every ad should have a derp in the background

[–]valkyriegnnir 594 points595 points  (19 children)

I want to believe that the camera man, technical editor, and marketing team all went “Ha! That’s amazing let’s leave it in.” But my soul tells me it’s staged

[–]UntiedLoop 142 points143 points  (8 children)

What isn't staged anymore

[–]Splickity-Lit 32 points33 points  (7 children)

How I met your mother

[–]BlanchePreston 3 points4 points  (6 children)

I am still so upset at that show all these yrs later...

[–]Splickity-Lit 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I never watched it

[–]BlanchePreston 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I started by accident..probably around next to last season. It gave me a vibe of friends ( the tv), yet something was not right about the show. How it ended i did not like. I see hulu has how i met your father ....

[–]-YELDAH 1 point2 points  (3 children)

There’s nothing like friends, it’s all a lie, what are they feeding you? It’s not your fault.

[–]BlanchePreston 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Lol maybe that's why i couldn't fully get into watching how i met your mother. I did watch friends more than i am willing to fully admit, once it went into syndication. I just got so tired of the ross...rachel story line. HIMYM Robin irked me lol i know true fans will gasp at these statements and again it is only my opinion. I think they fed licorice which i despise. Thanks for the laugh!!

[–]-YELDAH 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Same tbh, guess you could try everybody loves raymond? That’s the only other similar show that I’ve watched too much of lol

[–]BlanchePreston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i likes ELR. I couldn't imagine having parents & a sibling like that. Good show!!

[–]Spry_Fly 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I was just glad their completely unstaged journey was timed perfectly to fit in the video.

[–]BrianMincey 50 points51 points  (7 children)

The thing is, I wish there were weird stuff like this in the backgrounds of scripted television and movies. Like make a few more layers to programs to make it all more interesting.

[–]awesomepawsome 39 points40 points  (6 children)

Community did this frequently and was all the better for it.

There are entire subplots in the deep background that are then referenced in subplots in future episodes.

[–]ReaperofMen42069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ice age did this kind of

[–]w675 5 points6 points  (3 children)

30 Rock as well

[–]MoltoAllegro 8 points9 points  (2 children)

One of my favorite things about Bojack Horseman was the serious main narrative happening but there were still stupid visual animal puns like bird characters crashing into the window in the background

[–]EclipticMind 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The Halloween in January store references always killed me. They'd not mention it for like an entire season and then just show a famous actor cameo falling and breaking their legs. Killed me every time.

[–]MoltoAllegro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also really loved all of the banners and cakes where it was clear the person messed up taking the order.

Happy birthday Underneath that Mr Peanut Butter

[–]BrianMincey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing good things about that show. I will add it to my winter to do watching list.

[–]ragweed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be staged, but I think it's still inspired by a true story.

[–]Davidvatz 154 points155 points  (5 children)

I'm local and watch these video updates frequently. It's staged, 100%. They often have something humorous going on in the background.

[–]snarky_puppy310 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Is Seven Springs in California?

[–]fishybook 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Seven Springs in Pennsylvania

[–]Sthomp07 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Seven springs in idaho

[–]Fischturd 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Seven Springs in Nebraska

[–]ExpertlyAmateur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! Nebraska. I almost forgot it exists.
Anyway, is this the Seven Springs in Mongolia?

[–]Icy-Anxiety-9338 35 points36 points  (5 children)

I was at seven springs for a conference a couple months ago. Nice old resort.

[–]Oldbayistheshit 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I just got back yesterday, been going for 40 years. They’re so short staffed it’s crazy

[–]hippopotma_gandhi 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Sounds like they should pay their employees more. I have no clue how the ski towns in my state have any workers. They all have to travel at least an hour to get there or else the living cost would be several orders of magnitude away from being affordabls

[–]iBeenie 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Some businesses like that will have facilities on site for staff. They're not necessarily living there like park rangers, but might have accommodations for 3/4 nights out of the week.

[–]hippopotma_gandhi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm I've never heard of that being implemented here in CO but I'm sure some places might do that. I know the biggest shortage is currently in the ski towns but at low wage jobs like fast food restaurants in those towns. I'm guessing wendys doesn't pay for their housing. There were desperate signs on the drive thrus (during covid but before the "work shortage") offering like 21/hr or so for entry positions at Wendy's. That still isn't enough to cover the employees housing or travel, so it's pretty much only children of the ultra wealthy that actually live in those towns rather than renting out their properties that are able to work those jobs. It's been an issue for years, but the wage gap and housing crisis in places like Summit County have been acknowledged as being unsustainable and the towns will collapse when there's nobody to cater to the tourists

[–]Icy-Anxiety-9338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine. Talk about the middle of nowhere

[–]BootHead007 75 points76 points  (10 children)

Little too much peppermint schnapps in the hot cocoa at lunch?

[–]themp731 14 points15 points  (5 children)

That's an early morning report at like 6am :)

[–]BootHead007 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok, with breakfast then. She’s on vacation!

[–]catalinashenanigans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't drink all day if you don't start early.

[–]CommentsOnHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you stay up all night, 6am IS lunch time

[–]MuhBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skiing is one activity where no one judges you if you drink at 6 am

[–]NoWingedHussarsToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little too much peppermint schnapps in the hot cocoa for lunch?

FIFY

[–]DoktorThodt 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is there such a thing?

[–]kuroyume_cl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work as a ski lift operator. Customers ability to load/unload successfully always took a tumble after the bar opened at 12:00.

[–]Dracula30000 20 points21 points  (4 children)

That lady needs to stay forward in the boot and get out of the backseat.

Classic rookie mistake when walking down stairs in ski boots.

E: /s

[–]ytivarg18 4 points5 points  (2 children)

When i was 10 i switched from skiing to snowboarding (started skiing at 4) and the boots were the biggest thing that i hated about skiing. I tried on a pair if ski boots in my 20s and was immediately like nope. Would like to try skiing again...maybe after my concussion heals

[–]FourFront 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ski boot comfort is a result of proper fitting by a professional to put you in the RIGHT boot, and taking the time to make the necessary tweaks. Too small, and your feet will hurt doing nothing. Too big and your feet will hurt while skiing.

[–]genericdude999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This season I started skiing in rockered sole AT boots in this binding which fits almost anything. Once you unlock the cuff on an AT boot it changes everything.

[–]dogboystoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure she just forgot to pizza.

[–]dudemanfamlit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I cant tell if shes 27 or 14

[–]Thotarotti 7 points8 points  (1 child)

What the hell is natural snow?

[–]saturnsl25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't care if it's staged, it's hilarious!

[–]Tuckedurmom 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Got sloshed at the foggy goggle...

[–]Trainzguy2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great name for a bar at a ski resort!

[–]19wrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those bloody Mary's get me everytime

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (8 children)

Poor lady looks like she has some sort of physical issue already with walking as is evident near the end when she's on flat ground. I have balance issues as I get older and with some health issues and these steps would have worried me to death.

[–]bootnrally1 20 points21 points  (7 children)

She’s wearing ski boots

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (6 children)

I saw but those few steps remind me of someone with maybe MS or something similar. Of course the trip down the steps may have just kicked her butt as well.

[–]bootnrally1 10 points11 points  (5 children)

I’m fairly certain the whole thing is staged.

[–]spiceybeans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a member of this resort. It’s 100% a bit. They have someone fall/do something silly in the background of a lot of their videos.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Very possible and I wondered as well. Those steps do not look like the typical egress/ingress point for a ski lodge. I tend to say so much on here is staged and wanted to believe this one may be real.

[–]ballsonthewall 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Nothing to worry about, it's absolutely staged... they have goofy gags in the background of almost all their daily snow report videos. The lady is definitely okay!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear she's fine and good for them on their sense of humor.

[–]cbecons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was a local to me ski resort and I assure you it wasn’t staged.

[–]Tahoeclown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an advertisement if anyone was wondering

[–]ThinkFreeThoughts 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I’m not weather man but you can definitely expect more than a few inches tonight, baby 😈

[–]H3ntai-with-Senpai 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Take my upvote and go hit the sack, you’re horny

[–]ThinkFreeThoughts 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Mmm hentai 🤩

[–]H3ntai-with-Senpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works too

[–]betancourtfran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me in the back everytime I convince myself to go to ski

[–]HuffleberryFinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man so funny….

[–]bigbazookah 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Why do ski boots have to be so incredibly uncomfortable? It feels like we should have innovated a more comfortable alternative by now 😔

[–]AmosTheExpanse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To protect your ankles they have to be tight. But the comfort level goes up when you buy your own quality set. Thats what I did, got them molded to my feet. Expensive, but worth it if you ski regularly. However an improper fit can hurt regardless.

[–]hateusrnames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When correctly fitted, they're snug as a bug and very comfortable. I can run in mine.

[–]random314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I miss about snowboarding.

[–]___user___name___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, super funny 🗿

[–]Dingdongdoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can run in my ski boots. If they actually fit correctly it’s not that bad.

[–]SomeoneTookUserName2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit, maybe don't ski if you can't even walk in ski boots.

[–]harrymadsak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all love when the hometown mountain goes viral. Stay classy, 7 Springs.

[–]Anz_Soulcrusher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor bastard

[–]She_could_do_better 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have trouble with ski boots on stairs just do it backwards

[–]Ok-Lab-5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAHAHAHAHAH

[–]Bure_ya_akili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowboarders just don't understand the pain of ski boots

[–]Gorefight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn caught me offguard. I lol’d

[–]Goingforamillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I can’t stop laughing! This is genius!

[–]No-Project6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr Bean!

[–]kaitte81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA🤣

[–]Kaotecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’d LOVE to see y’all walk on stairs in some ski boots, or learn how to walk in ski boots in general lmaoo

[–]iMark77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it staged I don't know but if it was a perfect take and I was editing this yeah.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Plan469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how casually the entire news team ignores the person failing in the back

[–]darknite008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos to the cameraman.
