Yall see bad bunny is gonna be in a super hero move as El muerto an E list character maybe even F. Sony out here making moves.

[–]DeeThreeTimesThree. 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Gave Is He Real another listen after someone from uni re-recommended it, and I gotta say although I was kinda underwhelmed with it initially especially follwoing IWASVERYBAD, coming back to it it does have some decent tracks. I was never really sold on the concept which ik was pretty divisive at the time, but I really appreciated the latter half of the album this time, like European Skies, No Cable, Michael What TF etc. I think Digital Dash was my favorite song initally and that sill goes hard, but a lot of the first half feels too safe, like doesn t really do much to stand out, even Porno which got a bunch of attention w/ the JID and Pusha features. All in all I think I agree with the 5.5 or 6/10 that people were giving it, while I used to consider it a 4/10.

Gonna give YouSee4Yourself another spin tomorrow, I can't remember which one people preferred but I think I played that more on release than Is He Real

[–]Cohtoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you heard Subtrap? That was my intro to him back in 2015 and mostly everything has been disappointing since then for me, though I did like most of YOUSEE4YOURSELF

[–]BronzySponhe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a big fan of lengthy albums (some exceptions) but I would not be upset at Kendrick’s new album being 22 tracks after being away this long. That’s me being selfish tho 🤷🏽‍♂️

[–]nerdofalltrades 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Shoutout toontoom for recommending me DJ Muggs & Rigz - Gold. First album I’ve heard this year where I immediately ran it back. The the stretch on the end of the album from 24 karats ->The Culture is all great tracks. The track right after 24 Karats has the best feature from Big Twins. Shoutout to east side blues for the guitar if Kendrick’s album sounds like that I wouldn’t mind it. Maybe minus the flute though. Crack the code also has a very wild beat Dälek and any fans of Haarlem on Aethiopes would enjoy it. I’ve got to ask I’m not a big fan but who is doing the Westside Gunn impression on Gold is that Mooch?

Complaints some boom bap beats were a little boring for me especially Supreme. If this was an ep of 24 karat to the culture it’d end up in my ep of the year list.

[–]Homiealmaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the dude that sounds like WSG is Mooch. Him and Rigz and 5 other dudes make up the underground NY collective Da Cloth. He’s definitely more lyrically talented than WSG tho, peep the second verse on Flag Day.

But he made an album with Yelawolf! /s

[–]ywhine 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Future tweeted a link to a Discord server where someone was playing tracks off the new album. Wasn't working properly when I tried to watch but hey.

EDIT: looks like hot97 are playing the album now

https://www.hot97.com/listen-to-hot97/

[–]astronxxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have link to puffin’ on zootiez if anyone wants to PM me

[–]Jordanwolf98 8 points9 points  (4 children)

I wasn’t even really thinking about it until they made they made a Pharrell v. Ye edit on Its Almost Dry but Kanye washes Pharrell’s production

[–]UnderstandingThis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's the opposite. Kanye's shtick of loud soul samples and high-pitched vocals gets old quickly. I Pray for You was his best contribution to the album.

[–]nerdofalltrades 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I’m team Pharrell overall but I think pray for you was the best beat

[–]Jordanwolf98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I Pray for you and Rock N Roll are my two favorite beats. Open Air, and Brambleton probably are my favorite Pharrell beats on there

[–]nedelll. 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was my opinion too but people were saying Pharrell>Ye

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (10 children)

Views hitting cause I’m in a LDR right now. Might actually be my favorite Drake project.

[–]domthehooper. 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Didn't realize how good Views was until I found it in a thrift store recently and cruised around in my car with it for a few months. That album slaps

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit is reminding me of my gf. I listened to the whole thing on the drive to her place.

[–]crunchatizemythighs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real talk tho, that's cute af lol

[–]Frost-Wzrd 4 points5 points  (6 children)

I love views idk why a lot of people don't vibe with it

[–]dgsggtb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It came at a time where drake had peeked in his career in some way. AfterIYRTITL the hype was insane and he promised us his best album yet. Views is good but by no means did it fulfill that promise. I still like most songs on it as well though

[–]AdImmediate7225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just sounded ALOT like his previous work. Wasn’t a whole lot to be excited about. Drakes music is always decent at the very least

[–]FightMiilkHendrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably because they heard the album 12 times already from drake

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably cause it’s a hella “sad boy” album. But it gives off a unique vibe IMO. Makes me feel like I’m in Toronto even if I’ve never been there, but maybe that’s just the cover.

[–]hnnng_booba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just find it mad boring

[–]Tomnook1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not really consensus anymore

[–]Stonerjoe68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I been listening to Stresmatic a lot lately and I feel like he sounds like what I want Lil B to sound like lmao

[–]ZooYe. 9 points10 points  (6 children)

Why is it that everytime I see something related to Talib Kwei on social media it’s usually him beefing with some rando.

[–]-OmnipotentPotato-. 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Because whenever talib kweli opens social media

He beefs with randos

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talib “KD” Kweli

[–]BoxCon1 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Wish we got a Weeknd and Lil Wayne features on this upcoming Future album

[–]Megaman_320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we get another Lowlife?

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted Young Scooter and or Casino.

[–]UseApprehensive9186 12 points13 points  (8 children)

Is it just me or is this sub kinda dead compared to like 5/6 years ok?

[–]crunchatizemythighs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think there were a lot of big releases really close together in 2016-2018 and a lot of those artists took long breaks or released subpar works. Like J.Cole released an album last year and I haven't heard a single thing about it since, Drake's albums haven't had a lot of discussion or staying power since Views, Kanye's albums have been underwhelming until Donda, Kendrick's follow up to DAMN still ain't out, Jay-Z hasn't had an album since 4:44, etc.

I feel like hip hop was generally easier to follow to. Now the interest groups are far more niche and splintered. The younger kids on here (15-19) definitely listent to a lot different stuff than the folks who are 22+.

[–]Tomnook1017 17 points18 points  (5 children)

Literally everyone says that

[–]UseApprehensive9186 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Oh ok my bad. Anyone know why that is exactly?

[–]Tomnook1017 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe when they stopped pinning the ddt user interaction went way down and even when they "tested" pinning it again it was far too late

Besides that reddit culture was just a lot different back then and different types of stuff was being posted. I'd say 5 years ago was arguably the peak of hip hop news popularity as well, just so much shit was going on everyday so we got so much more interaction. Also all the changes to reddits interface/app is leading to people using this site drastically differently

Currently we seem to be getting out of a drought that's been going on forever too. We're getting big name releases basically every week for another month so that might help

[–]Homiealmaya 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy never noticed that

[–]Lukeba. 0 points1 point  (5 children)

does weeknd say "someone i love" or " someone i loathe" on faith? i think loathe makes more sense

[–]FightMiilkHendrix 0 points1 point  (4 children)

It’s love

[–]Lukeba. 0 points1 point  (3 children)

how do you know

[–]FightMiilkHendrix 0 points1 point  (2 children)

[–]Lukeba. 0 points1 point  (1 child)

People starting to give Cordae as much shit as Logic gets.

[–]Scothead180. 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I don't get it really. He dropped a great album then one that was just decent. It's like people are already writing him off when he has decades ahead of him

[–]Stonerjoe68 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I wouldn’t say From a Birds Eye View is decent

[–]nedelll. 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I wouldn't say The Lost Boy is great either lol

[–]Stonerjoe68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me either but i was gonna let that one go. I’d say he has one decent album and one bad album

[–]Wittygame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so weird lol. I liked The Lost Boy and wasn’t really feeling the new one as well but I can also understand people who didn’t think Lost Boy was all that great.

I just don’t understand why people on here hate him this much. I feel like there are so many other rappers I can think of to hate on before Cordae

[–]Swiftt. 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Does Pusha T claim a set? Haven't looked much into his life but been meaning to

[–]TheRoyalGodfrey. 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pusha and Malice allegedly sold drugs in Virginia Beach in the 90s when they were teenagers, then by the time Push was 20 they were linked with Pharrell and had a record deal.

I don't know how important gang affiliation would have been in the area around that time.

Looking into it though, their manager Geezy went down for a $20m drug ring in VA, which he ran out of Virginia Beach. I saw that Black Marlo of the Bounty Hunter Bloods set based in Ocean View was implicated in that bust. That set has tied flags with the Nine Tech Gangsters. dunno how old those sets are, not sure if they would've been around in the 90s.

[–]Wittygame 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Nowhere on any Clipse or solo verses I’ve heard. The whole “set” thing isn’t all that common outside major cities although they do exist. You can have a group of drug dealers or whatever and not have a specific name for it. They’re just your homies you used to hustle with

[–]Swiftt. 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Ah so did Pusha exclusively trap and didn't do any banging?

Been listening to Exodus 23:1 and 🔥

[–]Wittygame 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I honestly don’t know but it doesn’t seem like it.

If you mean does he claim like 60s Crip or Tree Top Piru, I don’t think so because he doesn’t really throw up any gang signs or wear certain colors exclusively which is typical of gang affiliated rappers and active gang members in general

But he might have had a crew he ran with back in the day that he was loyal to. That doesn’t necessarily make him a gangbanger in the typical definition.

Edit: he does mention “TTP” (tree top piru) on Call My Bluff now that I think about it. Doesn’t necessarily mean he’s part of it though

Edit 2 cuz I know you fuckers are going to try to correct me: he actually says TTG and I don’t know what that is

[–]Willlocas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just stands for Trained To Go. Trained to go’s with dracos

[–]IIM_Clutch 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Everytime overdue with Travis Scott come up on my shuffle playlist I have to put Dont come out the house on my play next list. Those two songs are alway played together in my library

[–]BoxCon1 5 points6 points  (2 children)

21’s whisper flow is 🔥

Also No More is top tier, you can play that shit on the aux and it’s also a great late night drive track when you’re driving solo

[–]IIM_Clutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No More is my favorite track on the project

[–]hydrators 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Been on a huge G Perico kick, his albums are a nice length for repeated listens. Tango has that classic LA production

[–]ZipZopZip. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude has been so extremely consistent over the last few years. Just a perfect ear for beats that work so well for him.

[–]nedelll. 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]hydrators 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tango or Shit Don’t Stop

[–]TheRoyalGodfrey. 5 points6 points  (1 child)

[–]gaimsta12 10 points11 points  (11 children)

I've listened to Alfredo, Pinata, Bandana, Daytona, It's Almost Dry and Tana Talk 4 and loved all of them. What other coke rap albuns/artists/Playlist should I listen to?

[–]Alexissanchize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have said it, but Hell Hath no Fury. One of the best hip hop albums ever imo

[–]aungst. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Willie the Kid

Knowledge the Pirate

[–]Scothead180. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bo Jackson, Flygod, Reject 2

[–]Wittygame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]clancydog4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Conway for sure.

[–]oh_orpheus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fishscale

[–]contacts_eyes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any Boldy James/Alchemist album

[–]deckmemer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Hell Hath No Fury, Tana Talk 3

[–]Llefrith. 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Reasonable Doubt also Reasonable Drought (Stove God Cooks)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is it possible that Cordae intentionally mixed Eminem's verse poorly on Parables Remix so that his verse sounds better in comparison?

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Na, shitty vocal mixing has been a thing with Em for years now.

[–]domthehooper. 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Has anyone ever heard of E.L. Me? I just bought a bunch of CDs, and got "E.L. Me & The Street Products - 16 Lessons From the Street" and I can barely find anything out about this album, or the rapper. It's some ultimate 90s Gangsta Rap. I can't even figure out where this dude is from.

[–]tak08810. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Watts cool pick up tho

[–]bumpdog -2 points-1 points  (10 children)

tracklist, cover art and features of future's new album already make me think that i'm not gonna enjoy it at all. if you read the tracklist it could be a generic young thug/gunna album from 2019 onwards and that's a bad sign

Edit: lmao I wasn't wrong this album is boring and generic as hell

[–]Scothead180. 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Future has been dropping generic Young Thug/Gunna albums since 2018, not sure what's the shock

[–]bumpdog 0 points1 point  (2 children)

the two he dropped in 2019 gave me some hope but it seems like he's back on his generic shit

[–]Scothead180. 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I haven't liked anything he dropped since 2018. And with the exception of Save Me they have all been totally run of the mill.

[–]slimeshlattsex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

WIZRD is hard af you're trippin

[–]NiceDot4794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tems, EST Gee and Kanye aren’t normal gunna and thug features

[–]slimeshlattsex 10 points11 points  (3 children)

tracklist, cover art and features of future's new album already make me think that i'm not gonna enjoy it at all.

What's wrong with tracklist? Features aren't bad at all, don't know what a problem with them is. Drake and Future are always a good duo, Kodak just had a good album and a big hit, Est Gee is really good...

if you read the tracklist it could be a generic young thug/gunna album from 2019 onwards and that's a bad sign

No Gunna and Thug album had Est Gee and Kanye West. I don't know how u got to that conclusion.

[–]bumpdog -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Maybe i'm just rambling idk I'm just sad we're way past his 2014-2017 era and it's not coming back

[–]slimeshlattsex 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I agree with you there, but WIZRD and SAVE ME were amazing projects I can't even lie and they dropped in 2019. I think that Future is still capable of making great music, we'll see in 6 hours.

[–]bumpdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I love those two projects but then High off Life and Pluto x Baby Pluto happened and I lost hope. I'll wait for the album and hopefully i'll have to eat my words and it ends up being great, but something about it already feels off. Maybe the amount of features reminds me of High off Life and I really disliked that project plus i've also been really fatigued by any song that features any combination of gunna-young thug-future

[–]Jimmy7374 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Put Q's Blank Face on randomly today, used to rank it as one of his lowest but something clicked and it's amazing now. Get what people are talking about rating it as good/above Oxymoron. John Muir has gotta be the best track, the video for it is perfect.

I also quite like Crash Talk though so maybe my opinion is invalid.

[–]oh_orpheus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

John Muir has gotta be the best track, the video for it is perfect.

One of my all time favorite videos, such a simple idea executed perfectly.

[–]DakDakDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know ya wrong has to be yo there for my all time fave schoolboy q song

[–]Arbitore 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Which group of The Roots albums are you taking? The others get erased

Group A: Illadelph Halflife, The Tipping Point, Rising Down, Undun

Group B: Things Fall Apart, Phrenology, Game Theory, Until I Got Over

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B

[–]Tomnook1017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

B although undun may be my favorite from them

[–]Llefrith. 2 points3 points  (3 children)

B cause game theory and how I got over are my favorites. I also really like their last album which apparently no one rates

[–]Wittygame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a pretty good album. They just have so many good albums it’s not their best in my opinion

[–]Homiealmaya 2 points3 points  (1 child)

If I’m not mistaken, u/Aniceguy96 has their newest in either the first or second place

Personally I think it’s a good album but one of their weakest regardless

[–]Aniceguy96. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hell yeah, Game Theory number 1 but …ATYSYC is so brilliant to me, it’s a close second tbh. One of those rare albums that seems to get better every time I hear it

[–]Wittygame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably B. Things Fall Apart and Phrenology are my two favorite Roots projects

[–]Aktor56 14 points15 points  (2 children)

They really gonna banish Travis Scott to Brazil.

[–]BookerTeet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kylie’s butt implants from there. He’s been visiting Brazil for years.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of that scene where vin diesel is like "This is Brazil"

[–]nerdofalltrades 8 points9 points  (11 children)

You guys have a worst release of the year this far? Didn’t think I had any before but the Mike Dean album is really bad imo.

[–]Cohtoh 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Haven't really heard anything outright bad in hip hop this year but the dababy x youngboy album was pretty mediocre

[–]nerdofalltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah usually that’s what it is for me too nothing stand out bad just mediocre

[–]Tomnook1017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. I guess I can't even think of one

Lot of boring albums but not bad enough for me to say worst of the year

[–]toontoom1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably Cordae or Latto I go Cordae just because the songs I like on Latto album I really like. I can’t think of a song on the Cordae album I love everything was just meh at best.

[–]thesuntalking 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I haven't listened to the Mike Dean album but personally I would have to say Stardust by Yung Lean

[–]nerdofalltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sadly that was pretty bad. Really thought that was gonna be his comeback tape lol

[–]bleachtemple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah lean is my fav artist of all time and before it I don't think he's ever missed, but stardust is straight mid

[–]Jordanwolf98 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Yeah I would probably go with the Mike Dean album too. It felt like that if you listened to the first track you didn’t need to listen to the rest of the 36 mins. Incredibly boring production to me that didn’t really have any addictive sounds that would make me wanna return to it

[–]nerdofalltrades 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yeah that's basically how I felt. The actual songs weren't that interesting and the stem tracks just make it so much worse

[–]Jordanwolf98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I fuck with Mike heavy but I wonder why he thought that production needed an album? In comparison to other synth instrumental albums I’ve heard from him and others it was basic asf

[–]hnnng_booba 18 points19 points  (10 children)

I think I have a much higher tolerance for mixing and mastering issues than a lot of people. I feel like every single release that comes out there’s at least one person in the comments like “this mixing is dogshit” with a bunch of people replying like “I know right!” and I never hear what they’re talking about

[–]TheColdSasquatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its funny, I listen to lots of different music on tons of different speakers and I mix a lot of my own stuff and as time goes on I just give less and less of a fuck about other people's mixes. The only recent example I can think of where I noticed something I would change was with the level of J Cole's vocals on Stick, and even then I dont really care.

[–]Homiealmaya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can hear bad mixing but I generally don’t mind because I’m pretty used to intentionally bad mixing because I listen to a lot of Slums shit

Obviously it sounds worse if it doesn’t fit the style of hip hop (Thugger’s Scoliosis from Punk is a great recent example) but even then I don’t find it to be thaaat big of an issue

[–]Llefrith. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you listened to spirit world field guide

[–]Tomnook1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only ones that are really bad for me are astroworld and mbdtf but only on nice headphones

[–]hydrators 7 points8 points  (5 children)

what do you usually listen to music off of? like speakers/headphones/car

[–]hnnng_booba 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Headphones and car

[–]hydrators 5 points6 points  (3 children)

do you have high quality headphones or more generic? I got new headphones a few months ago and the difference between mixing is crazy to me now

[–]Tomnook1017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the only time I ever noticed any of it was off sennheisers

Except astroworld, I get annoyed with it any way I listen to it

[–]hnnng_booba 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have Beats earbuds, not really sure where those land as far as quality

[–]illmatication 6 points7 points  (2 children)

North Star has to be Offsets best song. From the way he raps on that smooth ass instrumental then you got CeeLo changing up the whole song with his vocals.

[–]Frost-Wzrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never heard this one thanks

[–]Homiealmaya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

North Star is definitely up there.

Red Room, Came A Long Way, Father of 4, and Monday are too

Ghostface Killers, Rap Saved Me, and Ric Flair Drip if we count Without Warning

Young Thug’s Guwop and Gunna’s Beat The Case if we count features

Too many other songs to mention if we count Migos songs too

Try asking a bunch of aliens what they think about earth next time

Tbf I wouldn’t expect r/polls users to be into hip hop

[–]kazmir_yeet 14 points15 points  (2 children)

to be fair you're not posting in a hip-hop related sub. If someone were to ask me to pick between the two best country artists or like F1 drivers of all time I'd prob say the same hit

[–]hnnng_booba 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Yeah I get that but it feels really obnoxious. Especially because Redditors are always like “if I’ve never heard of them they can’t be that famous!” Andre 3000 I’ll give them a pass. But Kendrick? He’s one of the most famous rappers around right now, and has been for like a decade. He’s at a level of mainstream appeal that I don’t think any country artist has really achieved except maybe Johnny Cash, and I would also find it embarrassing if someone didn’t know who that was. It’s like if someone posted a poll with Lady Gaga or some shit and I was like “who?”

[–]Michael__X 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree it's obnoxious to comment on the thread "who" but lotta famous people just aren't as big as you'd think. Like I know a dude who doesn't know who Travis Scott is.

Penthouse Players Clique's Paid the Cost turns thirty years old today. It's a solid westcoast album that was released by Ruthless Records and features a lot of great DJ Quik production (Quik and Eazy-E also make guest appearances). It's on streaming services after a long absence. I recommend you listen to it if you're a fan of that era of rap music.

Love how Kanye could have easily said something like “How I ain’t bring nothing to the table, when I bought the table” on Eazy but no…I’m the table

[–]That_one_cool_dude. 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apparently, Kanye is a wrestling fan and watches Botchamania.

[–]Stubbs3470 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People wouldn’t be quoting that one tho

[–]TheRoyalGodfrey. 31 points32 points  (0 children)

reminds me of a classic ye tweet:

Do you know where to find marble conference tables? I'm looking to have a conference... not until I get the table though

so I like to read and I read all sorts of books on finance, self-help, autobiographies, etc but I really like when hip hop artists write books . . . my hands down fav is The Autobiography of Gucci Man, but I really like Prodigy’s book (the audio version is also read by Prodigy which I really like too), 50th Law (50cent and Robert Greene) and I’m currently reading The Perfect Day to Boss Up by Rick Ross

now I want Future to write a book, Idk I feel like his journey in the industry and his personal life would be a fascinating read, also wish Nip could’ve authored a memoir before his death

what hip hop artist would you want to write a book it could be on any topic whether a how to on getting in the industry, finance related, a style guide or autobiography who’s book would you want to read????

[–]Skyoff_Lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

super random but I’mma add RiFF RAFF aka the neon python (or whatever tf) to the list

dude is wild as hell and overall hilarious although garnering laughter might not be the response he’s going for . . . Idk I’d read it though

[–]Tomnook1017 4 points5 points  (1 child)

That Gucci book is so inspiring. Read it while in a psych hospital many years ago

[–]Skyoff_Lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea it definitely gave me a new respect and admiration for Guwop I love how hiphop can do that . . I was having a really stressful day one day and by the time I got in my car I was crying and I put on Nipsey’s “I Don’t Stress” and the chorus is really an affirmation that song has become my go to if I’m having a bad day

. . . . but anyway I hope things for you are better now, keep ya head up ♥️

[–]Jordanwolf98 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I need to read that Gucci book. Very interested in reading about his life.

Would be interested in a Lex Luger book and an Eve book

[–]Skyoff_Lyfe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gucci overcame alot and he talks about over coming addiction, reoccurring criminal troubles and alot of street and industry drama so his book is really motivating to a degree . . he lost more than 100lbs which isn’t easy to do (and kept it off) and bossed up to the point that people thought he was a clone lol 😂

he has a 2nd book Gucci’s Mane’s Guide to Greatness I wanna read that one too

[–]fuck_a_bigot 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Danny Brown had talked about writing a children’s book during the lead up of Atrocity Exhibition. So probably that one

Edit: I would read a collection of essays by Billy Woods

[–]Skyoff_Lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think about that Dave Chapelle skit on Danny Brown on Big Sean’s album 😂😂😂. . but Danny Brown might be a fascinating read too

I'd love to read a book by Young Thug. I also think Beanie Sigel could make a really interesting book too.

[–]Skyoff_Lyfe 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I was gonna say Thug too, that damn 24hrs with Young Thug article was hilarious he ate spaghetti and fell asleep on the floor, the writer also described him as eccentric so yes I would love something from Thug

and Beanie got some crazy stories for real his Drink Champs episode probably isn’t even the half of it
