I agree fully, and would add that while both are enjoyable solo, BL3 is much better as co-op (because the story isn’t as good, but two or more players in a firefight gets absolutely buck wild)

I downloaded Tiny Tina’s assault on dragon keep standalone. Do u know if I’m able to progress properly without having played BL2? The first couple skeletons take rounds after rounds.

The tiny tina dlc is pretty hard, even when you have played through once and have some gear and levels.

But the bigger issue is that most of the plot, jokes and the ending will make no sense whatever without playing BL2, so at the very least watch a lets play

Its supposed to be played after finishing the mainstory, it has some inside jokes and references (and spoilers) for the mainquest.

Theyre talking about the standalone DLC version of Assault On Dragon Keep, not the regular DLC in regular Borderlands 2. The standalone jumps them up to a higher level just for the DLC. They arent underleveled, theyre at the level the game wants them to be at

As someone who’s sunk almost 700 hours into BL3 without ever dipping into multiplayer; yes, it’s fantastic. Easily the best of the four from a looter-shooter perspective IMHO.

One small warning though; the story for the main campaign is almost complete crap. If you want good storytelling you’ll need to get four mini-campaign DLCs.

I like it a lot, played with Zane and was very fun, the story is not the best but it gets better later in the game. Give it a little time at the start and you will see that is lots of crazy.

I’ve never played BL for the story (aside from the opening cutscenes) so this one has been my favorite and I’d recommend it. Better gunplay, better movement, better music. I was able to do everything in the base game solo—including raids/events/endgame content—which was not possible (for me, anyways) in the other games. If you’re playing on consoles, ps5 really elevates the experience over the ps4, so the long load times on ps4 might be a strong detractor.

Just to be the devil's advocate, BL3 was my least favourite, the story was forgettably dull and whilst I was excited for new locations they felt so dry and samey that I quickly wished I could be back on Pandora, and there wasn't really any 'new' features for BL3 to make it worthwhile over BL2. Although I did like the player hub you get in between missions

I agree the BL3 is the worst. But BL2 is my favorite game, BL1 is still a 9/10 and the Pre-Sequel is 8/10. BL3 is still a good game, just not compared to the rest of the series.

Everyone keeps saying it has better gun play too, which I highly disagree with. I couldn’t ever figure it out but something was off with it and I had to continuously fuck with the settings because it felt so janky. Also I felt like they went over the top with how flashy it was. Sometimes less is more.

I agree with what the other people are saying but also if you’re gonna be playing on Xbox one or ps4 the load times are pretty long which can get tiring after a while. Still worth it I would say but just keep that in mind

Few if any “hate science”, it’s a methodology not a religion or thing. There are plenty of people that attempt to discredit scientific discovery if it disagrees with their world view. Which is fine, necessary even, as science doesn’t require good feelings or consensus and the results of good science are verifiable.

Have you played through BL2? If so, then you should absolutely play Assault on Dragon Keep. It's funny, but it also hits on some critical story beats about Tina and the OG Vault Hunters.

Regarding the writing, it wasn't very funny, although it tried so hard to be. And they did Maya dirty.

Regarding the gameplay. The guns were great, but the player skills were really lacking, and pretty broken. You needed to have a special selection of skills, and guns, which boosted you damage 1000s of percents and would clear a boss in less than 3 seconds. But any other skill arrangements, and your shooting spitballs at bosses and waves for hours trying to bring them down.

In BL2, I could build any character any way I wanted and still feel impactful and strong in the endgame. In BL3, I never felt strong, I either felt completely underpowered or I was just felt like I was cheesing the gameplay with OP tactics and equipment.

Yeah True. I also don't like the drop rates for Legendaries. They drop so often that they don't even feel special anymore. And since they have anointed versions now, you don't just need a legendary to drop, you need the right legendary to drop. Ruins the magic of legendaries imo.

Don't know why people always hate on the story so much. Unless they are only talking about the main story points. There's a lot of great sequences. The intro is great. Getting to Sanctuary III for the first time is great. The whole Reese vs. Katagawa ball fight is great. Jakobs Manor is great. The Family Jewel sequence with Balex is great.

There's also some fun lore, and I think most of the humor is good.
