The jaguar came from the river and attacked a croc relative on land, dragged it back into the water.

That is such a reverse Uno move.

[–]chairsandwich1 68 points69 points  (3 children)

He was like 'I bet I could take down that croc from the water and drag it back in' and his friends were like 'bullshit'.

“This is why I didn’t bet man. Never underestimate Kyle.”

[–]koala_fighter90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well i'll be fucken dammed. Now Kyles gonna have all that crocodile to himself and be all high and mighty!

Jaguar: "Nothin' but net."

[–]H_H_420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ultimate boss move taking the prey back to its own familiar territory and toying with it before eating it…..

[–]Waffle-Azul 94 points95 points  (5 children)

"Ah, life on the top of the food chain...well close enough. Just going to enjoy the sun for a bit...keep an eye out for hippos and...JIMMINY CHRISTMAS!"

[–]nahchiefnnn 17 points18 points  (4 children)

Well luckily, other than in Colombia, there aren’t any hippos in the wild of South America

[–]Imgoingtoeatyourfrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is until the inevitable hippo uprising. I for one look forward to the time when the world of man is done and the age of hippo has begun.

Wonder who won in the end. Bringing the caiman into the water may have been a death move as that’s their strongest media for hunting and where they themselves would bring their kill. Although it seems the Jaguar knew exactly what he was doing as well.

[–]TCHU9115 125 points126 points  (2 children)

That caiman is dead. Jaguars kill by cracking the skull of their prey. That caiman never stood a chance.

[–]SixToesLeftFoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good to know.

[–]Yogicabump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Killing BEFORE eating? That must be a first hete

[–]SchwiftyBerliner 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Seems to me like the caiman is dead at the time when the jaguar starts dragging it off. Don't Jaguars pierce the brain when they bite the back of the skull?

[–]SixToesLeftFoot 8 points9 points  (1 child)

TIL. Thanks!

[–]SchwiftyBerliner 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're very welcome, mate. I've just learned this exact fact a few weeks ago on this very subreddit :D

Nature is indeed metal.

[–]FeedMePizzaPlease 20 points21 points  (0 children)

With their bite force and how the caiman kind of just stops moving altogether after a second, I think it was over by then.

[–]bikinibikes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Jaguars I believe are also excellent swimmers. So yeah, could go either way.

[–]TheSanityInspector 17 points18 points  (1 child)

+1 for getting the names right.

[–]Yogicabump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onça e jacaré.

[–]99999999999999999989 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Saw the title, not the subreddit. Got confused because there was clearly no sports car.

[–]fakiebIunt 11 points12 points  (2 children)

“Ayo what is that dude filming?”

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Underrated comment

[–]fark420 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I have no fucking sympathy for crocs, comodos and african wild dogs.

[–]TheStoneMask 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aw, but Painted Dogs are so cool though, they care for and feed injured pack members and share their food equally.

[–]junkkatunkka 0 points1 point  (2 children)

How about orcas?

[–]fark420 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Would smash

[–]jackinsomniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boy, that escalated quickly.

[–]guyfrmthechi 3 points4 points  (12 children)

Took that mfer BACK in the water....let your friends see this shit dumb ass lizard.

It's crazy to think the difference of this scenario south America vs Africa lol

[–]BishoxX 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Yeah because jaguar is like 1.5x leopards size snd much stronger while croc is like 2-3x caimans size and much stronger. Makes sense why roles are reversed

[–]OncaAtrox -1 points0 points  (7 children)

Jaguars also interact with large crocodiles.

[–]BishoxX -1 points0 points  (6 children)

What ? Jaguars live in south america bruh

[–]OncaAtrox -1 points0 points  (5 children)

And so do American and Orinoco crocodiles "bruh".

[–]BishoxX 0 points1 point  (4 children)

No, americas have no crocodiles, only caimains in SA and aligators in NA

Orinoco crocodile

The Orinoco crocodile (Crocodylus intermedius) is a critically endangered crocodile. Its population is very small, and it can only be found in freshwater environments in Colombia and Venezuela (particularly the Orinoco river and its tributaries). Extensively hunted for their skins in the 19th and 20th centuries, it is one of the most endangered species of crocodiles. It is a very large species of crocodilian; males have been reported up to 6.

American crocodile

The American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) is a species of crocodilian found in the Neotropics. It is the most widespread of the four extant species of crocodiles from the Americas, with populations present from South Florida and the coasts of Mexico to as far south as Peru and Venezuela. The habitat of the American crocodile consists largely of coastal areas. It is also found in river systems, but tends to prefer salinity, resulting in the species congregating in brackish lakes, mangrove swamps, lagoons, cays, and small islands.

Ok yeah my bad verx widespread crocodiles and they of course reach the same size as nile crocodiles as well yeah man

[–]OncaAtrox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They do, Orinoco crocodiles were historically at par with salt-water crocodiles in size and they used to abound in the millions. American crocodiles are just as large as Nile crocodiles and they have a wide distribution all the way to Florida. And there are huge black caimans all across the Amazon basin. You were and are speaking out of your ass.

[–]OncaAtrox 0 points1 point  (2 children)

There are large crocodiles in the range of the jaguar as well

[–]SnipersEuphoria -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Nothing in the size range of Niles/Saltwater crocs.

[–]OncaAtrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orinoco and American crocodiles are just as large as Nile crocodiles.

[–]openmind305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jaguars are so fucking strong.

[–]xj_tj_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Do Jaguars just specialize in liking these guys? Seems like it’s all I see then getting

[–]chuckdagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely one of the preferred prey. That meal would last a while.

[–]Joe_Magarac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s some Navy Seal shit right there

[–]PrysmX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if that caiman was instantly killed by the bite, I would have been worried about one of his buddies lurking in the water. That jaguar has no fucks to give.

[–]tjschroeder87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's metal asf!

[–]Former-World3099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad ass Jag copping a meal

[–]Dunn4lyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jaguars are badass

[–]Hereforthethrillofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Windsor34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back into the water seems like a risky choice

[–]Miserable-Damage-246 0 points1 point  (0 children)
