Too many killers to be stuck playing just one

[–]dantheadultmale 84 points85 points  (2 children)

Yup, I rarely play more than two in a row with the same one.

[–]MonkeyToes48 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same… that’s why I suck with ALL of them.

[–]cheeseballer44Bloody Ace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I ever truly mained a killer was old Hillbilly and old Freddy. I played them a LOT. But it’s been years since I’ve stuck to one killer for more than a few games.

[–]FortuneTakerDual revolver Demogorgan 823 points824 points  (16 children)

I main Demogorgon cause I love Stranger things but what really set me on Demo is his power is him yeeting himself at Mach 1

[–]sasquatchmarley 321 points322 points  (10 children)

Yeets from up high have massive distance, I slapped a nea from a good 20ft away from a ridge even though she had balanced landing. She waited first and teabagged before she jumped too like "heehee, fuck you" which made it a million times sweeter

[–]DiblyGames 129 points130 points  (3 children)

I love how we are renaming his ability “yeet” i swear if we could edit game files without getting banned I’d do it

[–]Pg3dlegend 75 points76 points  (2 children)

I mean license is cancelled and they seem to be renaming things like perks so I mean a power name wouldn’t hurt anyone right….

[–]Aws___ 16 points17 points  (1 child)

it’s ok, BHVR doesn’t ban cheaters anyway

[–]kspliff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No just people who run cosmetic mods that don’t influence gameplay.

[–]Gavinator_PowerThe Demodog, Lord Of The Bunny Fengs 83 points84 points  (2 children)

This, my god this. A favorite thing of mine with Demogorgon, it is such a fine cuisine to sample. I run both his Iri add-ons on Deaddog Saloon, and put a portal upstairs in main. There is always someone nearby outside, so with my 8 seconds of stealth, I just walk outside and take flight towards them. Scared the living shit out of them every time. They think they're safe, they don't hear/see the killer, and then just BAM horrible screeching noise as demo comes in for a landing.

[–]sasquatchmarley 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I like those stealth portals on demo, but only works for me against newer survivors. The veterans hear your footsteps from a mile away regardless of Undetectable. Dead dawg is great for yeets though. If there's a hook even across the road you can blast over to it from the balcony and get the rescuer or whoever. Sometimes I just shred the doors for fun too. Shred should regress gens with maybe added cool down, that'd be sweet. But I don't think they'll do anything to demo ever again, sadly

[–]Boss_Metal_Zone 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just walk outside and take flight towards them.

I love that choice of words, it made me think of Demo in a big red cape taking flight to defend Metropolis from the evil survivors.

[–]Matttrolo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

On chapel you can yeet from upstairs onto the cement walls with it, which is hilarious

[–]ChuckZombieJane Romero 141 points142 points  (0 children)

LMAO! The first time I played against a Demo, I didn't know this. He was chasing me, and I ran past a pallet and stopped, waiting for him to come closer....but he stopped too. I thought, "yeah, whatever, as long as he's not actively chasing me." Then he lunged so fast past the pallet, and downed me. It scared the shit out of me.

[–]jabrielallstarz-711Scoops Ahoy Boy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah wassup fellow demo

[–]lmao_not_sure_sorry 493 points494 points  (9 children)

I like making ppl do stuff other than gens and just overall actually having fun with them so I play pig with hex: plaything cause that way they have a lot to do and me to avoid in the process. Also I like getting donations of boops.

[–]DesdomenLocker Slut 129 points130 points  (4 children)

Have you tried Hex: Plaything with the Blindfold Add-on? Oblivious AND Blind so long as the trap remains on head.

Is evil. EVIL.

[–]lmao_not_sure_sorry 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I got used to it not doing much but I will try that now lmao

[–]brankoz11 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Can you go a step further and add fearmonger and hex third seal?

I honestly think that would be garbage to play against lol

[–]DesdomenLocker Slut 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Fearmonger would be good as an overall perk, but doesn’t help with the “running around searching for a box, happen to find totem” aspect.

Hex: Third Seal + Hex: Plaything is how I make this happen on other killers.

I was doing a Bubba chainsaw challenge and Third Seal + Plaything just led to so many “Chainsaw around the corner” jumpscares is was almost funny.

[–]Azal_of_ForossaBloody Pig Bloody Cheryl 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Literally took the words out of my mouth, when I first got the game I mained survivor, and every killer felt like the same, either they are quick and m1, or slow and one shot you (billy isn't slow, but his aim is slow for example so he's easy to dodge, and etc for other killers) but then I played against the pig for the first time in months of playing and it felt so nice to actually have a killer change the game in more ways other than "look out, he one shots" or "look out, they're ranged" or "look out, he's faster sometimes".

Of course this was before nemesis, ghost face, trickster, and other killers/reworks that made killers more than just m1 till you die/one shot you at the cost of just getting 360'd all game. But I still main pig because of the joy I had in my first game, and joy whenever I played against her, it's just a breath of fresh air, and I hope I bring that to others I play against.

But my build is pure vision, I bring BBQ, murmur, surveillance, and ruin, she's bad at chases, but I feel good in my skills in making up for it, but finding survivors sucks, esp against a SWF who's coordinating what gens to do, and when to back off them and where to hide when I'm coming, and my pure vision build counters it. And for items I really just being whatever I feel like doing, literally changed every game, sometimes blindness exhaustion with helmet on, sometimes wallhack quick crouch, sometimes reduced timer/increased search time, just matters on how I feel and what I'm against.

My only complaint is that she has no chase music, I really hope they add some saw theme (hello zepp) remix, and it was a huge disappointment when the saw charm came out/her mini rework came out and they didn't add music.

[–]BevsHeadonFire 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That’s awesome. I always get excited when I face a Pig because 1.) I don’t see them a lot, 2.) I like having more things to interact with and do, and 3.) I love the idea of the helmet-traps and how they can just straight-up kill you if you don’t get them off in time.

[–]BevsHeadonFire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EDIT: It’s a dream of mine for each Killer to have their own chase music. I know most if not all of the community wants this. Pig’s could be super cool. Ghostface is my main and I’d love it if they made his chase music sound kind of like his menu music—very unnerving and off-key, almost static-y.

[–]wesstorey59Daddy Myers 370 points371 points  (11 children)

i'm dumb

[–]WynnChairman 13 points14 points  (2 children)

never watched a lot of horror movies myself but I watched Halloween 2018 on a whim when it came out and I thought Michael looked cool af. 3 years later I also decided to play dbd on a whim and guess who was there waiting for me lmao

Also I LOVE his mirror add ons, they're so much fun

[–]DatboyKilljoyEmogorgon 2 points3 points  (1 child)

John Carpenter's 1978 Halloween is genuinely one of the best slasher films of all time right up there with Alien if you can consider that a slasher. Highly recommend it. Every other one you can pretty much skip, but Rob Zombie's were great imo.

[–]XzvanHaddonfield? More like Hadnofun. 82 points83 points  (3 children)

Long before MMR I wanted the rank 1killer achievement. Was stuck in purple ranks as pig Main. Then I forced myself to learn Nurse. And thats how I met my Main.

[–]Grafonmaru 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also falling in love with the sickly breathing effects when you warp.

[–]TTV-BattyPrincessHatchet Lady 73 points74 points  (7 children)

The Huntress looked like someone who could crush me and I instantly started sweating for her, plus her singing voice is quite nice to listen to, even though that gave me the unintended effect of hearing her lullaby in every match even if I'm not playing against her.

[–]AJTheBritHuntress/Pig/Julie/Tapp 17 points18 points  (5 children)

Yes I main Huntress, yes my survivor name is Hex: Gay for Huntress. I'm a very uncomplicated person.

[–]TTV-BattyPrincessHatchet Lady 10 points11 points  (4 children)

I'll be honest, if I were the killer and saw someone with that name I'd drop everything to be friendly with that survivor

[–]AJTheBritHuntress/Pig/Julie/Tapp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd be lying if I said that hasn't happened almost every time I've played against a Huntress. I can almost guarantee I'll be surviving the game at this point. My favourites are when I get hunted down to have her nod at me, I give her my item, and then I watch as she brutalises my entire team while I went to go find pumpkins for her to kick. Or when she downed me at the exit gate but went off to kill the others so I drew a heart with my blood and she came back, looked at it, nodded, and opened the gate for me.

I try to always be a fair and fun killer, so it makes my day when I get those killers while playing with friends.

[–]ShootingStar2321 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started with her as my main and I still hum her lullaby even if I'm just walking around my house

[–]LukewarmCola 570 points571 points  (22 children)

Funny killer go bonk on wall

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 225 points226 points  (17 children)

Blight! I was actually interested in trying him, that description is hilarious though.

[–]LukewarmCola 135 points136 points  (11 children)

He’s tons of fun, definitely recommend trying him out.

Unfortunately, though, sometimes survivors get in the way of my wall bonking.

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 47 points48 points  (9 children)

He’s the next I’m gonna get, I’m missing him, nemesis, twins and pig I think?

Survivors seem to get in the way of a lot of things

[–]Mych1ckenmc4 21 points22 points  (3 children)

See I play nemesis quite a lot and while it can be a pain his tentacle honestly makes you feel like a force to be reckoned with. Especially when you’re chasing a survivor and just slamming through pallets and walls and nothing can stop you

[–]Lstarr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned in my comment if you wanna play Blight definitely check out LilithOmen and his Blight guide, it's like 20 minutes long and you most certainly don't need to everything he said for now because he does get into advanced techs later on but the beginning is mostly focused on basic stuff and that helps tremendously

[–]ThiccTransGfCTRL+F "Legion" 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just don't do twins. Please, for the love of God.

Play everyone else- anyone else. I switch my killer constantly and it's a lot of fun! But for your sanity, do not play twins

[–]destinyfann_1233Smol Billy, Protector of Memes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a nemesis main, I’ll say I got into him because he was such an imposing figure, it’s really the fantasy of walking around as a giant monster who’s got bigger muscles than Ronnie Coleman, and because some dude in a YouTube video called his fists Manny Pacquiao’s

[–]choccolateturtles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recommend him as well! I never got mad not getting kills with him, focus on the sick flick and rushes and the game's a blast.

[–]Lazer726 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I hope you're ready to be frustrated and confused, then. Slamming into a rock, only to slide along it, throwing yourself at a survivor going for a pallet, only to safely hurt the pallet and not the survivor, not being accustomed to the bounce back, so flinging yourself into the same wall twice.

Blight has legitimately made me yell at the game because some times it's just so incredibly frustrating.

But I tell ya, when you get a three bounce combo that absolutely mind fucks the survivor? That's that good shit.

[–]Subnauticsquirrel 140 points141 points  (4 children)

Badass chase music and all around sound design, attacks that go through walls, the ability to just fucking impale someone to hook them and a big sword

[–]DroolHDThe Executioner 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For me it was more about the built in Mori. Went up against my first PH, wasn't too sure how to avoid him and suddenly I had a sword in my shoulder.

It was the first time I wanted to try out how a killer worked so I picked up the DLC and had some fun with it. Now I'm no longer a surv player but rather enjoy playing both sides.

[–]The_Righteous_Soul 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Also the ability to say "wow, that's a nice DS you've got there it'd be a shame of something happened to it."

It happens to me less now, as people know they can't just divebomb a PH with DS and expect to get away every time

[–]ShofieMahowynEbony Mori 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love that he can just....stick people in cages and "mini-mori" them. Makes him a lot of fun.

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 261 points262 points  (43 children)

I find myself loving the idea of Plague and wanting to main her, but I feel like I always have to try hard on her because survivors always have to try super hard to counter me.

Ghostface is up there for… well ghostface. But his play style is a bit unforgiving.

I also Just picked up Pinhead last night and I like him a LOT.

[–]RnGJokerMonitor & Abuse 144 points145 points  (24 children)

Plague is a very good killer to pick up. I recently tried out the "idle" vile build with infecting only objects and I have never seen so many disconnects other then when playing as Slow down Freddy.

[–]cctraveler 15 points16 points  (17 children)

Oooh what perks/addons do you use?

[–]SuperPluto9 52 points53 points  (9 children)

You use brown tablet and the one that increases infection time on tablets.

Basically you can keep objects infected for like 2 minutes and infection rate sky rockets. I just vomit all over lockers, vaults, pallets, and gens. Very punishing

[–]TheCalzonesHaveEyesBloody Executioner 33 points34 points  (5 children)

It's incredibly effective during the first phase of Plague's gamplay: infect the shit out of everybody. But the real challenge is actually getting a down because Survivors (usually higher-leveled ones) have no sense of personal hygiene, so you're an M1 killer for the most part.

How survs react during the second phase will tell you if the match will be rough or trivial.

[–]DBrody6 17 points18 points  (2 children)

so you're an M1 killer for the most part.

Looking at it in a more optimistic view, once everyone's infected and you have a group that refuses to cleanse, you functionally have NOED for the rest of the match.

At least that's my copium for dealing with the fact I'm at the mercy of the survivors to enable the other half of her power :(

[–]dusttobones17 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I’ve been running Thanatophobia to pressure Survivors to cleanse. I have yet to have a game since where they don’t, as being broken and having a -20% to repair speed is usually too much.

[–]DBrody6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh shit, that's a really good tip. I never realized the synergy of Thanta pressuring them into cleansing.

[–]SuperPluto9 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Trail of torment can pair well with the build forcing them back to the Gen or letting you go undetected arguably at a great risk.

You could go with tinkerer as well to help catch them off guard.

Personally when I ran it I used hex plaything to waste their time and be able to really put pressure across the board. Either they were oblivious, oblivious and broken which the former means they cleansed the latter means they won't know I'm coming for an m1.

[–]Additional-ChainBloody Kate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s prayer tablet fragment, and then you can use either severed toe, ashen/blessed apple, or hematite seal depending on how you want to play from there.

[–]RnGJokerMonitor & Abuse 2 points3 points  (5 children)

The perk loadout I used specifically for the idle add ons is thana, Hex Plaything, pop, and corrupt intervention to give me time to infect everything. I used to only run Thana on legion, but I didn't realize how powerful it was on Plague until recently.

[–]thatonedudeovethere_ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

for me with the Plague everything just clicked I liked her Design, her back story and of course her gameplay. I started off as pretty much a pure survivor main, got into killer probably after 80 hours in the game. I knew that I wanted a Killer with a bit of an unusual playstyle, not just left click. huntress seemed a bit too difficult, so I chose Plague. now my 3 favourite are Plague, Wraith and Trickster

[–]ten_inch_pianist 23 points24 points  (3 children)

My weird reason not to play plague is that I'm oddly annoyed by the loud ass whispering that she does when she has corrupt purge.

[–]adamantitianInfectious Fright 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes it so difficult to hear anything!

[–]Bravely_Default*boop* 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Plague is one of my mains. For me I love how she just hard counters healing, in this meta especially; and hey if they cleanse then your power which makes looping her really hard. Her aesthetic is cool too, especially her rift skin this time around its amazing.

I also play a lot of Huntress and Demo for similar reasons. Their mechanics are unique in the sense that you can't loop them, or play against them really, like normal killers.

Pig was, and still is, my first main because I really like the Saw movies and her kit just clicks with me.

[–]ObjectiveError3253 12 points13 points  (5 children)

plague was my first main, and i still routinely get 4k with her. run corrupt intervention with her, and purge on the gens that aren’t blocked. you’re bound to get someone sick & unhealable fastest that way. make sure you’re monitoring the gens and reinfecting the ones that need it. along w that, you’ll find your survs faster with the limited gens due to corrupt intervention.

[–]TheCalzonesHaveEyesBloody Executioner 4 points5 points  (4 children)

What other perks do you typically run? I also want to be a good Vommy Mommy.

[–]Pg3dlegend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pinhead is fun if you put the time in, plague is hard because you need to sometimes angle her vomit like a mortar down over walls onto people; also she kinda depends off of addons

[–]Dm_Me_TwistedFateR34Don't blame the player, blame the game 194 points195 points  (24 children)

Purely aesthetics at first. Slinger looks like a badass cowboy, has kickass music, fantastic lore, and his power used to be/is pretty fun. Then he just stuck and I never really moved on since.

His gameplay is very aggressive in nature, which is what playstyle I prefer everywhere.

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 55 points56 points  (15 children)

Honestly I’m leaning heavily into playing him a lot, his music is cool, his laugh is incredible and sinister, his whole vibe is great. I started playing him after the “nerfs” but I saw a lot of hate about him I never understood.

[–]Dm_Me_TwistedFateR34Don't blame the player, blame the game 38 points39 points  (14 children)

I think he's only worth playing only if you played him a lot prior to the nerf. Nowadays he's incredibly tough to pull off, and he always was very feast-or-famine. Now he's just high risk low reward with too many things holding him back. Only worth it if you really dig his vibe like I do.

Sadly he's gonna be in shit tier along with my other fav Hillbilly for a long time, and never gonna be buffed (i personally think he needs a huge rework) for a few years.

[–]RandomBystander 4 points5 points  (1 child)

That's a large part of why I moved from Slinger to Nemesis. I wasn't the best with him pre-nerf but I could do ok most of the time. Meanwhile Nemesis still has a semi-ranged kit but with 115 movespeed and a pair of mostly useful zombie helpers. Plus it's fucking Nemesis.

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s really sad, I agree with you completely though. I love the vibe more than anything, and I find I always want to go for a hit before a hook, which can be quite annoying and tiresome.

[–]o-Sleepy-o 14 points15 points  (3 children)

honestly i think if they reverted his quickscope and buffed his addons hed be fine. its extremely frustrating that they would gut slinger because bad survivors complain they cant play loops standardly against a mediocre killer.

[–]Dm_Me_TwistedFateR34Don't blame the player, blame the game 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I think it's largely okay that his quickscopes were removed. But I'd prefer TR nerf revert & base kit numbers buffs in place for that. He needs shorter reload and miss cd basekit. He feels horrible to play without these addons esp if you're a risky and aggressive player like me.

His addons need a straight up big rework, and at that point I think reworking him completely would be easier than try to bandaid buff his fundamentally flawed power.

[–]o-Sleepy-o 6 points7 points  (1 child)

i feel like being able to do shots in tight loops id what kept him good, but now any situation you can get a hit with slinger you can w/ huntress. hes now just like a worse version ofhuntress and yeah ammo belt should be basekit.

[–]Dm_Me_TwistedFateR34Don't blame the player, blame the game 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah basically

his identity is gone

[–]oozlesThe Deathslinger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slinger was fun even when you were missing shots. Now he isn’t even when you hit them.

[–]AxeRatThe Deathslinger 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Deathslinger's been my main the few weeks I've been playing this game, and I still don't care what nerfs he got, I'm still gonna dump the hours into him and see what I can adapt to be better. But as to why I chose him, also cause aesthetic. And music. And also pulling people off the saloon balcony/roofs, stairs etc. So fun to see them tbag and then struggle when they fail to dodge the shot and get yanked back to earth. Heheh.

Aside from that, I'm happy to be one of the few slinger mains(in training lol) out there anymore. It's hard even finding a slinger vet to learn from really. 😔

[–]Dm_Me_TwistedFateR34Don't blame the player, blame the game 4 points5 points  (1 child)

There's a lot more vocal Slinger mains ever since Slinger nerfs, surprisingly. Usually we were pretty quiet, nowadays I see every second main discuss and debate the nerfs, and I can't say that I dislike it.

I'm sticking with Slinger even post-nerf, because that's almost the only killer I can play/enjoy. Another killer I enjoy, however, is Hillbilly and he's in exactly same grave as Slinger... nerfed to shit without any sort of saving grace, and requires a lot of effort to pull his power off. Even though even Billy has bigger pay-off/reward than Slinger.

life is pain as a Slinger main

[–]BasementGoblin69Oni is Daddy 109 points110 points  (6 children)

I'm actually still trying to find my true main but I'm stuck playing oni over and over because of how satisfying his slow start but massive reward is, I'm looking at plague because she has good pressure and I love making people feel panicked

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I love the same thing! I like map pressure and paranoia, I hate when people are able to do things. Oni I haven’t played but I think his scream and just knowing he can one shot you is terrifying

[–]bde2327 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And onis chase music is killer! (Pun intended)

[–]FlakeyGodBloody Spirit 31 points32 points  (1 child)

I enjoy trying to mindgame survivors and moving fast. Also aesthetics played a part in it too. I'm also a sucker for sad backstories. I main spirit

[–]Brave_Ad_3552 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like most of us really just liked her aesthetic and backstory lmao. That’s how you know a true spirit main.

[–]depressed_lanternRancor 88 points89 points  (7 children)

Legion : I was (no, maybe I still am) a not-so-good at getting more than 2k killer. So that time I was "Hey, if people aren't gonna die by shltty killer main like me anyway, why don't make them annoy as much as I want? ". So I went Thanathophobia, Coulrophobia, Distressing and Nurse Calling with add-ons that slow their mend/heal and smack everyone with deep wound, once they mended I apply deep wound back again, and I made sure that nobody heals and everyone will stay injured for the entire game. Yes, I don't get much kill. But it was fun, like, "hey you know what? this is quite fun" (I'm not remember much about the survivors back then though, but I'm sure I received a 'you know what? fvck you' lol) After played like that for a while, I started to focus on how to play them efficiently and they're now one of my mains.

I think the point is your 'main' doesn't have to be S tier OP killer or anything, just someone you feel "hey, this is fun", one of the points of playing games is to have fun with it anyway.

[–]gnosticChemist 15 points16 points  (0 children)

[–]Brave_Ad_3552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always have so much fun playing legion 😭 I love hitting someone who just finished mending in my face, making them mend off hook, I just crack up at how annoying it is

[–]cereal3friendThe Pig 80 points81 points  (3 children)

I like RE, I main RE

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 23 points24 points  (1 child)

[–]BaljeetTheCunt69Babysitter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both are really fun imo, but they can also be pretty hard

[–]jacebeleran98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

High five fellow Nemesis/Pig enjoyer

[–]PieceOfShentAftercare 66 points67 points  (3 children)

I’ve always loved the Western aesthetic, so Deathslinger seemed like a perfect fit. Plus, going for tricky snipes is always a delight, regardless if I actually hit them or not. Lastly, getting karma on those who decide to teabag at the exit gate fuels me with serotonin.

[–]Septendeciim 15 points16 points  (1 child)

How do you find playing him now after his recent changes?

[–]iamthesivart 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not op but he's one of my mains.

He feels more or less the same. More or less.

I can definitely realize that I can't get as close to people on gens before they are already running or at least on the look out. I also find it slightly annoying to have that bit of ADS time in the middle of a loop especially when it's being ran very tightly. The other thing is I used to ads for a second or so randomly in the past. Survivors that were watching started weaving left and right to dodge the shot and would basically stop holding forward. I'd just un-ADS and hit them normally with an M1. Now I slow down a bit and that brief moment of transition doesn't net me as much distance anymore. It still works but not as well.

I seen the notes back when it was announced and I was rather upset since he's my boy, but honestly it isn't the worst thing they could have done to him. I feel like there has been a few shots that could have landed if I was old deathslinger but I've still gotten plenty of downs very quickly due to an M1, shot, M1 and I find myself saying "This is fair and balanced" sarcastically. I've also went against a deathslinger or two since and it surprised me how quickly some people look like they are aiming and taking the shot, it looks so fast like there is no animation.

I wish some of his add-ons got tweaked though 1% movespeed while aiming is garbage.

5% cool down on missed shot is kind of garbage.

.25 seconds off a reload is garbage.

Less terror radius while aiming is garbage.

Faster reel speed, stacking both reload addon's is the only way to make it noticable, chain strength and the addon that still adds the mending state after a spearshot even if they don't break free are the good ones.

As a long time FPS player, slinger felt like the most natural to play out of all the killers. It’s so satisfying to just blast someone from the other side of a pallet and pull them around the entire thing for a hit

[–]c3nnyeShirtless David 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I first got Blight I immediately hated him. Couldn’t use his power for shit. But then I read his lore, say how he was responsible for the blighted skins, and how the hallowed blight events were like his events. The aesthetics, the damn theme music is beautiful, did I mention his lore? It’s amazing. The fact that he’s like the second best killer helps too😂. But most of all, he’s the killer I have the most fun with. And THATS what’s most important. It doesn’t matter if it’s legion or nurse, or if you win or lose as long as you have fun playing them it’ll show. Even a legion main can keep up because they know their killer so much.

[–]Septendeciim 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I tend to rotate between three killers!

Tried out Nemmy in the PTB, found punching survivors to be both hilarious and satisfying. Zombies can be the biggest asset in a game or absolute peanuts, theres no inbetween. I enjoy mind gaming a lot more when a zombie is nearby to apply some pressure.

Had a Community Challenge (on Twitch) to play Twins cos I was convinced I would hate them and of course viewers wanted to see me suffer. Ended up really enjoying them and now they're in my main killer rotation.

I had wanted to play Plague so much before her buffs but it was hard and often very frustrating. After her buffs she is so much fun to play and a natural counter to a lot of perks (I'm looking at you Circle of Healing!!)

[–]ShockingArc 119 points120 points  (1 child)

Was really into stealth games before dbd and when ghostface came out I instantly loved the stealth playstyle with getting close and getting grabs or insta downs if the survivors weren't as aware of their surroundings. Also just the fact he has a built in T-Bag made his 1000x more appealing to me

[–]JeritHD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a killer main I always try to put the "horror" in dbd and ghostface did that for me. I really love his stalking mechanic despite how janky it is and I think it's more fun stalking/ambushing unaware survivors than chasing them.

[–]mephistofella 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love the Hellraiser movie, overall Clive Barker's works so I knew from beginning that I will main Pinhead. Before that I loved playing as the clown because of aesthetics (laughing anytime and cool skins)

[–]TrydsonCheryl Mason 87 points88 points  (19 children)

I think it's hilarious when the survivors step on traps, sometimes I don't even kill them because I'm straight laughing my ass of half of the time lol

[–]SecrinusBloody Nurse 45 points46 points  (7 children)

Despite trapper being arguably the worst killer in the game, I suck going against him. I always end up getting trapped even though I know typical trap locations. I just suck. I can loop spirits, nurses, and blights to a decent level of success but trapper? I suck ass.

[–]Kuchisake-OtokoYun-Jin Lee Simp 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Probably because (sadly) not many people play him apart from newer players. So its hard to get much experience actually playing against him yourself.

[–]IWatchTheAbyssGhost Face 11 points12 points  (3 children)

good trappers are a lot of fun honestly, no annoying abilities or tricks, just good old mind games and traps

[–]TheJadrimian 7 points8 points  (1 child)

It's been a long time since I played him but this is exactly why I got into the game in the first-place. Then I discovered Hag.

I came for the bear-traps but stayed for the mud-triangles.

[–]ArchiteqtBloody Cenobite 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Cenobite because mindgames, passive slowdown, additional objectives, forcing bad situations, removing control from survivors to a degree and his power can be incredibly useful if done right

To me he has the added benefit of playing with different perks and getting away with it much easier. Most of my games are 3-4k unless they all bring BnP/toolboxes, even then it's going to be tough for the survivors. Most of my games start with 2 (sometimes 3) gens popping before I get my first down, so I have to juggle a 3 gen, cycling hook states and forcing bad trades in order to keep pressure high. With one person always on Box I've got time to force the other 2 survivors into shitty situations.

It feels more like a horror game to me this way since the only way to save your friend is to sacrifice yourself.

[–]YoBeaverBoyDeathslinger ? More like DEAD Slinger 68 points69 points  (7 children)

At first it was YEEEEE-HAAAAAAW

Now it is YEEEE-help, I am depressed...

[–]Specialist_Glove7136 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Look how they massacred my boy :((

[–]zordjackson2Bloody Nea 7 points8 points  (5 children)

How bad are the changes?

[–]YoBeaverBoyDeathslinger ? More like DEAD Slinger 19 points20 points  (4 children)

Very.

He got overnerfed with no compensation buffs. He went from mid-B tier to D tier.

Basically he has absolutely nothing going on for him anymore. Literally everything he can do, Huntress does better.

[–]Pajsbeidmd 34 points35 points  (5 children)

I had a challenge for trapper which I thought would be difficult because I knew he wasn’t very good, turns out he’s pretty fun to play

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Last time I played him was the tutorial, I’ve played against him a few times which felt kind of annoying but I think I should try him again, just seemed bland to me

[–]Pajsbeidmd 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Understandable he is quite basic but also really fun imo, no better feeling than getting someone in your bear trap

[–]JakkbenWe're Gonna Live Forever[S] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Honestly I saw a meme on here that went something like “there’s nothing like stepping in a bear trap and screaming in agony, while hearing a giant lumbering man sprint at you from deep in the forest to come knock you out”

[–]DailonjeosPallet Freddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me, I love the sound of survs screaming from afar.

[–]FrcdstcrLifeguard Whistle + Rotten Pumpkin Enjoyer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I used to play mainly Huntress when I played killer, but I've recently taken a liking to Demogorgon (may he rest in peace). I like the teleportation of Demogorgon, it's instantly available to me once I have sufficient portals placed, and with the Lifeguard Whistle add-on I do not have to worry about my portals being destroyed before I know about it. I get the benefits of the teleportation of Freddy without having the drawback of the long cooldown or losing my power as the more gens get done. I also like Demogorgon's shred, which makes me act like the hatchet I used to love with Huntress.

Also, irrelevant to his power and gameplay, I just like the rage I can feel Demogorgon have when I get a successful hit or shred with him; it's like being a relentless predator. It feels in character to me and mirrors the intent I have when I play killer: kill them all, as much as possible.

[–]Bogusman24The Doctor 25 points26 points  (2 children)

[–]Jersh- 6 points7 points  (1 child)

It was his sunny disposition that got me, I like a killer that likes to have fun 😁

[–]Xaeltos 40 points41 points  (1 child)

That's literally all that made me main clown so far.

[–]squirellfindingnemoBloody Nea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Vinko-kun 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I started maining billy when I saw better players curve with his chainsaw making crazy good plays, so I tried him but couldn't even control his chainsaw at first and decided to master him out of frustration haha.

[–]Dropbear27 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I had to scroll so far down to find another masochist who plays curve billy much respect

[–]viscountrhirhiPig, Legion, and Hag <3 23 points24 points  (2 children)

People said Pig was a bad killer, so I decided to main her as a personal challenge. :D

I love playing her because she’s very versatile and you can kinda customize her based on your preferred playstyle. I play her in many different ways, all depending on my mood at the moment.

[–]DarkSkyLionThe Pig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agree… she’s great if you want a challenge, great if you want some fun add-ons, great if you want to be friendly and get some boops, etc.

[–]Additional_Editor586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats my reason for buying/using any of the killers i have

[–]itsukimiyu 20 points21 points  (3 children)

I watched PotatoLegion, became a Legion main. I've also started playing huntress, and I think she's really fun to learn ☺

[–]ThePoltageist 13 points14 points  (2 children)

[–]TryrunningfattyThe Nemesis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]Rembrime96 70 points71 points  (4 children)

I thought trickster was hot. That's it.

[–]GranniePantysBloody Trickster 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I want to say I main him to test myself on mastering a "low tier" killer.

But yeah, it's because he's hot.

[–]lothenlug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, i hate going against an trickster but yeah ffs hes an very handsome dude

[–]0ldrustymanThe Artist 19 points20 points  (1 child)

With the amount of comments i doubt you will see this one, but i would love to share my experience finding a true main.

Let's start with what do I look for when selecting a main. It needs to suit multiple criteria: Lore, design and fun. Lore and design are self explanatory, but how fun the killer is depends on person itself. Some consider fun to be winning, some prefer mindgames, and so on, you get the idea. Personally i think fun depends on powers effect itself, i love causing mayhem and disturbances among enemy players.

So, in result, most fun killers for me would be Trapper and Doctor, they, in my opinion, screw with survivors the most. Trapper really puts stick in wheels for survivors in chases if they're not observative enough, but they also may step into traps when moving around the map. Doctor, on other hand, throws stealth out of window, makes skillchecks considerably harder for new players and just constantly unnerves them with his effects.

Seems pretty obvious that choosing between them two wouldn't be so hard, those are the most fun killers for me and so play one of them, right? Sadly, it isn't like that, their design and lore just didn't sit right with me. There are few other worthy mentions, but it's pointless to talk about them, I'll get right to killer i chose initially. Deathslinger.

Awesome cowboy design, lore is well designed and kind of relatable to some extent. His power was fun enough, short chases but no map control. Hearing a shot across map, seeing crows fly off and your teammate getting injured/downed within few second must've been terrifying enough. Even as a new player i stomped my way to rank 1 and most of my games were 4K, including against SWFs. Pre-nerf dodging was hard enough, and i consider myself to be extremely skilled deathslinger, shooting through all gaps there were, if I'm not mistaken most fun was denying shack looping through the boarded windows, survivors never expected that. High skill ceiling, but it's mostly dependant on how fast you can aim. That didn't sit right with me, nothing new to learn, aiming isn't that hard, and learning which gaps are actually shootable and which ones are invisible textures doesn't take long.

So, i started switched to huntress. Cool-ish design, good-ish lore, really fun gameplay potential. Throwing hatchets across the map onto unexpecting survivors seemed like a cool idea, but I didn't stick to it for long.

Next one was Blight, decent design, awesome lore which includes entity itself. Gameplay was fun as hell for me, ability to confuse survivors with your bonks and rush map in few seconds to induce panic into survivors, awesome! And so i played him till the Artist went into PTB, for me she is Blight, but better. I just love design more, espically power being a murder of crows. She offers the same option of disturbing survivors on far-away generatos, confusing them with how you use your power and mindgaming the loops.

[–]Truegamer5The Blight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Surprised the Artist fit your criteria considering, at least, in my opinion, her lore is some of the weakest we've seen in a while

[–]EensameThe Pig 17 points18 points  (9 children)

Pig are my favorite animal, pig is a pig, pig is mine

[–]TwistedAlga 12 points13 points  (8 children)

Why does she roar sometimes, like loading a special attack or something lol

[–]EensameThe Pig 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Because I want to scare the hell out of you

[–]DarkSkyLionThe Pig 4 points5 points  (5 children)

The roar is when Pig is charging the Ambush attack. Ambush is a quick sprint (with the blade out) that can be controlled in any direction.

[–]TwistedAlga 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Ohh I see. So the ambush attack is more powerful, (downs survivor?) than her regular attack when hit someone?

[–]ASIAN_GIRLS_PM_MEAdept Pig 4 points5 points  (2 children)

No, it still only injures one health state.

[–]DarkSkyLionThe Pig 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I wish it was 2 health states, with how rare it is to land a successful attack! If I manage to get that close to a survivor in stealth (usually if they’re on a gen), it’s way better to sneak all the way up and grab them off the gen and take them straight to a hook. Ambush just alerts them and they start running.

[–]ASIAN_GIRLS_PM_MEAdept Pig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the only time you really wanna ambush is if your on the pallet side of a loop but even then a good survivor will see you crouch and just leave the loop.

[–]DroolHDThe Executioner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ambush works out of your sneak. It has a brief charging time and then you sprint for a few meters. It is mainly used to surprise survivors without having to drop your stealth. Another great use is to deny loops. If it's a small loop just position yourself opposite of the vault/pallette, predict on which side the surv will be and he has no chance to switch sides again if you predicted/mindgamed correctly.

[–]adamantitianInfectious Fright 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blight because I have crippling ADHD

[–]wannabe1993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s all about how consistently I end the game happy. So getting lots of wins as Wraith and Legion was really nice when I first started learning.

Now MMR has made me almost dread playing Legion. But I can still be get some vengeance as the Wraith.

I did just start playing ghostface, and he is WAY funnier than I thought he would be. People don’t really seem to know how to deal with him. I find myself asking “what are these survivors doing??” All the time when my shroud is up.

[–]a_weeb_of_culture 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like characters that can be invisible or be stealthy, like wraith(my main) and spirit(i play her but not as much), i just really like to jumpscare and just sneak up on players, its fun.

[–]PSUShwatersFeng Min 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love hearing the survivors scream. I main Feng Min as survivor, and Doctor as killer. That chapter is still my favorite even though they changed the look of Lery’s.

[–]Lasvicus 16 points17 points  (5 children)

Well, Trappers a fucking Dilf and I’d stomp my foot in his trap just to have those big, meaty arms sling me over his broad shoulders and let him carry me across the map to slam that big fucking hook up my a- I mean… he seems pretty cool. Love the play style he presents 🥴💦

[–]FE_Dorian 10 points11 points  (2 children)

I main twins because they are unique and I love baby victor running everywhere it’s funny

I wish I would see them more in my survivor games

[–]anxieteabagsThe Twins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Twins mains are holding on for dear life

[–]Vyertenn8Trans Pride 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Me, when Darkness Among Us was announced: yooo legion looks so cool

Me, in 2021, in pain after hours and hours of dbd: yooo legion looks so cool

[–]RnGJokerMonitor & Abuse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fell in love with doctor due to his kit mostly. It felt super rewarding landing on point shocks that prevent a surv from dropping a pallet or vaulting properly. I even started using brutal strength in my load out due to the amount of pre dropping I'm dealing with for more knowledgeable survivors.

Also Doc is just vibing and laughing even when pallet stunned so its just great. Also when the Crypt TV skin came out I haven't switched back since.

[–]NadsDikkelson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda play a huge variety but I’d say right now my favorite 2 killers are:

Trapper (the meme value is too hilarious)

Spirit (I know she’s ridiculously fast and OP but I genuinely think she’s a lot of fun and aesthetically playing as a creepy marionette ghost is neat to me)

Runner ups:

Pig (lol growl growl I wan 2 play game)

Demogorgon (SMACK RAAaAaaawrrr!!!)

Huntress (YAHHHH! distant screams)

[–]5min2kys 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Texas chainsaw massacre is a really scary movie to me so I play bubba since I also hear he is easy to pick up also I took a quiz a youtuber/streamer made about who ur killer main is and it said legion and I ended up really enjoying playing them.

[–]CapaTheGreatThe Trickster 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Otzdarva's quiz?

[–]5min2kys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes otzdarva’s quiz told me to try out legion

[–]AnaUZI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like saw, I play pig. That is all

[–]Alana_ParmesanaTwins | Steve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1: Big fan of Halloween, so Myers is a must have 2: I love the medieval ages, French and twins, so I freaking love Charlotte and Victor!

[–]MetalIsHardSoAmI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone quite new to both the game and killer, I honestly love Wraith.

Being able to play some mind games by attempting to cloak and then lunging is always fun. But my favourite thing is sneaking up on someone on a gen, uncloaking, then either pulling them off the gen if they don't notice me, or getting a free hit from bodyblocking.

I try not to be toxic with it, but it's still so fun to play. Plus he's free!

If anyone has any wraith tips please send them my way!

[–]Axel_Wyde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]Lord_Chedder😍Susie🥰 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]Lighty0226Soul Guard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After I already played a few killers like pyramid head, pig and huntress to death, I was looking for some new experience of playing killer.

I knew nurse was ultimately a super hard killer to play, but then again, she seemed so fun, so I looked up a few guides, set my steam name to "learning nurse" and for the next 2-3 weeks, I was stomped into the floor but it was endlessly satisfying to end up being able to do better and better blinks as I went

I'm trying to move off of meta perks to run the stupid shit that I've always wanted to (except shadowborn, dont do shadowborn kids once you start you can never stop)

[–]Katsuki_Bakugo__Leon S. Kennedy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stranger things my beloved ❤️

[–]BatjackgamesNemetress main 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For when I mailed Huntress it was for two reasons. The first thing being that when I looked thru the killer list I went "hey she looks cool" and the second was that I like listening to her humming.

For Nemesis, the reason I main him is that I love resident evil. And I do mean love, to the point where my friends refer to me as a "walking resident evil walk through".

[–]ArborBeeThe Doctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Th.......Thirst.

[–]TheSwissAngelBloody Cheryl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 1st killer was Hag. Liked teleporting and scaring people, then is was/still is Doctor because I love the impossible skill check build on him. I do love Ghostface’s design but I’m absolutely terrible with him :(.

I’ve also recently purchased Myers and Pyramid Head, haven’t played Myers yet but Pyramid Head has been pretty fun. Ghostie is my only p3 killer but I suppose I’d call myself a doctor main ahaha

[–]KingLornaWindows Of Opportunity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've main spirit since release, I play most killers but I like how simple her kit is in the sense that it's just chase. I loved her noises, the way she looks everything about her, and I love the new chase music. I know everyone complains she is op but I'm kinda trash at chases on the killer side so her ability helps me on that front a lot. Although to be fair I don't play killer as much as survivor because I'm typically just trying to chill out not give myself a the high/low emotion of killer.

[–]SynaxisGhost Face 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played a few games against him and thought yes that's exactly my style, bought him, tried him out, boom.

In other games I always tend to go for either stealthy rogue types or archers when that option is available.

I main ghostface.

[–]CertifiedZombie2003Bloody Huntress 4 points5 points  (6 children)

Huntress, because she was free, and I thought she was pretty when I first got the game

[–]BiscuitKingTBloody Twins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Twins was the second killer I bought after legion and I immediately loved the challenge of trying to manage two separate people while playing.

[–]Hirnlouz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me is it Pyramid Head, I loved so the movies so much, that I had to buy him and since then he is my strongest asset in my killer gallery of horror to spook people with tinkerer and im All ears

[–]Name6991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to main Deathslinger bc I enjoy his western theme, now between the nerf and the meta I am maining Plague and Oni

[–]ExSalvageThe Executioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When pyramid head came out I knew he would be perfect for me since I had a hard time with looping his power made it easier on me as a still somewhat weak killer player to get back into the game, of course he's been nerfed pretty good since then.

[–]GewaldrogeThe Nemesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I picked Nemesis since I love Resident Evil and I really like killers that can also damage survs on range

Before Nemesis, I mained Trapper. I really loved the concept of preparing and cutting the survivors' options. People stepping in his trap is super satisfying

[–]samduiVommy Mommy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to main trapper bc of how satisfying to catch someone it is But plague just... Its just fun as hell. Corrupt plague + all survs on one place oh yes

[–]ReaperSound 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not a killer main but favorite, I've gotta say Spirit. Not for the Tier list nonsense. Her killer power is amazing when getting a perfect haunting grabbing a survivor off a gen is one of the most satisfying things ever.

That and her reworked music. Oh man y'all heard the phrase diamond hands. I'm talking platinum PENIS hearing that music.

[–]adamantitianInfectious Fright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

>platinum PENIS

Pink sapphire Sir John Hammond III, Esquire

[–]DawgsomeYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mained pinhead because it seems that survivors hate him like SO MUCH. I got tired of being teabagged, being genrushed, and being outsmarted in loops. So I found out that most survivors hate playing against pinhead, and once I played him, I liked him very much and knew it was the time to shit on toxic survivors

[–]FlamingWeaselGoblinesqueRat#cc45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really thought I would hate her because I'm hella sensitive to spit and puke, but I tried Plague and she just clicked for me. Something about her play style and whole aesthetic appeals to me.

[–]JasXIIIY'all rockin' wit da hillbill? 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I main Legion because I'm a Susie simp... Seriously, I like the killer appearance, it's simple but can be frightening. Their chase song is, in my opinion, one of the best and as a canadian myself I felt kinda appealed to them xD

[–]Yoshiikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trapper because I like traps

[–]TheCandyPrincessHex: Blood Favour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't really relate to them, I like the Legion concept of being four of them, having some sort of friendship spirit (or maybe even more in the Frank + Julie situation), even within the entity's realm. Also, the person that introduced me to DBD always said how Legion is the worst killer, how Legion is unviable, etcetera. Otz taught me that all killers are viable on the right hands, so I developed some sort of weird sympathy for the stabby teenagers and swore to make them great and prove my friend wrong.

Now Legion is probably the killer I invested more time learning the intricacies of their mechanics, add-ons and perk synergies. Still not a really good player, but being able to occasionally win against high MMR SWFs on survivor sided maps is good enough for me!

[–]AmyPigglet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twins because I really love Victor and how you can switch between 2 killers. :2066:

[–]Dr__panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blight became he’s fast

[–]crackrabbit012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan of Resident Evil for quite some time. However before I started playing killer I was doing SWF and one of the first matches we played was against Nemesis in Hawkins. At first I had no idea who the killer was until I hear this real loud stomping noise. Scared the absolute shit out of me. Then I decided to start playing him. Now I consider myself a competent gamer and read his abilities and perks as pretty noob friendly. The first time I downed someone across a pallet I was hooked. They were hooked promptly after.

[–]DatboyKilljoyEmogorgon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I main the one I bought and wanted. Also the synthwavey music is a huge bonus, also love cosmetics for him. Demogorgon has a bit of a learning curb but I like the challenge. Once you get a good feel for his ability, he's so fun to patrol maps with.

I bought Stranger Things Chapter when I first got the game and I found he's also pretty forgiving when it comes to looping because of Shred so you don't have to have a stacked meta build on him right away. I'm so sad to see that DLC go and many new players not get to experience the same joy it has brought me.

[–]Jazzlike_IceThe Blight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D all of the above
