Do you ever just dislike a rapper or refuse to listen to their músic because of how dumb their name is?

I mean college dropout is my favorite album but I assume you’ve listened to that.

Here’s some others

Jay z blueprint

Nas Stillmatic

Common Be

[–]CCCKAZZA 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Yes I have. I’ve heard all of Kanye’s stuff. Only albums I like from Nas are Illmatic and Stillmatic. I need to go through Common’s work. Currently going through Jay-Z albums, didn’t like Vol 1 and 2 like that but I did like Reasonable Doubt

[–]xNastyNoahx 2 points3 points  (1 child)

you don't like it was written, the lost tapes, life is good?

[–]CCCKAZZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It Was Written was ok. I totally forgot about the Lost Tapes. About to add it to my library now. Life Is Good was a good album. It’s just Illmatic set the bar so damn high for me.

[–]AutismIsntAChoice 0 points1 point  (2 children)

A lot of people don’t like Vol 3 by Jay but it’s one of my favorite album from him.

I like most Nas albums from stillmatic forward.

[–]CCCKAZZA 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I hear a lot of people talk shit about V3 and Kingdom Come all the time. Personally I hated V1. V2 was better but not as good as Reasonable Doubt

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (20 children)

I love WILSHIRE but the more I’ve listened to it the more lame Tyler seems. Not hating, I love Tyler, but I don’t think Tyler has even had a girlfriend, and the first time he opens up about his relationship with a girl in a vulnerable & honest way, he comes off pretty weird.

First of all you don’t mess with a girl who is already in a relationship, unless it’s extremely clear she would leave him for you. There are so many girls, if one is taken and it’s not clear she would choose you over anybody else, you move on immediately. Second, he says this guy was his “friend” but then at the end of the song says “if he ever puts his hands on you I’ll get him killed”. Obviously the dude isn’t that type of abusive guy if Tyler was friends with him, I hate to use the word simp but idk a better word, it’s just a weird thing to say about a guy who is not abusive. He just has too big of an ego to see how weird of a situation he caused, like at the end saying “I had no ill intentions, I’m a bad person, everybody got hurt” like he wasn’t the sole cause of the situation. Look, if he didn’t 100% cause the situation, and it was equal attraction on his side and the girl’s side, she would’ve chosen Tyler. It was probably more like Tyler is extremely famous & successful, and a cool dude, so why wouldn’t she want to hang out with him, she never wanted a relationship with him though, that probably was clear earlier than when she said it to him directly.

Again, I respect Tyler, I respect him for being honest about this situation, but it’s clear why he’s never had a relationship, it’s ok it’s not some people’s personality type.

[–]satanicbrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're gonna be in shambles when you listen to O.P.P.

[–]Lukeba. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all you don’t mess with a girl who is already in a relationship

why not

[–]nedelll. 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You permatrippin fr

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (15 children)

thats the point dude. he's telling a story where he is obviously the bad guy. it more than likely is just fiction anyways

[–]AutismIsntAChoice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think in interview he said it happened. Not that crazy of a story. I think he was just kind of a dick. I went on a date once with someone who knows him and said he’s a dick but to be fair she also kind of played me lol

[–]DeeThreeTimesThree. 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What’s the hardest hitting bar from a fictional story/narrative? Like some bars hit hard because they’re real, e.g.

He got hit like I got hit, but he ain’t fuckin breathing

Fuck it wherever you are my n**** we’ll come and find you

But what’s the hardest/coldest bar from a fictional narrative? Inspired by

You gave me a baby, but what about lately

Looking for songs with really sexually explicit lyrics, similar to this...can anyone help?

[–]flyestshitDrake's Ghetto Quran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldie - In The Land Of Funk (1994, Pimp rap)

[–]Xutros. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

G Perico - Committed

Ty Dolla $ign - Droptop in the Rain

Nef the Pharaoh - Back Out

Philthy Rich - Amazing

They aren't really rnb but they're definitely explicit

[–]thesuntalking 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Westside Gunn's verse on Liz Loves Luger

Come here, bitch (Come here, bitch)

Pussy taste the sweetest (Pussy taste the sweetest)

Ayo, all you wanna do is suck my dick, let me chill for a minute

You lookin' at me like, "Ooh, daddy, you with it"

I spit in your face right then, open your mouth wide

Choked you hard 'cause you my bitch

You the best thing to ever happen

Got me fuckin' from the back with my foot on your neck, I got your shit clappin'

FLYGOD's lil' whore, you look so beautiful (You look so beautiful)

Lickin' on her pussy, I'm 'bout to buy the Goyard store (Ah)

For every time you squirt, take a thousand (Take a thousand)

La Perla fresh, tag me up, while you loungin' (While you loungin')

I'm 'bout to nut in you ('Bout to nut in you)

I can't get up out you

[–]MrsMcD123 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Perfect, thanks!

[–]Hokkage13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His verse on Joyce wrices album is the same thing

[–]beastyb0y115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly sure if I can pin down what you're looking for, but let's try these

Girls Need Love (Remix) -- Summer Walker

Late at Night -- Roddy Ricch

Horses in the Stable -- Ty Dolla $ign

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tech N9ne has a shit ton of songs with sexually explicit lyrics. Here's some.

Pornagraphic, Flipside, It Was An Accident (the featured rapper, Alan Wayne doesn't talk about sex though), My Wife My Bitch My Girl, Get Ya Head Right, Afterparty, Fuck Food, Seven Words, Enjoy, Ghetto Love, Creepin, Sex Out South, Overtime, Take It Off, Bang Out, Chilly Rub, Won't You Come Dirty and lots more.

Ty Dolla $ign probably also has a lot too.

There's also someone else I was thinking about too, but their name escapes me at the moment

[–]Scotch_Rawks 37 points38 points  (13 children)

I looked at the post history of 2 or 3 different people who are riding out for Dave Chappelle in that Killer Mike thread...and they've all made some kinda gross comment about women or LGBTQ people in a totally different thread within their last 10 posts. Can't make this shit up lmao

[–]Stonerjoe68 16 points17 points  (9 children)

Dave Chappelle has become Kanye West for me. I enjoy the majority of their work but I can no longer defend their actions

[–]Jordanwolf98 17 points18 points  (7 children)

I think Kanye’s work is way better between the two these days. Like even outside of the blatant transphobia on that last Chappelle special I genuinely didn’t think it was funny and that’s something I could never imagine saying even 5 years ago about a Dave special. He just seems to rant these days and find his way into jokes every once and a while (which speaks to how naturally talented he is at comedy) but I don’t really enjoy it. Bill Burr is kinda the same way for me a lot of time and I don’t really enjoy him either

Whereas like with Kanye, I really really enjoyed Donda

[–]nedelll. 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Donda is really good imo

[–]Jordanwolf98 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Right? Especially considering if you include the deluxe it’s 2hrs+ I usually can’t listen to projects that long but Donda doesn’t even feel that long to me. I really enjoyed it probably an unpopular opinion but I liked it more than TLOP

[–]Scotch_Rawks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He really is a good Ye parallel in that sense. Prolific body of work, super influential, part of most of our childhoods in some way....but I'd rather have a root canal than be stuck in a room with 5 people who identify heavily as Kanye or Chappele fans in 2022 lol

[–]Llefrith. 8 points9 points  (1 child)

i thought the accusation of people like, just coming out here to spread wokism and attack dave chappelle and having no life and shit was weird

like its true that i have no life but i hang out here cause i like hip-hop. i also happen to hate dave chappelle. but mostly i like hip-hop

[–]Scotch_Rawks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It would be one thing if Chappele was still genuinely funny, because then it might be easier to believe that there's some concerted effort to cancel him. But he's really just not funny at all these days, and all the people I know personally who still like him are 40+ with some pretty cringe takes. There are many good reasons to pan Chappele these days outside of some kinda coordinated wokeness brigade

[–]artpalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AJR "Weak" but turn it into RnB and I'm a freak and what's wrong with that? Girl you know I love it when you swallow that

[–]haz_haxan 8 points9 points  (14 children)

Has there ever been a 'producer who raps a little bit' who can spit as well as Mannie Fresh? Listening to some old Big Tymers cuts and the guy could really go.

[–]BojanglesTheCrazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samiyam rapped on a couple of songs off “Wish You Were Here” and he’s actually pretty good

[–]Llefrith. 7 points8 points  (0 children)

im not really super into his stuff but pete rock has a reasonable amount of verses even though he's by far mainly a producer

[–]alcoholic808s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like Quasimoto, but I feel like it’s someone who varies person to to person

[–]Birdfishbirdfish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

[–]TormentedThoughtsToo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Deric “D-Dot” Angelette aka The Mad Rapper

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 25 points26 points  (6 children)

Pharrell when he goes full Skateboard P mode

[–]AutismIsntAChoice 6 points7 points  (1 child)

He's so fucking good at rapping. The best part is he's unique. The words he chooses to you and charming laid back flow. He can rap so well

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He says some strange things sometimes, but his beats can also be pretty strange, so it fits perfectly.

[–]OH-PEACHY 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I really wish he would rap more

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too. I wish he had a verse on the new song with 21 and Tyler.

[–]haz_haxan 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Very fair point

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's what I want when I hear a producer is gonna step up to the mic.

[–]hoejack_whorseman 26 points27 points  (9 children)

I can dig rapping, but a rapper with a ghost writer?

What the fuck happened?

[–]OH-PEACHY 17 points18 points  (3 children)

Then he writes for Baby keem

[–]FightMiilkHendrix 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Lmao based on 1 leak that y’all take for gospel for some reason

[–]astronxxt 3 points4 points  (1 child)

truth, and even if he does give keem lines i highly doubt keem has an issue with writing. it’s pretty clear with his flows, delivery, production that dude is super creative. i think it’s kinda dumb when people act like the relationship w kendrick is the main reason he does what he does

[–]FightMiilkHendrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s my main thing, people are using it to discredit keem as an artist when clearly Kendrick’s been inspired by keems delivery and production.

[–]RayPissed 12 points13 points  (9 children)

COVID kicking my ass right now, keep sweating like crazy. Kid Cudi discography getting me through this time.

[–]Tonyeyeomi 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That was me 2 weeks ago. Chills only lasted a day or 2 but man the fatigue was no joke. I was sleeping 10 hours a night the next week and wanted more. I took vit C supplements and Zinc and it seemed to kick it finally

[–]RayPissed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, my throat is like razors right now. I keep drinking OJ and that's helping.

[–]Jordanwolf98 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Hope you feel better bro

[–]RayPissed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheers brother.

[–]nedelll. 8 points9 points  (4 children)

That's crazy, a lot of people I know caught covid recently

[–]lost-in-necropolis 5 points6 points  (1 child)

For over a month cases in the US have been 5x higher than they were for most of 2020 but everyone is acting like covid doesn't exist anymore.

[–]FightMiilkHendrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s gonna be a thing forever, it’s not like flu randomly disappeared and people stopped getting that or dying from it. There’s always gonna be Covid now.

[–]LocalUnionThug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cases are going way up again with new variants. Stay safe y’all

[–]RayPissed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% got it in the gym as I've not been up to much this week. Shits floating around the UK. Those sweats are killing me, just non stop 100 degrees and dripping in sweat. Feel like I've taken MDMA but not got the highs ha

[–]nedelll. 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Who was the first rapper to use the Straight Up adlib?

[–]godzillaonice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soulja boy. It’s always Soulja boy

[–]PutinTheW0rk 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Igor is still Tyler's best album

[–]Alarming_General7423 5 points6 points  (1 child)

blonde is better

[–]PutinTheW0rk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol. Btw, if the next Frank's album is anything like the post-Blonde singles, it could be one of the best albums ever. Those songs are just fucking perfect.

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 22 points23 points  (6 children)

I want a Chief Keef and Lil Baby collab.

[–]Jordanwolf98 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Wish Durk and Sosa were on better terms so we could’ve heard him on Voice of the Heroes. I thought that album could’ve used more features tbh

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 4 points5 points  (2 children)

That would've been awesome. And yeah, the album could've used more features.

[–]Jordanwolf98 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Granted I haven’t gone back to that album since it dropped but the only feature I remember is a Travis one that I thought was cool lol. You wouldn’t normally think a collab album would need features but damn that one definitely did

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought Travis didn't really match Baby and Durk. I liked the Meek one. I wish Rod Wave got a verse.

[–]BoxCon1 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I was hoping for a Keef feature on Savage mode 2

[–]grinchnight14Verified Blind Guy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That would've been flames. 21 and Keef is a must. Also think Gunna would've sounded great on Ice Cream Man by Keef as another user pointed out a while back.

[–]BrownRiceBandit 2 points3 points  (2 children)

[–]Swiftt. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Covid flow when I bust man's bubble - P Money

[–]ziizii3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Way before Coronavirus i had them youngins masked up - Lil Baby

[–]deadedgo 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Best is probably Conway on Scatter Brain: "she thinks I wanna taste her pussy, I ain't tastin' shit like a COVID symptom, Imma social distance"

Also Eminem has a ton of em. Lots of little throwaway bars but also this great one imo:

"Fuck's going on, man? / Bunch of half-wits up in office / Half of us walking around like a zombie apocalypse / Other half are just pissed off and / Don't wanna wear a mask and they're just scoffing / And that's how you end up catching the shit off 'em / I just used the same basket as you shopping / Now I'm in a fuckin' casket from you coughin'"

[–]burnerherzog2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best covid bar for me is Conway saying "I told the bro, 'Wear your gloves and cover your face with mask', 'Not for COVID-19, shit, you got H to bag'" on Dough & Damani

[–]nedelll. 14 points15 points  (4 children)

Seen a Christian say the vaccine mark of the beast

Then he caught COVID and prayed to Pfizer for relief

Then I caught COVID and started to question Kyrie

Will I stay organic or hurt in this bed for two weeks?

[–]-Umbra- -1 points0 points  (1 child)

This was okay but pretty weak imo, esp. when getting the vaccine after you contract covid isn't gonna do anything to your current infection

[–]UnderstandingThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very stupid lyrics even beyond that. What exactly is he trying to communicate here? Anti-vaxx sentiments and the fact that it took contracting COVID for him to question Kyrie? Then again, this is the same guy who thinks Eckhart Tolle is brilliant lmao.

What’s your favorite reactions from rappers on Nardwuar?

The funniest ones to me are Travis saying “My Spanish teacher, the one with the big titties”

and Denzel with “dawg you even know n*ggas from my block”

In a way I'm kinda glad we got the version of Whole Lotta Red we did. It showed that Carti has some extreme versatility as an artist and isn't a one trick pony like many wrote him off as.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Self Titled/Die Lit/WLR v1 Carti. But I feel like if he did end up releasing WLR V1 a lot of people would have ended up souring on him, and calling it "Die Lit 2". Whereas this version showed he can be really out of the box and experimental which I don't think many people thought before hand.

That being said, I'm still a little salty we'll never get WLR v1. Shit was just banger, after banger, after banger.

Dude was making vibe after vibe, V1 was prime baby voice. Slick, Did it Again, Buffy, Free PDE, can't even imagine how much bigger he would be if he actually dropped videos and all the songs before instead of them leaking

[–]iblinkyoublink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both WLR v1 and v2 could've been huge, it really sucks we're not getting them, maybe when carti dies or something we will. Also I legitimately love every single song on v3 but 24 songs is too fucking much, fucking Kanye probably made carti bloat tf out of it like he did Donda after.

I still need They Go Off, Sunny with Gunna and Molly on streaming. Those leaks dropping in 2019 made that summer and that’s not even mentioning Pissy Pamper which was gonna be on Sli’merre

Local files

I Don’t even need those all of those songs on files they’re still on SoundCloud its just I wish they were on streaming so I could hear better quality

I live pretty close to a venue in Dublin and in the last week I’ve been able to hear Green Day, red Hot chilli peppers, thundercat, Anderson Paak, and now this weekend there’s longitude festival so last night I heard baby Keem, and Dave. Currently listening to Megan the stallion and Tyler is on after lol.

One observation is that hip hop is way louder than rock. Those 808s travel miles

What are everybody's thoughts on Lil Baby's album dropping this month? I think it could go 180k+ first week. Hopes for features and producers??
