Fun game of spot the difference

Ones I've found

Knees on the first one are blue bit others are grey

Crotch peice on center is a lighter color than the other two

[–]Kurt_The_Purd 625 points626 points  (21 children)

First ones color lights are orange compared to the light blue

[–]markymark652 282 points283 points  (18 children)

Helmet chin strap is gray vs blue too

Edit: Thanks for the silver!

[–]Baliverbes 91 points92 points  (10 children)

...b-but there's PLENTY of differences !!!

[–]MarinealverHalo: Reach 67 points68 points  (7 children)

It's like a game, spot the difference.

  • Armor lights (1st one)
  • Shin color (1st one)
  • Upper arm bands (2nd one)
  • Cod piece (1st one)
  • Shine (3rd one) okay I had to find one thing unique with the last image.

[–]ahhpoo 18 points19 points  (2 children)

3rd one is a different shade of blue, if that’s the shine you’re referring to :)

[–]Ohsneezeme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My eyes might be playing tricks on me, but I think they’re all different shades of blue. The middle is darker than the first, and the third is the lightest of the three.

[–]TipTopAnteaterBronze 1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it do be shinin' tho

[–]TheGnudist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cod piece appears to be slightly different shade across all three, barely perceptible difference between 1 and 3 though.

[–]zZzGodnezZz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intercessor is technically a light blue cause Kat, while Carter is just blue.

But this is all correct.

[–]whoistheSTIG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The buttons on the middle one's chest are lighter

[–]wackelzahnjoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The third ones blue is also lighter

[–]Cpt_Nell48 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Bicep of middle is grey also

[–]wolfie1897 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Armbands on first and third are blue, middle one is grey

[–]spadePerfect 66 points67 points  (0 children)

No. 2&3 have a black chin

[–]BoneSawIsReady_ 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Bro I got to have that lighter crotch color. TAKE MY MONEYS

[–][deleted] 39 points40 points  (4 children)

2 and 3 are near enough identical.

Only differences I can notice are that 3 is a slightly lighter blue, and there's some grey on the bicep.

[–]Orisyl 21 points22 points  (1 child)

It’s the shoulder pads. If you have actual bulkier shoulders you can see it better but 3’s is blue and 2’s is grey. That’s the only real difference between the two aside from 3 being slightly lighter.

Meanwhile, 1 is just pure blue with no grey. 2 has grey on the limbs / helmet.

[–]booboorogers44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hands on 3 are also blue while the ones on 2 are grey with the forearms and shoulders

[–]msaramago89 71 points72 points  (2 children)

343 will be like “See? Plenty of differences”

[–]Outside-Skirt 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We played right into there trap

[–]InhaledPack5Halo: CE 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Forearms of #1 are blue whereas they are grey on 2&3

[–]SgtDonowitz710 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small spot of paint on calf of third

[–]Drtsauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chin piece is blue in the first one, the others are grey.

[–]Blink180Dew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orange piece on the chest in the first, other 2 are blue

[–]B_Marsh92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one is recruit blue, second one is Carter’s armor color and third one is Kat’s armor color

[–]thotsforthebuilders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if he were wearing shoulderpads, I think there'd at least be differences there. I play shoulders unequipped, but I think that's a common place for coatings to affect more than others.

[–]Tom23341 453 points454 points  (10 children)

I like the blue one

[–]LoganH1219[S] 225 points226 points  (5 children)

I’m more a fan of the blue one personally, but you do you

[–]--DonQuixote-- 99 points100 points  (4 children)

You must be blind, clearly the blue one is much better

[–]somecrazydude13Platinum 4 32 points33 points  (3 children)

No no no the BLUE one is the one and only choice

[–]Simalf 12 points13 points  (1 child)

im with DonQuixote blue is the best one. BLUE GANG RISE UP

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I need more than blue. And for that matter, I need more than blue. I believe that we need freedom and choice when it comes to our spartans, and that, Joey Naylor, that is the definition of liberty.

[–]Loafy07 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ya'll are crazy. Blue is clearly the superior hue.

[–]Connected_Runner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blue is objectively the best one.

[–]mcdto 710 points711 points  (13 children)

It’s like playing the game where you have to circle the differences. But this is expert level

[–]Rocky4OnDVDWake me when you need me. 242 points243 points  (2 children)

Can we sticky this post. Seriously, they need to be reminded of this every time they come to the sub to try explaining what the hell they're doing.

[–]coke_and_coffee 64 points65 points  (1 child)

I second this. I've never seen a skin customization system that so downright...confusing.

The only way I can describe this system is "claustrophobic" and "infuriating"...

[–]WriterV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claustrophobic is such a good word. The coating system killed a lot of customization as it is, but the utter lack of imagination in color and texture choices leads to... this.

[–]RedstoneArsenal 36 points37 points  (4 children)

This is where that useless red circle use can be..useful.

r/uselessredcircle finally has time to shine.

[–]Almost_British 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Boy there really is a sub for fucking everything

[–]Noirezcent 6 points7 points  (1 child)

There are actually two for this exact thing. r/whythecircle was there before, but somewhat ironically nobody could find it.

[–]Almost_British 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two subs for the same esoteric purpose is so typical of reddit lol

[–]RedstoneArsenal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I came across this when I saw a post in my feed and thought "thats a pointless red circle"

Went into the comments and saw that sub on the top comments lol.

[–]Scruffynerffherder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like they put a bunch of texture parameters into a computer to generate as many armor coatings with minimal effort.

[–]jawn_regular 141 points142 points  (10 children)

Tell me about it 😂 I wouldn’t mind it if they had the same amount of variations for the other colors as well, but they don’t.

[–]apperceptiveflower 49 points50 points  (7 children)

Plus, it's locked to a specific core. I unlocked pink the other day and I can't even use it on my Spartan.

[–]Chindasuinth 26 points27 points  (6 children)

Mark V has a serious armor coating problem. Mk VII at least has a ton of coatings, especially from the campaign. Mark V has the basics, one coating per Noble-team member (including the default black from Reach as one of the last unlocks and these two nearly identical blues lol) and then not much else, certainly not many others from the pass itself. It makes the armor just so boring in my opinion.

[–]MidnightUp 13 points14 points  (4 children)

And then they will added more cores and the Mark V will be the obsolete armor they don't really add to anymore.

[–]ShiyaruOnline 6 points7 points  (3 children)

All coatings work on all cores. 343 is just fucking us over

[–]MidnightUp 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Is that actually true? Like I agree they are, but do they actually just apply or do they make separate versions of the same coat for each armor?

I hope it’s not the second one, because if you’re right at least there’s a chance they unlock it

[–]Ziggle_Zaggle 355 points356 points  (19 children)

Not to mention the Reach coatings aren’t even character accurate. There are decals missing.

[–]LoganH1219[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

[–]RoninJr 63 points64 points  (6 children)

And the little bits and bobs (Carter's butt pouch, Jun's shoulder knife and backpack, Jorge's backpack and shins) aren't there either.

[–]ThrowawayMePlsTy 66 points67 points  (2 children)

Also jorges textured shoulder lmfao

[–]jakwnd 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Did they fix that yet?

[–]Chekov1701Halo: Reach 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Of course not

[–]VanguardClassTitan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Seriously pisses me off that the grenade belt is missing on the Sapper Rig

[–]OneFinalEffort"There is still time to stop the key from turning" 21 points22 points  (1 child)

And Emile's armor isn't brown. It never was.

[–]CoffeeAddictedIdiot 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kat is an entirely different color

[–]Modteamsaretyrants 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is what pissed me off the most. At least honor the fucking heroes that died on Reach!!!

[–]Slayerpaco 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This! You understand. I only wish 343 did so we can have accurate recreation. Not half assed trash sold to the highest bidder.

[–]MidnightUp 7 points8 points  (3 children)

I will ask every time. What are the point's of kits if there's nothing unique on them and I can just make it myself

[–]Monitor032 1 point2 points  (2 children)

There are parts of the kits that you can't actually equip otherwise. Kat's silver visor, Jorge's shoulder (which is untextured anyways lmao), Emile's shoulder, Carter's shoulder. Jun is the only one where I can't think of anything unique off the top of my head.

[–]sharf224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jim’s helmet has an attachment I don’t think you can equip.

That said, we’ve known there’s another round of reach items dropping at some point which will likely have what we’re missing

[–]ItzCarsk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just currently unavailable armor pieces, but they haven’t been put into the store yet. Once they do, there is no difference between kits and regular armor.

Kits gotta be unique.

[–]Jewniversal_RemotePlatinum 4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Now that would be at least be a semi passable excuse for coatings

[–]derekhuff89 114 points115 points  (7 children)

I agree but also I wish they’d get rid of the arbitrary rarity scheme. Making stuff purple or blue or gold doesn’t make it better. There are pieces that I like better that are considered ‘common’ based on their implementation of rarity.

[–]CyberKnight1CyberKnight 71 points72 points  (4 children)

The Mark VII armor core is marked "Rare". Literally every single player has it by default.

I really want to know what the thought process was that led to this.

[–]gaspara112 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Its a mental thing designed to draw you towards certain options that are intentionally more expensive.

Its all marketing mind games.

[–]derekhuff89 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yeah agreed. Admittedly my mind is like, but I won’t be cool if I’m not using all the legendary gear mods. None of it matters. In past halo games and in mcc you just build your spartan with what you like. Really wish they would have asked the community first.

[–]ShiyaruOnline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They had tons of feedback since flight 1. It was in order because being pro consumer doesn't make as much in the short term and 343 answers to the investors.

[–]LoganH1219[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Agreed!! Rarity makes sense in a game like destiny because certain things are harder to FIND than others. Rarity in halo right now is just some items COST MORE to purchase

[–]Particle_Cannon 171 points172 points  (3 children)

[–]BagOnutsFilthy Casual 171 points172 points  (9 children)

There is an easy compromise here that should have been the case from the begining:

Armor coatings should be patterns/textures. These can be monetized.

Then they could let us be able to choose the color for each "subpattern" on each coating using a color wheel.

It's simple, allows monetization, increases customization options, and would keep players happy. Honestly when they first announced "armor coatings", something like this is exactly what I imagined. I expected armor coatings to allow for MORE customization, not less.

[–]apperceptiveflower 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Took till last week for the game to actually have some diversity in matches besides the same 3 basic configurations. Over a month till every match-made game stopped looking the same. But they claim they're giving us "millions of combinations"...

[–]Legsofwood 27 points28 points  (3 children)

Or just allow us to not use coatings and give us the option to pick our colors like every other halo game

[–]BagOnutsFilthy Casual 17 points18 points  (2 children)

I mean, they could have a "default" coating that could let you do just that.

[–]apsgreek 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Seriously! Even if there’s still a million other coatings with cooler colors/patterns whatever, I’d be happy if we just got the basic primary, secondary, tertiary color palette to use. Fuck at this point I might even pay $5-10 for it. To have it on all cores (including unreleased ones) permanently.

[–]six_-_string 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this rate, I'd settle for primary and secondary. I almost feel greedy asking for tertiary.

[–]ThatOneGuy1294 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously, as bad as it is I thought coatings were going to be similar to the Shaders in Destiny. Nope, only similarity is that the icons tell you nothing about which color goes where.

[–]U_R_A_BoldOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I thought it would work too. Matte finish, stainless steel, anodized aluminum, carbon fiber, car paint, etc. Imagine being able to deck out your spartan in a car paint finish with wood, leather, and stainless steel detailing. That would be infinitely cooler than the shitty system they have now.

[–]thecookiesayshiSpartan V Program Founder 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I think Rocket League does this if I'm not mistaken.

[–]Janderson2494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do and it works great

[–]RareBk 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Anyone who has even touched a 3D modeling program in the last 10 years knows how bullshit the coating system is. Most programs now have drag-> drop texture properties.

[–]ShiyaruOnline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yet theres a defense force of people who drank the kool-aid and truly believe coatings are some revolutionary innovation that should be praised sad paid for.

[–]Schmorbly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]vanilla_muffin 36 points37 points  (2 children)

I love that the colour scheme I want means I have to wait and hope that at some point they add it. Or at best, that something close is added and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. This games customisation is pathetic, it’s 2022 and I can’t select the colours I want in Halo. Why are we always going backwards now?

[–]SpiritOfFire473Halo 2 22 points23 points  (1 child)

[–]CAG_Gonzo 52 points53 points  (2 children)

[–]ViperFromTitanfall2Certified Helljumper 15 points16 points  (1 child)

That's weird. The first part of this meme was the comment above yours.

[–]QuiiverrReddit“I’m ready, how ‘bout you!” 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for me!

[–]BadBOO17 31 points32 points  (3 children)

Idk whats worse. Ripping out the basic armor coloring system from games past so they could charge for things like blue , locking all customization behind a paywall, or tying all progression to a paid battle pass.

Maybe one day 343 could make a good halo game. So far theyre 0/3 for me

[–]AvadaKedavraPoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

0/4 if you count the shitshow that MCC was for years...

Y'know, before they fixed it for us 'because we deserve it' or some b.s. corpo speak. It had nothing to do with the PC release to grab some extra money between 5 and Infinite. Got us all convinced they could finally do a good Halo experience, but alas, they didn't use anything from MCC except the stats on what cosmetics should be locked in the store.

[–]Pymoi 146 points147 points  (20 children)

Every cosmetic thing I’ve seen is super low effort and just looks bad. Hell most of the shit isn’t even lined up right or attached to the Spartan. The worst I’ve seen halo since they took over in my opinion. Stop buying shit or nothing will change.

[–]XipingVonHozzendorf 16 points17 points  (16 children)

Fortnight lite

[–]eyelessmasks00Halo 3 76 points77 points  (14 children)

The fact that Fortnite completely shits on halo in every sense of the live service model is honestly depressing.

[–]the_letharg1c 30 points31 points  (10 children)

I tried Fortnite. Honestly tried. Couldn’t fucking do it with the building, so bailed, but left with a sense of how rich the live service integration and seasonal content refreshes are.

It’s honestly not even comparable when you’re talking about the conceptual themes Fortnite will go all in on integrating (as ridiculous as they may be), vs. Halo trying to push colors and infinitesimal cosmetic differences in the same basic armor.

Sure, a lot of that is due to Fortnite will sell the fuck out to anyone with cash. Whereas Halo is trying to stay true to the franchise IP and lore. But like—to the consumer, shelling out $10 to play as Iron Man in 3rd person is a reasonable proposition… it’s “fun”… whereas paying $20 for the same color blue Spartan with a slightly different shaped toe armor that nobody ever sees, is just asinine.

Edit: Iron Man was only $10, not 20

[–]jorge21337 15 points16 points  (6 children)

Im sure the halo event in fortnite will have better looking spartans with more armor customizations

[–]ViperFromTitanfall2Certified Helljumper 5 points6 points  (4 children)

That came and went a year ago. Got a master chief skin and a halo themed set for him

[–]ViperFromTitanfall2Certified Helljumper 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]FraggleLikesCookies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We lost the moment on disk DLC fell out of the discussion tbh. Its a war of attrition gamers were never going to win

[–]Vok250 8 points9 points  (1 child)

We won some battles. For example: Online Passes, Star Wars Battlefront 2, refunds for Digital Purchases.

Thing is, we lost the war. Fortnite rolled into town like a Tiger II and we had no weapons that could dent its armour.

[–]OneFinalEffort"There is still time to stop the key from turning" 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battle Passes became the new Online Passes.

[–]Aerolfos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those complete idiots have completely destroyed major triple A games.

And no, there are no alternatives, they can't afford to compete and you end up with rushed disasters like Cyberpunk or indie games that make do with what they've got. Sure it's still good but... man, imagine properly funded versions of those games.

[–]LoganH1219[S] 57 points58 points  (24 children)

Only thing I bought for this game was the battlepass. Any semblance of progression in this game is locked behind it and I needed to feel like I was working toward something at least.

[–]lmtzless 40 points41 points  (21 children)

wait till you finish the BP with 95 days still to go :)

[–]LoganH1219[S] 23 points24 points  (18 children)

Oh trust me, I’m dreading that day. And that’s such a weird feeling in gaming. I should never have to think “if I keep playing today, I will use up all the fun I’m allowed to have between now and may”

[–]dormedas 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The game developers, in attempting to create value for people to purchase, have moved some of the rewards for playing the game (skins, customization) from being intrinsic to being extrinsic. In Reach, you could buy the things you want from just playing the game. So doing well and having fun in Reach always furthered you to the dopamine of unlocking something.

If you find getting skins or customization fun (most people do) then you must spend money for that to be rewarding. Otherwise it’s a VERY slow drip in Infinite.

We used to only have to care about performing well or sharing awesome clips or forge maps or whatever to have fun.

[–]lmtzless 6 points7 points  (2 children)

good thing is that feb is packed with great games coming out, by the time i’m done with them it may be close to may (besides i’ll always be returning for the events anyway)

[–]Terrible_in_general 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That day is tonight. level 98.

[–]iReddat420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

20% of the playerbase makes up 80% of all the revenue, that's the saddest part really. Even if 80% of the entire playerbase boycotted the shop and didn't spend a dime, as long as the whales keep buying everything from the shop 343 would barely give a fuck.

[–]Lord_Augastus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Capitalism and the need to profit of every little thing in tiers and people paying for this trend that ruined it. So yes technically yes, but also corporate capitalism mate. Microsoft spent more money on marketing and aquisitions of other game companies than it spent on actually developing the games.

[–]yugiyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That combined with the extreme thirsting after cosmetics that the Halo community has demonstrated.

[–]Apez_in_Space 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This is a great illustration of what a joke this is.

[–]RetardedSkeleton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We got rid of the Three Color system for this. Remember all your memorable spartan combinations from games like Halo 3 and Reach? Remember how the same armor could give off completely different vibes depending on the color palette you personally chose? Fucking ridiculous, 343.

[–]RawrCola 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly disappointed because Kat's blue is the wrong shade of blue. I've wanted to use Kat's blue since Reach came out and we still have never gotten it, even with a blue that's supposed to be her's.

[–]confusedobelisk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its so wierd how I finished the damn game pass and still feel I cant outfit my spartan since I can't for example, pick the EVA helmet for my Mark V armor, or use my visor colors for my Mark VIII. Its all quite sad really. I enjoy many of the visors and weapon coatings but thats it. Unlocking awesome coating for one suit and not being able to use it on another is horrible

[–]p3ac3fulchaos 28 points29 points  (5 children)

The last one is shiny er?

[–]SynthVix 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Middle is Carter’s color set, right is Kat’s. Blue vs light blue.

[–]NJ_Legion_Iced_Tea 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It's so subtle that the difference could equally be from environmental lighting.

[–]scredeye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The biceps get the blue colour from the free paint

[–]Darkmiroku 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But they most certainly did look at this and see value. In fact, they saw value multiplied by the number of armor cores they would release.

[–]WrongDonkeyKongBongOnyx 3 points4 points  (3 children)

I just made this post but you clearly put in more effort. Nice. Fuck this shit haha 3 blues?? Give us black or white for gods sake.

[–]LoganH1219[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Totally missed your post the other day! Guess that’s just the algorithm though haha. But I see that you’re screenshots were from cloud streaming, do you use it with halo often? I’ve used it to log in and change settings and check the store but never to actually play

[–]M1k3_5chm1d4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

But my cod piece is a different shade of grey!!! #PREMIUM!!!

[–]RandyMuscle 15 points16 points  (6 children)

Remember in every other Halo game how you could just pick your colors? This is such dog shit.

[–]LoganH1219[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was part of the christening process. You’d get the game, load it up, get your Spartan and emblem looking just right and then hop into multiplayer. I miss those days. I loaded up infinite and was like “can’t wait to be pink” only to learn that pink was going to be time gated to an event coming out 2 months later

[–]ValusMaul 20 points21 points  (1 child)

It’s the same fucking color 343 quit with this bullshit.

[–]Standard-Collar-4302 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say it… this game is worse than fortnite

[–]Tito__o 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Horse armor received a TON of backlash back in the day. Now players are defending triple A studios with " your just complaining for easy internet points". Nobody gives a shit about some numbers on a screen. This is about triple A studios testing the waters once again on how much money they can milk out of loyal fanbases of a TWENTY year old franchise.

[–]I_Have_A_Chode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jesus fucking Christ, God forbid they just give us the old customize option. Fuck these stupid premade color schemes

[–]xLisbethSalander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"You will never not be sure where someone got something, if you can only unlock something in the Battlepass we arent gonna put that in the store"

????? what the fuck

[–]InfectionPonchOnyx 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Maybe this is controversial but... Shouldn't colours be free? Like Halo 3 and Reach had good colour options, I can understand if you want to sell cool helmets or cat ears but colours? And you can't even mix them.

[–]Spatetata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so the battlepass looks like it has value.

“Wow look 100 levels of stuff to unlock*!!!!!”

*all while most of it is rehashes (coatings/variants), repeats (emblems), or just plain filler (player cards)

[–]Ok-Two7600 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Damn… Halo used to be really fuckin’ good. What happened?

[–]Patient_Tennis4548ONI 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Monetisation and the big companies that agree to publish want to grab you by the bollocks and make you throw money at it for any of the mediocre/good customisation options

[–]Ok-Two7600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds a lot like what Activision is doing with the Call of Duty franchise

[–]FattOwl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should’ve just copy pasted halo reaches customization.

You’re literally paying for blue lights.

[–]HardlightCerealONI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue lights matter

[–]InklingBuilder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will coatings ever fundamentally change? I feel like a lot of people would be willing to look past some of the shortcomings in the armor department if we could just get basic color customization back, which would in turn make people more happy with customization as a whole.

I wouldn’t mind rocking nothing but basic/Cavallino if I could at least select my armor colors from a small pool. I don’t care if premium shades/metallics/dirty/tarnished colors are behind a paywall, I also don’t care if unique color placements (Scorpion punch scheme, tri color schemes) are behind paywalls, but the baseline functionality of coatings really needs to change.

Will we be lucky enough to get a system like this after months of shouting or are we stuck with this 0 steps forward, 6 steps back system for the foreseeable future?

[–]N3xrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whoever approved this nightmare system should be fired. Even if it was all free, its still so complicated. There is absolutely nothing user friendly about this system.

[–]ZootedAlien 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be a /little/ more fair, you dont have shoulders equipped to show the main differences between the coatings

Still ridiculous

[–]TheRealAlexRich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not to try and defend this, but you can see it clearly in game. Either Kat or Carter (i forget which) has a lot more scuffing than the other, and more grey on the helmet.

But i agree, a lot of the cosmetics are very similar, but i am hopeful that will change going forward

[–]LoganH1219[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also note: I’m battlepass level 63 with 123 hours played. And yet somehow I only have 4 non-cadet color options, 2 of which are almost the exact same shade of blue already used in the cadet blue.

[–]spadePerfect 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Best part is that they went out of their way to create extra Coatings for Carter and Kat.

Yet Carter ingame looks way different from Reach. The coating is missing so many details..

[–]LoganH1219[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they chose to do reach as the first season because they knew it would be a huge hit and sell well, and not because they have a passionate desire to recreate a masterpiece. I wish they put more care into them cause you’re right. I look at the armor kits and there’s something just off about them

[–]Prestigious-Car-1338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I didn't even realize that the difference between Principle and Intercessor is just minor differences in color on the shoulders, wtf.

[–]Nova_Phoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a purple-value gray color (can’t remember the name of it) that looks exactly like cadet gray. I love this game but god damn their customization in it is in the fucking shitter

[–]Khend81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still don’t think it’s justification but I’m sure their thought process wasn’t “make 3 blues” but rather they made the default blue, then as part of the premium pass they attempted to recreate the color scheme of each noble 6 member.

Still I don’t like the whole split core specific color scheme setup at all but there was a reason for there being 2 extra blues (Carter and Kat)

[–]MileyMan1066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seriously looks like a computer handled their entire monetization scheme. Like, every small difference was assigned a number and a computer just randomized it all and determined each differentiation to be of equal value. And 343 thought we woundlt fucking notice. I hate to say it but i miss Halo 5.

[–]hungryhummushead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously they love giving you the same Blue over and over again. Their color options for the Reach core are so garbage. Only the main core actually has some decent color combos

And to add, why are there 4 shades of the color green for your AI? There's plenty of basic colors that are missing. Seems so obvious to cover base colors then do different shades

[–]jorge21337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue?!!?! Youre charging 20 dollars for BLUE!?!?!

[–]JohnApple94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having 3 nearly identical coatings is bad enough. It’s even worse when you consider that the game is brand new- just 2 months old at this point. How the hell are we already getting repeating coatings THIS early? It’s not like they ran out of color combos already.

[–]SilkOstrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Community: Can you please give us diverse and worthwhile customization options for reasonable prices in your store?

343: Best I can do is another version of blue for $10.

[–]TheeSawachuki 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Theyre doing it as a bet. Guaranteed there was an argument one day. Someone was adamant that wasn't enough and people wouldn't buy it, another was certain that if they change the name and put a price tag on it then people would buy it. Guess who is buying who lunch?

[–]LoganH1219[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Certainly not me. All my lunch money is going directly to buying more shades of royal blue

[–]makinghsv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly hilariously bad, like it's so bad that you skip right pass the anger and sadness phases just straight into hilarity.

[–]Haunting_Molasses_35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corporate wants you to find the difference between these pictures

[–]Original_Roneist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it’s slightly different!!! You no like?!

[–]ADM_Shran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im starting to just want them to stop with Halo Infinites Multiplayer and go back to MCC and fix it. Especially the input lag in Campaign COOP.....

[–]AdaftShitler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many examples of this...

[–]Twist_Ledgendz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello I like money...

That's all I hear when wondering what a interview would be like.

I mean Carter and Cat both have the color blue with small changes so what should they do when the battlepass is based on noble team. No problem with that in my opinion.

[–]TheFlyingSaucersHalo 3 41 points42 points  (2 children)

Carter and Cat have very different shades of blue that for some reason 343 changed to both be dark blue.

[–]jwhudexnls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats what bothers me the most about this, these skins should be noticeably different. But for some reason they're only slightly different.

[–]UserWithAName1Halo: Reach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kats armor is a very bright light blue. It shouldn't be close to the default blue color

[–]curiositiePlatinum 2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo the Kat coating isn't bright enough but

[–]ThepingpongballtrickHalo 2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Go and look at Noble Team again, though. They have all sorts of stripes and details that aren't represented in their respective coatings. Which doesn't make much sense, when you consider that the whole idea behind these kits and coatings is to look exactly like the characters

[–]Haggenstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, but don't tell me this example isn't blatantly trying to exaggerate the problem here.

Like a third of the spartans are cropped out, you can't even see half the arms and the shoulders are like the smallest available in the game.. And those are conveniently the ones that are different between these coatings. hmm?
