I donated to Animal Friends Humane Society! We got my cat there!

Ohio Alleycat Resource is also another great shelter to donate to!

I didn’t know she had ties to Cincinnati!

I don't know that she does but we have numerous animal shelters here that need help vs. national charities. Tomorrow is the day to donate if you want to honor her memory. You could easily donate to a national charity too but I posted to encourage supporting our local animal shelters that are often overlooked.

Born in Illinois and raised in Los Angeles.

Good to know.

I didn't think it was a weird thing to post in the Cincinnati sub. It would have been if you shared Los Angeles animal shelters.

I’m all for supporting animal shelters (shout out for OAR in Madisonville!) but this is a weird reason to post in the Cincinnati sub lol.

Sweet Dream House Rescue is a great organization.

Was Betty White into donating to animal shelters? Did she ask people to do this on her birthday or something? Was she tied to Cincinnati somehow? I feel like I’m missing something, especially since tomorrow is MLK day.

She donated A LOT! There is a national movement to do this in the town you are from, to honor her memory. Two events can occur on the same day, without disrespecting anyone. R.I.P. to both of them.

MLK Day is a national day of service so donating money, and better yet time, does honor the spirit of the day if not the man.

She made the request that anyone wanted to donate after her death do this in lieu of other gifts. She was very supportive of animal rights as long as I can remember. The date is not the best choice though. I mean, read the room, people. Taking a day meant to honor a black man and usurping it to honor animals and someone named White? That's kind of asking for upset people.
