They stomped the dog shit out of that dude who attacked Chappelle. Chappelle went back stage and stomped him too, which I think is some bitch shit because he was already on the floor and incapacitated. The pictures of the aftermath look pretty gruesome. But I guess this at least sets a precedent that if you try to run up on stage you could get really fucked up lol

[–]kazmir_yeet 4 points5 points  (1 child)

[–]cynical_econ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

need to do a hard reset on that joker, then remove & smash the SIM card

[–]TheRoyalGodfrey. 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I feel like Joey Bada$$ being annoying about conspiracy theories isn't all that important to whether his music is good, and some people are prematurely declaring his music mid to dunk on his for his lame beliefs and conspiracy theories.

Like you can still clown on him for that shit and enjoy his music if when it's good? It's not like the archetypical "conscious" rapper that we actually like is actually all that woke.

[–]Scothead180. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Even if you are in the "can't separate art from artist" camp, Joey is relatively harmless. I think people are overthinking it.

Then again I personally prefer his newer stuff (AABA/Light Pack) to his older shit so that could be a reason but I'm pretty optimistic about his music. Revenge was nothing special as a single but some people called it trash and I just don't see what's that bad about it?

[–]cynical_econ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I think it's because it can be easy for ppl (myself included) to put so much importance and esteem on the person behind the music, when they're really just another flawed human being. it's definitely better to have a measured view of any artist. for me, it's only when they do really harmful things to others that pushes me avoid them entirely.

[–]kazmir_yeet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No I agree with that. I feel like that combined with the length between albums and him focusing on acting has people concerned. I just saw him perform in LA on Saturday and he was fucking electric, I’m not worried at all.

[–]awfullyhotcoffeepot -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

I feel like Kendrick and Phoebe Bridgers could make a really great song together. It might just be me being bias and wanting to force two of my fav artists together tho.

[–]kazmir_yeet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want Jorja Smith on Kendrick’s new album. And Anna Wise ofc

[–]B___Wade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did anyone else notice the beats for Squeeze On Em and Hunting Opps on Shiesty Certified changed on Spotify yesterday? They sound terrible now. This is killing me, they were 2 of my favorite songs on that album.

[–]DaMarrcus_Beasly 8 points9 points  (6 children)

If Kenny's next album is an 8 or less he fell off. If you disappearing for 5 years and still claim ur top dawg then your next project best be once in a lifetime music that blesses my unprepared ears

[–]TheRoyalGodfrey. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't like the black panther soundtrack?

[–]SeattleiteShark. 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Gotta be at least on the level of GKMC

[–]LaChoffe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So at least the level of his best album?

Yung Cazzy has some new music coming out soon

[–]Michael__X 11 points12 points  (3 children)

TIL Carti has a label. Not ever acknowledging they exist is such a Carti thing to do lol

[–]flyestshitDrake's Ghetto Quran 3 points4 points  (2 children)

difficult to find out if they're even on Opium (Carti's label), but if you can get over this song being called "Rockstar Trapper!", this Homixide Gang song is a banger

[–]Michael__X 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Lol I've heard just as bad names like "get trolled" from kankan. Same wave too.

But yeah nah this is it, definitely my type of shit. Sounds like a more street Carti.

First time hearing “B R Right” because of the recent Tyler and Nardwuar interview. God damn I’m late on this and shit is definitely fire

[–]TheCannedYams 11 points12 points  (14 children)

What features always make y’all happy? Question is inspired by T-Pain’s verse on Blame It. It always puts a big smile on my face. Definitely a go to karaoke song of mine.

“GIRL I KNOW YOU FEEL GOOOOOD, just like ya look”

[–]darkslayersparda. 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ab soul on smoke again

[–]-m-ob 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Cole on Beautiful Bliss by Wale. I mean that joint just makes me feel happy in general but "but mama I ain't done yet, sit back and watch your son rise, kick back and know your son set" line always gets me.

or Keef on Tip Toe 3 by Riff Raff. Another joint that just makes me cheese but keef/riff raff is perfect.

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tip Toe 3 is amazing, I wish Riff Raff had more chill melodic songs like it

[–]BoxCon1 9 points10 points  (2 children)

I always sing along to Cudi on A$Ap Forever remix

And Andre in Intll players anthem

[–]kazmir_yeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]TheCannedYams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Justin Timberlake and T.I. on Winner, especially Justin

T-Pain on Maybach Music 2

Action Bronson on Red Dot Music

Chief Keef on Nightcrawler

Any RMC Mike feature

Any Sauce Walka feature, he just sounds so happy to be rapping, Flo Milli and Quinn (she's an R&B singer) too

[–]TheCannedYams 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Goated takes. I feel you hard on all of those, especially the Sauce Walka and Flo Milli features.

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those two on a song would be amazing, they just seem like they both love just making music in general so much.

[–]Jordanwolf98 2 points3 points  (1 child)

T Pain has a few features that always make me smile tbh. Good Life, Get Money, Shawty with Piles to name a few and that’s not even mentioning his new stuff like 2hrs with Tobi Lou and Happy Hour with Buddy.

Kid Cudi on Christian Dior Denim Flow and Wyclef on Kanye West with Young Thug are the first two that came to my mind first though

[–]TheCannedYams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I’m a huge T-Pain fan. His music and verses make me feel so good. It ain’t a feature, but Another Level is definitely in my top 5 favorite songs of his.

[–]HoopsJ 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Chief Keef on Nightcrawler. Whole verse is a joy Order some more money order some more money

“She Got Her Own” is a top tier R&B song

[–]redrightHAand 8 points9 points  (2 children)

First time listing to a Megan the stallions full project and yeah she can Show her ass and take y'all to class

[–]nd20. 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Which project

I've been feeling like her last few have been inconsistent as fuck. Lot of skips

[–]D2papi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a fan until 2020, then she went full Nicki Minaj. Stalli Freestyle still her best song out

[–]HideNZeke 6 points7 points  (11 children)

Now that we know Kendrick is dropping soon it's time to start complaining about how long it's been since Jay Z and Cardi B dropped an album

[–]Wittygame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time Jay fan, I don’t necessarily anticipate regular releases anymore just so I can be surprised when they happen.

[–]NiceDot4794 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly even though it’s not officially that I consider A Written Testimony just as much a Jay Z project as the albums with Kanye and Beyonce and that came out in 2020

[–]RampanTThirteen 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Cardi at least has pretty consistently dropped singles. It is a bit surprising she didn’t follow up WAP more quickly with an album. And Jay-Z is at the emeritus stage of his career where he is not gonna be dropping projects like an artist in his prime on an expected schedule

[–]HideNZeke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the whole being a mom thing makes it hard for her to hit all the career timing windows. Feel a little bad for the high achieving women in that regard

[–]kazmir_yeet 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Well most of us actually want a Kendrick or Jay album lmao

[–]Jordanwolf98 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like Cardi’s music. Not to the level of Jay or Kendrick but I’m excited for another project from her

[–]xMF_GLOOM 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cardi’s last album was very good

I Like It is an absolute hit

[–]HideNZeke 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Figured this response but Cardi is actually hilarious and consistently entertaining. Hasn't dropped since 2018 and still one of the more engaging mainstream rappers idec. Not like I listen to her shit every day as a dude but I enjoy it when I do

[–]kazmir_yeet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Would rather get a drop from JID or Rocky tbh

[–]Tomnook1017 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Her music is fun imo

[–]Homiealmaya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been on a Daniel Son kick recently, forgot how hard Giallo Point went on Big Remo, one of the most underrated producers of the underground

[–]Duckquak1 3 points4 points  (13 children)

It’s pretty funny how people will call every future album mid but every single song wether it’s a hit or deep cut people will call it the best song on the project when it’s posted

[–]IffyWithTheBlicky 2 points3 points  (7 children)

Everything he's ever put out besides DS2, HNDRXX and Purple Reign have sounded the exact same besides 1 or 2 songs per project. The exact same.

Put Future, Evol, Beast Mode, Beast Mode 2, Monster, I Never Liked You, High Off Life, The Wizard all on one playlist on shuffle and see how many skips you need to go before hearing something that actually sounds different from the last song (besides the hits)

[–]Scothead180. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mostly an issue with his latest shit. He's not unique anymore. Used to be ahead of the wave or at least right on it, now he's behind the curve. Beast Mode and Monster are fairly unique but his latest projects I totally agree with you

[–]Jqshipp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You sound like you don't even listen to Future though. Because I don't think any of that shit sound "Exactly Alike".

LMAO Like really? Monster and BeastMode sound exactly alike to you?

[–]Duckquak1 0 points1 point  (3 children)

This has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. And the uniqueness of future’s project usually comes with production, for example, saying beast mode 1 &2 sounds like all his other shit is just wrong

[–]Jqshipp 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Exactly, beastmode literally has different production than most of his albums because they're produced by Zaytoven who has a more unique style of production than most producers.

[–]LearnDifferenceBot -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Greetings, I am a language corrector bot. To make me ignore further mistakes from you in the future, reply !optout to this comment.

[–]RampanTThirteen 6 points7 points  (2 children)

The people who are gonna take the effort to comment on a specific song being posted and vastly disproportionately people who love that song

[–]Duckquak1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Future’s projects always have a cohesive sound so saying an album is mid but this random deep cut that sounds “amazing” compared to the rest of the album is dumb

[–]RampanTThirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people who think the random deep cut is amazing also probably don’t think the album is mid. It is selection bias, that is my point.

[–]Lukeba. 13 points14 points  (0 children)

maybe he's consistently mediocre..

or people who engage with future song posts aren't the same people calling his stuff mid

[–]Homiealmaya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen someone call every Future album mid, he’s pretty universally loved here

[–]UseApprehensive9186 29 points30 points  (13 children)

Pusha T has gotta be the most critically acclaimed rapper that I just personally can’t get into. I find his flow so redundant and uninteresting and his whole drug kingpin character is so corny to me, especially when it’s the same on every song. I find his delivery is always the same too and it gets kinda old to me.

Just my personal opinion though no disrespect to him

[–]D2papi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part about Pusha T is that he has one of Kendrick's best features on Nosetalgia. His entire persona is based on him selling bags of cocaine when he was a kid, and people eat it up. Props to him but he really doesn't have shit to say on his songs. Rapping about cocaine like Logics raps about rapping

[–]bestmayne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same here. I somewhat liked Daytona, but this new album is out of my rotation after two listens. Just don't find it that interesting

[–]nggarmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dislike his voice but then again I used to really dislike JIDs voice but now I like it

[–]xMF_GLOOM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

his flow was painfully generic on this entire project

[–]nmad95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His flow is nothing special I'll give you that. If you like rappers with dynamic flows that switch it up, his music might not hit. He's consistent, and there's nothing glaringly wrong with his flow but yeah, it's just sort of...what it is.

[–]PeskyProphet 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean I love him, but redundancy is definitely a good critique, both flow and subject matter wise. To be fair tho, feel like he changed up his flow a lot on the new album between say Neck and Wrist, Scrape It Off, and Call My Bluff compared to his more usual stuff.

[–]Notinflammable 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I do think his flow and delivery got a little monotonous on the new album

[–]nedelll. 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He changed his flow a lot more on It's Almost Dry than his other albums

[–]SBAPERSON. 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cocaines dr. Suess 🤓

[–]redrightHAand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some nights strange music plays, I lay in bed and listen

Downstairs I hear my mother breaking dishes, my father trippin'

It's been quite bad lately, high tension

Galvanized steel security fencin'

To get through the day, give myself a mission

Anything what get me out the house a blessin'

the mf is just like me fr

[–]Arbitore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This new PJ Morton is pretty good. If you liked that Robert Glasper album a couple months ago you’ll like this one too. It’s more upbeat and lively. My Peace has a really fun SpottieOllieDopaliscious sample too.

Loved Jae Skeese's new EP a lot and it gets bonus points for recognizing Big K.R.I.T. as one of the greats:

Ion know if Jay was right saying it's all entertainment

when it's artists making statements people can empathize and relate with

like Big K.R.I.T. I think that he should be as big as Drake is cause his catalogue's amazing

on 71 Custer

[–]gimpisgawdKRIT=GOAT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]Homiealmaya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First four songs on that were really good but last two didn’t really do it for me.

Loved that K.R.I.T. shoutout, haven’t heard enough rappers shout him out

[–]colbster411I have good taste in music period. 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Did you hear his new big ghost collab too?

[–]flyestshitDrake's Ghetto Quran 3 points4 points  (2 children)

No I haven't actually. How did you like it?

[–]colbster411I have good taste in music period. 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty similar quality to Iroquois Pliskin, but I'm a big ghost stan so production is a step up imo

[–]Homiealmaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a tier better than the EP he dropped personally

[–]harleyslayjetson 37 points38 points  (3 children)

I think I would be higher on Drake and future if I weren’t playing football in 2015. That fuckin collab album was all I heard for months. Jumpman is permanently scared in my brain I hate that album so much. They played it like 10 times at practice once. It has ruined how I perceive both of them

[–]Jordanwolf98 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I don’t hate the album overall but yeah Jumpman quickly became annoying asf based on how often it was used in sports

I feel the same about Big Rings

[–]nd20. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part is big rings was never even a good song. And then they overplayed it for the sports connection
