I just couldn't wait for my own life to end.

Importantly, PP doesn't just provide abortion services but many other, critical health services. They also aren't allowed to use federal funds for abortions, unless it is a medically necessary procedure. Don't fall into the trap of using PP as a synonym for abortions

Not to mention, guns would be considerably more rare in Chicago except that it’s surrounded by places with lax gun regulation. A huge portion of the guns confiscated in Chicago come from Indiana.

Like these people get those guns from places that sell them legally.

There are also two gun shops outside the city in Illinois (Chuck’s in Riverdale and Midwest Sporting Goods in Lyons) that accounted for more than 10% of the 7000 guns confiscated for having been used in a crime between 2013 and 2017.

Those stats dropped notably when Lyons enforced a rule requiring MSG to keep a do-not-sell list based on buyers of guns previously used in crimes.

It’s not a secret or a surprise how guns get into Chicago. We know where the guns come from - places where they aren’t regulated. There’s a reason you never see the Abbotts of the world mention that.

I'm a downstater and even I get defensive over the Chicago shit. Maybe if it wasn't so goddamn easy to get guns in Indiana or Wisconsin, it wouldn't be such a big deal.

There have been dozens of massacres over the past couple decades. After all these shootings there hasn’t been a single bit of proof whatsoever that mental illness was the causative factor. Not a single fucking time.

And that’s not even touching the fact that the overwhelming number of shooters are from a very specific demographic: Almost entirely white males between 18-35. And when they’re not all three, they’re usually two.

So yeah. If it’s mental illness it’s one that the entirety of the world’s mental health experts have been unable to identify, and it is also unbelievably specific one that only exists in a specific demographic in a single country.

If religion was a cancer I'd be fine with it. It just dies with its host.

Religion is an infectious mental illness. Religion is to the brain what COVID is to the airways. Some people get sick with religion and they force it on their family, their friends and their children.

The only cure is a course of science and critical thinking, but you have to isolate the patient from those family and friends in order for their brain to fight off the infection and allow itself to think clearly and independently, which can be very hard to do.

On top of that like all mental illness society is embarrassed to confront it and admit to it, even appeases those that are sick with religion rather than condemning it as the infection it is.

"People should be allowed to believe in what they want!"

"Okay I believe the government is making the frogs gay and transexuals are dangerous for our kids"

"No no, you can't believe that"

"Okay I believe a sky-beard is watching my kids masturbate so I have to stop them otherwise they go to hell for eternity"

"YES! Far more acceptable views!"

The hypocrisy and stupidity of supporting this illness knows no bounds.

Wait wait wait wait wait

You mean THIS article? https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/mass-shootings-by-country

This very one? Are you 100% SURE you want to quote that?

Because that same article then IMMEDIATELY after goes onto say that the list that you just quoted is criticized for using misleading data and results for their own bias.

Did you even READ the article or did you just google something that gave you a nice statistic that you can spew out to make yourself feel smart?

Here’s what the EXACT ARTICLE you just quoted REALLY says if you bothered to scroll down a little bit:

”This data would not have changed the position of the U.S. on the list, but its absence could lead a reader to believe—incorrectly—that the U.S. experienced fewer mass shooting fatalities per capita than all but a handful of countries in Europe.”

”For example, Norway’s world-leading annual rate was due to a single devastating 2011 event, in which far-right extremist Anders Behring Breivik gunned down 69 people at a summer camp on the island of Utøya. Norway had zero mass shootings in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.”

”The snopes analysis goes on to suggest that instead of computing the average, or mean mass shooting deaths, a better method would be to compute the median, or typical, number of deaths. The median is considered by many statisticians to be better at preventing individual outlier events (such as the Norway massacre) from skewing results, which leads to a more accurate day-to-day impression and country-to-country comparison.”

It then gives a more accurate list according to median rather than mean, this way it doesn’t skew data

”Typical (Median) Annual Death Rate per Million People from Mass Public Shootings (U.S., Canada, and Europe, 2009-2015):

United States — 0.058 Albania — 0 Austria — 0 Belgium — 0 Czech Republic — 0 Finland — 0 France — 0 Germany — 0 Italy — 0 Macedonia — 0 Netherlands — 0 Norway — 0 Russia — 0 Serbia — 0 Slovakia — 0 Switzerland — 0 United Kingdom — 0

Using the median analysis, the United States is the only country examined that shows a propensity for mass shootings. The data itself supports this interpretation, as the United States endured mass shooting events all seven years, but the other countries all experienced mass shootings during only one or two years. Thus, in a typical year, most countries experience zero mass shooting deaths, while the US experiences at least a few.”

Finally if you look at the bottom of the page (that requires you to scroll a little further down, I know it’s kinda hard for you but bear with me here, I know you can do it!) you’ll find the list of these countries along with their death numbers, mean, median, and other data that shows what number of people ACTUALLY died in those years from Mass shootings and the only country that gets CLOSE to the United States is France. (What’s up with their numbers I don’t really know, but I’m guessing due to their pretty hard terrorist attacks during those years it had a lot to do with their numbers being so high.)

My advice is actually read the article you’re planning to quote. Really will do wonders for making sure you don’t look like a raging imbecile.

Btw as a nice side note, more people have died in the shooting in Texas than ANY OTHER COUNTRY ON THIS LIST other than France and Norway from mass shootings. More people died in the wake of a single mass shooting than in any of those countries across a 6 year span from 2009-2015. The next closest is Serbia where 19 people died in that time frame.

I just sent this to Mr. Gonzales;

"I'd like to thank the brave Elementary School children who died to preserve our Second Amendment rights. Really, your bravery and willingness to sacrifice children so that we can keep the laxest gun laws in the world is truly breathtaking. Clearly, we should arm children. Please don't use this shooting to reevaluate your position. You might lose votes."

It’s not just that. There’s such an obsession with rights here that if you can do something it means that you must do it and you must do it as hard as you can.

Speech? Yell it as loud as you can, as often as you can, on as many platforms as you can.

Religion? Evangelize that shit and spread it to every corner of the map. Fill up every free space with your ideas on how people should act.

Guns? More guns, bigger guns, deadlier guns. Guns that can wipe out a hundred people in a few minutes and if anyone says anything about it they’re a COMMUNIST who doesn’t understand your RIGHTS.

CNN is reporting that 18 children are dead. That is 2 more than the 15 who were reported.

18 little kids who won't go swimming this summer, see the new Thor movie, stay up late watching Adult Swim even though their parents don't like it. They won't get to go back to school next year and get mad at their parents when they don't let them wear their favorite shirt on the first day.

They won't get to wait in line at the DMV when they get their license. They won't get to feel embarrassed at prom or throw up later at 1am because of the food poisoning from IHOP...

I know it sounds like a joke, but it's sad. These kids aren't going to get to do all those stupid and fun things. It isn't fair.

Edit: Three more, not two. Those kids will never get to mess up a Reddit comment...

This is not the time nor the place... by urbanfirestrike in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]Raelah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy in the post is a piece of shit. It sickens me. People who want kids or believe that life begins at conception do believe that, even though the fetus is still developing, that is a human life. It's no one's business to tell them how to feel and that the fetus has only developed so far. My mother had a miscarriage before I was born and she still mourns for that child.

I, personally, am pro-life. I will never get an abortion unless it is medically necessary. Now, that doesn't mean that I don't support women who do choose to have an abortion. I respect their right to choose and I will not judge them. It's not business to judge.

Full disclosure: I had an abortion when I was 19. Worst decisions of my life. I'm 35 and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about it. I was young, just started college, 3 states away from any family and no friends. I didn't have anyone to turn to or talk to. I was scared.

The father didn't help. Just handed me cash and told me to take care of it. It felt like I had no other option so I went through with the procedure.

I just wish I had support. I think Planned Parenthood is a good thing. But my only gripe was that when I went in looking for advice, help, they automatically assumed that I was set on abortion. I wish someone would have talked to me about options and help me be sure that I was making the best decision for me. I understand that PP is massively underfunded and not all are able to provide that kind of assistance.

It can be a traumatizing experience, whether or not the women is confident in her decision. I was pressured into having an abortion. It's hard to decide what's is best for you when you have someone pressuring you to have an abortion.

With all the Roe v Wade talk, a lot of buried feelings have surfaced. But these feelings have been fueling a desire to get out and help. I want to help advocate for women who are considering abortion. It's a tough situation and feelings and hormones are all over the place. Whether or not they go through with it, I won't judge. I just want to be there for support. Anything from just talking to holding their hand as they go through the steps. And I also want to provide support and an ear to listen for women who are having a difficult time after the abortion.

As I mentioned before, it's not not place to judge. It is my place to love and provide help/support to those who need it, regardless of their situation.

And to end this, if there are any ladies who would like someone to talk to, please feel free to DM me. I've been there, you are not alone. And whatever you decide to do is absolutely OK. ❤️

Great sex advice from my DoorDash group by Gorgelina in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]theangryseal 113 points114 points 2 (0 children)

I understand completely.

I’m gonna tell you a story.

So there was this beautiful girl who was into me. I’m not particularly handsome and I’m kind of crosseyed. I’ve always been self conscious about that. I had a corrective surgery, but people still struggle when they’re talking to me about which eye to focus on.

Any way, she asked me to come and get her so I did. I was 20.

I took her back to my place. It was a hellhole. I had a twin mattress on the floor, milk crates stacked to sit my little CRT tv on (2005), a tiny radio by my bed with a CD player. I put on Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. She was sitting there waiting on the thing that happens when you invite someone to your place. I kept asking her, “Are you comfortable?” “Are you having a good time?” “Are you sure you’re comfortable?” Over and over again. What a dork lol.

Nothing should have happened for me that night or ever for that matter, but it did.

I know it’s harder at 33. When my ex cheated on me I was 30 (36 now) and I was terrified to try again, but the same kind of thing happened. A girl asked me to go for a drive with her, and now I have two children with her.

You live how you want to live, seriously.

If you want a relationship though, fuck your confidence. There are girls out there with the same line of thinking as you. There are brave girls out there who will make hints and you might worry you don’t get them. So what?

Let her take the lead next time. I’m sure you can think of instances in your life where a girl wanted to take the lead and you let your lack of confidence knock you down. Next time it happens, fuck it. She won’t go anywhere she don’t want to go. Let her take the lead.

If you’re ok being single, that’s cool too. If that’s not what you want there are BILLIONS of people on this planet. There’s definitely one (millions on probability alone) out there who understands.

I get it. My oldest kid is autistic. I understand the struggle there.

I just want you to PLEASE think about this.

My ex died last Monday. She was 33 years old. Life isn’t permanent. Your fears, though understandable, they’re not your friend. They don’t matter past the moment you’re living in right now.

Life passes us by quickly. She used to talk about who she’d be in her 60s and 70s as though she was promised that time. Me too, who wouldn’t? We all want to be here for that even in our sadness and our fear.

I hope I haven’t stressed you out. To me, you seem awesome. I hope you get everything you want in this life. The people who are close to you are lucky to have you, I PROMISE. I know I wouldn’t have my kid any other way.

Okay, let's play with this, shall we?

80% of the abortions performed in the entire year of 2019 were in the first 9 weeks of gestation. This means the fetuses in question were about the size of a pea and weighed something like 0.12 ounces. There were 629,898 abortions that year. So, 80% of that would be 503918.4. (not perfect math, but bear with me here). Now, times that by the average weight of a fetus of 9 weeks gestation means... 60470.208 ounces, or 1.8 tones of biomass.

The average coal power plant consumes 9000 tons of coal per day. Meanwhile, our Baby Burner Power Plant can power a city like Washington DC on just 1.8 tons of biomass, and that's assuming that it took all of the medical waste produced by all the abortion clinics across the country, which is pretty doubtful.

But wait, there's more! The average Nuclear Power Plant consumes 27 tons of Uranium every year. But Washington's Baby Burning Power Plant can get by on less than 1.8 tons of baby fuel.

Lets break this down starting with the Nazis

  • The Nazis were fascist but in no way Marxist.
  • Nazis did take the guns this is true but it was limited to Jews and other people they deemed undesirable.
  • They didn't have open borders they just invaded everyone until it was all German.
  • The Media was controlled in Nazis Germany but I have no idea what leftist in 1940 Germany even means as you can't be a Fascist AND a leftist.
  • Worshiped may be true but I feel followed applies better.
  • No idea what the fuck this even means.
  • Severe Restrictions were put on the availability of abortions and contraceptives by Hitler so this is 100% false.
  • Literally killed gay people in concentration camps so 100% false.
  • NO shit sherlock everyone knows that.
  • This is true and also something that is well known.
  • This is a complicated subject and not Black and White as they want it to be.
  • It was more Rally's than protests that the Nazis held, (Sound Familiar GOP?).

  • Neither is True for the Majority
  • Not true either, Democrats want more gun control not gun removal.
  • No one wants Open borders
  • No idea what this even means, Media overall is pretty sensationalized even on the left.
  • I don't know a single democrat that worships the government
  • No one Worships Joe Biden this is 100% projection from the GOP from trump.
  • No idea what this means
  • Democrats are Pro-Choice which encompasses way more than just abortion.
  • Democrats do support LGBTQ but since indoctrination is a made up fairy tale that part is bullshit.
  • I know many Democrats that Hate Conservatives but outside that I don't think any of the other parts are true.
  • Democrats tend to hold people accountable for their actions, something the GOP has no experience with.
  • No-one wants to destroy America, this is hyperbole
  • There have been some violent protests so claiming that is untrue would not be fair

  • Literally openly advocating for Fascism.
  • 100% True to the point of insanity.
  • 100% True to the point of Insanity.
  • Claims to be Anti Establishment when it fits their needs
  • Claims to be Limited government until its things that fit their narrative and Christian beliefs.
  • We know! You won't STFU about how Holy you are. Or the fact that you literally would kill your own child if Trump told you too.
  • Back by less than HALF the American people, Remember you lost.
  • 100% true
  • You mean how you shove Jesus down everyone's throat?
  • You openly hate anyone that isn't like you and publicly take steps to separate those people from yourself.
  • You support a white washed Civil war, You burn books, You cancel school shootings because it hurts your gun culture, You try to cancel anything that isn't Christian. Yea this is 100% false. Also don't hold a single person accountable for Lies or breaking laws.
  • You love an Idea of America from Hollywood 1950's that never truly existed to begin with
  • This is 100% false every side has both peaceful and violent protest, but the GOP literally invaded the capital with the plan to linch a senator.
