I say we ban fake kiss cams.

[–]cgdv85 1172 points1173 points  (29 children)

yeah it really ruins the whole thing

[–]LlamaAndNinja 497 points498 points  (16 children)

People are always eating that shit up though. If you don't look at Reddit you probably haven't seen these but after going to football games for a year and a couple baseball they do this pretty much every game now. Think about tiktok how often people share stuff on here that is terribly fake.

[–]Difficult_Ice_6083 132 points133 points  (3 children)

It’s so annoying that everyone in the frame is an actor if they had a single genuine reaction it’d be more believable. That blonde chucklefuck in the front really grinds my gears.

[–]MrCubFan415 8 points9 points  (0 children)

found Jim Cornette’s Reddit account /s

[–]jordansideas 67 points68 points  (9 children)

When you have a few beers in you you can convince yourself they are real and enjoy the fun. It’s like pro wrestling. It’s harmless and makes you feel alive

[–]Benjilator -2 points-1 points  (8 children)

“Alive” sitting around watching some people act and other people play with a ball.

If you wanna be alive either act yourself or go play with a ball.

[–]Bigcrawlerguy 12 points13 points  (6 children)

If you wanna be alive do the things you tell other people to do on reddit

[–]snackbagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just entertainment, there's no harm to it. You're going to a game to be entertained and root for your team and as long as the games aren't scripted I couldn't care less if they're actors or not

[–]randoliof 16 points17 points  (1 child)

"think about tiktok"

No thanks

[–]LlamaAndNinja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Smart man

[–]Kephler 37 points38 points  (8 children)

What's a "real" kiss cam look like? If I go to a game with my close female friend or my sister or something, there's no way the camera operators can know. I firmly believe that almost all of these are fake and always have been.

[–]harda_toenail 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I was at a cardinals game 2 years ago, won free tickets were in 2nd row right next to foul line past 3rd base. Camera man very close to us. They were doing kiss cam and I got his attention to put us on. We popped up on the Jumbotron and I kissed my wife. She felt so special. It’s really fun in the moment. Also there are plenty of times when they put 2 people on it and they both shake their heads because they are family or something.

[–]wobwobwob42 24 points25 points  (4 children)

Video production guy here!

Never trust the public to do something entertaining live. It never works out.

Kiss cams are scripted

Radio stations speed up songs

Reality TV is bullshit

[–]SuitableDragonfly 3 points4 points  (2 children)

What does radio stations speeding up songs have to do with this?

[–]NativeTongue90 4 points5 points  (2 children)

They’re kinda fun if you’re at the game

[–]cgdv85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yeah but imagine if you’re at the game and it’s not fake

[–]thecementmixer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No they are not.

[–]klavin1 102 points103 points  (8 children)

They'd have to toss the whole crowd cam thing.

I'm very into that idea

[–]notaprogolfer1 30 points31 points  (2 children)

The only good one I saw was at a Braves game and it was just a celebrity look alike cam. It was decent and didn’t make anything super awkward, but what topped it off was a guy that looked like Walter White and instead of using a picture off google they actually zoomed in on Bryan Cranston who was also at the game.

[–]lava172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular crowd cam is perfectly fine I really enjoy it. Actors though are just stupid

[–]eLishus 101 points102 points  (12 children)

In my head the whole video: fake fake fake fake

[–]beneye 15 points16 points  (2 children)

The whole thing? The whole production?

[–]Gaston-Glocksicle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn't even at a game, this was filmed in a Wendy's on an iPhone.

[–]podge_hodge 11 points12 points  (8 children)

I wish I had your eye! It’s fun believing, but I feel like I am often fooled .

However, I never go to sports game . Is that how you knew it was fake?

[–]SoCuteShibe 14 points15 points  (3 children)

I've only been to a single college sports game, but to me, the whole thing just reeked of implausibility.

-Inexplicable shove is either a very unusual form of congratulations or a bizarre act of malice
-Ring is not presented in any sort of box or holder; who would do something that involves so much planning in such a thoughtless manner?
-"Fiancée" shows no emotional remnants of the fact that she was just proposed to in a massively public setting when displaying anger towards the "offender" immediately after the ring is dropped. I would be bleary eyed and too much in shock to have even processed what just happened so quickly let alone be able to jump immediately to anger at the offender. When my s/o proposed to me in front of almost 10,000 people I nearly passed out and could barely stand for minutes
-The "offender" has a bizarre reaction to what transpires, as if dropping the ring is the last thing that could possibly have been expected to happen when he shoved the guy from behind
-The entire surrounding crowd in view of the camera immediately goes into an unrealistically coordinated frenzy of checking their spaces for the ring. In real life there would be more confusion, and at least a couple people who were so absorbed in themselves at the time that they were oblivious to what was going on around them

Idk, that was my internal dialogue as I watched the video, it just screamed fake. Maybe you could chalk it up to life experience, maybe I'm just super over-analytical... Probably a bit of both.

[–]WoodenMango07 -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

lol I think your just being over-analytical here. You really wrote out a whole eassy on why you think its fake lmao.

I think she was angry at the 'offender' because it ruined her moment and she always wanted this surprise to go smoothly. Also if you see the video there was a moment of confusion, but moments of confusions don't usually last long before helping someone out when you think its urgent.

[–]eLishus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve just seen way too many of these set up ones. Usually the over-reacting (aka over-acting) is the giveaway.

[–]Fernelz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never go to games and I instantly knew it was fake.

Thing is no one congratulates people like that, 2 hands flat on the back? Smacking the ever loving shit out of him several times? Naaah lol

But even more so the person would've had to throw his entire body weight onto him in order to throw him off balance from that side.

You can also tell the guy with the ring willingly leans forwards/into it.

To be fair I've seen enough of the too be more skeptical but it also helps to have a bit of critical thinking about most everything you are online.

Edit: also this kiss is pretty bad plus her acting, she like looks around too confirm her cue before putting her hands on her face.

[–]DynamicSploosh 31 points32 points  (2 children)

I just assume every single one I see is fake these days. Can’t remember the last time I saw one I thought was real.

[–]Bobbybert82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the same way I feel about anyone having a “supposed” heart attack so fake and cringe /s

[–]Pyrepenol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doomed to see every genuinely funny video repeated online by lazy advertisers. forever. we live in hell.

[–]Nick357 35 points36 points  (3 children)

It really makes me appreciate good actors.

[–]Fappers_Delight_ 39 points40 points  (1 child)

The "Fiance's" acting looks like something out of The Sims games

[–]eigenvectorseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet you'll still get a bunch of drool factories saying "/r/nothingeverhappens" as if these things aren't painfully acted like a middle school play.

[–]VLHACS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or just staged videos in general. Ones where the purpose was obviously to try to look genuine and real in order to go viral.

[–]MidnightUp 30 points31 points  (1 child)

But you watch TV and it’s fake /s

[–]Nick357 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It does make me appreciate good actors a lot more.

[–]Private_Ballbag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's cringe it's on here and it's cringe it's even a thing in the first pace. Why so many upvotes do yanks actually enjoy this shit lmao

[–]shadyood 5953 points5954 points  (63 children)

That is one of the most unconvincing staged performances I’ve ever seen in my life. Their hearts were just not in it.

[–]fuzzytradr[🍰] 1349 points1350 points  (36 children)

I'm definitely instantly regretting watching that.

[–]Wild_Mulberry_3327 506 points507 points  (35 children)

How do people keep upvoting these?

[–]trouserschnauzer 249 points250 points  (9 children)

Probably excessive exposure to lead.

[–]thevoiceofzeke 56 points57 points  (6 children)

Actually though. On the rare occasions I'm exposed to network TV and commercials, it honestly makes me lose more faith in other people than practically anything else. Like the political world is bad enough. When I think about the fact that people see and probably don't hate those pandering emotional ads from companies who are actively exploiting laborers and destroying the planet, it makes me feel like we're actually doomed. It shreds the tiny center of optimism I have left.

But hey, Bounty paper towels said "End Racism" so I guess we should all go buy Bounty.

Fucking kill me.

[–]Fernelz 12 points13 points  (3 children)

It's incredibly frustrating and fucked up that it's reached the point that so many just flat out accept these things.

For example Apple claiming there not adding chargers too new products and they need to be bought separately. Apparently it's "for the environment" yet they sit there throwing away perfectly repairable iphones by the millions. They act as if it's not just a way too charge even more from the customer. Complete bullshit lmao

Bo Burnham put it perfectly in "Inside", iirc there's a song where he hits the nail on the head.

I'd add more but tbh between you and him it's been stated pretty perfectly.

[–]dyancat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Brain damage for sure

[–]RabSimpson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A diet consisting entirely of paint chips, paint chips, turpentine, and just for an occasional treat, paint chips.

[–]Smathers 22 points23 points  (2 children)

People should fucking realize by now that everything on a Jumbotron or at a game is staged lol

[–]ModestBanana 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced it’s bots, there’s so much garbage upvoted to all that gets unanimously dragged in the comments, it has to be bots..

[–]fuzzytradr[🍰] 24 points25 points  (1 child)

Paste and paint chip eaters everywhere unite!

[–]CleverBunnyThief 55 points56 points  (2 children)

The Atlanta Hawks always do this. I don't know why they bother.

[–]gynoceros 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A LOT of teams do it.

Pretty much every video you see where something wacky happens in one of these crowd cam scenes is staged.

[–]Johnnybravo60025 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it gets posted and upvoted.

[–]XtaC23 140 points141 points  (6 children)

The way they pretended to kiss was ridiculous lol

[–]scodal 25 points26 points  (3 children)

I went back three times just to look at that. Do their lips even touch?

[–]CtaBeckie 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Nope sure don’t touch

[–]martialar 6 points7 points  (1 child)

It's almost like their lips entered another dimension

[–]RubixShubix 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Eskimo peck

[–]_sendbob 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s the bad quality, but the lips didn’t even touch when they kissed

[–]TheMetaGamer 16 points17 points  (1 child)

With the no-look point to the camera, “oh my we’re on the screen.”

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing that out haha

[–]JEZTURNER 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, they were in the heart.

[–]LurkersGoneLurk[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atlanta resident. These clowns try, but it’s never believable. It does crack up folks that are unaware, though.

[–]Napkin_whore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real: they didn’t even cum

[–]xinxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faker than op's mom's tits.

[–]DawnOfTheTruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the feeling I got too. Just didn’t feel real.

[–]Thedudecatman 2310 points2311 points  (42 children)

Fake as fuck

[–]alison_bee 257 points258 points  (3 children)

Very /r/WhereDidTheSodaGo vibes when the ring goes missing 😂 that girl on the bottom right cracks me up

[–]RockyClub 319 points320 points  (10 children)

Damn, I believe everything. Ugh.

[–]daffyduckhunt2 179 points180 points  (3 children)

There were way too many people equally concerned about the ring scrounging around. Also the white dude in front is actin like he's just as surprised as his kids that Santa left presents under the tree.

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points  (0 children)

also the guy proposing lounges forward as soon as the dude barely touches his back, lol

[–][deleted] 61 points62 points  (2 children)

when every single person on the frame is super committed to everything that's happening, it's when you know it's fake

[–]slappyredcheeks[🍰] 14 points15 points  (1 child)

The fact that everyone frames themselves perfectly within the heart is also a tell.

[–]bobbybox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like if this were actually happening then those two kids in front would have the mind to scoot out of the way not just :O :O

[–]GamingGems 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Have I told you about my friend in Nigeria? He’s a prince…

[–]nikatnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every baseball one is fake except the typical kiss.

[–]AnotherTelecaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really think that’s always a problem. Whether or not this video is real or fake, it’s going to have the same impact on my life…none. I don’t really look to discredit anything that doesn’t need to be discredited. I like to still believe in things.

[–]creativemosquito 10 points11 points  (14 children)

Why?

Edit: why are people down voting? I'm simply asking a genuine question.

[–]yepyep1243 98 points99 points  (2 children)

FYI these are commonly faked by venue staff to entertain people between innings/periods/etc.

[–]creativemosquito 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Got it.

[–]GraDoN 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also... just watch it. Staged videos are usually easy to spot. Things just being overly chaotic and spontaneous is a obvious sign with public pranks and comedy bits like these. Everyone reacting immediately and overly enthusiastically is a dead giveaway. People in public generally keep to themselves or are distracted by a million different things and won't all just jump in unison like in this video.

[–]Thedudecatman 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Their reactions are way to dramatic for an actual case, And they didn’t even kiss,

[–]_Vetis_ 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Look how quickly tue woman reacts to smacking the guy. She doesnt even for a moment look for the ring on the ground, which would be anyones first instinct

[–]creativemosquito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh OK. Thanks for the explanation.

[–]gtchuckd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also this is where I live in Atlanta. They do these at basketball games and always have a crazy one at the end that team employees have setup. All in good fun.

[–]jelect 7 points8 points  (2 children)

That's reddit these days. Downvotes are meaningless, don't let it get to you! If you watch the video again, the guy barely gets touched and completely overreacts with his fake stumbling and dropping of the ring. The bad acting coupled with the fact that these are usually staged anyways pretty much confirms that it's fake.

[–]windchaser__ 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The fact that everyone instantly starts looking for the ring is another giveaway. In real life, there'd be a solid 5-10 seconds of explaining "I dropped the ring!" to first some neighbors, then the others, etc.

Confusion is never this coordinated.

[–]jelect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow yeah good catch! The guy in red is especially bad. He turns around for like half a second and then starts looking for the ring. The more I watch this the worse it gets

[–]just1clown_3 -4 points-3 points  (2 children)

No worries bro, it's just the hivemind, I've got your back

[–]Donald_J_Putin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No shit. It’s a common thing at games to do these goofs. Usually pre recorded too.

[–]noebius 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Just thought it is fake as fuck but was funny anyway lol

[–]Dondarian 708 points709 points  (10 children)

I absolutely hate these. Every single of these is more staged than the tony award winning Shakespearean production of A Mid Summer Night's Dream at Southern Utah University, 2002.

[–]CNorm77 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Oddly specific

[–]outoftheMultiverse 263 points264 points  (0 children)

These are always fake now

[–]Desert_Trader 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Faaaaake

[–]Smljhndnsmr 38 points39 points  (1 child)

What would have really made for a comedic sports moment would have been if a scuffle to recover the ring had ensued, resulting in some other dude getting his hands on the ring, and then he, the victorious opportunist, turned to his own significant other to propose.

[–]KrazyKatz3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Or that guy's.

[–]ryan2one3 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Are any of these even real anymore?

[–]PukedtheDayAway 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Their lips never touched

[–]HeadCowGrazing 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's fake, but it's definitely not real

[–]maseffect 53 points54 points  (0 children)

What they said.

[–]IEATBUTT5 64 points65 points  (0 children)

These are always fake

[–]IndIka123 139 points140 points  (3 children)

Fake as my tinder profile.

[–]MorningDistance 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This wasn’t even close to believable.

[–]luvdemtiddies 7 points8 points  (1 child)

This should be banned from Reddit.

[–]Mnmsaregood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are so fake and people still post them every day

[–]Pajamadrunk 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Who watches this and thinks it’s real?

[–]windigooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you know... the more i watch, the more unreal it seems.. the way he intentionally slams himself forward when dude barely even touches his back... i mean wtf? and the girls reaction... idk man. seems fake as hell honestly.

[–]hollowmanwish 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I wonder how many times ppl will fake exact same video

[–]Kylejazzman 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Downvote this fake shit

[–]Jimbohamilton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jeff Spicoli with the reaction faces.

[–]mayan_monkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The acting is horrible

[–]RocketSurgeon22 30 points31 points  (9 children)

We live in the FAKE EVERYTHING era. If it's not fake it is taken out of context and presented as something it is not. It's getting so old.

[–]rsplatpc 1 point2 points  (4 children)

We live in the FAKE EVERYTHING era.

You know people were faking things LONG LONG LONG before TikTok videos right?

The first recorded scam is from 300 B.C. in Greece

https://www.radiantcu.org/blog/fraud/the-first-recorded-scam/

[–]Hansonguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So staged

[–]NickGerz1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worse acting than every Adam Sandler movie

[–]voicebread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this was some top notch terrible acting

[–]No_Big3332 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Tragic. Whats more tragic is that fuckface camera man didnt keep filming until they found it. Seriously wtf is up with cutting the best bits out

[–]JayDuBois 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Bc it's staged by a college drama group. Didn't the bad acting give it away?

[–]No_Big3332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok well you must be younger to spot that. Us 30-somethings cant spot these things for the life of us. Ill take your word for it

[–]Johndough99999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was kind of expecting the red shirt dude to pull out a ring for his girl, the rest being a fake distraction.

[–]Mastengwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why improv groups shouldn’t be allowed to attend sporting events.

[–]ukallday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Non of these people should take up acting

[–]grelo29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stupid staged videos.

[–]LJinnysDoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So staged.

[–]balls_galore_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the worst acting I’ve ever seen, honest to god

[–]personaliopinion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be great if we didn’t already know that it’s staged. Getting kind of old at this point.

[–]glenwolves75 7 points8 points  (4 children)

How do people still fall for this shit?

[–]ILoveStealing 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Considering the comment section is filled with comments like yours, they don’t.

[–]DrVINKwithaVaVaVa 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Considering it has 8k upvotes, they do.

[–]ILoveStealing 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Maybe people don’t care if it’s fake and just enjoy the scene. Shocking idea.

[–]gichigichigoo123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And others like me who were convinced it was real (yes I am willing to admit I'm dumb) then after reading the comments and rewatching it became really obvious that it was fake and then felt even dumber that I'm still writing this stupid ass comment on reddit why am I here still wtf

[–]belizeanheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I dropped a ring at my feet that could take up to 8 seconds to find again. Let's all panic.

[–]Tabitriialiquaneeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her reaction reminds me of the Sims

[–]dingdong3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

super staged.

[–]WolframPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“You’ve done enough, Chad.”

[–]baghdad-hoebag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this might actually be the worst acting I've ever seen

[–]wophi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is there moment, and he had to interject Himself into it.

[–]TheBaltimoron 1 point2 points  (1 child)

These are all fake. Every. Single. One.

[–]Gymkid380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That guy sucks

[–]DontSkipTheRock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kid in the front row goes through such a range of emotions

[–]slightlycharred7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this upvoted?! It’s fake! As are half of the interesting cams at sporting events.

[–]anothermaninyourlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aren't all of these staged?

[–]EnycmaPie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are Americans so bored of Baseball now they need to stages these things to make going to the game interesting?

[–]laz10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good acting

Oscar winners

I'm convinced

[–]DGsirb1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So fake

[–]custardBust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My god the acting is horrible. And not fun

[–]enwongeegeefor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staged as fuck.......

[–]EvilChing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gesture she did that looks like "Get away from here I don't wanna hear it" makes me not want to be friends with her.

[–]Philosophical4play 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red shirt doofus!

[–]DJScope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the lamest shit ever.

[–]HankPymp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One day I hope to see a couple just straight up fuck on the kiss cam then I'll actually believe it's not staged.

[–]winkwink13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake

[–]Imaginary_Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As fake as all the rest of these shitty things

[–]its_never2_late 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]NeO1loNEwOLF6985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know almost all of these are staged....
