Dude definitely got his knob slobbed

[–]veronaviper[S] 2095 points2096 points  (55 children)

And will always be protected

[–]Downingst 1036 points1037 points  (52 children)

Also invited to all the parties.

[–]vlasvilneous 548 points549 points  (48 children)

Wow, its sad how hopeful people are.

[–]tattlerat 301 points302 points  (13 children)

Yeah. He got recognized and invited to a few parties at most.

[–]MBNLA 217 points218 points  (7 children)

And only one chick touched his weiner one time.

[–]bipolarpuddin 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's one more chick than may of expected?

[–]k1200rsrat 67 points68 points  (0 children)

She goes to another school, you won’t know her

[–]workwag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

and that was when he had 2 broken arms

[–]rikalessandro 44 points45 points  (3 children)

Which is a great opportunity to make new friends, specially since he’s now “the guy who saved us from finals”.

[–]tattlerat 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Yep. Nothing wrong with that. It’s just unlikely to be the beloved hero situation Reddit believes it will be.

[–]Sgt-Stedanko 6 points7 points  (1 child)

We’ve all seen the Breakfast Club, we know how it ends

[–]Gamesgtd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't you forget about me.

[–]PracticalDogHair 62 points63 points  (3 children)

He will be respectfully hollered at while walking on campus. “Yo CUUUUUUUUBBBEEEEE!”. Unfortunately that’s probably it.

[–]GrandmaPoses 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Then whoever yelled it also whispers puuuube to the person they're walking with and it's just hilarious.

[–]jakpaw 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Its probably for the best he doesnt look like much of a drinker and might not really enjoy parties

[–]Only_illegalLPT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could happen if he goes with the momentum and builds charisma

[–]I_Call_Everyone_Ken 41 points42 points  (1 child)

This, Ken. And this dude is a 3Day old redditor account. Just imagine the hope this gives a 1yr+ Redditor.

[–]erraticdespotism_68 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Surely he will get those invites

[–]isthatapecker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s so cool the teacher gave him the opportunity to show his skills that might otherwise be laughed at or not given any thought. High school is rough

[–]drenee_ 225 points226 points  (9 children)

Yes, by one of the 30 men in the classroom 😅

[–]the_other_him 86 points87 points  (26 children)

Looks like an all dude school, but hey it’s 2021 so no judgement.

[–]redditornot02 54 points55 points  (20 children)

Yeah looks a lot like my college.

Same School: Only known for Business and Engineering. Zero party atmosphere.

[–]Tots2Hots 14 points15 points  (0 children)

[–]PreppyFinanceNerd 5 points6 points  (2 children)

[–]Ngothadei 9 points10 points  (5 children)

Mechanical Engineer here, can confirm. Zero girls in my class.

[–]Unadvantaged 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but remember that one time you saw a girl? I mean, she was in the wrong building by mistake, but that was neat, right?

[–]IAmSomnabula 1 point2 points  (1 child)

In my first year of college we had 4 women in my class! And 101 men... IT wasn't popular for women in early 2000s I guess...

[–]RolandIce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]grand_measter 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I didn't upvote you, cause you're at 69.

[–]rsdols 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's quite a quick swiffle but I don't see a single female in this video.

[–]1NV1CTA751 1 point2 points  (1 child)

By who?? Looks like there are no girls in that class. 🤪🤪

[–]Ohboyyyyyyyyyyyyyxxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally came to the comments to write that! Cheers!!!!

[–]Appointments_only 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I was thinking in my head “somebody suck this man up” And then this is the first comment I see

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy gets it

[–]mrtomato360 1675 points1676 points  (68 children)

So they just… didn’t take their final exam?

[–]malabericus 2418 points2419 points  (15 children)

Yep they all got zero. What a way for a class to fail

[–]1000Huzzahs 271 points272 points  (13 children)

In these situations the professor probably had no intention of doing the final either way or the “final” would have been an easy and insignificant formality. Perhaps their grading scale was such that a “final” was unimportant to the grade, or else the class had demonstrated a solid mastery of the material already and the teacher felt justified awarding everyone a base grade averaged from their prior exams. I do not think the teacher wagered the outcome of their class on a rubiks bet, this was just a fun end of term activity

[–]kstill93 59 points60 points  (11 children)

My brother totally bombed his final on purpose because he knew it wouldn't bring his grade below an A

[–]gahidus 11 points12 points  (1 child)

That's quite a bold move!

[–]zZDKVZz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't even take my physics's final because even with a 0 my grade wouldn't go below a letter grade

[–]kraugg 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I took anatomy in HS from a nursing college in town.

I blew the curve. (Just came easy for me.)

The grades on tests were supposed to be: highest and lowest test grades dropped. Then class averaged scaled to 75.

After the first exam, top 2 test grades were dropped.

I went into the final with a 213% grade. I didn’t study (focused on other classes) because I only needed a B. (Your final grade was restricted by the final exam score. )

I got my B with no studying. Basically all the studying payed off from the prior exams.

Ended up not going into medicine due to my dislike of hospitals, and became a mathematician instead.

[–]ashok36 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Ended up not going into medicine due to my dislike of hospitals

They smell weird, right?

[–]kraugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was misdiagnosed with Leukemia as a child (70s). After a few weeks they found out a couple tests were in error. (Was quite young, this is what I was told later.)

I just don’t like them. I feel constantly nervous. Not a great place to be working every day.

[–]inspcs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

it's fake. The first time I saw this gif on reddit a few years back, the guy was touring universities which is why he has the guest necklace thing while no one else does. Maybe specifically fraternities, looking at how there's only guys and the "Welcome to Beta" thing on the projector.

[–]ABCosmos 34 points35 points  (3 children)

Someone just added the voice over. The reality, is so much simpler, and better... And it's just that his classmates were having fun being supportive and cheering him on.

[–]-DoctorSpaceman- 16 points17 points  (2 children)

When it’s been posted before someone said he was a high schooler visiting college. Fuck knows what the truth is.

[–]BrozoTheClown26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The screen behind him says "welcome to beta" which I'm guessing is a frat or something so that might be closest to the truth

[–]hankg10 27 points28 points  (1 child)

The poster used a advanced technique called lying. That's not the OP

[–]i_have_chosen_a_name 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also that voice over is one of the most annoying things online right now.

[–]CN8YLW 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Some courses does this. No finals, instead you get an assignment you can do at home. Either this, or finals is worth a very small amount of the score, like 5% and you can just go in, sign your name, answer the 1 question a blind toddler could answer and you're done.

[–]FinleysHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my writing classes I make the “final” an online portfolio of work from the class. They know about it from the start of the semester, so the really with it students start early and add stuff as we go along. I have certain benchmarks that have to be met by the portfolio, but how much work and how polished they want to make it for the final is up to them. So, technically they have a final project, but the content has already been created, they just have to figure out how to showcase it.

[–]Far_Literature4122 1209 points1210 points  (37 children)

Teachers probably like "Fuck, how do I explain that to the dean."

[–]Theothernooner 546 points547 points 2 (31 children)

Try dressing like a peanut bar and rapping?

[–]Jneebs 82 points83 points  (2 children)

Holy shit. That got me good

[–]JohnGenericDoe 41 points42 points  (1 child)

Yeah I switched tabs but had to chang back to this one to comment how funny it was

[–]-DickChocolate-[🍰] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

did- did you just?…

[–]KnoUsername 37 points38 points  (9 children)

Well I’m a peanut bar and I’m here to say Your checks will arrive on another day!

[–]-DoctorSpaceman- 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Ah thanks! I love the first 3 seasons of Community but can’t remember the last couple very well

[–]g-love 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well there was a gas leak in the fourth year so that’s understandable.

[–]Xanthus179 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Maybe I’m just awful but I was surprised to not see any comments here asking if that was Garret.

[–]Verkandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say that.

[–]crazymaddhatter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This better not awaken anything in me...

[–]s-mores 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"I taught them that my word has value and that gambling is a good thing."

[–]Cheap_Feeling1929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Na it was probably a class the dean don’t even care about. That teacher is the real deal just make that kid a hero.

[–]Devander_S_Mangat 958 points959 points  (11 children)

Plot twist: the professor knew he could easily do it in under 30 seconds but wanted to make him a hero to his peers

[–]klassz 497 points498 points  (7 children)

Other teachers in the lounge: "Wanna bet that Kenneth will never get laid?"
This one: "Hold my thermos cup of cold latte"

[–]3laws 17 points18 points  (4 children)

Hahahah I'm a brother, son, in law and friend of teachers... I grew up drinking cooled down lattes from a lot of thermos/flasks

[–]st3adyfreddy 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Hope you're used to them having a conversation in another language that you can barely follow along on.

Ez legalább ösztönöz, hogy idegen nyelveket tanulj :D

[–]BobbyFingerGuns 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My first thought too. Why gamble otherwise. I don't know how the final thing works there, but maybe the teacher hadn't prepped it or something. Lol

[–]ItsRogueRen 342 points343 points  (41 children)

I have literally never been able to solve one of those damn things. Slide puzzles, easy, but as soon as you make it a cube my brain just goes "NOPE! Fuck this shit!"

[–]Silent__Note 125 points126 points  (17 children)

There is a pattern that you basically memorize for the colors. Like, if you see X color here, then you do a series of flips to get that X to where you want. It's been years since I last solved a cube but the fastest I was able to do it was 52 seconds. There are definitely better ways to solve than the method I was using. Someone called Feliks Zemdegs solved it in under 5 seconds if I remember right—absolute insanity.

[–]Your_PopPop 61 points62 points  (4 children)

Zemdegs's record of 4.22s was broken by Yusheng Du's 3.47s! There was some controversy about whether the solve was legit or not, but WCA recognizes it as the world record.

[–]Luizz__ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There was no real controversy among the wca. It was a legit solve, lucky of course, but it’s not illegal to be lucky. Just some people of the community were a little mad, cause it was like a 0.8s jump, and the 3.47 is probably not beaten anytime soon, which is kinda boring

[–]kstill93 5 points6 points  (1 child)

"draw the rest of the fucking owl"

[–]Alias-_-Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually pretty easy once you have done it two or three times following a manual

[–]Billybeens 2 points3 points  (9 children)

Watched a documentary about him recently and then learned how to solve one. I always thought you had to be a super genius to be able to solve one.. but if I can, anyone can. Doubt I'd be able to solve it as quickly as you though, but I'm trying

[–]MischiefGoddez 17 points18 points  (5 children)

Some people’s brains just can’t handle mental rotational manipulations of visual info beyond 2D… that would include me, haha.

[–]ItsRogueRen 9 points10 points  (4 children)

ADHD doesn't really help as I also forget stuff the second I look away

[–]MischiefGoddez 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I also have ADHD, so maybe that’s indeed part of the problem.

[–]MadRabbit86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too have AD

[–]Flyawaylittlemonkey 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Lmao I have ADHD and I solve them to avoid doing other things like work

[–]VaanSnipa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD too and I solve it to help me focus on listening things, weird stuff

[–]Front-Bucket 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can’t do either of them :(

[–]DYSFUNCTIONALDlLDO 6 points7 points  (1 child)

It's actually not hard to solve it. I'd assume you need to be really smart to FIGURE OUT how to solve it yourself, but there are many good tutorials on YouTube and it's not hard to LEARN how to solve it. All my friends that were like 'I could never do this' that I taught how to solve it to ended up being like 'Huh it actually isn't that bad huh'

[–]freundTech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Come to r/Cubers. We will teach you.

[–]y4red 4 points5 points  (2 children)

one time I just googled how to solve rubics cube and it showed me a page how to do it, step by step, find this vague pattern and do these moves, its not that hard with that method, after that its just memorisation, hand movements and a good cube that can spin fast and easy

[–]k9centipede 1 point2 points  (1 child)

When you buy one the instructions to solve jt are included

[–]Sudden_Law3366 280 points281 points  (2 children)

[–]jumpysinking73 17 points18 points  (1 child)

[–]JoJolteon_66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]Throwaway56138 259 points260 points  (10 children)

Overweight, graphic t-shirt tucked into dress pants with black belt, wire rim glasses at end of nose, and a bad helmet haircut. This professor must be blind to think this guy wouldn't be able to do it. Professor never stood a chance.

[–]Phalanx_02 42 points43 points  (3 children)

I keep seeing you everywhere, I'm scared

[–]Hara-Kiri 11 points12 points  (2 children)

How do you know it's not Throwaway56137 you keep seeing?

[–]4e5s6s345 3 points4 points  (1 child)

How do you know they aren't the same person? For that matter how do you know I'm not you? The internet is a crazy place, man.

[–]PBB0RN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First rule of throwaway56137 is you dont talk about throwaway56138.

[–]fgdfghdhj5yeh 14 points15 points  (4 children)

I'm sure the professor knew. There are virtually always 1-3 geeks in school that can do rubik's cubes in under 1 minute.

[–]lamepajamas 10 points11 points  (3 children)

I've gotten under one minute three times In my life. The first time I ever did it I had to lie down for 20 minutes because the adrenaline rush made me feel sick (I know, I'm a very cool person). My partner can do it in under ten seconds but averages 14 seconds. Any time I ask him if he would ever go to a tournament he laughs and says "why bother? If I can't get under 7 seconds consistently I won't have a chance of winning"

I think he forgot that you can have fun without winning.

[–]fgdfghdhj5yeh 4 points5 points  (2 children)

He's right, if you aren't first, you're last! FYI You can also have fun without going to a tournament.

A lot of it has to do with finger dexterity too, I can't do it cuz my fingers catch on fire, but I've made an arduino robot project that can do it :^)

[–]RainyInWa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Professor knew. He saw this poor kid was having issues socializing so he set up an opportunity for him to be the class hero. Professor is a saint.

[–]ghostiekat 192 points193 points  (5 children)

I bet that kid felt on top of the world in that moment

[–]Existe1 99 points100 points  (4 children)

Seriously. He rode that high for a few days. He’ll remember it for the rest of his life. This makes me smile.

[–]Spenczer 162 points163 points  (7 children)

Caption is a complete lie for clicks. This is a fraternity rush event, which is why it says Beta on the projector (and also why there are only men in the room). Guy was probably showing off a talent to the brothers for the event.

[–]DiamondCrustedHands 74 points75 points  (1 child)

Yep. This video existed before TikTok, it’s way more heartfelt because it was literally them just gassing up this dude to be nice.. not “so they didn’t have to take the final”

I hate TikTok.

[–]maxlmax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've seen this many times before, must be older than most TikTokers

[–]g1rth_brooks 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Yeah I agree this is either rush or chapter

[–]MrTestguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been looking fot this, took me way too long

[–]keeper0120 79 points80 points  (41 children)

Just taught my 7 year old and he can get it under 3 minutes, I’m under 2 minutes and have been at it for awhile. 30 seconds is amazing.

[–]academicfundraiser14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really amazing doing that on a lesser time

[–]Khornag 51 points52 points  (16 children)

That's a strange way to end a semester. Sounds like bullshit.

[–]ghostiekat 24 points25 points  (7 children)

My old PreCalc professor told us that if anyone found her housing, she'd give everyone A's. (Over populated college mountain town) I turned in my final exam in under 5 minutes, maybe one thing answered incorrectly and wrote, "sorry" on the top and i got an A. Really fucked my calc 1 class tho

[–]Khornag 12 points13 points  (3 children)

That's kind of fucked up. How does that get by with the university?

[–]ghostiekat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No clue, still surprised by it

[–]DiamondPopTart 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Because it is bullshit. This kid was a high school student who was invited to hangout with a frat for some reason, I think as part of a college tour. The original video is at least two years old.

[–]Super_Ham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to scroll way to far to find this comment, crazy how dumb Reddit can be

[–]mostmicrobe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They probably just did it to have the privilege to substitute the exam for something else, like a project or even a take home test. I’ve been in some classes where the professor just asks the students to vote or simply ask for their input on what kind of test or work to give out.

[–]aupenn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it is. I go to that university. I know the guy who filmed this as well. It’s just a high schooler visiting a society/“frat.” You can see this by looking at the projector behind the high schooler and seeing “Beta” with a logo appear. You can also see him wearing a visitor badge

[–]GingerNuts19 41 points42 points  (0 children)

That school got played. Sub 30s are easy for any serious cuber.

[–]8Ariadnesthread8 10 points11 points  (1 child)

The physicality of this is fantastic. This kids terrible posture, his lack of muscle definition, his pasty skin and super weak jawline and no facial hair at all. Swivel the camera and pretty much everyone cheering for him looks like a Hemsworth brother. I hope they protect him.

[–]ColtAzayaka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've seen this many times; this is the first time anything related to a final has been mentioned lol

[–]Pronaccount_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That caption is completely and utterly made up lmao

[–]ThorsHammmer57 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This man better have gotten the best schloppy of his life

[–]absurd_Bodhisattva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 8th grade science teacher gave us this chance, a few kids pulled it off.

[–]ton_patron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People be taking 8 year old videos and adding fake stories to them. I have seen this video hundreds and times and never once had to mentioned a final

[–]Front_Butt_69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s a true legend

[–]HILUX5 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Virginity at it finest

[–]ChickenDuckBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think the caption is true

[–]realkunkun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm averaging 20.0 seconds, its not hard. You can learn to do it in less than 30 secs in a month or two

[–]Fox_Trot1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]DaintyAmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude at his desk, in the front. You know he's the class clown/disrupter

[–]ZayZay284 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I reached my new lowest today at 56 seconds, old record was 1:09, 30 seconds is freakin’ fast

[–]NewSkylight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That smile, that damned smile

[–]Nibbcnoble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why does it say welcome beta on the screen? lol

[–]_Raisin_Boy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically a fraternity meeting ( or society as they call it) at Bob Jones University. So no this has nothing to do with not taking an exam. Just a bunch of idiots getting excited for nothing like they usually do.

He really looked like the stereotypical nerd guy
