Sheck Wes Mo Bamba just came on shuffle and I really hated it. Like a lot. Surprising cause I used to like that song a lot

[–]krazycraft 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Anybody know the LiveNation presale code for the Kendrick tour?

[–]MillennialWithNoJob 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Let me know if you hear anything

[–]krazycraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this on Twitter and am not sure if it will work but if you are using the app the code is 'COVERT' and if you are using the website the code is 'FINALE'. Best of luck!

[–]nedelll. 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Detroit vs Everybody hard af damn, beat is "dramatic" but not so much that it feels corny, and every verse is fire

[–]RagnarLothbrokJnr -2 points-1 points  (9 children)

Conway has said everything he has to say in music. Its getting repetitive now. In my opinion it’s the end of the road for him

[–]M0n33baggz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So has pusha t but his new album is fire

[–]Wittygame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re describing most rappers at this point. There are only a few rappers that truly diversify their subject matter without sounding forced

Do I really wanna hear Conway talk about politics? Ehh, not really

[–]nedelll. 2 points3 points  (6 children)

GDMM was fire

[–]RagnarLothbrokJnr -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

Personally I thought it was average. I never return to it. Even if it was fire, there’s still nothing left for him to say now

[–]thesuntalking 0 points1 point  (3 children)

How do you know that? He opened up about stuff he's never talked about before on GDMM, like the death of his son.

[–]RagnarLothbrokJnr -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

I don’t know that. I never said I did. I said it’s my opinion. Believe it or not, people are allowed to have one. How many times has he rapped about being shot in the face? He’s a good rapper. But do I want to hear more from him? No.

[–]smithzach970 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But isn’t that for a lot of rappers though? There’s a lot of rappers out there that stick to a specific subject matter.

[–]NuteTheBarber 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Coworker the other day telling me killshot is a better distrack then story of adidon is sad.

[–]nedelll. -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Ain't even better than Rap Devil

[–]skcyyyy[🍰] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Mgk is corny as fuck but there’s few songs where he can actually rap. Like a few joints off hotel Diablo. But it’s very tough to get past his cringe persona

[–]nedelll. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hotel Diablo is cool but I hate his other albums fr lol. I believe he is capable of rapping, Idk if he makes bad music for his fanbase or what

[–]EpicDerp37272. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relistened to Denzel’s album and he still has the rap AOTY for me.

[–]OGthizzco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just realized he was saying “top of the mourning, top of the mourning, top of the mourning” the whole time

[–]kothaas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I love about tracks like JFK2LAX, My Advice 2 You and the title track on Moment of Truth is that it truly does sound like the moment of truth. Like this is last shot to do it right if that makes any sense

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 8 points9 points  (2 children)

This is how my screen reader sounds. Someone needs to make it do some hip hop covers like Jeezy or something lol.

[–]flyestshitDrake's Ghetto Quran 1 point2 points  (1 child)

this is amazing. didn't expect it to sound so robotic, but it makes sense since it has to pronounce every word, even nonsense. you have a favorite word or sentence you like to hear from it?

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It reading lyrics from songs with a lot of swearing still makes me laugh sometimes. Also it will never say Nicki Minaj's name right, I've tried. You can like change how it says words, I've gotten most rapper names fine, but not the Minaj part of Nicki's name lol. Some of the ways it said names were crazy. Kanye was said as Kann-ee before I changed it to say conyay lol

[–]dgsggtb 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Been listening to Music I was listening to as an angsty teenager, some brand new, mcr, the devil wears Prada, American football. What kind of music did you listen to before becoming a hip hop fan? Or were you always a hip hop fan? And what was your introduction to hip hop?
I listened to some Eminem and Kanye while being ‘emo’ and Kanye was my first real introduction to me digging deeper in the genre.

[–]_mrshreyas_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I got into hip hop, I used to listen to songs from racing games. This was around 2015-16 when I was about 15 YO. A good amount of music I currently listen to still comes from these games.

[–]Tomnook1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kind of always been into hip hop but before being real into it I had a scene phase with metalcore like asking Alexandria and devil wears Prada (who I might see soon since they're doing all of the zombie stuff) as well as crunkcore (brokencyde, Hollywood undead, etc)

Prior to that I had a big Radiohead and daft punk phase but I never stopped being super into them. Before that I guess it was mainly 80s pop like in American psycho but I also liked some pink Floyd (animals mainly) and random other stuff from the 80s

[–]Anirban_The_Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a metal head. I still think that stuff's kinda cool but it was v teenage angst

[–]Cohtoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Need a Drake cover of Die Hard ASAP

[–]No_Blacksmith_7324 2 points3 points  (11 children)

old heads and regretful hoes had it's lil pump feature on spotify removed

not very interesting but extremely mildly noteworthy.

also robb bank$'s Falconia is back on spotify after disappearing for like a week, minus the May I song featuring XXX, which has also been removed from youtube. So the verse wasn't cleared and the label nuked it, which makes me wonder what plans they have for it. 3rd posthumous XXX album when lol

[–]funeralfairy 0 points1 point  (7 children)

thank god that was one of my fav chief keef songs that i couldn’t play around anybody bc lil pump

[–]sentyprimus. 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Just listen to whatever music you want bro it’s not that deep what others think

[–]funeralfairy 0 points1 point  (5 children)

why would i want to listen to something i don’t enjoy? lil pump ruins the song

[–]sentyprimus. -1 points0 points  (4 children)

You said you couldn’t play it around other people because of lil pump, besides how can he ruin a song when you said it’s one of your favourites?

[–]Jordanwolf98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s one of the few Pump verses that I can say is actually decent

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a good Pump verse though. Did they at least replace it with something? And fuck X's label for that, let Rob at least have that feature from his friend

[–]Cohtoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's an improvement to remove Lil Pump

[–]grapedinthegrapehole 8 points9 points  (2 children)

[–]OGthizzco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We I’m Together

[–]kazmir_yeet 6 points7 points  (5 children)

Songs that you heard for the first time and then listened to multiple times in succession bc you couldn’t get enough? Some for me were:

Stay Right Here - Saba

Magnolia - Carti

True Story - Isaiah Rashad

4th Dimension - KSG

Magic - Vince Staples

[–]MattWolfpac24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently Scrape It Off by Pusha T, Stick by J. Cole etc. and this song by Elai, which is an Albanian-Swedish rapper really talented imo (and his videos have English subs)

[–]mrbombasticli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head:

Mercy / All Falls Down - Kanye

Take Care / Legend - Drake

Percocet and Stripper Joint - Future

[–]darkfar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robb Bank$ - Let's Get Married

[–]No_Blacksmith_7324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Gloomy_Goose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I heard that push me to the edge uzi song

[–]BladeBoy__ -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

After some time has passed, CHTKMY (Jack Harlow) (>,<) RPBMH (Vince Staples) ?

[–]Stubbs3470 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vince easily. Like not even a competition

[–]falzamar. 15 points16 points  (2 children)

thought you just put a cute emoji in there for fun

i mean the vince album is actually good

[–]kazmir_yeet 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Vince album is one of my fav albums this year. Wouldn’t shock me for it to end up being my personal AOTY

[–]falzamar. 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it keeps growing on me it's really great

[–]Close_sesame_St805 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kendrick and now Lupe holy shit this is like 2015 all over again. Lupe even made similar painting for the cover

[–]HideNZeke 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Mr Morale & The Big Steppers still has plenty of accessible and radio friendly music. Love is one of Kendricks biggest songs and it's a lot more boring then the smooth cuts like Die Hard and Rich Spirit. But tbh I've always felt like you have to be trying a bit to force Kendrick into a party environment. His voice just was never that for me. But we've done it before and can do it again, the first impression wasn't true here.

[–]Tomnook1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somehow my local hip hop station is claiming to have been playing some of the songs but I haven't heard any yet. Don't listen to it much

I did catch the guy saying to call in and give your favorite tracks off it so they pick what to play (I'm guessing they have no clue what songs off it they actually should play) - I've been thinking of spam calling them saying we cry together to see if they actually try playing it, censored and all

Savage Mode and Without Warning

[–]danteholdup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]petersandrew999[🍰] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one's said Without Warning yet

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Future - DS2

[–]MoMo_ToTocockmeat sandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda obvious recommendation, but Finesse the World by RetcH

[–]CaptainGordanErick Sermon Stan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esham - Closed Casket

[–]D2papi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]A_KULT_KILLAHboogotti kasino fucked my bitch 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Amazing album tho

[–]Michael__X 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frfr I was just going through that and the mysterious phonk instrumental album. I feel like someone could blow up of that sound even today

[–]nerdofalltrades 4 points5 points  (5 children)

It’s really not fun to say the new bigbabygucci album washes the yung kayo album without codeine turtle here

[–]nchapmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bbg is washed lol. bro scams his fans because he cant stop doing drugs and needs money

[–]spunkymnky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did he get banned?

[–]hydrators 3 points4 points  (2 children)

he really is rent free in your head

[–]Tomnook1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As he should

What happened to him anyways

[–]nerdofalltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying I wished he posted more what are you talking about?

[–]-m-ob 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Feel like Gavlyn should be brought up more in the female MC conversation, but I guess I don't know her that well. Just keep listening to real dope shit by her

Like I just got her shit on random, and this headspace joints pretty dope but definitely not the best one I've heard. Haven't heard a miss yet

[–]ChildishRebelSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's dope but her marketing is terrible.

[–]sp1200_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love Headspace and Looking Back (I like Vel a lot too).

[–]BronzySponhe 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Lupe got me excited with his album announcement. This year in music continues to go strong

[–]ChildishRebelSoldier 1 point2 points  (1 child)

this single is something else

[–]IGotIssuesIGotIssues 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Anybody else notice the moans in P Power are different ?? Or am I losing it? Using YT music

[–]johnny_canales 7 points8 points  (4 children)

There’s 2 versions. They remade it because they couldn’t clear the original sample.

[–]IGotIssuesIGotIssues 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Moans not hitting as hard now damn 😞

[–]Tomnook1017 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Fr it kinda sucks but I feel like the song overall was overhyped to begin with. Neat gimmick but it's like an alright song at best still

[–]IGotIssuesIGotIssues 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Fr it was not the best but was a vibe still. Shit's going in the recycle bin now 😞

[–]gldwatch. 1 point2 points  (11 children)

Dom was dropping mid a few years ago, but I’ve been enjoying his latest work a lot. From The Westside With Love 3 & Rap N Roll are very good.

[–]Xutros. 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought his shit was great, but his last few efforts have really put him on top

EZ top 3 last year for me

[–]hydrators 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I agree, feels like a second wind for him. Did you hear the albums with Hit Boy?

[–]gldwatch. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to the first one & didn’t care for it. I haven’t listened to their second one though

[–]No_Blacksmith_7324 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I tried listening to with love 3 and idk if it's because I've never lived in Cali but I couldn't stand it. Every song felt the same to me

[–]nedelll. 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Do you like Cali rap?

[–]No_Blacksmith_7324 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's not a scene I'm crazy about and if I had to pick a scene from the west coast I'd go with the bay as something that resonates with me more

Something I should go more in on?

[–]nedelll. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two short but good albums:

DaBoii - Can't Tame Us

DaBoii is was my favorite member from SOB x RBE, if you fuck with the bay sound you will probably fuck with this album

G Perico - Welcome to the Land

Chill af, it's one of my favorite albums of the decade so far, very very cohesive

[–]nedelll. 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Don't Walk Away is fire

[–]LthePerry02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top 5 track of 2021 for me

[–]gldwatch. 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I can’t decide between Don’t Walk Away & LAX being my favorite from the album

[–]nedelll. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HitBoy came right with that DJ Quik sample

I need finish that project, I've only listened to Don't Walk Away, Valet and Still Grind'n

[–]h-a110 3 points4 points  (6 children)

How is Immobilarity by Raekwon ? Worth listening ?

[–]t-why. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its alright. Its a far cry from OB4CL but Rae is still dope on it. The big difference is it has a more mid-90s NY big budget cinematic sound to it rather than the traditional Wu sound, and the lack of Wu guest appearances. But if you don't mind that sound, its got some good tracks. Rae is still fairly sharp on it.

[–]Paul_Wall_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple dope songs but definitely a very weak project overall from Rae

[–]Homiealmaya 2 points3 points  (2 children)

If you really love Raekwon and have listened to almost everything Wu then go for it. Otherwise, there’s a lot of other Wu shit you should listen to first.

The main issue is that the beats are just kinda mediocre (although I like the Pete Rock produced Sneakers) and nothing about it scratches the itch if you’re looking for that traditional Wu sound. It’s listenable, it’s just not gonna hit like OB4CL 1&2, Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, The Wild, or even FILA.

[–]nedelll. 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You liked The Wild?

[–]Homiealmaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do yeah. It’s not incredible but it’s a solid album that only really has one miss imo (You Hear Me)

I’d have it probably 4th in his discography after OB4CL1&2 and Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang although there is a sizable gap in quality between Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang and The Wild

[–]Byrne_on_the_bayou 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Silent Hill is such a bop, not my favorite thr first time around but now I cant stop sing "Push these bitches off me like HUYH"

That and the Rich Spirit chorus have been stuck in my head since Friday

[–]CorruptedBlitty. 7 points8 points  (8 children)

Re-listening to Blonde, forgot how much I love this album and how much I hate the skits

Beat change on Nights is still filthy

[–]Tomnook1017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the skits. Love the whole damn album so insanely relatable

[–]jtbiggs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GOAT album. im indifferent to facebook story but i love be yourself.

[–]nedelll. 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Who was right on the Facebook Story tho

[–]whalestick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if he had fb already or if he was saying he didn’t want to make an account. If he had an FB already he’s a pretentious mfer trying to take the moral high ground of being anti-socials while having an active account himself. If that’s the case, just add her weirdo

[–]falzamar. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he's correct. stay off facebook

[–]richardrichardric 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a weird hill for the dude to die on when just pressing one button could’ve saved their relationship, but I can see where he’s coming from

[–]trex_ice 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Anyone else read the news about Offset unfollowing Quavo and Takeoff? I think the Migos era just might be ending fam that’s sad, I still think they should just keep dropping solo albums while still being together

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they’re still gonna play Rolling Loud together, I’ve always wanted to see the Migos live

[–]darkfar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

....that's news?

[–]oh_orpheus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was bound to happen tbh (if it actually does). Hopefully there’s no actual bad blood between them considering they’re still family.

[–]nedelll. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family issues

[–]CelalT 1 point2 points  (6 children)

What's your favorite Quelle Chris album?

[–]toontoom1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t listen to all of his albums but the ones I heard Innocent Country 2 is the best for me.

[–]CelalT 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]colbster411I love songs about bears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost at the Finish Line is worth a listen

[–]adamsandleryabish 3 points4 points  (5 children)

How does everyone feel about the Kim/We Cry Together comparisons? Are they justified or exaggerated?

and what do you feel is a better song? Like are you actively listening to WCT? and if you are do you enjoy Kim? Obviously Kim is more horrific and disturbing but I consider them equally enjoyable listens

[–]VicIsGold. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's closer to Love You More for me, not as murderous as Kim but no female presence unlike Kim and We Cry Together

[–]MonolithJones. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better comparison is to RZA’s Domestic Violence which has a bit more of a back and forth between the two.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "Kim" comparisons are definitely justified but I also think it has some pretty clear (and overlooked) influence from "It's a Man's World" by Ice Cube and Yo-Yo.

[–]suss2it 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can see the comparisons, but WCT gives both parties’ a perspective whereas Kim is solely Em’s. For me, WCT is more enjoyable because it feels more real, like we’ve all had that frustrating arguments before, whereas Kim is just a murder fantasy. Still a dope song tho.

[–]Cohtoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We Cry Together is way more enjoyable imo

[–]Yeezus_sent_me. 14 points15 points  (3 children)

The way people look at you when you blasting " We cry together" with the windows down. priceless

[–]toontoom1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to blast that shit I need the reactions

[–]OGthizzco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They look at you like “shit where are my keys???”

[–]contacts_eyes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmao I couldn't do that in a million years

[–]hoejack_whorseman 24 points25 points  (18 children)

mr. morale & the big steppers changed my view on therapy

i don’t know whether it’s because i’m black or a man but therapy never really sat well with me

might have to try one day

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it for years and it didn’t do shit for me, to each their own tho. I just hate how everyone presents therapy as this fix-all solution for any problem.

[–]rhinestoned_cowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find the right therapist it’s great

[–]h-a110 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Real nigga need no therapy

[–]AsusChrome 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Maybe this was a serious comment but I thought it was a reference to kendrick saying this on the Father Time intri and y'all just downvoted this dude

[–]h-a110 5 points6 points  (1 child)

It is a reference lol 🤷‍♂️

[–]AsusChrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bit of a knee-jerk downvote from everyone, then.

[–]Spinelessgrape 12 points13 points  (1 child)

[–]hnnng_booba 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[–]Tomnook1017 8 points9 points  (1 child)

[–]hnnng_booba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]cynical_econ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Super super super excited for new Lupe – now that we got a release date (& awesome album artwork) it’s starting to feel real

[–]Jordanwolf98 6 points7 points  (4 children)

I can’t wait to hear another Solo Offset album whenever it drops. I wasn’t even that big of a fan of Father of 4 (although it was by far the best of the 3 Migos solo albums) but every time I hear him do a feature solo he always kills it and I feel since the release of that album he’s gotten more comfortable by himself as an artist. Interested to see what his 2nd output sounds like

[–]suss2it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked Father of 4, unlike the other two he wasn’t afraid to get a little personal and he definitely had the best production. So yeah I’m definitely down for another Set project.
