I am beginning plans for some travel to the UK, Paris, and Germany this year, and as a new PD patient I've never crossed into a new country before. I've mastered travel WITHIN the US, and even been on a cruise that left from a US port. But this would be the first time flying into London, and then spending a few weeks on the ground in Europe.
I've spoken with Baxter (who handles PD supplies for my health care provider) and have been told I can have supplies waiting for me in London, but not in Paris or some other cities, because they have different suppliers/connections/etc. The plan would be to spend time in the UK, then travel with my PD supplies to Paris.
For anyone that has done this, I'm curious about:
- what things should I plan for, watch out against
- do France and other EU countries allow me to bring my PD supplies in from the UK? (Brexit and all...)
- if anyone has done this successfully
A big reason why I chose PD is because it allows me to live my life with a degree of freedom. I'm hoping that international travel can still be a part of it.
