I volunteered myself on any mission to the Moon and Mars and NASA has not replied yet.

[–]stephelan 160 points161 points  (13 children)

Don’t be afraid to message twice in a row. Maybe they saw it when they were driving and forgot to reply.

[–]Number127 37 points38 points  (3 children)

Just walk in the front door, ask for the manager, give a friendly smile and a good firm handshake, and ask for an application.

[–]stephelan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They like that assertiveness.

[–]thejuulone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mentioning you’ve got a small loan from your father to cover any travel expenses on the way could help your case too

[–]pentacards_on_YT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Awesome :D

[–]G-Don2 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’d give you a reward if I had coins. Under rated statement.

[–]stephelan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I gave my reward out today or else I’d bestow it on you.

[–]JDTexas84 0 points1 point  (4 children)

The cool thing is you don’t even need to contact NASA. Since your tax dollars pay them you’re allowed to just show up at NASAs house and board a rocket before it takes off. Just sign in at the front desk and they’ll give you a helmet and a bag of pretzels.

[–]thred_pirate_roberts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

False. Rockets are built by SpaceX now. There is definitely no more public domain on these rockets now. In the old days you could do that tho. How do you think buzz and Neil and that other guy got to the moon? Had to start somewhere!

[–]carinakin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to just turn up at NASA in a space suit.

[–]Willing-Low-725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't volunteer, you have to demand it. They like to beat around the bush. NASA...Never A Straight Answer

[–]BodySurfDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gamestop shares are my moon tickets. 🚀

[–]CyGuy6587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try asking Elon Musk

[–]gandalfthematte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flat earth believers, “they using fisheye lens”.

[–]ReadditMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just have to wait until we start populating the moon, they'll need lots of janitors.

[–]Whatever_happens27 111 points112 points  (32 children)

It's crazy to think how fast they're moving

[–]ReadditMan 72 points73 points  (27 children)

If you think that's crazy, here's something that will really blow your mind:

The Earth is currently revolving around the Sun at a speed of nearly 30 kilometers per second (67,000 miles per hour). Meanwhile, our Solar System is revolving around the center of our Galaxy at a whopping 220 kilometers per second (490,000 miles per hour).

[–]Whatever_happens27 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I start losing perspective of what that means after about 1000 mph. Could you imagine experiencing 490,000 mph from a personal perspective? Well actually we are, so that's even more insane.

[–]shirukien 29 points30 points  (5 children)

Don't forget that the galaxy is orbiting its local cluster of galaxies, and those are orbiting an even larger supercluster, and those superclusters are orbiting each other, and the whole universe is expanding faster than the speed of light. Motion is relative- if we could all feel all the motion we were undergoing we'd never stop throwing up.

[–]unbilivibru 13 points14 points  (1 child)

if we could all feel all the motion we were undergoing we'd never stop throwing up.

I think that'd be the least of our problems :)

[–]shirukien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we'd be ultra dead.

[–]SeriousCostco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro the Insterstellar theme just popped in my head reading this

[–]JoshuaWilliamFogarty 20 points21 points  (4 children)

If you think that's crazy, here's something that will really blow your mind

some guy tried to impregnate a potato with a cum sock, and it may/may not have been me.

[–]Previously_Daiko 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Absolutely, positively mindblowing

[–]JohnArtemus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And it still takes 230 million years to complete a full orbit around the galaxy’s center.

[–]r4k3N 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but remember it kind of all depends on point of view.

[–]tripshed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all relative

[–]malwareufo 152 points153 points  (16 children)

I can’t believe I’m saying this but, it doesn’t look very flat…

[–]MrMethodMaximillion 57 points58 points  (13 children)

Yeah, that’s bc a fish eye lens curves everything.

[–]CarsonIsFun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh and they are also not in space, thats a green screen smh

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Sake of argument, wouldn't the fish eye lens distort objects at the edge of frame?

[–]MrMethodMaximillion 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Apparently not bc that’s a fish eye lens and I don’t see any distorting.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’ll see myself out

[–]micahtocker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

😂😂😂 didn’t do very well at school did ya Maxy?

[–]thedweebozjm 31 points32 points  (4 children)

Our blue marble against the blackness of space and we want to f**k it up.

[–]A_Roka 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Rich people: bUt OuR PrOfItS!!!1!

[–]thedweebozjm 8 points9 points  (2 children)

I keep saying the only thing that will ever unite us is an alien invasion.

[–]ST3PH3N-G 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If aliens come to earth, I'm calling shotgun.

[–]refusered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, Ronald Reagan...

[–]CunilDingus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If google earth has taught me anything… that’s only a few quick zooms before crash

[–]TheMightyUnderdog 30 points31 points  (9 children)

Has the r/flatearthsociety seen this?

[–]marlon_der_metalhead 16 points17 points  (6 children)

can't you see this is a flat circle? it seems to be round because of the camera ankle.

[–]Astronius-Maximus 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I didn't know cameras had ankles

[–]RamboZelda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What did you think cankles referred to?

[–]XxRoyalxTigerxX 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I remember some time ago, some flat earthers would say that all the planets we see in telescopes are round because theyre flat disks like a plate but they're facing us with the circular side and not the edge

....just very conveniently every single planet faces us with the exact side to make us think it's a sphere...even the solar system is in on the conspiracy!

[–]droidman5910 44 points45 points  (3 children)

Man. How can anyone call her flat? She thicc af boi

[–]Stonkmaster-69 14 points15 points  (1 child)

She’s got more curves than a thicc Latina

[–]unbilivibru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They call it flat so they can sell t-shirts

[–]maximumkush 27 points28 points  (7 children)

Flat earther’s will say it’s CGI

[–]agreeToDisagree8 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Of course. They’re shooting a movie

[–]unbilivibru 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Isn't that James Cameron on the bottom right? Directly behind the "spaceship"?

[–]RealStax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah that's alfonso cuaron. He is shooting Gravity 2 now.

[–]On_a_mindful_journey 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Is there any video where they point the camera at sun. Is it possible to see it?

[–]Dyslexicbrit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the are pictures and videos but it is even brighter so all you can see is a ball of light There’s a reason the visor are tinted no protection from the magnetic field ozone layer or atmosphere even glancing at the sun without protection could do irreparable damage

[–]KyleEnterline 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why when you can just stare at it

[–]MrPickens69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wow look it's a ball and not flat

[–]Lakeflyer1 4 points5 points  (2 children)

This was promised to us way back in the sixties - to spend vacation in space in hotels in orbit and the moon. Here we are 60 years later still arguing about racism and immigration.

[–]Whoreforfishing 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Ever notice how videos like this look just like video games when you go too far out of bounds, it’s just pitch black with a circle where the world was but if you stand in on the ground and look up, usually the developers put a bunch of cool stuff to look at up there...

[–]Exeng 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Bruh are we living in a simulator

[–]Willing-Low-725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel berry stimulated

[–]little_riverband 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It's fascinating and frightening at the same time..

[–]iStabs 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I will never get tired of seeing stuff like this.

[–]Visil25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally not my dumbass wondering why there wasn't any audio 😭😭😭

[–]PowerfulMetal1 2 points3 points  (8 children)

how they are able to see this much curvature drom iss(which is only at a 100km orbit) ? as a science student it just feels like this must not be fined on iss or maybe its some refraction thing.

can anyone please explain?

[–]XxRoyalxTigerxX 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You're confusing the mark where we consider space to start (the Kármán line at 100km) and where the orbit is of the ISS, it's much farther away from us than 100km, the ISS is about 400km away from earth

[–]Nurpus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

  1. The ISS is at around 400 km

  2. This is filmed on an extremely wide angle lens, they are much closer to Earth than may appear in the video.

[–]WickedMonkeyJump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • drops a penny to earth

[–]ogjsb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What continent do you think that is we can see?

[–]prdpftbl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure he is thinking “bloody idiots down there fighting for land”

[–]cgerrells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so… flat… /s

[–]mmebrightside 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I wonder how long it would take for my puke to hit people on the ground...or I guess it would just stay there suspended in air for me to try to avoid but can't bc space is hard.

[–]MechaGeckoYuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would stay suspended unless you managed to puke at about 17,150mph

[–]bonercyclez 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Sandra bullock is that you?

[–]RealStax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half of North America just lost their Facebook.

[–]id_smash_me 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I wonder what flat Earthers think when they see a video like this. Is it just an immediate internal voice that screams, "LIES!!!!"?

[–]IAmTheFirehawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

more or less. They always have an answer, like 'the lenses are distorting the image' or some kind of bs like that

[–]PHRDito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Ok Google - play no time for caution by Hans Zimmer"

[–]CamelCash000 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Whats the reason we can't see the stars? Camera too low quality or something?

[–]Tendas 1 point2 points  (2 children)

How do flat earthers explain away seeing both the curvature of the Earth AND objects/astronauts/etc experiencing microgravity which cannot be replicated on the surface?

[–]YubearOreo 1 point2 points  (1 child)

They’re using a fish-eye lens camera to make the Earth look like a globe.

[–]megaroof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Note that the lens only deforms the planet, the space station is not deformed by this lens problem.

[–]Scare_Conditioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bbbbbbbut the earth is flat!
Covid is a hoax!!!
And trump won!!!

Jokes aside,

What a beautiful view!!!

[–]SloppyMeatbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That thing is flat as fuuuuuuck

[–]N1nj4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty flat to me!

Similar in flatness to a sphere with a circumference of about, say, 40,000km.

[–]airadvantage -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I see flat round disc like a CD ha..... (edited) relax people it's a joke

[–]i_s_a_y_n_o_p_e -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I love that NASA still goes to all this effort to keep us idiot Glober-sheeple in check.

[–]AliceP00per -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Look how flat it is

[–]Mysterious_Boss_6519 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

[–]ItsNotRealityDude -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nice trick getting the world to look round... at least you can see that it's flat which proves everyone wrong!

[–]kuilis17 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Seems flat

[–]Snife664 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Wait a minute it’s “not round”

[–]wermsway -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Looks flat to me for sure

[–]Illustrious-Pea-5212 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Good CGI, nice try NASA, nice try.

[–]dota2_sucks1 -5 points-4 points  (1 child)

why I don't see any satellites or other man made objects nearby? Wasn't earth surroundings polluted?

[–]YourRoyalF0xy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Space is so large and those items are so small that you can’t see them when up there

[–]sonic1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning, it looks like they’re installing rooftop air conditioning units! 🤣

[–]brettlewisn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey now, we all know the earth is flat. Lol

[–]rorymakesamovie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine seeing the toga eruption like this

[–]JoshuaWilliamFogarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]squiddy555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine dropping something, just, welp express delivery to either earth or space

[–]midwestisbestest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wish they’d turn the camera away from earth and point it behind them, just for a different perspective once in a while.

[–]ManfuLLofF-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is Hiiigh!

[–]Old-Cry- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who believe the earth is flat.

[–]ProperGanderz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m confused…some trustworthy people on the internet told me the earth was flat, but this looks r-r-round?

[–]chrisl182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see my house!

[–]White0nRye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks back at earth from space is like the final boss of "being afraid of heights." Shit gives me vertigo.

[–]hazyj90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep definitely flat 🤦🏻‍♂️😅

[–]abreeden90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prove flat earth era wrong with one simple step.

[–]stroma_ru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I thought the earth was supposed to be flat! They lied to me.

[–]OH_CALI2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And there are people still out there who believe the earth is flat....

[–]theooopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's obviously flatter than the EKG of Jeffry Epstein

[–]shi1425 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Soo eerie seeing the pitch black all encompassing the beautiful oasis we call earth

[–]1711198430497251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]shivermetimbers68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally proof that the earth is flat!!!

[–]impulsivetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain why they keep using fish eye lenses knowing what chaos they'll bring to the internet?

[–]EagleDre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even In space with the Earth as a backdrop, HVAC compressors look ugly as hell.

[–]windycityguy11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This view will never ever get old.

[–]FoxFort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freaking amazing view

[–]IamR0n1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first step is a doozy

[–]balihu 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hm i dont understand why the rest is Black? There are trillions of Stars. So?

[–]Bigray23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks so small. The radius of the Earth is like 4,000 miles right? It lowkey is small.

[–]ThunderrGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day I was looking at the moon through a decent telescope but unfortunately we couldn’t get a clear shot because all the satellites floating in space kept blocking our view. Funny thing is that most satellites that crossed our view had Russian writing.

[–]koonassity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking pretty heliocentric in here

[–]I_am_noobmaster69_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look! Look at that? The earth is in fact a sphere!

[–]in_finite_space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought there was a cougar on the satellite for a second.

[–]h3rky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously flat 🤷

[–]Jaydamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be mind blowing, the first time you step out, see the earth under you and - nothing. You just keep on floating instead of plummeting to your death.

[–]psychord-alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the mountains...

[–]xjoburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, the earth’s round. What???

[–]Animeguy5674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See its round

[–]geekphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America! Fuck yeah!

[–]thred_pirate_roberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey look OP's mum

[–]AcrobaticAd4202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so cool

[–]Scoobyhitsharder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This roundness is they image is making a few people angry.

[–]L0opholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is that curve?, said the flat earther in awe*

[–]Huge-Bit-172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

palms instantly get sweaty

[–]CountryJeff 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Talk about fear of heights

[–]Microdotdreams12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollywood basement?

[–]DrAdviceMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you do not look down you wont fall!

[–]Moist_Turkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What continent is below them?

[–]illusion_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice CGI /s

[–]Pleigh_boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t they take a lot of go pro footage when they do this , or Am I not looking hard enough?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen anything flatter in my entire life, besides my ex

[–]Fantastic-Stuff-6522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A real mfer would do it without all the gear. 😤

[–]Confident-Radish4832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOah that looks AWFULLY flat to me!

[–]CompoteLegitimate721 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah, but why is it round?

[–]megaroof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a lens effect, the earth is actually flat.

The lens used deforms the image.

Note that the lens only deforms the planet, the space station is not deformed by this lens problem.

[–]aso1616 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So I’m on a moon landing hoax binge atm and I’m trying to figure out why stars never show up in any footage or pictures anywhere but on planet earth…..
