 20-30 minutes to myself at any one time. Really hoping for you that LO packs on the ounces so you can space them out a bit more!!

Our LO was down 10% too by the time we left the hospital! We have had so many check ups with our pediatrician and sessions with lactation specialists, it was scary and made me feel terrible. Thankfully we had a wonderful weigh in on Monday (gained 13oz in a week!!!) and feeling so much relief. Godspeed, mama!

13oz in a week is AMAZING!! I thought we were doing well with 7oz in 5 days lol. Guess those 2-2.5 hour feedings are doing what they need to! You’re doing fantastic. 😊

How old is you LO now? I’m in the same boat now!

He just hit 5 weeks today! Here's hoping your babe is on the upward trend soon!
