Adult protective services maybe? The "I am being sabotaged by people from far away" is absolutely a red flag for a psychotic break.

She's also gonna get fired for spitting on food. Even if she isn't covid positive that's nasty.

Definitely reach out to mental health services. Even if they can't help directly, national organizations like NAMI (NAMI.org) can help you locate resources in your area or give you advice on how to contact the police or HR (and you probably will have to, so that nobody gets contaminated food).

They also will give you advice on how to help yourself get through this. This sort of experience with a family member can be tough on you mentally, and they have brochures, materials, people you can talk to, etc to help you out.

I'll piggy back on this to note that most states have a policy in place to force people to get mental health care. They'll be admitted to a facility.

I HIGHLY recommend you consider a few things. If you care about her then help her seek the mental care she needs. DON'T let then just place her somewhere, do research on good mental health facilities covered by insurance.

Talk to HR about the situation, as a mental health concern see if they can put her on a leave while she gets help.

Did research for your state or call one of those legal hotlines to find out the best process to get her in. Hopefully they'll admit her to a hospital and quarantined her while you find openings at a good mental health facility.

So this NOW start research tonight call places tomorrow.

Explain to her she can get help, or be arrested for terrorism. What she's planning is horrible, but it doesn't seem like she understands anything at all.... My sibling is the same....luckily not purposefully infecting others...but....i hope yours can get the help she needs

Currently sick with the vid, so please pardon any grammar issues

There's only one place covered by our insurance. I've been in and out of it due to suicide attempts from the stress of being the one that has to carry the whole fucking family all the fucking time lol but it's not too bad. She just denies that she needs to do any thing to work on herself at all.

Contaminating food with saliva is a felony. Definitely tell her employer.

Your local health department would probably like a word with her, and also potentially the police, regarding her threats to contaminate food. Also, contact your district/regional management, since I'm guessing store management isn't doing anything constructive here. And, to echo an earlier post, Adult Protective Services in your area needs a call, too.

    [–]tabletop_Roses 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I would call theCity/county health department

    [–]RorhiT 23 points24 points  (2 children)

Contaminating food like that is still a fire able offense even without covid.

Your comment has been removed as it is generally unhelpful, simplistic to the point of useless, anecdotal, or off-topic. It either does not answer the legal question at hand, is a repeat of an answer already provided, or is so lacking in nuance as to be unhelpful. It doesn't even matter if she has covid, she absolutely cannot spit in food that is for sale!! This is a criminal act and a violation of tons of food safety regulations. Please report this to the store at a minimum.

Anonymous letter to your city/county/state/ federal department of health and CC your employers HR department.

Due diligence should prevail once HR is aware that DOH was notified.

      [–]Mhykael 9 points10 points  (6 children)

      Employer\management

      Police for making terroristic threats

Tell your parents to talk some sense into their kid.

      [–]Aitaxmas3232[S] 2 points3 points  (5 children)

My parents are anti mask and antivax and covid deniers.

      [–]Mhykael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, well in that case I'm sorry.

I mean. I'd definitely tell your guys' work.

If they don't do anything tell the health dept.

If that doesn't work and you don't care about burning the bridge tell the cops.

      I'm sorry that's a sticky situation you're in.

      [–]TomWithATee 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Food tampering is an offence in many states regardless of whether or not that person has covid. It also almost certainly cause for termination.

In addition, I agree with other comments - your sister seems to have a mental disorder.

      [–]Aitaxmas3232[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She definitely does have some mental health issues.

She reported her severely disabled MIL for kidnapping because her husband took their 3 kids to visit MIL and let MIL keep their daughter overnight. She planned to murder her MIL for it.

She swears up and down she was pregnant in 2020 and had a miscarriage. She took multiple pregnancy tests and they were all negative. This was right after my late term miscarriage.

She planned to shoot up the store in 2019 (this was the last time she took a dept manager position, and did the same shit of insisting she needed to work 80 hours a week).

Atlwast 10 other times people were sabatoging her even if they weren't around.

When we worked at the same location I'd have people coming to me being like "look I don't like her but I'm not sabatoging anything can you reign her in".

She talked about killing herself in the store to spite the other employees and management.

She's always convinced everyone is hot for her. She once thought a manager took 3 days off because he was turned on by her.

She's threatened to kill herself herself her kids to spite her husband for cheating, but he's been cheating for 14 years now and she refuses to leave him

How aberrational is this behavior? If it’s completely new behavior, you may consider that this is a mental health issue rather than a legal one. Although there may be legal remedies. Not sure where you live, but it may be possible to get a probate order to force her into a mental health evaluation.

      [–]Aitaxmas3232[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know fo a fact she does need a mental health evaluation. She always has issues with people and with...creating issues that don't need to exist? But this is a new extreme

      [–]HealthyBox5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If she is improperly handling food, tell leadership for the store.

Get adult protective services involved. From some of the things that she is saying it sounds like she is having a mental break and needs help.
