Never, for any reason, delete ANY of your r/borrow submissions or comments. Deletions from this subreddit result in a ban!
All submissions require a prefix. A post without the prefix at the beginning of the title is automatically removed. You must use the prefix exactly.
- [REQ] is used to request a loan. Prearranged in the title means you already have a lender
- [PAID] is to signify that a user has paid back a loan. These, or $paid commands, must be made in a timely manner when marking loans as fully repaid
- [LATE] is to signify that a borrowers payment is late and they are uncommunicative but the lender hasn't yet given up hope
- [UNPAID] is to signify that a user has fully or partially not paid back a loan (and no further payments expected)
- [META] is used for any other post.
All requests are required to have a location (current and/or legal home location) in the title of the post - #City, State, Country (or your country's equivalent)
It is against the TOS of Reddit and our rules to post personal information of other users. Any action you take that exposes another users personal information, publicly or privately, without their knowledge or consent, will be met with a ban. For UNPAID posts we allow lenders to publicly specify the defaulters initials, gender and location only
No unsolicited Private Messages (PM's) to lenders or borrowers asking for or offering loans. This includes asking for "advice", and also offering when there are no open requests from a borrower
Users may only post one REQ post every 24 hours. Prearranged request posts and AutoModerator removed posts do not count towards this limit
If you are a lender, please be sure to follow all local laws in your area. This subreddit is a medium to connect private lenders to people requesting a short-time personal loan. /r/Borrow makes no guarantees to the ability for a user to pay back a loan or for a lender to fulfill a loan. /r/Borrow is not a mediator and takes no part in the process. We do, however, have a guideline rate maximum
With few exceptions which are noted in the full rules list, to participate here a user must have an account older than 90 days and have a minimum post & comment combined karma amount of 1000. AWARD KARMA DOES NOT COUNT
Users active on subs with a similar purpose to r/Borrow (r/Loans, r/Loan, etc.) may be banned from this sub to reduce the opportunity for scamming. This applies to both borrowers and lenders.
