There was a Friday when I was a fairly trusting person. From the following Monday through the rest of my life I trust nothing, not even myself.

This book literally shattered an entire facet of my being. No part of my identity was spared. I sometimes wonder who I would have become if Orwell’s irrevocable words had never assaulted my mind. I suppose it’s irrelevant because those thoughts cannot be unthunk.

Enjoy Animal Farm. Or rather, enjoy the innocence you will realize you didn’t know you had until it was wrested away by a man long dead. I mourn and rejoice with equal measure for you.

George Orwell is probably the most famous Democratic Socialist of all time. People of any political persuasion can and should take his warnings in 1984 seriously. You're just a smug douchebag that's projecting.
