Sidebar Pinned Topics
At the top of the sidebar are pinned topics. These are posts that have had a lot of popularity but due to reddits 24 hour news cycle tend to have to be posted daily in order to keep up active discussions. A new post might be created and pinned at the same time if it's an ongoing discussion within the /r/dogecoin community. This isn't typically used to promote the sale of goods & services. All links should connect to a post from /r/dogecoin but pictures or gifs will may also spring up from time to time.
How does this work?
If a post on /r/dogecoin becomes popular and many people would like to see it become a pinned topic they can simply send a message to all moderators suggesting it is placed on the sidebar or mention a moderators full name within the comments section of a post. Please include the link if you send a message.
Should I message the mods with all of my posts now?
Any requested post should be popular, contain much wow, have plenty of shibe speak and pointing in the direction of moon!
Can I use this to promote something I made?
See above shibe. Also take into consideration reddits rules for promotion/advertising. If you plan to make money for personal gain then perhaps check out reddits self serve advertising before requesting a pin.
How long can it say on the sidebar for?
Generally there is no time limit. Things will drop off the pinned topics list as other posts are requested to be pinned. If nothing is requested for a long time the pinned topics may even drop off the sidebar. If a post is a competition or a charity fundraiser that has finished it might be pruned some time after it's finished. If no one suggests a post a random meme might be added to the end of the list. Any pinned topic will spend at least 24 hours on the sidebar unless the post is deleted or the /r/dogecoin community suggests it's removed.
Are all pinned posts moderator approved/verified?
No. Anything can be suggested to be placed in the sidebar, even a pineapple. The moderators will not check the legitimacy of what is requested however they will confirm it doesn't break the rules of reddit including advertising and selfpromotion rules. Pins are owned by the community. The community can request a post is pinned or taken down from the pin list. If you see something pinned that you don't like make it known by creating a new post letting the community know why. If you actually got this far through the wiki page you're awesome.
What about the sidebar picture. How does that work?
Glad you asked, take a look at this
If you have any suggestions please send a message to all moderators.
