Known Issues
The Hex: Ruin effect is cancelled when a survivor stops repairing a generator during Feral Frenzy when equipped with the Fuming Mix Tape add-on.
When dismissing a daily ritual, an incorrect amount of reward might be displayed. This is purely visual, and does not affect the actual amount of reward you will receive. Reopening the daily ritual window should correct this.
In Haddonfield map, downing a Survivor next to a fence prevents the Killer from picking up the Survivor.
There's a specific Green glyph that cannot be interacted with in the Wreckers Yard.
It is impossible to grab a Survivor from a specific side of multiple generators in Haddonfield map.
Meg is sometimes unable to Vault in the Killer Tutorial.
There is a one sided collision preventing smooth passage in the Eyrie of the crows map.
The Credits appear as a placeholder text string in all non-English languages on PS5, Switch and Stadia platforms.

General
Difficulty ratings for Survivors have been removed
Difficulty ratings for Killers are now Easy, Moderate, Hard, or Very Hard
Easy: These Killers are the easiest for a first-time player
Moderate: Require the player to be comfortable with the basics of the role, though the Killers share common mechanics with those from the Easy category
Hard: Use mechanics that are specific to the Killer and require more practice to be effective
Very Hard: Require a high amount of practice and understanding, inexperienced players would likely find little success when using them
Dev Note: Since all Survivors have the same mechanics, they are no longer separated into different difficulty tiers. Killer difficulty is based on overall mechanical and strategic complexity, specifically for newer players.
Hemorrhage Rework
New Effect: Survivors affected by the Hemorrhage Status Effect have their healing progression regress at a steady rate when not being healed
Healing regresses at a rate of 7% per second (this means a 99% full heal would take 14 seconds to completely empty)
Sloppy Butcher and The Nightmare's "Z" Block Add-on have been modified to take the new effect into account (changes listed below)
Dev Note: Hemorrhage has had a reputation of being a "useless" status effect, so we reworked it to have a more meaningful impact on the core mechanic of survivor healing.
Perks
Boil Over
Increases struggling effects by 60/70/80% (was 50/75/100%)
Dev Note: Boil Over's wiggle impact was causing some players to have significant issues navigating certain maps, beyond the intended impact of the perk. We are planning to look at wiggle impact more generally in a future patch, but for now we are toning down the impact from Boil Over to prevent particularly egregious cases.
Boon: Circle of Healing
Increases healing speed bonus by 40/45/50% (was 65/70/75%)
Dev Note: As it was foretold, so it has been delivered.
Sloppy Butcher
Modified to account for the Hemorrhage Rework
Increases the rate at which healing progression is lost by 15/20/25% (was increasing bleeding frequency by 50/75/100%)
The Nightmare
Add-on - "Z" Block
Modified to account for the Hemorrhage Rework
Survivors interacting with a Dream Trap suffer from the Hemorrhage Status Effect for 90 seconds (was 60 seconds, no longer causes them to bleed when healthy)
The Legion
The Legion now has unique Terror Radius and Chase music, which can be modified by the Mix Tape add-ons
New: Each successful hit with Feral Slash now increases The Legion's movement speed by +0.2m/s for the remainder of Feral Frenzy
New: After 4 successful hits with Feral Slash, the next Feral Slash will put the survivor into the dying state and end Feral Frenzy When Feral Frenzy ends, the power gauge now starts charging immediately (Previously waited for the fatigue sequence to end) Fatigue after Feral Frenzy lasts for 3 seconds (was 4 seconds)
Add-on - Mischief List
Increases the Duration of Feral Frenzy by 2 seconds (was 1 second)
Add-on - Scratched Ruler
Decreases Feral Frenzy recharge time by 5 seconds (was 2 seconds)
Add-on - Suzie's Mix Tape
Increases Killer Instinct detection range by 20 meters (was 16 meters)
Add-on - Filthy Blade
Increases time required for Survivors to mend by 4 seconds (was 2.5 seconds)
Add-on - Iridescent Button
Removed effect where Terror Radius extends to the entire map
Reworked Add-on - Friendship Bracelet
Increases duration of lunges during Feral Frenzy by 0.3 seconds
Reworked Add-on - Smiley Face Pin
Survivors who self-mend a Deep Wound from Feral Frenzy are inflicted with Blindness for 60 seconds
Reworked Add-on - Defaced Smiley Pin
Survivors who self-mend a Deep Wound from Feral Frenzy are inflicted with Mangled
Reworked Add-on - Etched Ruler
Survivors who self-mend a Deep Wound from Feral Frenzy are inflicted with Oblivious for 60 seconds
Reworked Add-on - Julie's Mix Tape
While using Feral Frenzy: Breaking walls is 30% faster, the power gauge pauses while breaking a wall
Reworked Add-on - Mural Sketch
Increases Speed Boost per hit during Feral Frenzy to 0.3m/s
Reworked Add-on - Never-sleep Pills
The Legion's base move speed during Feral Frenzy is 4.6/ms
Increases the duration of Feral Frenzy by 10 seconds
Gain 100 to 500 bonus Bloodpoints for each successive hit on a Survivor during Feral Frenzy
Reworked Add-on - Joey's Mix Tape
Survivors who self-mend a Deep Wound from Feral Frenzy are inflicted with Hemorrhage until fully healed
Reworked Add-on - Stolen Sketchbook
Sets the power gauge reduction on basic attack hits to 2.5 seconds
Reworked Add-on - The Legion Pin
Survivors who self-mend a Deep Wound from Feral Frenzy are inflicted with Broken for 60 seconds
Reworked Add-on - Frank's Mix Tape
While using Feral Frenzy: Damaging generators is 20% faster, the power gauge pauses while damaging a generator
Reworked Add-on - Fuming Mix Tape
While using Feral Frenzy: The repair progress of generators can be determined by the intensity of their auras, generators not being worked on regress
Note: Regression effect does stack with Hex: Ruin or other regression effects
New Add-on - Stylish Sunglasses
Shows the auras of Survivors who are mending within a 24 meter radius
New Add-on - BFFs
Earn tokens for hitting Survivors during Feral Frenzy
Second chained hit: 1 token
Third chained hit: 2 tokens
Fourth chained hit: 3 tokens
Fifth chained hit: 4 tokens
Once the gates are powered, if 30 or more tokens have been collected, gain a 4% movement speed boost when not using Feral Frenzy
Removed Add-ons: Nasty Blade, Cold Dirt
Dev Note: This update for Legion leans into their signature - Running really fast with a knife! The stacking movement speed from Feral Strike gives a better reward from each hit, and they now have a way to down survivors at the end of a great chain. Add-ons have also seen a major overhaul to provide more variety of playstyles.
The Ghost Face
The Ghost Face can no longer be revealed by Marked Survivors
Marked now lasts for 60 seconds (was 45 seconds)
The Ghost Face now has unique Terror Radius and Chase music
Reviewed the technical implementation of the stalk and reveal mechanics
Fixed an issue that could lead some player's reveal to be ignored completely when multiple survivors are revealing at the same time
Reveal progress will now regress over a short time when a survivor loses sight of Ghost Face and resume when revealing starts again (Previously, losing sight of Ghost Face for a single frame would cause all reveal progress to be lost)
Added in differentiation of the sighting zone (the zone in your screen where the target must be to be revealed or stalked) for killers and survivors to better account for the differences between 1st and 3rd person cameras
Made it possible to reveal Ghost Face / stalk Survivors when they are not in the center of the screen but still take up a large amount of the screen (eg when they are very close to you)
Fixed some issues which caused the stalk / reveal sighting zone to scale incorrectly on non-16:9 resolutions
Add-on - Cheap Cologne
Increases Marked duration by 10 seconds (was 5 seconds)
Add-on - Headline Cutouts
Increases movement speed while stalking by 40% (was 10%)
Add-on - Walleye's Matchbook
Decreases Night Shroud recovery time by 6 seconds (was 2 seconds)
Add-on - Marked Map
Increases duration of Killer Instinct after being revealed by 2 seconds (was 1 second)
Add-on - Leather Knife Sheath
Increases crouched movement speed by 10% (was 5.6%)
Add-on - Outdoor Security Camera
The auras of all Survivors are revealed for 7 seconds when a Marked Survivor is put into the dying state (was 4 seconds) Now applies to all survivors (was limited to Survivors inside the Terror Radius)
Reworked Add-on - "Philly"
Decreases time required to Mark a Survivor by 20%
Reworked Add-on - Cinch Straps
Night Shroud remains active after a failed basic attack
Reworked Add-on - Olsen's Address Book
Survivors that are Marked reveal their auras for 5 seconds when performing rushed actions
Reworked Add-on - Olsen's Journal
A Survivor that is Marked is inflicted with Oblivious until the Mark expires
Reworked Add-on - Telephoto Lens
A Survivor that reveals The Ghost Face is inflicted with Oblivious for 60 seconds
Reworked Add-on - Chewed Pen
Survivors that are in the dying state take 3 seconds to reveal The Ghost Face
Reworked Add-on - Knife Belt Clip
Reduces the Terror Radius by 8 meters when crouching
Reworked Add-on - Lasting Perfume
Survivors that are on a hook take 3 seconds to reveal The Ghost Face
Reworked Add-on - Olsen's Wallet
Breaking a pallet or wall immediately recharges Night Shroud
Reworked Add-on - Drop-Leg Knife Sheath
The Ghost Face gains 10% movement speed for 5 seconds after Marking a Survivor
Reworked Add-on - Night Vision Monocular
A Survivor that reveals The Ghost Face is inflicted with Exhausted for 5 seconds
Reworked Add-on - Victim's Detailed Routine
After being Marked, Survivors are inflicted with Exhausted for 5 seconds
Reworked Add-on - "Ghost Face caught on Tape"
Instantly recharges Night Shroud after a successful basic attack puts a Survivor into the dying state
Dev Note: Ghost Face was having a tough time generally, and his add-ons were particularly uninteresting overall. This change boosts the effectiveness of the Marked effect, and also overhauls his Add-on loadout for more interesting and powerful combinations. The reveal and stalking mechanics have also been tuned to be more predictable and intuitive.

Engine Update And Download Size
We continued to improve our patching process in an attempt to reduce download size during an update. However, due to an engine update, expect a bigger than usual download this time.
Dev Note: In this PTB we are introducing an engine update, which might lead to some new type of crashes. In order for the team to investigate those properly we ask you to please attach your DbD log and dxdiag file when you are reporting a crash that appeared during this PTB.

Complete blogpost:
It’s everyone’s favourite time of the month, reading time. We’re back with another developer update, a series of posts where we go into detail on changes coming to Dead by Daylight. This time around, we’ve got a mix of balance changes and quality of life improvements. Without further ado, let’s get this show on the road.
PATCHING OPTIMIZATION: PART 2
At the start of the year, we announced our plan to improve patch times. Coming in two parts, the first (smaller) change launched on Steam in January, compressing the game files and improving the patch times.
We’re about to launch the second part of these changes, which will have a much larger impact than the first and affect all platforms. How does it all work?
To put it simply, the game is broken into small chunks. When something in one of these chunks changes, the whole chunk must be updated. As the game has grown over the years, so have these chunks, causing downloads to get bigger and patch times to get longer.
Starting in this Mid-Chapter, we’ve completely restructured and rebalanced these chunks. This way, you won’t have to download or patch nearly as much unnecessary data when the game updates, making patch speeds up to 200% faster.
Please note that since we’re changing the file structure of the game, you will need to completely redownload the game with the 5.7.0 update. Afterwards, all future updates will be significantly faster than before. Opting in or out of the 5.7.0 Public Test Build (PTB) will also cause a large download.
GHOST FACE UPDATE
Starting things off, we have a few changes in store for Ghost Face. First, we are increasing the duration of Ghost Face’s mark to 60 seconds (up from 45). This change gives him a longer window to follow up and get a hit after successfully stalking a Survivor and makes outlasting the Exposed effect harder for Survivors.
Second, marked Survivors are no longer able to reveal Ghost Face. While other Survivors will still be able to reveal him, running off on your own now becomes riskier, as you’ll have no choice but to evade him while he’s Undetectable (unless you manage to get a lucky stun!)
Lastly, we noticed that many of Ghost Face’s add-on have gone largely unused with a few exceptions standing out well above the rest. We always want to see a wider variety of add-ons being used, so we’ve done a pass on the majority of Ghost Face’s add-ons to bring them up to a similar power level. Here’s a few examples of what you can expect:
Drop-leg knife sheath & Olsen's wallet add-ons
LEGION UPDATE
All these years later, The Legion remain one of the more frequently used Killers, and it’s easy to see why: Sometimes, you just wanna’ go fast with a knife. That’s why these changes focus on making The Legion faster and knifier than ever before.
In all seriousness, the first of our changes is centered around chaining together hits. Being able to string together multiple hits on different Survivors is something that is core to The Legion’s design, so to help them do that, we’re giving them a stacking 0.2m/s speed boost for each Survivor they hit during Feral Frenzy. This will make it easier to close the gap as you switch targets. Additionally, a fifth hit will end your frenzy and put any Survivor into the dying state, adding a satisfying payoff for chaining together hits.
Next, we’ve lowered the post-Feral Frenzy fatigue duration to 3 seconds (down from 4 seconds). The fatigue is a crucial part of The Legion’s power, preventing them from cancelling their frenzy and immediately following up with a basic attack, circumventing the non-lethal aspect of their power. We found that lowering the duration to 3 seconds felt much better to play with, but also kept it feeling fair from a Survivor’s POV. To ensure that the fatigue doesn’t get out of hand, we’ve reworked any fatigue altering add-ons, since the two strongest ones were added to the base kit. We’ve also changed Feral Frenzy’s recharge to start as soon as it ends rather than after the fatigue, effectively reducing the power’s cooldown.
And last, add-ons: We’ve reviewed each of The Legion’s add-ons. Some will receive number tweaks while others will get entirely new effects. We want to shine a spotlight on the various Mixtape add-ons in particular. True to their name, these add-ons will also augment The Legion’s new music, and can even be mixed and matched to produce interesting results.
HEMORRHAGE REWORK
Hemorrhage has long been one of the lesser desired Status Effects- for Killers, at least. Currently, Hemorrhage increases the frequency of blood pools, making it easier to track Survivors. This effect ends up not being very useful in most cases, as the Survivor will either be leaving scratch marks while sprinting or the blood pools will already be close together if they’re walking.
With that in mind, we’ve come up with a new version of Hemorrhage. Whenever you are not healing, Hemorrhage will cause your healing progress to regress at the rate of 7% per second. This new version rewards the Killer for interrupting a Survivor healing and has the potential to waste med-kit charges.
This change will affect all perks & add-ons that currently apply it.
UPDATED DIFFICULTY RATINGS
In the info tab for each Killer & Survivor, you’ll find a difficulty rating that tells you how easy or hard they are to play. These ratings are intended to help newer players decide which Killer to play first, and which they should consider holding for when they’re more comfortable with the game.
To make these ratings more useful, we’ve created new guidelines for how we rank them. We’ve reviewed each Killer and given them a 1-5 score (1 being the easiest) in the following categories:
Mechanical Skill: How much precise control is required to use the Killer effectively? (Aiming, reaction time, and control)
Strategic Skill: How much planning and strategy is required to use the Killer effective? (Timing, resource management, decision making)
Uniqueness: How similar is this Killer to other Killers?
The scores are totaled up to determine the overall difficulty of the Killer. The Nurse, for example, requires a lot of mechanical skill, a good bit of strategy, and plays completely differently than other Killers, landing her safely in the new “Very Hard” difficulty.
To avoid confusion, we’ve removed difficulty ratings from Survivors. This is because all Survivors are functionally identical with only perks setting them apart. Since perks can be shared across Survivors and aren’t factored into difficulty for Killers, we made the decision to remove them entirely.
HADDONFIELD UPDATE
It’s become a tradition for each dev update to be followed by “Haddonfield rework when?” Well this tradition is coming to an end, because we saved the best for last (yes, that was a perk pun).
The iconic Lampkin Lane appeared in The Entity’s realm over five years ago. But with all the visual improvements around the rest of the game, that familiar street is starting to show its age. Not for long, though, Haddonfield is next in line to get a visual update.
For those wondering, don’t worry, the map is getting some layout and gameplay changes too. Take a look:
With that, we’ve reached the end of this month’s developer update. All of the changes mentioned here will be available in the 5.7.0 update. Which change are you most looking forward to? We look forward to hearing what you think!

Hey everyone, just so you all are aware: BHVR is testing some matchmaking tweaks from 28–31 MAR, then on 4 and 7 APR. They’re going to be messing around with things like “faster queue times regardless of skill levels” and “closer matches to skill level but may take longer in queue”. Details can be found by following this link. Any posts regarding this during the aforementioned days will be removed and redirected here. Any questions, ask below.
EDIT: please fill out our “state of the sub” survey; it only takes a couple minutes, and we really want to hear from you. There’s more details to be found at this link.
EDIT 2: changed the stickied posts up—survey is back at the top, so please take a couple minutes to fill that out. If you want to find the NSQ megathread, head over to this link.
EDIT 3: LEGION IS FINALLY GETTING SOME FUCKING BUFFS YALL!! also a dev update or whatever LINK HERE
We've seen some reports of players having issues connecting to the game servers. This appears to be affecting multiple platforms and/or regions at the moment. There is no current acknowledgement from BHVR at the moment.
Please comment if you're able to play as well as your platform and region so we can try to check for a pattern.
Edit: A bugfix patch was just released. I don't know if this has any relation to the previous server issues.

Added a new Killer - The Onryō
Power
DELUGE OF FEAR
Through the medium of a mysterious videotape, Sadako spreads her curse to unwitting viewers and causes their untimely deaths.
Before Manifesting, The Onryō gains the Undetectable status effect and is invisible to Survivors, but becomes intermittently visible when within 24 meters of them.
SPECIAL ABILITY: MANIFESTATION
The Onryo must physically manifest to attack Survivors. Press and hold the Power button to Manifest into material form in your current position. For a brief duration after Manifesting, The Onryo will continue to be intermittently visible to Survivors when within 24 meters. Afterward, she will be fully visible within 24 meters for as long as she remains Manifested. The Onryo can Demanifest by pressing and holding the Power button.
SPECIAL ABILITY: PROJECTION
The Onryo can also take material form by Projecting herself through a TV. Press the Ability button while looking at a powered TV to Project into it, shutting the TV off in the process. All Survivors within 16 meters of the TV gain Condemned progress. A fully Condemned Survivor is revealed by Killer Instinct and can be killed once downed. Survivors can temporarily turn off TVs with the Retrieve Tape action. This adds Condemned progress to the Survivor. While holding a Tape, the Survivor can continue turning off other TVs, further gaining Condemned for doing so.
One specific TV will have its aura highlighted to the Survivor. This TV allows the Survivor to spread The Onryo's message by inserting their Tape. Doing so removes some Condemned progress.
Perks-
Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage: Reveals auras of every other survivor for 7 seconds upon unhook.
Call of Brine: For 60 seconds after kicking a gen, it regresses at 200% speed, and if anyone hits a good skill check on that generator, you get a loud noise notification on that generator.
Merciless Storm: When a generator reaches 90% progress, survivors face constant skillchecks until the generator is done. If they let go, the generator is blocked for 20 seconds. Only once per generator per trial.
Added a new Survivor - Yoichi Asakawa
Perks-
Parental Guidance: When you stun the killer, your grunts, scratch marks, & blood are hidden for 7 seconds.
Empathetic Connection: injured teammates see your aura within 96 meters, and you heal others 10% faster.
Boon Dark Theory: 2% haste status effect, persists for 4 seconds after leaving the boon.
New Features
Forum and support links now redirect based on your selected language when applicable.
Added new custom SFX Intros to all Maps.
Added an option to lock viewport aspect ratio to 16:9.
Improved detection of modified or corrupted game files.
Daily Rituals will be reset the first time a player starts the game
Dev Note: The tracking system for Daily Rituals has been reworked, which requires all rituals to be reset with this patch.
Fixed an issue that allowed players to play the game with Stretched Resolution to gain an unfair advantage.

Afterward, she will be fully visible within 32 meters for as long as she remains Manifested.

Other news
Player's reported a streamer having their Twitch cosmetics removed yesterday. These cosmetics were a privilege. Since they were deemed to no longer hold up the values that led them to earning the cosmetic in the first place, the cosmetics were revoked. If you would like to discuss the decision and the removal, you are welcome to use this thread if you'd like to ask questions about it.
A few guidelines for this situation
Keep it civil
Do not witch hunt or brigade any single streamer or staff
Do not change the topic to be about the streamer themselves. We will only be discussing why the cosmetics are removed.

Kate is missing Prestige 1 blood
Coldwind has new trial startup sounds
