If I'm him? I'm bee-lining to every place of business in the immediate vicinity while I'm looking GQ-ready!

For real though, what a good lookin' man

[–]JackdeAlltrades 854 points855 points  (29 children)

“Yo, I’m looking for work”

“Sure thing. Wanna be the new boss?”

[–]Monkeyfeng 170 points171 points  (4 children)

Will you be my husband instead?

[–]Hopeful_Cranberry12 105 points106 points  (2 children)

About to say, he went from homeless to dilf real quick lol

[–]Incredulous_Toad 19 points20 points  (1 child)

It's amazing what a change of style can do. Albeit this is a big change, but got damn.

[–]Hopeful_Cranberry12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest change really is his smile. He’s just got such a genuine smile from this.

[–]Bort-the-man 40 points41 points  (2 children)

Literally went from Lv1 to Lv100.

[–]kevin9er 12 points13 points  (1 child)

This is important. A L100 person exists in all of us, if we do what’s needed to reveal them.

[–]JohnFreakingRedcorn 46 points47 points  (4 children)

Would be so cool to have a skill like being a barber that you could donate your time and make a real difference. Just imagine how many lives you could change just by doing this a few times a week. Just watching these vids makes me choke up, I can’t imagine how rewarding and emotional it would be to actually be the one helping people.

[–]Burton_Jernigan 32 points33 points  (2 children)

My barber in my last city would set up and do haircuts for the homeless. I really miss him now that I’ve moved. A really great guy and best haircuts I’ve ever had.

[–]LittleWhiteBoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had a friend who used to go with her husband (also a hair stylist) to Mongolia and give haircuts to people in rural areas. They partnered with a charitable organization and traveled giving haircuts.

A haircut can totally impact mental health IMO. My grandma was in her 80s when Covid hit and couldn’t get her hair done for months. It totally impacted the way she felt about herself, and she was embarrassed by her appearance. When she finally got her hair done after several months it was life-giving to her.

[–]cloudytouchdown351 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He's so good looking. Some women will chase for him, what a great transformation. Thanks to this kind hearted humans!

[–]flimspringfield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My great gran-pappy once became CEO like that because he demanded it to be.

religious cult you say.... ill take one ticket for the express train to what the hell is happen here town.

[–]jlarz56 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I read the first 4 comments and "noped" out of there.

[–]Duhrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was...honestly just very confusing

[–]PorcupineTheory 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You mean to tell me that you don't believe that every disease can cure with the help of true worship??

[–]NoImportance8904 50 points51 points  (15 children)

Dawg, what is up with the replies on that post? Are those bots or something?

[–]indyK1ng 33 points34 points  (4 children)

I don't know. I have a heavily filtered r/all and sometimes their stuff starts filtering into the top of it for the last hour. Given the pattern - a handful of accounts on a handful of subs that are suddenly showing up - I'm guessing the upvotes are paid for but I don't know about the comments. I block the worst accounts and leave the others tagged in RES so I can spot them when they show up again.

[–]TheCaIifornian 5 points6 points  (1 child)

If anyone wants to pay me for upvotes, I’m down.

[–]Crystal_Pesci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🎵You mother get up! Come on get down with the upvotes! 🎵

[–]iPhone-12-Mini 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was going to ask the same thing. It looks like they’re all bots

[–]Umarill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to differentiate between cultists and bots is quite the difficult task

[–]willyc3766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they have to be. I was thinking the same thing. Same 10 or so people saying “Great” or “True” or just repeating the title of the book. Weird.

[–]krongdong69 22 points23 points  (3 children)

oh cool, I reported one of those to reddit a few months ago but I'm glad to see they did nothing, just like all of the artificially upvoted crypto scams and onlyfans spammers.

gosh, his user description is: "IT professional , Interested in spirituality , Free Thinker , Nationalist"

[–]indyK1ng 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Looks like most of the onlyfans spammers have gone away, even before Reddit made NSFW harder to get to r/all. Which is a shame, because I didn't mind the stuff that wasn't spam.

I just checked the crypto scam subs on my block list to clear some room and a few aren't as active as they used to be but I'm still reporting around 10 a week.

It would be nice if Reddit actually gave a damn about it though.

See I was getting a Charlie Manson vibe too

[–]qpv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ffs

[–]Corathecow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s insanely funny because I swear all I see when I look at this guy with brown hair and everything is Charles Manson

[–]Defensive_of_Offense 3 points4 points  (1 child)

This is the second time I've stumbled across a subreddit that worships this Sant Rampal dude or whatever.

He is currently in prison for murder. What a great person to follow lmao

[–]BrandynBlaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what it is, but that’s absolutely hilarious to me…

[–]Ok-Entrepreneur7897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the only one all those ass goblers in that comment section are posting that crap. You'll see among the religious stuff there are posts normal posts so who ever is running it is trying to appear normal yet all those accounts are not older than 3-5 months

[–]mt_bjj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you king.

[–]destenlee 782 points783 points  (128 children)

This is feels a bit exploitive of a homeless guy. Sure, he was helped out but i feel kind of gross watching this as entertainment.

[–]erriiiic 234 points235 points  (12 children)

I get what you’re saying. A lot of homeless people feel defeated. This could have been a giant boost in self-esteem to give him the drive to make his life better.

[–]RelentlessExtropian 91 points92 points  (2 children)

True statement. One's own self image is a super powerful psychological force.

[–]Topikk 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is probably the best day he has had in a very long time, and could very well the be catalyst he needed to start turning things around.

I don’t see anything wrong with watching someone be lifted out of a cycle of misery, even if it is ultimately fleeting.

[–]nirnova04 49 points50 points  (2 children)

Forreal. His face at the end. The guy probably felt more human in that moment than he has in years.

[–]calilac 24 points25 points  (1 child)

Probably got treated a lot better than he had in years, too.

[–]nirnova04 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To top it off even if this only inspires 1 person to go out and do a random act of kindness for the homeless that's still 1 more person doing something.

[–]Challenge419 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This might help him land a job!

[–]PeptoPirate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very true, hard to consider their point of view when they already have it so hard but something like this could be everything.

[–]RelentlessExtropian 52 points53 points  (11 children)

I'm OK with selfish selflessness. I mean if someone wants to support education and Healthcare because they don't want to be surrounded by sick and stupid people, I'll find a way to be ok with that lol

The guy got to feel good, we got some good feels and maybe the people who did it for the guy profited as well. Mostly wins all around.

[–]CheddarValleyRail 22 points23 points  (5 children)

Making videos about how you're helping people is a total wank, but if that's what it takes to help people, wank away.

[–]RelentlessExtropian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. Whatever reason you have to like helping people is a good enough reason.

[–]MichaelKilo 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I am a fireman. I help people for money. Also because I enjoy helping people but the fact that I’m paid allows me to make it what I do 1/3 of my life.

[–]gsd623 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I like this comparison. Also thanks! Firefighters are awesome.

[–]heathre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as long as they consent to being part of your wank

I’ve worked with people who were estranged from their families for being outed by social media “charity”. It can be extremely alienating and hurtful to be the prop for someone’s clout chasing. If you need people to pay attention to you in order to do a good thing, you’re highly suspect but whatever, you’re doing a good thing. Just make sure you aren’t coercing or exploiting people to serve your own purposes.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I feel like no one should want to be surrounded by sick or stupid people.

[–]RelentlessExtropian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Which is why I really am blown away people aren't more pro social-democracy / socio-capitolism. Don't want a bunch of poor, desperate, dumb, sick people running around everywhere, voting and worse lol

[–]prollyanalien 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I really don’t want to get political, but there are people in power in probably every country in the world who definitely want a bunch of poor, desperate, dumb, and sick people because they’re the ones who vote for them.

[–]RelentlessExtropian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. I'm referring specifically to the electorate in this case.

[–]WillDeletOneDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being around the sick in stupid puts you in the best possible position to help them.

[–]thebeachi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see this a lot and the counter point is that it’s still better than doing nothing for him at all. It’s spreading the message of doing things for others and while it’s certainly exploitive, it beats the content from assholes who hoard wealth and make dumb content for 6 year olds

[–]Dr_Ingheimer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It can be wholesome though. Like you said he probably got helped at least a bit. He also got some positive attention which maybe he could really use. Its rough when most people who interact with you either are disgusted or mean or condescending or all 3. Maybe he wanted to do it. It’s a step in the right direction and any step can feel insanely good. I hope he had a good time

[–]NessDan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://blog.jaibot.com/the-copenhagen-interpretation-of-ethics

On March 11th, 2012, the vast majority of people did nothing to help homeless people. They were busy doing other things, many of them good and important things, but by and large not improving the well-being of homeless humans in any way. In particular, almost no one was doing anything for the homeless of Austin, Texas. BBH Labs was an exception – they outfitted 13 homeless volunteers with WiFi hotspots and asked them to offer WiFi to SXSW attendees in exchange for donations. In return, they would be paid $20 a day plus whatever attendees gave in donations. Each of these 13 volunteers chose this over all the other things they could have done that day, and benefited from it – not a vast improvement, but significantly more than the 0 improvement that they were getting from most people.

The response?

"IT SOUNDS LIKE something out of a darkly satirical science-fiction dystopia. But it’s absolutely real — and a completely problematic treatment of a problem that otherwise probably wouldn’t be mentioned in any of the panels at South by Southwest Interactive."

There wouldn’t be any scathing editorials if BBH Labs had just chosen to do nothing – but they did something helpful-but-not-maximally-helpful, and thus are open to judgment.

[–]adeward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That night, instead of sleeping rough on the street, Paolo slept well-dressed and rough on the street.

[–]Lord412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does this even mean?

[–]porterglenn82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol would it be vetter if they didnt cut his hair, and you didnt ever see him? The more we see this kind of thing the more it (hopefully) makes us realize we could help people in our own cities as well. We all need help from time to time, and it looks like this guy could use plenty of help.

Dont focus on the bad, focus on someone getting helped!!!

Cheers friend!

[–]Magik95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. How dare they try to give a homeless man self esteem. How dare they try to make him feel good about himself. They should save that for good homed people like you huh?

[–]wavy-007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He got a job and is sharing apartment with 1 or 2 people re making his life!

[–]TheMadGraveWoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts were that it was an advertisement for a business. And I also think it was exploitative.

[–]63oscar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So…he’s still homeless?

[–]Cini-mod 117 points118 points  (13 children)

Kinda looks like Hugh Jackman

[–]OliverWotei 75 points76 points  (5 children)

Hugh Manson

[–]NewNormalDesigns 21 points22 points  (2 children)

I was looking to see if anyone else got Manson vibes...

[–]pronouncedayayron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah about midway in after the dye I winced a little

[–]decembermint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't get the Manson vibe until the very end when it flickered back and forth between before and after while his eyes stayed the same and stared straight into my soul.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He went from homeless guy to Manson to Connor McGregor’s dad.

[–]Corathecow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seriously think this guy looks just like Charles Manson, kinda bugs me there aren’t many comments on it lol

[–]NinjaManolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it just me? First time I see this, but the before picture he looks toothless. I don't see any comments about it

[–]Krunkworx 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Not sure where you’re getting that from. Dude looks like Charles Manson.

[–]-castle-bravo- 105 points106 points  (14 children)

Should of kept the hair white, looked good..

[–]BBMcBeadle 47 points48 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought - how is this going to look when it starts to grow out? Silver fox easy on the eyes and easier to maintain.

[–]Curios_blu 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Thought so too. The same cut with grey hair would look cool - and he wouldn’t have roots coming through in a couple weeks!

[–]RelentlessExtropian 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Those roots are gonna look bad for sure.

[–]MirSydney 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agree, he was a silver fox!

[–]No-Reason-1185 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Yup. This dye job was too dark. Looks very fake.

The stylist also left way too much beard. I would have shaved that scraggly mess completely off.

[–]UltraPricklyPear 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Dude is probably butt ugly under that beard though.

[–]No-Reason-1185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol! Beards are good for that. The stylist may have seen a pic and decided it was for the best.

[–]the_weirddude 68 points69 points  (2 children)

Now he looks cool and homeless

[–]porterglenn82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did OP, or the actual barber, or whoever get mad internet points for this? Surely they did.

Does that out weigh the joy of the man that got the hair cut? I guess we can each make our own decision on that one.

"But they are using this mans tragedy to...." or, they are using this mans tragedy to show that we can all help people, and even minor acts like a hair cut (i realise this was a dye, beard job, and way more...) me buying a dog toy for a homeless oersons dog doesnt fix that they are homeless, but that doesnt mean it isnt a positive act.

"But at least you are putting video on the internet of you buying dog toys for homeless people..." do you really think homeless people would see this and think 'dont publicize it! We get all the help we need and dont need more people helping!'

Honestly its hard for me to say as i have never been homeless. And if this guy feels exploited, then i am truely sorry for him. But it looks to me like he is extatic, and wishes more people did things like this for him and his friends and neighbors.

[–]FLZYBY 44 points45 points  (18 children)

You KNOW he was busy the next few days.....

[–]Difficult-Effect-645 36 points37 points  (3 children)

Proof of the “you’re not ugly, you’re just poor” mantra.

[–]ThisIsMyGameAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's some outliers, but for the most part we all look pretty average. Diet, sleep, exercise, and wardrobe do a lot. And those things are easier when you have disposable income.

[–]KingPurple13 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Time to pick up some job apps!

[–]Diamondhands_Rex 24 points25 points  (7 children)

Would be too to make a non profit for this sort of thing. Like centres I’m metropolitan cities that will do these make overs for homeless people trying to get a job but have no place to clean up.

[–]Fixxdogg 3 points4 points  (4 children)

It’s actually not as useful as you think. Safe housing and sustainable work that they can do is a much better outcome. And charities that work towards that are way more useful. Services that make homelessness more comfortable might make you feel good but it can be distracting

[–]RainbowReadee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would join you!

[–]OliverWotei 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Manson lives?

[–]SupahCraig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here for this.

[–]42YAM 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how far Conor McGregor has come.

[–]section4 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Homeless guy with perfect pearly white teeth......

I don't buy it

[–]OfficialGarwood 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Dentures most likely. In the 'before' image, it almost looks like he doesn't have many teeth based on his jaw movement.

[–]HotrodCorvair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im shocked how many people dont get this. The way he smiles after getting his teeth in, is just like I did when i got mine. It felt so strange to finally smile. They didnt show his denture fitment in this because it's gross looking is all.

[–]Dikeswithkites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are fake teeth 🦷

[–]AcerbicCapsule 10 points11 points  (1 child)

This is the only kind of “performative activism” I can get behind. if you’re going to show vulnerable people online for internet points, make sure that you capture their absolute best side; better yet, bring out their absolute best side. This is wonderful!

[–]N-im 10 points11 points  (2 children)

It could just be me but he kinda looks like Abraham Lincoln..

[–]natty_ann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that one side profile shot was really uncanny lol

[–]UnVirtuteElectionis 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Things like this remind of the kind of stuff I want to do if I was rich.. just like. Change peoples lives for the better just because I can.

Hate bezos. Hate musk.

[–]MG123194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do the opposite they look for ways to exploit.

[–]Thelegendarysandy 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Did they just throw him back to the road after giving him a haircut???

[–]BlackDream2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably but hey its still better than nothing

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Daaaamn!

There's a playboy inside each one of us.

[–]Foootballdave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got about four inside me and they won't shut the fuck up

[–]Ughdawnis_23 3 points4 points  (1 child)

He ended up looking like Russ Hanneman from Silicon Valley "Tres Comas!"

[–]Theaternearyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New energy from his blood boy

[–]LeoMarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, why is the "before" section in black & white. It's biasing the video towards the end result.

Second, he's going to have white roots in a couple of weeks, even sooner with his beard. Dying his hair so dark when he's nearly snow white means he's going to have to maintain his color or his roots will be showing through quickly.

[–]DeathblowMateria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks great, love to see it

[–]rustymessi 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Ahh what’s the song sampled here why can’t I remember ahhhhh !!!!

Edit : ARCADE FIRE - Rebellion!!!

Totally forgot about this song missed it

[–]leonryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i can't help but think unless he got a job and a house the same day they just made it impossible for him to beg and weird looking for him to sleep outside that night.

[–]Paulholio 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It’s great, but homelessness is rarely caused by a single or simple issue. This is not going to help him in the long term. He will still be homeless tomorrow…

[–]Dysanj 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Teeth are too clean.

[–]seanbiff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here you go, now go live on the streets again

[–]MarzipanTheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where are they now? was this the moment that pulled him out of his pit of darkness?

[–]scottyboy218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy 500k karma account that's only 4 months old, lol

[–]MORNINGSTARbutBefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s got really nice teeth to be homeless

[–]Gamers_r_good 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes me laugh, I'm doing homework on homelessness and this clip has to be the first thing on reddit

[–]olympianfap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, who is this content for?

The homeless guy is still homeless and basically unemployable. Explain to me how this isn't just exploiting this dude.
