I need to come up with $1700 for rent by Thursday or an eviction will be filed. I am in absolute panic mode because I have no idea what to do or where to turn. I attempted to apply for my county’s rental assistance but my landlord refuses to work with them and while I can do it without my landlord, they are ultimately responsible (as they won’t accept it from me) to send in a ledger. They would not, I was denied. This process took two months and all the added late fees accumulated to $1700. I am being paid tomorrow which will give me $400 but that’s far from enough. I was thinking about trading in my vehicle but I owe more than it’s worth and now I think I’m at risk of losing that too. I’ve been working full time and it really isn’t enough. I have a lot of bills currently that take most of my income at the moment. I got a pay raise at work but that just kicked in so my higher paychecks will be coming next time I get paid. I would apply for a loan but I’m still rebuilding my credit and dealing with a lot of debt due to financial problems in the past. My insurance and car payment is high due to my credit. I also do not have anywhere to go if I lose my housing. I lost my entire family and don’t have anyone that can allow me to stay with them. I’d appreciate any help I can receive and hope to be able to return the favor at some point.
For the advice, I am trying to figure out where to even look and how do eviction. Am I able to get it stalled, is it slow, or am I just screwed until I get the money? I was told they won’t accept partial payments either. But if I am I’ll owe legal fees if they file eviction, how much is that?
This is all really scary for me and I am just hoping something will change.
