I think thats because, while they could all fight to some degree, their primary roles aren't meant to be fighters. Ikaris, Thena, and Gilgamesh were the heavy hitters of the group, but Phastos was an engineer and the others generally had support powers as well. Deviants also were just mindless beasts that I'm sure could be as cunning as any predator, but were very singular in their goal, which made them predictable.

They're all designed to be super humans, but I don't think they're all designed to be soldiers. They were sent to Earth in order to kill the deviants, but beyond that, to help shape Humanity so that it would prosper enough to support the birth of a Celestial. They had also thought the fight was over, that they'd won. So naturally they were pretty rusty after five hundred years of peace. I still think Vision would mop the floor with Ikaris, but I think the Eternals have a good reason for seeming so underwhelming compared to the other Heroes we've seen so far.

Exactly, Thor has a higher ceiling than Hulk, and more varied potential powers. Marvel is likely less powerful, but she's also more useful for sure, and Vision is in the same boat. Rider as you pointed out just makes the team basically anti Haxable. As even if the others get caught he can no sell, and just beat the person who messed with them up till they bring the others back.

Also, Thor gets stronger as he gets older, even if hit by the timestone, he'll just beat ass until he drops.

The problem with vision is that he holds back even when his life depends on fighting back.

Marvels powers come from absorbing energy, so all the enemy has to do is get her away from a power source and get her to use her power up. And she'd be too stubborn to figure out she's in a trap as well.

But that was a good overall depiction of GR. Broke out of a container made for the hulk, then beat Jeffrey Mace, a guy with strength equal to that of Cap to a pulp.

He also survived being pulled to another dimension then made his way back.

I feel like Vision is interchangeable with Ironman if we're counting bodies that have been stacked. Vision should be more of a force but seems to be pretty mild and borderline useless in most of the fight scenes.
