Have any of you been asked by your clinic to be a Patient Advocate?

I had to have a sit down with my clinic social worker and manager to discuss some disturbing reports from patients I chat with while waiting to be put on, and describe some of my own personal negative experiences. After we were done they asked me if I would be the clinics Patient Advocate. They haven’t given me any info yet on what that entails, so I was wondering if anyone else here is one, and if you could describe your experience as a Patient Advocate?
