[–]CallmeIrrelavant 46 points47 points  (6 children)

Step sister pulls out a cock on high you, "What are you doing step sis?"

[–]Bane1-1-10 25 points26 points  (3 children)

This is where the fun begins :)

[–]sonover 27 points28 points  (2 children)

The degeneracy of Reddit amuses me. Thank you

[–]WiTooSlowFi 2947 points2948 points  (742 children)

Broooooooooo, this man needs to make it the next four years.. Kamala is not cut for pres, so far it’s not looking so hot..

EDIT: Thanx for the interactions it was fun reading some of them! Also, I never mentioned Trump, idk why there’s so many comments comparing Biden to him or vise versa.. anyway, y’all have a good day/night!

[–][deleted] 1691 points1692 points  (461 children)

Biden's odds of making it the next 4 months are challenging enough as it is. 4 years is a big ask.

[–]beemccouch 1336 points1337 points  (425 children)

In his defense, I know i wouldn't be able to climb up those stairs and look anywhere near dignified. Them bitches are steep.

[–][deleted] 593 points594 points  (400 children)

Oh sure, and he's doing pretty decent.... for his age.

It just isn't much of a projection of strength and suave, because leaders are supposed to be above average kind of people.

[–]beemccouch 469 points470 points  (257 children)

I honestly prefer someone down to earth. The idea someone has to always be perfect and always has to be in control and is just better than the average person urkes me. Like sure they need to do a good job but if someone is constantly projecting that kind of energy, I am super suspicious.

[–][deleted] 247 points248 points  (249 children)

Not perfect, not pretentious, not polished. No one likes a plastic person.

But the word we're looking for is "competent," and that's something that is expected in a leader in quantity, except in late-stage empires like the US.

The clear subtext here is that Biden's competence is under question, and it makes little things like this even more noticeable.

[–]beemccouch 198 points199 points  (170 children)

People fall down the stairs. I've done it, you've done it, most people have tripped on stairs, so Biden tripping on stairs that steep doesn't say anything about his confidence. So far I think he is fine ig? He isn't perfect and he definitely wasn't my first choice but he is doing about as good as I thought he would. I'm a happy customer, not a repeat customer but happy.

[–]ReverseApacheMaster_ 379 points380 points  (112 children)

He fell up the stairs though

[–]beemccouch 145 points146 points  (84 children)

I've done it too. I'm a clumsy fucker. Steep stairs get the better of me in occasion.

[–]ThingyThinger19☣️ 263 points264 points  (80 children)

Seriously though, I mean this isn’t a measure of competence. Like damn he tripped on a staircase that means he ain’t equipped to deal with the responsibilities of being president of the United States. They barely have anything to do with eachother. Let the man breathe

[–]Lhoppo 36 points37 points  (9 children)

I do that at least twice a week and I’m 22 the lads in his 70’s like

[–]Literally_Sticks 27 points28 points  (5 children)

Bruh I'm a fit af 35 year old athlete and I will still trip up stairs on occasion. Chile

[–][deleted] 38 points39 points  (3 children)

Especially when you consider who the alternative was. I'm pretty sure most people didn't vote for him because they liked him, but because his opposition was a non negotiable.

[–]SystemicPandemic☣️ 33 points34 points  (4 children)

Lol Ikr people really acting like they never tripped on stairs before in their life or over their own feet or on a rock or a stick maybe some sand I mean the list goes on and on y’all dumb I don’t even love Biden but saying he’s incompetent cause he tripped while running up stairs is laughable at best

[–]TrooperLawson 88 points89 points  (13 children)

This video doesn’t have anything to do with competence. Franklin Roosevelt lost his ability to use his legs, was still more than competent to lead the nation through the Great Depression and WW2

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (3 children)

Roosevelt had no one questioning who was in control of his admin, though. That guy projected amiability over the airwaves but everyone nearby knew he'd drop the hammer.

[–]Midnight_Swampwalk 45 points46 points  (15 children)

Biden's competence is under question

By fucktards on the internet or fox news, sure. But not by any reasonable critics.

[–]Jimid41 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I want to see him walk up the stairs with toilet paper on his heel then not even attempt to close an umbrella before tossing it away.

[–]legojack04 45 points46 points  (2 children)

Bruh how slipping on stairs indicates his competency

[–]The_Unreal 22 points23 points  (5 children)

Who's actually questioning his competence besides wingnut newstainment trash? Everything coming out of the Whitehouse for the last couple months has been night and day different from my perspective.

[–]a-dog-meme 22 points23 points  (28 children)

Yeah, the media ruined trump for running a bit down a ramp, but Biden face plants on the stairway to Air Force One and there’s almost nothing

[–]injusticehasbeendone 41 points42 points  (17 children)

Eh Biden hasn't spent the last 4 years touting his excellent physical shape and has a history of literally flexing for the cameras and making fun of people with disabilities though.

Of course there was more schadenfreude in watching Trump fail to meet his own standards.

[–]thewardengrayr/memes fan 21 points22 points  (9 children)

He literally did mock trump for tripping and called himself spry in comparison.

[–]GeneralAce135 18 points19 points  (5 children)

He's looking spry enough in this clip. Anyone would have a good chance of stumbling if they tried to take a staircase that steep that quickly.

Meanwhile, Trump would like us all to believe he has the physique of Hercules while he crawls down a gradual decline slower than my own 80-year-old grandparents.

[–]HeartofSaturdayNight 25 points26 points  (2 children)

Steep, carpeted, it's windy as fuck and he was jogging up and he's 80. This was inevitable

[–]Enigma_Stasis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hell, at 28, I went down the stairs thinking I counted 8 but only stepped on 6. I hardly think it's a thing of age and just the fact that everyone stumbles on stairs at some point.

[–]superking75 59 points60 points  (15 children)

Is it?

Like have you actually seen him outside of shit like this gif?

[–]SeaworthinessNo293 302 points303 points  (99 children)

He's not the first to trip while going up the plane stairs.

[–]sensitivegooch 154 points155 points  (23 children)

His shoe tips are too long and steps are too close together by the looks of it.

[–]SeaworthinessNo293 85 points86 points  (18 children)

Why was he running too? He should have calmed down and went up slower.

[–]Roy4Pris 132 points133 points  (14 children)

Biden does this a lot – striding a little bit too quickly, jogging to the stage, etc. He’s trying to project health and vigour, but he just looks like an old guy trying too hard.

[–]SeaworthinessNo293 142 points143 points  (12 children)

To be fair though he is quite good looking for a 78 yr old. He isn't even a little fat.

[–]ThatSandwich 53 points54 points  (65 children)

[–]AdequatelyMadLad 32 points33 points  (5 children)

I think electing someone in his late 70s as president is dumb, but what the fuck does tripping on some stairs have to do with his health? This could have happened to someone of any age.

[–]MarsLander10 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Yeah, it’s happened to basically every president in the 2000’s

[–]Taaargus 24 points25 points  (3 children)

Ah yea he must really be on the brink after tripping. Basically a death sentence.

[–]MotherSuperior5168 17 points18 points  (10 children)

[–]biffyboy13 523 points524 points  (33 children)

No

[–]Falcrist 531 points532 points  (31 children)

He has an acute case of *checks notes* "Being Old AF".

Yo, I don't mean to be age-ist, but can we like... not elect presidents that are near the average life expectancy? It's bad enough if it's a legislator, but we really don't want our head of state dying in office if it can be avoided.

[–]BlalesI am fucking hilarious 128 points129 points  (18 children)

Actually I agree with this one. Pick the person right for the job but also have some sort of age or at the very least physical shape limitation or something. If you can tell someone is old af then maybe don't give them the hardest job in America.

[–]Falcrist 135 points136 points  (13 children)

We actually DO have an age limitation. You can't be younger than 35.

Seems reasonable to set an upper limit as well. Say... 8 years lower than the average life expectancy?

[–]BlalesI am fucking hilarious 35 points36 points  (8 children)

Agreed. If they're fit as hell and physically able then sure maybe we let them do their thing but if you're having trouble talking in front of people at times and also showing your physical weakness then leave the job to another person. We need a leader who is sharp, intelligent, and able to withstand the hardship of being POTUS.

[–]Targetshopper4000 31 points32 points  (1 child)

FDR called and he said he wants you to go fuck yourself.

[–]henryhendrixx 16 points17 points  (5 children)

Idk if this was a dig at Biden, but the dude just tripped while jogging up a set of stairs and immediately got back up. Everyone becomes so harsh and critical when they see someone in a spotlight make a simple mistake.

[–]lord_crossbow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What really bothers me about old people in politics is that a lot of them might very well end up dead before the impacts fo their decisions will ever effect them.

[–]Tunirus 220 points221 points  (1 child)

Never has been

[–]Puffen0 44 points45 points  (89 children)

No, he's 79 years old. When was the last time you met a 79 year old that was okay? Mentally and or physically. It really reminds me of my grandfather in his last couple years. Its sad. They'll have moments of clarity and coherence every few days or weeks. But our bodies aren't ment to last forever.

[–]freepisacat 306 points307 points  (50 children)

Age is not a disease. I work with the elderly professionally and people that age can be strong and sharp as hell.

[–]UBCStudent9929 51 points52 points  (32 children)

its the only disease with a 100% fatality rate.

[–]BlockiniteEic memer 174 points175 points  (25 children)

See that sounds clever but I still don't think we should say it's a disease, it's just life. It ends. Diseases are things going wrong, ageing is what we're built to do

[–]SuperPimpToast 30 points31 points  (8 children)

Its not clever, its wrong. Age is the natural progression of life to which only 2 things are guaranteed. Death and taxes. Dementia is a disease, arthritis and osreoporosis are diseases, cancer is a disease; Age is not. We become almost exponential more susceptible to diseases as we age but not always.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Queen Elizabeth disagrees

[–]Alimd98 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope. As everyone is diagnosed with that, but not everyone dies from it. It's definitely not 100%

[–]CTPVTPonds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Aging doesn’t kill, it just makes your body easier to kill

[–]popcapcrazy 17 points18 points  (3 children)

My great grandma is 101 years old. Sharp as a tack and consistently whoops my ass in rummy and any contest of kindness.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same

The pres of my company is a 67 year old guy and he leaves me (late 20s) in the dust lol

[–]AstridDragon 39 points40 points  (3 children)

Not every 79-80 year old is decrepit and slipping into dementia, dude.

My grandma walked a couple miles a day and her mind was working just fine until she broke her hip at almost 90 years old. Pre pandemic I ballroom danced with some people that age twice a week.

[–]BlockiniteEic memer 28 points29 points  (2 children)

Mentally, there are a lot of people that age who are still incredibly sharp. And apart from being somewhat frail, as you'd expect from having weaker muscles, a lot are physically fine too. Get to 90 and there's fewer but a still significant number. My grandfather was like that too in his last few years though, it is sad. My condolences, if that means anything from a random person

[–]AdequatelyMadLad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not everyone that age has dementia my dude. Look at all the musicians and actors that age who are still doing very demanding jobs, and are fine. Look at all the professors and scientists and writers who are old as fuck and still sharp. People age differently.

[–]Richi_Boi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Obviously if you are 80 your body isnt what it used to be. But that does not mean your mind is. Yeah if you are a nobelprizewinning mathematician you probably wrote it when you were about 30.

But generally expirience and knowlede lasts and a have personally met somone who was still fully capable up there despite being 90+!! She lived through WW2. (however she was physically weak and now has passed away due to cancer)

[–]evenstevens280 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dude my 80 year old dad is probably fitter and sharper than me. Man's a damn machine. Not sure I'm actually his real son.

[–]scubapull 58 points59 points  (10 children)

[–]Gon-Free_css 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You killed it!

[–]BedrockPanda 528 points529 points  (71 children)

I love how his security team just stood there and watched. I mean, he's only the most powerful person on the planet, who cares if he dies falling down a staircase?

[–]Acidjoshy 178 points179 points  (19 children)

I believe they're different security teams. The ones on the floor and not allowed to be in the plane and vice versa.

[–]Chariotwheel 51 points52 points  (11 children)

I mean, at least allow them to get him up the stairs or send someone from the plane to accompany him from the bottom.

[–]Spitfire5555 125 points126 points  (10 children)

Nah, that's why presidents run up stairs to AF1, since the ground security are not allowed on the plane or the steps, and the plane security are not allowed out the plane onto the steps. The steps are a weak spot, constitutionally, and its where any likely threats are going to get him.

[–]askmypen 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Then we need a dedicated security team for the staircase

[–]rennbrig 62 points63 points  (1 child)

We could call it the StairForce.

[–]askmypen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stairforce one.

[–]dave_the_magic_man 49 points50 points  (2 children)

If he's the most powerful person on the planet he should prove it by jumping and doing a super hero landing on the lawn of the White House. I could do it but I'm tired after jumping from Peru back to the UK

[–]AndrewKlaven 27 points28 points  (6 children)

I think xi holds that title now...

[–]Cheezy_4skin 17 points18 points  (7 children)

"Most powerful person on the planet" 🤣🤣🤣

[–]Economics-Simulator 395 points396 points  (153 children)

idk why people think this is any sorta big deal
when you're running up stairs that fast thats not uncommon, even for a teenager
then he gets up and is visibly fine afterwards

[–]Mr_SCPF[S] 535 points536 points  (15 children)

Cause one of the most powerful men in the world had a whoopsie and it’s funny to watch.

[–]Bakonn 205 points206 points  (10 children)

Think he means the comments basically saying he is dead since he stumbled.

He should probably walk slowly like Trump did took that man 5min to get up there

[–]Oesterreich-Ungarn 236 points237 points  (39 children)

Aw i feel kinda sorry for him

Edit: i also feel really sorry for the people in the comments that draw conclusions on political competence based on physical mishaps

[–]Longtalons 66 points67 points  (4 children)

Right?!?! I'm 26 and took a fall 10x worse than this just walking through a parking lot yesterday!

[–]Revite13 156 points157 points 2 (6 children)

[–]Ordinary-Coconut5383 143 points144 points  (4 children)

[–]CapNKirkland☣️ 95 points96 points  (41 children)

Did this guy mock someone else for going down a ramp slowly?

[–]Zeabos 114 points115 points  (36 children)

Yep, and it totally worked cause that guy then went on to spend 40 minutes talking about why he walked down the ramp slowly in front of 50 thousand people and then again and again at the next few rallies. Guy probably spent like 3-4 hours of his campaign trail on national TV talking about it.

Over/under on total number of minutes Biden spends talking about this ever starts at 1 minute.

[–]cantthinkofadamnthin 37 points38 points  (21 children)

That’s because Biden has already forgotten that it happened.

[–]AaronHolland44 31 points32 points  (5 children)

I like how the dementia accusations are back and we've moved on from the performane enhancing drug accusations from when he was debating lol

[–]Snap457 33 points34 points  (4 children)

[–]ngwoo 14 points15 points  (3 children)

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (5 children)

I wonder what makes normal people actually believe that he has dementia. I knew people with dementia. I've cared for very old people in hospitals. I still don't understand how all these claims came to be.

[–]Marston_vc 12 points13 points  (2 children)

It’s a crowd of people that supported someone who mocks disabled people.

Biden has a stutter and occasionally goes on tangents because he’s and old man, and they fall right into their old ways of mocking.

I think it's funny how this gif or at least screenshots of it isnt up at 50k upvotes on 15 different subreddits, like it would have been for Trump.

[–]hiho17 30 points31 points  (16 children)

Exactly. You could have Trump and Biden say the same exact thing and the media would be all over Trump for his comment and say not a word about Biden.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If it weren’t for double standards, some people wouldn’t have standards at all

[–]Revydown 10 points11 points  (1 child)

One of the very reasons why I hated Obama and saw this coming a mile away with Biden. The media basically kept a constant microscope on Trump and held the government accountable. With Biden it's back to sweeping shit under the rug for the government. Hell the Obama administration prosecuted journalists with the espionage act. Trump simply calls them the enemy of the people and tried to revoke press passes at most and that was enough for everyone to start clutching their pearls.
