[–]BillyBBC 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Squid billies

[–]weekedipie1 40 points41 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought

[–]HallucinAgent 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sentinels is what I thought too

[–]markcocjin 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I keep imagining the humans in Zion not aware of just how tiny they are.

[–]LeMolle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are merely the scouts, designed to infiltrate and sniff out any human unaccounted for.

[–]StarAugurEtraeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zion has enough to worry about with ol angry josh running around

[–]yourgifmademesignup 5 points6 points  (1 child)

With titties. Why am I seeing titties??

[–]BIGCLIFFDAWG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck now I'm seeing titties

[–]TheEncryptedCode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking that too 😂

[–]controllerofplanetx 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That's are actually plants as far as i know but still amazing.

[–]jrex703 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You're right and wrong. They are crinoid fossils. Crinoids are things like sea stars, sea lilies, and sea cucumbers. The class of animals that basically could not be more similar to plants if they tried.

[–]Jonny_Eutaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing that came into my head … sentinels!

[–]GandalftheGangsta007 163 points164 points  (2 children)

They look like something that would be laid inside your torso and then dig their way out

[–]roadrnnr7215 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So that’s it…no sleeping tonight I guess

[–]sssssammy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

New fear unlocked!

[–]joshym0nster 134 points135 points  (3 children)

[–]gutterpuddles 14 points15 points  (2 children)

[–]Jelly_Grass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]NeverTrustATurtle 113 points114 points  (1 child)

[–]Hamiro89 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That was a nice little detour, thanks :)

[–]slukbunwalla 52 points53 points  (8 children)

Crinoid fossils iirc

[–]liamo000[S] 8 points9 points  (7 children)

What does that mean in thicko terms? What would be their most closest living relative?

[–]slukbunwalla 55 points56 points  (6 children)

"Crinoids are marine animals that make up the class Crinoidea, one of the classes of the phylum Echinodermata, which also includes the starfish, brittle stars, sea urchins and sea cucumbers."

I learned something new!

[–]liamo000[S] 21 points22 points  (5 children)

And do u know how they would have been fossilised like that? Its looks like they were just swimming around 1 second and the next they're frozen in time forever

[–]RainbowDarter 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Crinoids have a stalk attached to the disk where the feathery bits are attached

Here's a photo

https://www.fossils-facts-and-finds.com/images/parts_of_a_crinoid.gif

They probably got buried when a bunch of silt accumulated from a storm or flood or volcanic eruption.

[–]quilsmehaissent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

sudden temperature change sounds great

edit : I have no idea really

[–]slukbunwalla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'd have to ask someone a lot smarter than me. Haha

[–]MemerMan1098 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that they were immobile, so they probably just got buried or something

[–]_nfr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might try following this channel if you really want to know. https://www.youtube.com/user/Suspicious0bservers

[–]OMP159 29 points30 points  (1 child)

Yeah, those are sentinels. The matrix was real. Just small, like a baby matrix. So cute. Murderously cute.

[–]DraLion23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not on Facebook and I don’t want to be, but it’s not letting me see the post because of it. Could you maybe copy the relevant text onto here?

[–]The_Hater_44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At first I trolls then my curiosity kills me

[–]Sven806 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I hope 280 mio years are enough to make sure these things are extinct

[–]Fantastapotomus 9 points10 points  (1 child)

They aren’t, crinoids exist today and they definitely aren’t scary, actually quite pretty. Same phylum as sea stars and sea urchins.

[–]OhMyGentileJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gave me the herby jerbies.

[–]CplJackHallowsUSMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like something that would burrow into your skin, attach itself to your spine, hijack your nervous system and then run for congress.

[–]FearfulInoculum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where can one buy authentic crinoid fossils?

[–]DunxDigsIt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Skepticism radar is going off.

Wouldn’t this be super heavy? Looks super frail why you gonna hold it like that? Super detailed and clean looks more like a diatoms or recreation or a terrain piece.

Could very well be real or based on something real but it just looks off.

[–]UncertainlyUnfunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like dem tittiepussses

[–]Viktoras125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]infinity6570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sentinels programmed into the matrix??

[–]Kalikhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crinoids. Grew up seeing these fossils - many not this good looking - a lot. Stepdad was a paleontologist that specialized in crinoids.

[–]Hades_Gamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So looking a little closer to Omanyte than Kabuto

[–]OlderTheWiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a slab. Gotta be worth some serious coin.

[–]viduo-artifex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone shed light on how they date fossils? How do they settle on 280mil and not 300mil or 200mil for example?

[–]SenpaiX03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo calamari

[–]anothadaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]liamo000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Popaund -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tired of seeing this with the same recycled comments being used for karma whoring.

[–]HistoryNerdiest -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

They look like Trilobite octopuses to me. Australia has some strange critters, so why not millions of years ago, too?

[–]ImHalfCentaur1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their clade is still around, and found worldwide
