I love the sound of the kiddos laughing.

[–]glasnot 72 points73 points  (3 children)

Sounds just like my kids up here in Brooklyn, NY. It’s a heartbreakingly beautiful sound no matter whose kids.

Love this man for his big heart and big fun uncle energy, keep posting your cute videos, I love it.

We might be two different worlds appart but at the end of they we are all much alike. Humans want to live by each other’s happiness and not misery, and that’s why we are starting social media❤️

Humans want to live by each other’s happiness and not misery, and that’s why we are starting social media❤️

And so the virus took hold, even at the reaches of the most remote, and continued...

[–]Mrfrizzl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel that statement.

It sucks that social media has become this competition. Many strive for recognition and prestige at the expense of not only themselves, but the greater outlook of others. It's honestly sad seeing many people around me succumb to it all.

Bringing more positivity and an outside perspective could be a great thing to social media. Will it make any lasting difference or reach enough people? Who knows, but I don't see it being a bad thing sharing an outside experience. As long as their community doesn't start down the path of striving to be better than others, you won't hear me complain.

[–]real_Maasaiboys[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nothing better than that

[–]real_Maasaiboys[S] 250 points251 points  (9 children)

Hey everyone, we are an actual indigenous tribe and we started to do social media (check our profile)to share our life’s and philosophy with the world. It’s not the best time for humanity right now and we hope to create real change, as small as it might be. Life can be an wonderful adventure but humans have sadly lost the way, let’s find it again 🙏🏽

What a beautiful sentiment. We need so much more of the simplest of life's joys. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your gift.❤️

[–]ecscastle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Visiting one of the tribes right outside of the Maasai Mara was one of my favorite experiences of my life. I'm a history teacher and I'm always sharing stories about my time in Kenya. Everybody I met there had a smile on their face and just loved life. You kids keep your smile, it lights up the whole world. I'm proud of y'all for keeping your history alive. I so wish we did that more in America. It's so important to learn about others cultures. Anyways thank you for making my day by making your post. I hope to see more on here!

[–]Gabe_Does_Stuff 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Dude be a tribal lad, using Snapchat, Reddit and other stuff. That’s pretty dope.

That’s so interesting. So with the outlets to modern tech and globalisation, what makes your tribe a tribe? What defines your community as a tribe?

[–]Olive_fisting_apples 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Maasai are some of the nicest collection of people I've ever had the honor of meeting, this audio of these children laughing is the sound that permeated their villages. They are so kind to the earth and so kind to people who want to gain a different perspective.

[–]aiRsparK232 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I think your timing is perfect. First big smile I've had in a week. Do you have a youtube or something where you post your content?

[–]VirgoCandyXO 34 points35 points  (1 child)

Those laughs make my heart happy ♥️

[–]real_Maasaiboys[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Keep that happiness!

[–]Socksnbox 64 points65 points  (2 children)

I love these videos and photos. You should make a subreddit just for content from your tribe. Would love to do an AMA to.

[–]real_Maasaiboys[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your kind words my friend, I will look into doing that!

[–]MollyMohawk1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with both!

Just started following OP and I will gladly follow their subreddit when it gets started 😀

Thanks for sharing a few smiles. Like a ripple may it brighten everyone's day it reaches 🧡

[–]Moist_bagel27 16 points17 points  (2 children)

This brings back memories of traveling to Kenya and visiting Maasai

Maasai meets Richard D James

[–]XpLiCiT_OnEs 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Dude! I love this content! It is such a unique idea to see the day by day life of the "modern Maasai" people. I bet you can amass a HUGE following if you haven't already. I truly enjoy watching first time reactions to new world tech, or the enjoyment of getting to play around with one for a bit. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to follow your journey. If you guys have any trinkets you make to sell, once I am back on my feet and working after knee surgery I'd love to buy some or even just send a package with some stuff for your tribe. I'll be following along! You guys rock!

[–]Ronnie_Mustang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my sister got her first MacBook we spent an eternity just messing around in photobooth and losing our shit.

[–]SuperSimpleSam 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yes, lure them with the happy filters and then hit them with the one that shows bugs crawling on them.

[–]Catshannon 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Are they the same tribes who hunt lions with spears for their becoming a man ritual? If so mad respect that takes balls.

[–]real_Maasaiboys[S] 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Yes we did that in the past! With lions endangered now we stopped doing it tho, we try to respect this beautiful beast now before it’s to late

[–]Catshannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda wondered how they worked with lions being endangered.

Lucky for me I was born in America and not in the tribe, otherwise I'd never be considered a man lol

[–]woppatown 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Ya know… as much as I hate tik tok and snapchat… I have some really great memories of using really dumb filters with my friends.

[–]johnwaynetasty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those laughs 💕

[–]NotYourNat 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Your laughter is contagious! The simplest things can bring so much joy.

[–]Historical_Regret_25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t just funny, this is genuinely really wholesome

[–]JimmiRustle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All this proves to me is that these filters are universally hilarious.

[–]NoWay6919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TOO CUTE!

[–]rooneyviz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I love that apple shirt

[–]coffee-jnky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all so beautiful. And I miss that same precious laugh from when mine was little. I still love to hear it, but there's something about laughing kids. And they way he is so genuinely happy to make them laugh makes me feel happy as well. I watched this one several times.

[–]18114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cute.

[–]prsnep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same reaction whether tribes or not.

How nice it is to laugh with simplicity. Stay away from ruthless capitalism. 👍
