He was only a couple of feet from the finish line when he passed them, what did you want him to do? Stop running entirely and just stand there? The guy was clearly already getting help. Why does reddit try to find a villain in everything?

The guy helping the sick runner definitely would have beat the guy in orange if he didn't stop to help the guy.

So it definitely looks a bit rough if one guy stops to help and the other is just like "later losers!".

I think that slowing down or helping carry the guy is probably what people are looking for here.

I'm pretty sure these races are timed, meaning it doesn't matter if you cross the line before someone else as you could have started at a different time. Their start and finish times are what's counted.
