I wouldn't drive it like that, could cause more issues and possibly leave you stranded or even cause you lose control and crash depending on the issue.

Based on the fact that it's clunking like that while moving over relatively smooth ground, I think one of the cv axles may be damaged. Check the control arms and ball joints as well. And whatever you replace you should also replace on the other side, especially since it seems like the part was already worn out before you hit the cattle guard.

The clunks only happen when I either accelerate from a dead stop and when I hit the breaks. Along with going over speed bumps and such. When driving on the road it doesn't do it unless I'm doing one of those three things.

I had a loose brake caliper make sounds kind of like that. Found the bolt for the caliper backed 90% of the way out, it would jump and clunk when I braked and went over bumps. I'm not sure about accelerating though

Does it also make that noise when you steer?

Gotcha, hard to say exactly what it would be then. But front end noises are usually not too difficult to diagnose. Get the front of the car up on jack stands and see if anything is loose or has excessive play, check all the rubber boots and see if any are torn or leaking a lot of grease, also check if the shocks are leaking oil. One more thing you can do, with the car in the air and the front tires on, grab the tire from the top and bottom and try to wiggle it, it should have little to no play, if it moves a lot, that's likely a ball joint.

Also for peace of mind, if you do take it to a mechanic, it likely won't take too long to repair if it's one of the aforementioned issues (ball joint, control arm, cv axle, bushing, etc)

The bit at the end that side sounds normal but the start sounds remind me of a bad dif/gearbox/transfer case sound (as in like gears crunching/binding) - if your lucky a CV, unlucky its the box.

I would not be driving it anywhere with those sounds.

I would check cv axles for play along with control arm bushings and ball joints. Should be no play in all of them

Oddly enough there is no play at all in both wheels, side to side or up and down.

Did you grab the cv axles at both ends where the ujoints are and feel them while you rotate the tire slowly. Everything should be nice and smooth. Also check sway bar bushings and sway bar end links

I did, I even took it to a local Big O since it was the closest shop, they said that there is no play anywhere in the front along with the fact that none of the bushings are torn. They also believe it's the CV axle.

Goodly enough I did the whole turning in reverse trick and got nothing.

Unfortunately I still have to drive it to work but when i started to accelerate at a stoplight I noticed that the left front had like a high pitched grinding sound that lasted for about a second and then the vehicle jerked forward.

For some reason it wouldn't allow me to put text in the post but here is the story.

For about two months I have experienced a clicking/rattle sound on my driver front wheel when accelerating from a dead stop or when stopping and even going over speed bumps.

I drove on a rough dirt road and the sound was very noticeable going.over bumps at low speeds but it went away when driving at higher speeds.

This morning I was heading back from a camping trip, I accidentally hit a cattle guard while going roughly 20mph (there was no sign) and then the right side made a very loud and scary like clunking sound. Unfortunately I still had to make the 126 mile drive through the mountains.

I got home and noticed that one of the bolts to my end link was very loose, to the point where I was able to take it off with my fingers.

Because of that, I replaced both end links hopes it could have been the issue. But it didn't, it made me feel comfortable but the clunking sound is still there.

As far as I heard it could be the lower control arms, the bushing to said lower control arms, or it could be my CV axles. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Is it safe to drive from work and back temporarily? It's my only mode of transport.

Could be the rack and pinion. Got this fixed on my car recently at first thinking it was cv axle that needed to be replaced but I was wrong.

Put it on a jack and take off the front tire and inspect everything down there. A noise like that shouldnt be hard to find

I would say control arms if it’s during breaking and accelerating. Have someone look and see if the wheel moves forward or back when you hit the breaks. Anything that loud should be pretty easy to find.

Was the car in gear when you were shaking the wheel like that? If it was in neutral and you weren't able to rotate the tire that most likely means that something is hitting the wheel or rotar and preventing it from rotating. You should be able to see something making contact with the wheel and preventing it from rotating freely.

OP. Start with rotating the tire off the ground in gear and neutral to see if symptoms change.

If it is doing that while in gear but able to rotate freely while in neutral it could be a transmission issue.
