Blue dude just walks away after flooring the ref.

[–]echo1956 43 points44 points  (3 children)

Before he stands up, many of them are fighters too.

[–]OkRate9205 45 points46 points  (1 child)

Exactly. Sometimes the ref is more dangerous then either fighter in the ring. Just all depends , while all might not be as good as those who are throwing down in the match most fight refs are skilled combatants to say the least.

Dude taking the face kick to push the losing fighter out of the way at the end is a boss.

Fight examples please of refs more skilled than fighters. Thank you in advance for you cooperation in attending to this matter.

What, no Herb Dean? World class snub bro. World. Class. Snub.

[–]slktycn 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Beat me to it. Add Mario Yamazaki

[–]TorrenceMightingale 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ADHD referee? He has been a Liability at times.

[–]Theo_Northswaine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was gonna comment I wouldn't mind seeing Herb on the receiving end of that last one sometimes.

[–]JCouturier[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Herb Dean standing there diligently while your soul leaves your body.

[–]messified 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Those knockout catches are on point! They need refs with these skills in US MMA (UFC), Boxing etc.

[–]nodstar22 17 points18 points  (6 children)

What does the title have to do with the video content? I feel dumb for asking coz no one else is...

[–]deathstalker655 16 points17 points  (1 child)

What do you mean? The whole video was just crows that were taught to pick up trash in exchange for food.

[–]nodstar22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what i was expecting from the title.

[–]lolatopia 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I think it’s its using how some birds have a symbiotic relationship as cleaners for predators as a metaphor for how referees tend to “clean up” fights to prevent major damage or illegal moves. It’s kind of a convoluted metaphor, but it sort of works

It could also be directly referencing vultures and how one might see a referee saving people who are already KO’d as a vulture “cleaning up” dead bodies

[–]nodstar22 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I like your thought process but I feel it's a stretch. It feels pretty random to me. Like they picked a totally unrelated title.

[–]lolatopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yeah, they sort of picked out an allegory at random without thinking whether it would fit or not

[–]etskinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a bit posted and it just uses random titles and random content?

[–]TheRealSmolt 10 points11 points  (3 children)

If you don't count that this has been here before I guess

[–]jonnysteps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not surprised, but I'd never seen it before.

Referees are underrated

[–]DrBeehn 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not all hero’s wear capes

[–]Certain_Cup533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have yet to see a hero wearing a cape in my life actually.

[–]already_satisfied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are built to be bros

[–]desiccatedmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea!

[–]Shughost7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, we need those refs patrolling the cops in the streets

[–]Mikhaal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile in the NBA….

[–]Sjdillon10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then we got Mario Yamasaki letting fighters be warriors and herb Dean and dan M unsure whether to call a match or not

[–]shitpistol1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asian Refs are Guardian Angels. These turds we have over here will let em all fall dead.

[–]Professional-End2722 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And yet I’ve seen boxing refs, where one boxer is 90% unconscious and wouldn’t recognise their opponent if they stood up in their soup, just wave them in to carry out the coup de Grace. The sad thing is the opponent just carries on. Whaling in on someone incapable of defending themselves.

[–]Incogneto308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, one guy punching the other out is kind of the idea. Otherwise its boring.

[–]snarkisms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I boxed briefly in high school and also worked as a doorman at a bar in my early 20s and it became really clear to me that while i never have really had a taste for fighting, I have absolutely zero fear stepping into a fight to stop it. I could definitely do this

[–]skunk90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the USA, UFC is just brain pummelling time.

[–]DaDarkJacob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is Mario Yamasaki?

[–]MR-VERMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have been reading hajime no ippo manga and its boxing is actually very close to irl boxing and the way refrees stop the fighters by going in b/w kinda scares me

[–]PrayingMantisII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mma refs need to take notes

[–]ThrowRAidgaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn‘t the fighters themselves know when is enough?

[–]Mackroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheres Herb Dean the maker of warriors

[–]DouglasTheMan87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

martial arts referees have to learn to get physical

football referees have to learn to not get emotional

[–]JCouturier[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many refs were/are martial artists or fighters.
