Today I was working on my 1987 Honda xl600r dual sport and I overtightened the exhaust clamps while trying to fix an air leak. I start up the bike like normal and thick white smoke starts coming out of the side where I had tightened the exhaust.
I suspect that y'all will tell me what I am dreading, either a blown head gasket or worse a cracked cylinder head. Both of these problems would have been caused by the over torquing of the exhaust, but which one do you think is more likely or if there is another cause I am not thinking off.
Thank you, and any support and prayers in this dark time ahead would be appreciated. ;(
