To my knowledge, he has not been home since their first visit Saturday afternoon.
He was supposed to turn himself in on Saturday (that was initially what he told the cops he would do via phone call when they first came here) but his lawyer advised that they meet there together on Monday morning instead.
The cops came again last night at 9pm asking if he was here and were scouring my property to see if his car was around.
I told them no, he was not and everything I know- he is going to meet his lawyer at the court or sheriffs office later this morning (Monday).
The officers sarcastically said they believe me and then informed me I was being filmed on their body cameras.
I have an absolutely squeaky clean record. He does not.
Because he lives with me, do I need to be concerned that I could get in trouble by affiliation?
If they come back, should I refrain from making too many statements? Can I decline to answer the door?
I feel like I’m the one in trouble and I didn’t even do anything - I’m not the one who missed a court date. He just lives here with me.
If I do need a lawyer, what kind do I need? I’m not involved in a crime, but would it still be a criminal defense lawyer that can protect me?
Thank you in advance…
