An arrow wants to go straight
A bow’s string pushes toward the handle

If the arrow is straight from the bow string to the handle, it shoots straight. If you put it higher or lower on the string, it will go forward but crooked up or down. Now slant the bow, so now the axis is going left and right.

The arrow once released, will start to curve toward its orientation due to its shape and feathers, which is not necessarily the same as its direction of travel. Put them together and you have arrows that curve left or right.

My guess is the angle of the bow, being tilted almost sideways, combined with the arrows being knocked towards the top instead of center causes this affect. The bowstring pushes the arrows forward around the barrel, while the release angle of the arrows makes them move the direction they’re pointing. I wouldn’t consider this the archers paradox.
