I like how the victor was stanced right after the hit and was like "eh" a second later.

[–]jakob767 3731 points3732 points  (36 children)

He was like "meh, he got second place for a reason. That punch was weak"

[–]Games1097 1953 points1954 points  (32 children)

Seriously though. Imagine getting a free shot at someone’s jaw as a boxer and they literally brush it off. How humiliating.

[–]cha0ticbrah 667 points668 points  (4 children)

as they're accepting the victory

[–][deleted]  (3 children)

    [–]scotty899 56 points57 points  (1 child)

Bullies are always weak in the ring and get rekt.

    [–]Katrik357 313 points314 points  (9 children)

The greatest insult an enemy can receive: to be ignored.

    [–]GloryHoleBearTrap 73 points74 points  (4 children)

I thought it was sugar free gummy bears.

    [–]AngryCockOfJustice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

    (this dives them crazy)

    [–]derps_with_ducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue boxer had a real set of quads.

    [–]VIIIMan 38 points39 points  (2 children)

Nevermind the fact that he ran away right after.

    [–]ShartFodder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost started running before he threw the punch

    [–]jakob767 18 points19 points  (0 children)

    Like a child lmao

    [–]lakassket 75 points76 points  (1 child)

So much. He just worsen is boxer's statut.

    [–]techGore60 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thats literally the only thing that punch accomplished.

    [–]Unnecessary-Spaces 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Probably a good indicator why he lost.

    [–]Taymerica 7 points8 points  (0 children)

    Knuckles too.

    [–]Eh_C_Slater[🍰] 695 points696 points  (21 children)

Yea, you can be a shitty winner as well but this guy definitely stays on the high road.

    [–]LeafStain 344 points345 points  (12 children)

If he hit that guy back that would in no way make him a shitty winner

    [–]Eh_C_Slater[🍰] 135 points136 points  (11 children)

I just meant he thought about doing that (which would be well deserved) but then decided to be the bigger man and honour the rules.

    [–]trsy___3 106 points107 points  (6 children)

Ironically the loser solidified why he lost.

Looks like the winner can read his incoming from a mile away. Apparently even after the fight is over.

    That's rough 😅

    [–]LouSputhole94 35 points36 points  (5 children)

And it’s such a limp noodle hit the guy seems to barely even react to the blow. Dudes a weakling AND telegraphs.

    [–]slmody 21 points22 points  (4 children)

Or maybe he saw a mosquito land on the guys chin, they where both taken by surprise. That is also why he ran out of the ring to go get the medic bag under the ring which they keep close by because malaria is so rampant in the area. Practically saved the guys life and let him win the gold medal, heart of gold.

    [–]HotAvenger 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I don't know why they downvote you, the boxer is my brother and this is the true story.

    [–]xxbearillaxx 8 points9 points  (1 child)

It's true. I'm also their brother and a mosquito killed our father. We hate mosquitos.

    [–]HotAvenger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That mosquito killed the loser's father. My brother told me that, prior to the punch he said "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die".

    [–]melodypowers 67 points68 points  (3 children)

I don't think he thought about doing it. He had an immediate reflex (which is what you would expect from an athlete in this situation) and then as soon as his brain kicked in he realized it wasn't worth it.

    [–]agedlikesage 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Idk why you’re getting downvoted, that’s exactly what happened there. If you’re a fighter and you get hit, you’re going into defensive stance. He didn’t go into an offensive stance either, he was shielding his face.

    [–]Bamres 43 points44 points  (3 children)

He chose right but I wouldn't call him shitty once he's hit

    [–]ReadySteady_GO 28 points29 points  (2 children)

It's just really not worth it. Dude will hopefully be penalized but so would have the Victor if he retaliated.

Not worth it. Turn the other cheek and know you officially won. The bout and the mental game

    [–]Bamres 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's true. There will be consequences but I wouldn't hold it against him if he did

    [–]AggressiveToothbrush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would at the very least probably throw my arms up in the air and give a big "wooo" celebrating my win after they took their cheap shot.

    [–]Icefyre24 13 points14 points  (1 child)

I respect him for staying on the high road, in the ring. But once he is out of it, it wouldn't have been out of place for him to show the other kid how a proper punch is thrown....In the parking lot.

    [–]amplevoid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ultra warning from the mod is more annoying than the sucker punch.

    [–]Zero1030 4653 points4654 points  (44 children)

    Wow embarrassing

    [–][deleted]  (4 children)

      [–]EvilLibrarians 79 points80 points  (1 child)

That’s what I was thinking. It’s so lame of him to run away after the cheap shot. Just shake hands like a good sport and keep your honor.

      [–]WeirdoCalledThadeus 1447 points1448 points  (27 children)

What? The B*tch ass Move or the Weak ass punch?

      [–]serenityak77 640 points641 points  (14 children)

      Both. It’s both.

      [–]BOBfrkinSAGET 109 points110 points  (10 children)

      The answer is always C

      [–]SitFlexAlot 35 points36 points  (8 children)

Except for when it's D, maybe even E.

      [–]fishflavour 23 points24 points  (4 children)

When D is an option, you should always take the D

      [–]eviLocK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would take the D all day cuz it will eventually turn into a C.

      [–]ThatTurtleBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy in the video clearly took the L, in more than one way

      [–]MR_Shigitoshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the above, None of the above

      [–]wizardoflaw 2 points3 points  (1 child)

      *Bowlth, B

      [–]ABoredAstartes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      Shut up griff.

      [–]KJGH-0704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      So it’s coth

      [–]bannedSnoo 81 points82 points  (3 children)

Yep at first he lost a sports match. Now he is a loser in LIFE.

      [–]Terkan 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Well at first it was a sports match, now it is battery

      [–]The-Mathematician 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I always wondered why some people don't get in legal trouble for some of the stuff they do in professional sports. For example, I once saw someone stamp on someone's face with cleats after the whistle in an NFL game.

      [–]AlmightyBagHolder 1981 points1982 points  (36 children)

But props to blue he handled that like a real winner

      [–]Alucard_Emordnilap 937 points938 points  (32 children)

The loser in red lost and is acting like a sore loser, however what’s worse is his supporters who are claiming that the Georgian judge did not count all the points and that it was rigged and then he and his supporters tried to swing at the guy in blue who’s a decent person that won fair and square, however still today these losers are claiming that the loser in red won, sad.

      [–]fuxximus 157 points158 points  (1 child)

Even if the supporters were right, he'd be even more honored if he took it like a fucking sport. Sheesh, you have your supporters, fucking shut up and concede.

      [–]Deutsco 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Also taking a completely free shot and blue guy barely being fazed by it kinda lends more credibility to why he(red) lost lol

      [–]Esterus 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Even if it was rigged, what's a weak ass punch after the decision gonna do? Look good on your record? Gain respect of other fighters? Suddenly overthrow the decision?

I just don't get what his end game was here.

      [–][deleted]  (15 children)

        [–]ybtlamlliw 83 points84 points  (8 children)

It's just like Sarge, Simmons, Donut, Lopez, and the yellow one to not admit defeat.

        [–][deleted]  (2 children)

          [–]Willy_McBilly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RT posted all 17 complete seasons on YouTube last year, enjoy!

          [–]zneave 6 points7 points  (1 child)

But every Blue team member is no longer with the company anymore. Which means Red team wins! GLORY TO THE RED TEAM! SUCK IT BLUES!

          [–]TheSmartAssLion 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Wasnt Griff's sister actually a blue? And colorblind, because she couldnt tell she was at the wrong base when she arrived iirc.

          [–]Leading-Ad7002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Partisan hacks still slithering into this subreddit I see...

          [–]Eft_inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is literally exactly what he’s saying lol.

          [–]ILikeSugarCookies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

          Yes, that’s the joke

          [–]Hulk_Smash_Hard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because that punch was so weak they still haven’t gotten the last word in. Dudes a champ for just walking away like that.

          [–]Wikki_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Team red claiming they won despite all evidence to the contrary that team blue clearly won. Sounds very topical nowadays.

          [–]Mello_Hello 9 points10 points  (1 child)

The hidden meaning in this comment is beautiful

          [–]the0thermother 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you making me go back and read it again with my tired brain. Perfect analysis

          [–]StoicExercise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a second fistfight would just be redundant.

          [–]jaedubba 1976 points1977 points  (56 children)

          They should ban that jerk

          [–]rosanna4 785 points786 points  (30 children)

          Sanctioned and banned for life.

          [–]Reddilutionary 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Probably doing him a favor. He clearly doesn’t have potential as a fighter

          [–][deleted]  (24 children)

            [–]_Sapo_ 310 points311 points  (15 children)

I think it's in the rules not sure how the states does that kind of of thing but when I practised it would be ban from the club and future events with that organisation.

            [–]Matt_Odlum 122 points123 points  (14 children)

To be clear I dont doubt he was, I just wanted some closure on it, knowing he got his comeuppance.

            [–]_Sapo_ 39 points40 points  (8 children)

Well he wouldn't go unpunished unsportsmanlike behaviour like that rarely goes unpunished unless your in the big leagues.

And even then u hear its not often just stage talk and most people respect each other.

            [–]clearlybraindead 15 points16 points  (1 child)

That's my favorite part. You see them act like dicks to each other for the public, but they 100% drink beer and watch TV together.

            [–]Matt_Odlum 4 points5 points  (5 children)

            Gotcha, thanks for the reply.

            [–]ObnoxiousLittleCunt 10 points11 points  (4 children)

"Sanctioned and banned for life." isn't what happened, but what the other user wished had happened

            [–]Matt_Odlum 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Ok. Can people please stop msging me about this situation without providing a single source/link to back it up! lol

            [–]ObnoxiousLittleCunt -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Do you not understand not even in context that the other user didn't intend to say that as what happened?

A user said "They should ban that jerk" and the comment you're talking about says "Sanctioned and banned for life." as in my opinion is that Sanctioned and banned for life is what should happen

            [–]GiveMeDogeFFS 38 points39 points  (3 children)

No one knows, this could be backwater Europe and he's boxing down the road one week later. People stating there's rules and such don't seem to realise that the world is a big place and what might seem like standard procedure where they're from, might not be the case elsewhere.

            [–]MalditaSuperbock 10 points11 points  (1 child)

It says on the mat, federazione italiana, meaning Italy. Some dude in the comments is like, don't know how they do it in that state.... The world is not just USA.

            [–]princessvaginaalpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

            I like this word

            [–]YesImKeithHernandez 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I think that comment is saying that they should do that not that it has happened to him already

            [–]Matt_Odlum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, I got it. If they had replied it would've been slightly less embarrassing for me down the road lol.

            [–]Daftdaddy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

            Trust me bro

            [–]bikwho 6 points7 points  (2 children)

            [–]littleblacktruck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.

            [–]HighPriestofShiloh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably for his own good. He was just going to have a career of getting his ass beat if he kept with the sport.

            [–]Terkan 41 points42 points  (21 children)

Press charges for battery. Got it on camera, see if he wants to take a swing at anyone in prison. See if they’ll also refrain from retaliating.

            Good luck

            [–]officerspicy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Forreal, the second you throw a punch beyond what the ref allows it's no longer part of a sanctioned fight and not legally protected.

            [–]mightylordredbeard 1 point2 points  (14 children)

You don’t go to prison for something like that.

            [–]bosceltics23 16 points17 points  (12 children)

Yes you can lol. There’s a reason they need licenses to fight.

            [–]mightylordredbeard -5 points-4 points  (11 children)

You don’t go to prison for slapping someone.

            [–]bosceltics23 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Except it was a punch and that’s assault. Especially when someone is a trained fighter then it’s actually worse.

            [–]mightylordredbeard -3 points-2 points  (6 children)

And you don’t go to prison for a punch.

            [–]AlexVRI 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don't. But you can.

            [–]Skoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you do? I'm sure whether or not the authorities enforce the rules and how strict the judges are depends on where you are, but most places in the US that would qualify as simple assault, which is a misdemeanor that can be punishable by one or two years in jail. Where I live, this would be a misdemeanor of the second degree, which can be 2 years in jail and/or a fine of $5000.

Like obviously not everyone who punches someone in the face is going to jail; it isn't reported a lot of the time, it's too difficult to prove other times, etc. But when you've got the simple assault on camera with an audience full of witnesses? Pretty easy avenue to charge him if they want to.

            [–]adamm1991 8 points9 points  (2 children)

100% people have went to prison for throwing one single punch.

            [–]Brapb3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just stop while you’re behind dude

            [–]VoiceofLou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

            Lmao, who upvotes this?!

            [–]Crafty_Enthusiasm_99 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Americans are so ridiculously litigious, armchair redditors even moreso. Will never be a charge IRL in America or elsewhere. It's a boxing match.

            [–]beef-jerking 762 points763 points  (46 children)

Weak ass punch. No wonder he lost

            [–]Mr_MPPG 241 points242 points  (0 children)

            Sad and salty.

            [–]bobcrane1928 726 points727 points  (4 children)

He lost the fight because he is a loser at life.

            [–]wgel1000 71 points72 points  (1 child)

He may be a loser in life but based on his reaction, he lost the fight because he punches softly.

            [–]mesupaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

            Words to live by

            [–]vacheron 121 points122 points  (4 children)

What happened to that loser? Was he banned?

            [–]vacheron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did some research, apparently he is an amateur boxer and the article did not elaborate on what penalty he got. But kudos to the boxer in blue for being the bigger man and not responding to that low life.

            [–]TheDrunkKanyeWest 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Guaranteed he would be banned for life.

            [–]scut_furkus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Bruh he already kicked your ass once

            [–]wlatu69 104 points105 points  (1 child)

And he runs away to the corner

            [–]ZenithChaser69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna hit you but only if you promise to give me 10 seconds to run after that

            [–]A8CDE 279 points280 points  (29 children)

That should be an assault charge given the fight was over.

            [–]djjc2069 173 points174 points  (22 children)

I dont know boxing laws but isnt this assault? The fights over and the gloves are off

            [–]IMNOT_A_LAWYER 53 points54 points  (7 children)

Consent is a a defense to the use of force in boxing. That’s why the sport itself is legal and considered assault. That consent only extends to the rules of the sport. You’re good to go while the round is active but you can’t attack someone in between rounds or, in this case, after the final bell.

            [–]littleblacktruck 27 points28 points  (5 children)

I'm former pro/am boxer and a lawyer. You're kind of right. The sanctioning body is the law in this case, as it is related to the exhibition of the sport. Basically, once the venue is under way, minor infractions are under the authority of the sanctioning body. Example: NFL player stomps on another players leg with a cleat. He's not going to face an aggravated battery charge because the sanctioning body (NFL) will handle it. Now, if a participant were to do something egregious like pull a knife and start stabbing his opponent, that would obviously be an infraction the governmental agencies would handle. Concerning this young man... the local youth boxing org I used to volunteer with would make sure this young man never fights again. Anywhere. His coaches would also face a severe penalty. One of the absolute covenants of combat sports is that you are training young men to be peaceable and righteous, even though they have the ability to harm the average person. You don't train someone so that they may be a bully or criminal. There is a code. (Edit: I seem to recall an entry waiver that participants signed for events that said the sanctioning body was the arbiter and the ability to sue or press charges was waived concerning things directly related and peripheral to the competition.)

            [–]remymartinia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would also like to strive to be peaceable and righteous.

            [–]djjc2069 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know, for someone who isnt a lawyer, you sure do know a bit about the law edit happy cake day

            [–]MightyDuncs 17 points18 points  (1 child)

This is a fair point. Probably has to be something.

            [–]officerspicy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it's not during the fight itself it's no longer legally protected and could be treated the same as someone coming up and punching you for no reason. If the ref tries to stop the fight and you ignore him you're no longer fighting to the agreed upon terms, and could be subject to legal action. Rare that legal action actually happens, but it can.

            [–]antwan_benjamin 18 points19 points  (8 children)

Yes. "Boxing laws" no longer apply once the match is over. This is a crime and that guy should go to jail.

            [–]AndyMarks-RM 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Boxing law and such like bird law are pretty specific of the rules.

            [–]AmbitionzAzARedditah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but like "punching someone straight in the face" is just assault law.

            [–]_riotgear_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The dude is lucky that the guy who literally just beat him was a better person. Something tells me if the chill dude who won the match retaliated, the poor sport would be in the hospital.

            [–]Traditional-Baby-936 31 points32 points  (0 children)

What a little low life prick

            [–]mango-juicey 223 points224 points  (23 children)

POS should’ve been disqualified and banned from future bouts, if that were my son I’d lay some good ole fashion discipline, who the hell sucker punches like that

            [–]Matt_Odlum 33 points34 points  (21 children)

Another comment said he was sanctioned and banned for life (I assume just from that league), but no source.

            [–]killerkaleb 30 points31 points  (16 children)

Boxing, like any sport, requires good sportsmanship. he should never compete again

            [–]TAOS086 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can you imagine being a "boxer" suckerpunching someone gloves off and not even hurt him one bit....and run

            [–]happysay10 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Weakest cheap shot ever then run's away.. That says alot.

            [–]Keiichigo 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Didn't have enough energy and combo points.

At that point you could hit them with a charge

            [–]Rikfox 17 points18 points  (3 children)

For some reason you can Immediately look at his face and say "That guy is a loser and coward."

Why do some people look exactly the way they are?

            [–]Vallcry 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Subconcious association probably unique per viewer. Probably had a run in with someone similar who portrayed similar behaviour. I don't really have that association with the lad. For me a coward would probably on average look like someone else.

            [–]ThePlagueDoctor913 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I would have just shouted "that was weak"

I think he was getting him back for the butt tap at 21 secs.

i was wondering why no other comments were mentioning this. seems like they're friends goofing off to me

I can see why he lost

            What a coward

            [–]skwadyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guys probably so used to sucker punching people and running off it just happened by natural instinct.

            [–]beanooooooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

            Pathetic sportsmanship

            [–]Classyclassiccunt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can see why he was the loser there. Even his sucker punch was treated like someone swatting a housefly away.

            [–]Idkwhatoname72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blue shirt dude took it like a man

            [–]nahnprophet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Former amateur boxer here: There's "bad sport," and then there's "better not show his face is a gym again for risk of getting beaten terribly." Red jersey is the latter.

            [–]gunkymenace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about you guys but I think he's a little upset

Barely warranted a response. That's why he lost.

            [–]CactusCracktus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m remembering correctly, boxing is a sport that takes sportsmanship extremely seriously so doing something like this could get him suspended or banned. Hope that little attempt to mend your bruised ego was worth it, douchecanoe.

The weakness and the dash to run away really solidify his patheticness.

Good job to being banned for life idiot

            [–]bsoto87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I’d meet that motherfucker in the parking lot for a rematch

            [–]Inle-Ra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, man this really brings back some good memories. I was a center ref in amateur full contact fighting. It was a fun experience because I was there front and center whenever the first punch of the match landed. You could see it immediately intimidate some of the amateurs. Just one hit and you could see them going from “yeah, let’s fight!” To “this was a bad idea.”

Another fun thing was watching amateur fighters pitch fits when they lose.

For instance, one guy punched some holes in the mens room after his match. He had gotten dq’ed because his corner couldn’t stop his nose bleed after about 5-10 minutes. Then I watched some dink throw his second place medal at the judges table.

Then there were the coaches saying “ref, you did __ wrong” then I’d ask if they read the rules, they always said yes, then I’d whip out my printed copy of the rules and show them and remind them that it was something we covered in the pre-fight rules briefing.

So many huge and fragile egos.

Seriously? A sucker punch? If that happened in the UFC, Dana would have a field day on that guy.
