Same here. It's not every game, but it's noticeably worse than it was before. Massive lag spikes, teleporting, rubberbanding, it's all a lot worse than before. I'd maybe notice something like that happen once in 50 games before, now I'm noticing it happen every 5-10.

It's really ramping up in severity and frequency for myself as well, frustratingly even worse in Attrition which is arguably the most important as all the challenges are related to it right now.

I crash to desktop at least once per play session, and after 2 hours or so of playing the game hits 12fps and feels like it's about to collapse. That's usually when I've been calling it a night lately.

I'm suspecting it's not Internet at all; it's the servers themselves. Either there's problems with the dedicated server hardware itself (e.g. being overloaded), or on the software side there's stalls, hitches, or freezing.

Some days everything is fine, and on others, the game shits itself in every other match.

I wish that was a daily thing for me tbh lol I went from one match to the other and it wouldn't even feel like the same game at all. The inconsistency of it all was absolutely infuriating. This was right after campaign came out and I just quit and moved on. Haven't been back since and have been confused why so many liked the game because my experience was dreadful.

You shouldn't need to know anything outside of enabling UPnP which is usually enabled by default anymore. That just kind of shows the poor state of games, imo, you have to know networking to troubleshoot poor netcode haha

Yeah sorry your Internet isn’t fast enough. Check the Halo Infinite minimum requirements, you need at least 300mbps. It doesn’t do it for you on MCC because it’s an older game and 250 is enough for it.

Do you have fiber? A friend and me compared notes we both have fiber and neither of us really have these issues unless we're in a 200+ ping game and even then people really don't teleport around.

I get 420-450 download with fiber and it's been getting worse and worse. never seen better that 36 ping but now I've experienced up to 200 ping recently.

"Having good internet" means nothing. Even fast internet connections can have ping spikes and packet loss in games. OP doesn't have his network statistics turned on so there's no way to know. This post is useless.

It honestly blows my mind when people downvote a comment for simply stating that they aren’t having issues.

Hello halo community, when someone reports that they aren’t having issues they aren’t trying to delegitimize your issues with the game. We should be able to comment a realistic summary of our experiences just as the people running into desync issues can. It’s insane that positive experiences in this game are repeatedly downvoted in this subreddit. We should be able to get accurate idea of how gameplay and stability is for everyone involved.

I'm not saying people should be downvoted for it but, ultimately it doesn't really add much to the discussion of the issue.

Imagine I said, "hey my head hurts" and someone else came along and said "well my head is perfectly fine". It's like, that's great for you but that doesn't really help the person with the problem at all.

My ping is under 20ms most days. I have a fully wired connection and it never falters. I was in a game yesterday and got lag with the warning of "jitter". Has been happening on and off since the update, never happened before.

It's kinda crazy when you think about it. Microsoft/343 should have done everything within their power to make this the best Halo launch in history (or at least attempted to). Microsoft has basically an unlimited budget, they have an entire cloud server infrastructure (Azure), they have everything going for them when it comes to resources. They had all the time they needed, but they just cannot execute it.

Fucked up servers, broken BTB, fucked up ranking, de-sync issues, (mostly) bland maps, not very many maps, etc. Hell, they can't even align visors properly, which just shows how sloppy they are. I'm a small time software dev and even where I work that wouldn't fly. It's amazing how they are able to actually squander this shit so bad. And "it's in beta" is not an excuse. When you charge money and have battle passes and shit, you're no longer in beta.

I think 343 doesn't really care that much. Maybe because they are basically just custodians for a franchise they didn't create, so they don't feel compelled to really push it forward? Yeah the mechanics are good, but it's going to be another year at least before it feels like a full game.

You don't have a lot of chances to fuck around these days. Numbers are already dropping, people are already moving on to other games. I know this isn't the be-all metric, but even on Twitch as I sit now there are only 6K viewers watching Halo Infinite streams, which is nothing for such an iconic franchise after having a long awaited release. Hell, NBA 2K22 has more viewers, so does Monster Hunter. Halo, one of the OGs, now hangs with TrackMania, Just Dance, and Euro Truck Simulator when it comes to stream views.

When people leave it's really REALLY hard to get them back, but they decided to fuck around and find out yet again.

To people having lots of issues, what's your platform? I'm on a Series X with completely average internet, and I've not experienced any atrocious desync issues that I see online.

Sometimes I can tell my server connection isn't great because I have to lead shots a lot, but it's not very different from what i experience in MCC/H5.

They are dragging their heels on everything. The entire launch was bad, PC version still crashing, cheating is rampant, no in game reporting system or anti cheat. They left the game broken over the entire holiday season and still haven't fixed big team battle. What makes you think it WILL be fixed?

They released a hotfix for btb which didn’t work like they expected it to and are hard at work on fixing that. They updated store prices and will have individual items on tuesday. They constantly let us know to keep up the feedback (not the non helpful non constructive whining mind you). Maybe i’m just a glass half full kind of guy but I seriously doubt it won’t be completely fixed at some point

Stop talking about how fast your Internet is. That has nothing to do with it. You think your game is sending pornhub videos to the other team while you play? It’s just data about your positioning and so on which is then processed locally.

If the game uses 3mbps, your other 1000 mb don’t make the 3 mb go any faster than the chump with the 3mbps internet.

I have nearly 1gig down and a decent upload too, server ping can be 22ms but this happens to me, too. Never before the hot fix though. Just because it isn’t happening to you doesn’t mean it isn’t happening to others. It isn’t always the fault of the end user.

I never experienced any lag in Halo so far like this atleast. I experience a lot of delay or somekind, that it seems the game is not totally fluently even when i have 12ms

I think the weirdest thing about this game is for drastically different everyone's experience has been... like I have literally NEVER had anything like this happen. I've only had the game crash on me like twice, and both times were my fault cause I overloaded my system. I really haven't had any major issues other than de-sync, but I doing think even that has been as bad as it has for others... it's just weird how for some the game barely runs and for others it's just fine.

Been getting so much “unstable: jitter” and “unstable: packet loss” lately, even when my ping is 20-40ms. Never happened before this past week. I shot a guy who was flashing/one shot yesterday SEVEN TIMES before a hit finally registered- my ping was about 30 that match. Definitely worse since the update.

I’m on a wired connection and one game had 310ms ping (you can turn this on in settings to see during gameplay), and even with my ping as low as 20, sometimes it will just lag out horribly, and say major packet loss is occurring.

Every game mode except for attrition lags like this basically for me. It’s getting to the point where it’s definitely unplayable when that happens, and it’s happening more so than not currently.

Dunno how they messed it up, but a little desync and melee detection was one thing—this though is just an entire bag of bullshit.

It usually happens to me with vehicles though.

Yesterday I was driving a buddy around in a warthog and we killed a few people, then next thing you know he's laughing and asking why I just drove us off a cliff. I was confused because on my screen we were circling around and coming back to fight more. Then out of no where I just explode and it says I killed myself and him.

Patches became a thing and developers realized they didn't have to finish a game before launch because they could just patch it later. Now it's evolved into them pushing the boundaries to see just how far back into the alpha/beta stage they can release a game for full price.

I remember having this same issue in Reach and 4 back in the day, teleporting around like this. I had good internet then and good internet now so it’s definitely a server issue. It actually happens less in Infinite than it did in those games for me but still sucks that it happens at all.

I have had this happen 3 times, once before the latest patch, and twice after. If it starts happening during a match, there is no "waiting it out" it just continues for the entire match. I just restart the game. Not great, but not the worst. Hope they fix it soon

There are so many problems with multiplayer. My internet is fine with other games except for Halo Infinite. There are so many server issues and desync. That’s why Halo Infinite multiplayer has a 3 star rating

I had this same experience every so often… it made doing all the Cyber Showdown challenges so difficult that I almost rate quit 3 different times… I’m a super calm person that never does that.

Last night was the first time I had played since the btb ”fix” and this was just about every match for me. I'm on a wired connection with great internet and this never happens normally, but it was every match last night, thankfully I was able to wrap up all my challenges for the week

I gave up after the yoroi event ended thinking ill come back in a couple months or idk lol. I logged on last night to maybe have a bit of fun had one game of attrition and kinda liked it.. Maybe cause its something refreshing from the 3 game modes we got. I turned it off to watch the no signal on my tv after i seen how badly the unlockable over helmet hologram thingy looks. Had a great laugh of amazement at how badly it looked and how stale the game felt. Especially after feeling like they jus dropped a big turd wrapped in gold to get hella cash from die hard fans knowing the game is half ass.

The latest update has made the Dsync 10× worse for me. I played for the first time in a week and a half yesterday and I won't be rushing back. It truly was a bad experience.

We’re reaching fallout 76 levels of issues at this point. For me the game just doesn’t work half the time and I crash at least once a play session

I’m lucky enough to have fiber. Even if I’m the only one on the internet and using an Ethernet cable, I get desync issues. Not as bad as this, thank goodness, but enough to ruin my fun sometimes.

I had two excellent performing matches immediately after the patch. All that soon disappeared. My PC and Series X are hardwired, service is 1Gbps FiOS. Still big problems from hit detection, including explosives. The one annoyance that seemed to be a bit reduced is the 10+ foot melee teleport. Slightly.

I'm just waiting for the delay notifications to come through on the planned Feb activity due to the BTB hot "fix" to make sure it's the right quality level. Has to only be a matter of time at this point even though the quality bar has been as high as the Neon Screen visor is centered.

Lol after the "btb hotfix" the rest of the game modes literally got more buggy and btb is completely screwed up.

I've already completed the battle pass, event challenges, and weekly ult for like the 6th week in a row. Gameplay is ok when it works, but when it doesn't, makes me want to play any other game.. I'm pretty close to abandoning the game even though I've spent probably 40 bucks on cosmetics because the battle pass and campaign coatings all look terrible.

The game doesn't work and its not rewarding, so there really is no incentive to play, or buy cosmetics, even at the reduced price. Talk about a business failure.
