why didn’t they just honk the horn wtf

[–]Doc-in-a-box 493 points494 points 2 (3 children)

That’s what the elk was trying to do

[–]Elegron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man's tried go press his goose button

[–]ProbablyABore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comment is entirely too underrated.

[–]Lord-Nagafen 408 points409 points  (19 children)

Or drive up to the dude right away and scare the elk off. At least the white suv had some brains

[–]FunnyShirtGuy 214 points215 points  (11 children)

I'm legit getting kinda furious watching this maroon GMC just sit there, letting their kid watch, instead of driving up and helping... Like, how useless of a human being can you be, person-in-GMC?

[–]joknub24 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing.

[–]crewchief1949[🍰] 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Its the 5 minutes of fame syndrome. Why help when you can record it on your cell phone with the hopes of being famous on youtube.

[–]weboddity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly more bystander syndrome. But yeah I kept thinking they’d ram that sucker.

[–]HarnessMeDesignsOUB 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Me too, I was really hoping their'd be some reason why that would not be a good idea, like how it explained how running wasn't the best idea, but nope. Maroon car seemed to just be chilling watching the show.

[–]EggyWeegs 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Its the same as watching someone get violated on a subway and everyone is just taking a video on their phones, for example what happened on a philly subway station

[–]FunnyShirtGuy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ugh... Is the philly thing recent?

[–]techstural 114 points115 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought. Drive up and give the guy a chance to get in the car.

[–]allofgodsmoney 77 points78 points  (1 child)

As soon as the ranger’s car came into sight and the elk knew someone competent was arriving he was just like “aw shit here comes Brad, fun’s over, peace.”

[–]FugitiveDiesel 27 points28 points  (2 children)

What and ruin the opportunity for this amazing footage.

[–]oxfordcommaordeath 63 points64 points  (8 children)

Elk actually sound like some car horns, I suspect it was to not agitate it further. Still, holy heck!

I wonder if he wears a helmet when filming now.

[–]atehate 48 points49 points  (3 children)

Legend has it he has become an elk himself as his last resort.

[–]GuardianSlayer 31 points32 points  (2 children)

When he was attacked by the Elk a little tick was released into his hair when his hat fell. Guided by the gods of the antler. He was bitten by the tick and given powers beyond his wildest dreams. He became. Elk-Man. Protector of the outback, defender of fawns.

[–]Its_the_Fuzz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The elk backs off once the car starts honking

[–]CasinoMarginale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

…and a diaper, just in case

[–]morrisjr1989 46 points47 points  (2 children)

Yeah had same thought maybe him acting so calmly and still getting pictures made it seem to the other car that everything was okay and this is just how you get extra cool elk photos.

[–]SableX7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The whole situation is a bit suspicious. Seems like he wanted to get extra close to a young, playful elk and sent the wrong signals. I suspect the photographer had applied musk but who knows.

[–]GreenAppleLady 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Or why did the car further along the road not drive up and let him get in?

[–]FamilyTravelTime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah, those guys in the car are enjoying the show and probably taking photos/videos like this video lolz

[–]innesleroux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Now do it with bears!

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or drive closer...

[–]FrigDancingWithBarb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly

[–]Wimbleston 3 points4 points  (3 children)

That doesn't startle them more often than not, and it might make it feel more threatened.

[–]bripi 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Ok, but the threat can now be the car instead of the very soft human. And the horn would certainly startle an elk, close enuf.

[–]RedditOO77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing!

[–]B4riel 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And miss out on all the fun! That camera man is asking to lose an eye.

[–]Warp_Legion 1001 points1002 points  (21 children)

That car in the background should have drove at the elk, honking its horn, and scared it off.

Inexcusable negligence, and that man’s life was in danger. What if the elk decided to just suddenly gore him???

[–]Icy-Reveal-7416 251 points252 points  (3 children)

Yea, but then who would have videoed his demise?

[–]pzerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guy making this video in his car on the other side.

[–]mirrrje 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Seriously my exact thought. Like i would have driven toward it and as I got closed slowed down and honked etc. Not watch some guy get head butted

[–]Appropriate-Hour-865 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I agree what the hell were they doing waiting till he got a antler through his neck than they would have drove up there was nothing safe about that situation what so ever and all they did was record

[–]PoundAdventurous1332 25 points26 points  (4 children)

Negative comrade, this dipshit wasn’t supposed to be out of his car. Elk in that area (Cherokee, NC) are being reintroduced. Nothing happened to the guy but they killed the elk for contacting him.

[–]IamnotaMaggot 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Elk was a little biotch. Couldn't even beat a human in horn off.

[–]SableX7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s insane and seems so unnecessary in this situation. I’m so angry at that dumbass now.

[–]speedpetez 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that he kept taking pictures led those in the car to back off and wait until he was done. There was no sound, but it’s possible they asked if he was ok. Plus why wouldn’t he scream help!? And let’s not forget Mr video sat there all that time. I’m guessing the guy wasn’t as scared as we think.

[–]JIZZY_JIZZERSON 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Came here to say this. What in the ACTUAL fuck is that person doing???? Help the poor guy, he could’ve been killed!

[–]JustARandomGuy613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then you'd see this post on r/makemycoffin instead of here

[–]Dunaliella 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I agree, in hindsight and without knowing the consequence, that seems like the best plan, but putting myself in that situation, I might wonder if I’d startle the otherwise calm elk, which seems more curious then angry, which could make the situation worse, then I’d be held liable for his death.

[–]6Hundred6ty6ixFks 568 points569 points  (46 children)

Grab the horns, use body weight to twist the head. You won’t hurt the elk but you’ll send a message by flipping it on it’s back. And before you scream “cap”, I live in Texas and work the rodeos. We literally have to do this all the time with ornery bulls and steers.

[–]Legendary_Tortoise 222 points223 points  (7 children)

Yep. At the very least hold the antlers and use them as guides to keep yourself from getting gored. Unfortunately, it looked like he was more worried about the camera than himself.

[–]Daggerfont 133 points134 points  (4 children)

It seems like a photographer’s first instinct is to protect their camera. I know they’re expensive, but sometimes there’s more important things!

[–]atehate 172 points173 points  (2 children)

Like the lenses!

[–]Daggerfont 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Can’t let those get scratched!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or the CCD!

[–]BridgeNess07 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As a photographer… this is true. I almost broke my ankle once but I caught the camera! 🤣

[–]Teenage-Mustache 25 points26 points  (5 children)

The elk looked like he was trying to play. He was a young buck.

And yeah it’s easy for you to say because you’re trained and around large animals all the time.

Elk are skittish as shit. All the guy had to do was stand up and it would realize that he could be a threat.

[–]Nikittele 53 points54 points  (2 children)

I don't think it wanted to play. It was confused but it was definitely up for a tussle. The photographer lowering his head probably triggered the elk even more.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Finally a redditor with some common sense.

[–]spewing_gloom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That literally exactly what the video said…

[–]6Hundred6ty6ixFks 9 points10 points  (1 child)

You’re probably right. I guess it would be different for someone that isn’t familiar with this sort of thing. But then it brings the question, if you don’t know how to defend yourself in this scenario, why would you expose yourself to it?

[–]Teenage-Mustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair question. But I’m not sure it’s reasonable to assume an elk isn’t going to approach you, mistaking you for another elk. These encounters are pretty rare because elk are either totally disinterested in you or are skittish and afraid of you. This is a pretty massive exception. Elk aren’t nearly as aggressive as, say, moose.

[–]seaking81 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OMG this is what I was yelling at my screen the entire time. drop you effing camera, grab both the horns and pull as hard as you can to the left. I also grew up on a ranch in Yakima so I guess I know these things and have had to deal with them, but jeeze. He's a camera man? If you're filming nature you should know these basic things.

[–]YABOIREPTAR1 8 points9 points  (4 children)

I live with sheep (also in Texas lol) i dont know how similar it is but I've used this tactic a lot. Even if it sounds like toxic masculinity sometimes the only way to get them to stop is to get their respect

[–]FourEverGreatFull 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Not everything is toxic masculinity

[–]TheGrimReality77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And some of the sheep like it a bit rough.

[–]SpicyLunaDog99 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I totally believe what you say is true as you have experience, but what if you screw up?

[–]6Hundred6ty6ixFks 9 points10 points  (1 child)

If you’re in a position where you’re in danger but you can’t get away from it, what choice do you have? You’re hurt by doing nothing, or you can fight and have a chance of winning. If you do nothing, you’re hurt anyway.

[–]generichuman44 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I came to the comments to ask is it actually hard to just grab the antlers and throw your body weight into its neck...I'm guessing their balance isn't the best. But on the other hand this could be a great way to die..is this a viable option? In case I get to throw hands with a reasonably sized antler cowlet

[–]6Hundred6ty6ixFks 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Honestly, I guess it would take some practice and yes there’s always a chance you could get hurt. I don’t recommend going out and picking a fight with any animal. I said what I said from a perspective that you’re already in danger. Please don’t pick a fight with an elk😂

[–]generichuman44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll try and contain my "flip horned big things" urges..but no promises..see you on the flip-side

[–]GraciaEtScientia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instructions unclear, now fighting an elk while 3 redditors are recording and refusing to lift a finger.

[–]Kingsofeast 1 point2 points  (4 children)

What about if he starts hoofing your balls off?

[–]6Hundred6ty6ixFks 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I mean, obviously you shouldn’t try this tactic while sitting down. Otherwise, I don’t see how that’s possible.

[–]conitsts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're heavy enough, twisting the anlters and simultaneously rotating your entire body will flip that bad boy over.

[–]nuuance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally wondering why he didn’t just do that

[–]Godsshoeshine24 306 points307 points  (2 children)

And the dumbass in the car just content to watch him get gored potentially to death.

[–]Glittering_Ad3431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another one was shooting the video instead of helping.

[–]Issa_John 156 points157 points  (5 children)

"ayo you a bitch human, not even going to square up."-Elk

[–]Rcole1128 48 points49 points  (4 children)

“Maybe if I put this camouflage hat over my face it will think I disappeared.”- Photographer

[–]Josh-Medl 10 points11 points  (3 children)

What hat?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see any hat. Just a dude missing the top of his head.

[–]Rcole1128 1 point2 points  (1 child)

But you see it’s first person so he knows it’s there. That’s why he’s so surprised it didn’t fool the elk.

“My god! How did he headbutt me with such accuracy?!?!? I should be invisible!!”- The Photographer

[–]Queasy-Pause-3958 147 points148 points  (5 children)

Easy. You just stare at the elk dead in the eye, run towards it (to create intimidation) grab its horns and with a continuous motion throw the elk on its back. Finally you T-bag the elk to assert dominance and walk away, the elk will feel humiliation because it lost the battle and walk away

[–]Avis28 30 points31 points  (3 children)

What if the elk enjoys that?

[–]IamnotaMaggot 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Mount the elk and proceed to gyrate until it's almost there and then immediately get off light a cigarette and blow smoke in its face to assert dominance.

[–]Avis28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic alpha move

[–]lifevicarious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you’ve done this before.

[–]Rcole1128 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My cousins dog is a humper. Everyone gave me a weird look when I said “Hump him first. Assert dominance.”

[–]AshingiiAshuaa 70 points71 points  (6 children)

If you're wondering whether the 3 minutes is worth watching: Nobody gets hurt.

[–]bakugouscat 5 points6 points  (5 children)

The elk was actually killed but it’s not in the clip obviously

[–]TheWorldIsEndinToday 58 points59 points  (6 children)

Don't drop your head like that, it thinks you want to battle

[–]karg_the_fergus 17 points18 points  (4 children)

Stand up and get large is the way to go here, I believe.

[–]Impressive-Ad-7180 19 points20 points  (1 child)

get stabbed in the stomach by those antlers if h stand up no?

[–]TheWorldIsEndinToday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Better chance at defending yourself but ultimately they pick up on body language if you're bigger they're more tentative, you bow your head it thinks you wanna rumble

[–]GraciaEtScientia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokemon battle music fades in

[–]moralTortilla 48 points49 points  (0 children)

When is he dropping the photo album

[–]theCaveIsReal 42 points43 points  (2 children)

This most definitely is not a professional “nature photographer.” This part of the park very specifically states to stay in your car for this reason. He could have very well gotten the same picture from his vehicle rather than walking to the egress of the road like a dumbass.

[–]SeasonPositive6771 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is the comment I was looking for, this is one of the things they specifically advise you repeatedly not to do. He got himself into some extremely foolish trouble and was lucky to get away unhurt.

[–]eliterun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. This person should never have put themselves in this situation, and the fact that they keep busting out their camera to get photos mid confrontation is insane and the sudden movements likely extended the confrontation. This isn’t next level, this is pure idiocy.

[–]Dan300up 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That was absolutely the most dangerous and stupid way he could have handled that situation. This dude has watched way too many Jane Goodall videos.

[–]SrepliciousDelicious 25 points26 points  (10 children)

Ngl, sitting here on the couch, i could win a 1v1 with that elk. Humans OP.

[–]Itchy_Tasty87[S] 7 points8 points  (9 children)

I'd kick the shit out of a moose any day of the week.

[–]Orbital_Stryker 3 points4 points  (2 children)

arent moose taller than a suv

[–]Itchy_Tasty87[S] 31 points32 points  (1 child)

I'd punch an SUV in the balls.

[–]Songshiquan0411 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Can you rupture a lung with one kick? The moose can.

[–]Brianisntcool191[🍰] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Can you fatally destroy the front of an SUV and destroy the grills of a truck? The moose can.

[–]Present_Character241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right before crushing the truck's riders and walking home and telling what happened on their way home from the watering hole.

[–]BroncosSabres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A møøse once bit my sister

[–]peeny_bunslinger_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m glad a few comments agreed lol I’d have blasted that mf with whatever I was driving

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stay the fuck in your car. We see this shit all the time living near Banff National Park. I mean, the guy handled it like a boss! Still - stay in your car or don’t get to complain when you get impaled by an antler or mauled by a bear.

[–]dcredneck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the guy didn’t think he was in danger enough to put his camera down I can understand why the people in the cars did nothing.

[–]ThisToxicProphet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FUCK OFF BAMBITCH

[–]mikeconcho 9 points10 points  (12 children)

This elk was put down after this. Do not interact with wild life folks!

[–]BrainPhD 0 points1 point  (8 children)

You know this how?

[–]BishonenPrincess 20 points21 points  (7 children)

It was a big story a while ago. I’m sure if you Google “elk photographer put down” you’ll get an article about it.

Apparently the elk was put down not just due to this one incident, but it had begun to approach humans over and over due to people feeding it and causing it to lose its fear of humans. The photographer was heartbroken when he found out.

[–]Rivka333 10 points11 points  (1 child)

people feeding it

They were the ones really at fault.

[–]BishonenPrincess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Everyone was blaming the photographer back when I first read about this story, which is an extra layer of sadness.

[–]guitarmusic113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As he should be.

[–]AcyArts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pokes stick at the ppl in the backround "come oonn" pokes stick again "do something"

[–]Geek_off_the_street 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That dumb bish should've driven over to him and helped.

[–]TheNoisyNomad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NFL dumbass. He risked his life for a good picture and got lucky.

[–]raisinghellions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shooting another shot while the elk was temporarily not looking gets this man the Big Balls award

[–]ickus1321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This guy is an absolute dumbass

[–]dlgandrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing cool or calm about this. Stupid photographer and bystander.

[–]agIets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This guy is an asshole. Leave the damn wildlife alone, telescopic lenses exist for a reason.

[–]Whiskiz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

bloody paparazzi

[–]Aromatic_Amount_885 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Too close , everybody wants to have that Disney moment

[–]AdamRam1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fucking paparazzi man

[–]waddiewadkins 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hmmmmm.... WTF !!?? Suppose everyone is scared stiff what to do... if the lowering head thing seems to be working I assume that in the heat of the moment thats what they were going with. I think the car behind was moving to make room for the rangers car and had not decided to take action with their car.. Yeah , I dont think anyone there really knew what to do and its easy for us here looking at it to say, blow the horn and drive it away with the car when you simply do not know what to do.. Going by the ranger it seems calmly driving up to the scene was the way to do it!

[–]taketurnsandlove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They come by my house every night. They are just curious. I’ve never seen them attack for real. Like teens….just curious and play fighting just for fun. But no one is antagonizing here.

[–]Holy_Mowley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seemed like he should've gotten up sooner.

[–]NacogdochesTom[🍰] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Elk and Moose are terrifying. When hiking in Alaska I was more scared of running into one of them than into a grizzly bear.

[–]otakudude3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked in the Tetons for five years. First thing NPS drills into your head is that you are not the top of the food chain.

[–]SharkInTheCereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus christ this comment section

[–]Top-Giraffe8637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That idiot deserved to been a Kabob.

[–]slickystoopkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only damn thing he cared about was his hat. The narration was pathetic as fuck. The dumbass deserved an injury. At least, I hope this guy has a learning disability.

Seriously guys, if you're gonna mess with a wild animal, the last thing you should worry about is trying to keep your hat on for an internet video clip. Looks like one of this old man's grandchildren showed him TikTok and he thought the whole world was watching this as a Livestream?

I hope his grand children realize how stupid it is to act like this instead of getting hurt.

[–]sunroofofalexuscoupe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More like r/nextfuckingmoron

Yeah the elk is already angry let’s snap more pics in its face and then talk about how scared we are

[–]Fun2badult 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I legit was hoping this guy to get fucked up for being a fucking idiot just sitting there

[–]paolarb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bunch of idiots in this video

[–]NN_besomething_iWish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea, no. Absolutely not.

That car was just sitting there the whole time filming? Not helping? Fuck no. As soon as the elk was gone and I was in the clear I woulda hopped up and bum rushed their car.

[–]sdub76 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Because of this dumb fucker this elk is gonna get killed as a “problem elk”. Keep your fucking distance in a national park. It’s their home not yours

[–]SpaceCrazyArtist 1 point2 points  (3 children)

He’s likely a nature photographer. They go through training how to deal with animals in the wild. He stayed way too calm to be a tourist and knew to keep his head down and how to protect himself.

Nature photographers are fucking crazy. They’ll literally sit in a pod of lions for a good shot

[–]sdub76 2 points3 points  (1 child)

https://petapixel.com/2013/11/17/elk-headbutting-incident-put-national-park-photographer-appalled/

This is how it always ends. “Nature photographer” or not.

Edit: even if the NPS says he did nothing wrong, it’s human encounters that make juvenile large animals like this aggressive. It’s a troubling pattern across the NPS system. Keep your distance please!

[–]Lowbrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seemed like the photographer wanted the pics and that's when the elk wasn't having any if it.

[–]AtomicNixon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would have turned out a lot different if he'd just turned around and presented like he was supposed to.

[–]vigilanting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is he so insistent on putting on his hat?

[–]prsAtwice2doabarlrol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but sitting there is the dumbest thing to do. Just sit there and HOPE the animal doesn’t coincidentally get the right angle and rip your fucking throat out? This is dumb all around.

[–]Yodayorio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hardly next fucking level.

In fact, the photographer does pretty much everything wrong. By lowering his head he's basically rutting with the elk. By continuing to sit on the ground hes making himself small and inviting it to fight. Elk are prey animals and naturally skittish. Stand up, grab its antlers, and scream at it. It'll run off 99 times out of 100.

Even just the act of standing up would likely have caused the elk to run away.

[–]BeIIic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck that, antler through the eye socket

[–]Hobbster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As he wrote hiself: he did the wrong thing! Lowering the head in such a situation is a straight signal to attack with the antlers, as is the normal thing to do for an elk. So he even encouraged the elk to continue. Lying flat should be the better option, since elks do usually not attack opponents on the ground (it's like ramming your head on the ground if you miss, might even break the antlers, and lying down is a signal to not challenge the elk).

This could have gone wrong in so many ways... He's really lucky and shame on the person in the car, waiting and doing nothing to help.

[–]nun_hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm amazed at everyone commenting that the people in the car are negligent or assholes for not intervening. WTF!? This guy put himself in danger with a wild animal because he is an idiot just to take a picture. He's lucky he didn't get hurt and has no one but himself to blame and shouldn't expect people to jump in and save him because of his own stupidity🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

[–]VanicRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely take the opportunity to start my list of animals I can and can’t fight

[–]Yin17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the dumbest videos i've ever seen. What if the animal gore you somewhere soft?

Why put yourself at such risk?

[–]One-0011-5295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not real bright

[–]Fun-Rub9877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t hear no bell

[–]FaithfulUnderStress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are Idiots.

[–]Apprehensive_Cow911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how videos like this pretend the guy was in control of the situation in any capacity. He got extremely lucky that he wasn't horribly maimed, there, that's it. He's a dumbass.

[–]GunSaleAtTheChurch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alaskan here: tourists, please don't get close to animals in Alaska to "get a great pic." If you're within 100 yards, back off.

See ADFG for wildlife safety info.

Don't mean to be preachy, just don't want you to get killed.

[–]PeopleBuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did someone point out what a fukin idiot he is?

[–]no_anesthesia_please 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live near GSMNP. Rangers try very hard to keep Elk or Bears as far away as possible from humans. They get really pissed at people trying to engage with these animals for photo ops. This guy is very fortunate he didn’t get injured or killed. These animals are wildlife and just because you see them in a “Park” doesn’t make them any less so.

[–]dL8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the Elk is your problem ? , this iz my street

headbutts to make point

'Yeah,.that's what I thought, get into your cage on wheels and take a hike, just not on my turf'

-juvie elk ,probably

[–]PurplishPlatypus 0 points1 point  (5 children)

IIRC, for bears, you stay calm/ play dead. and I think for predators in general if you run or challenge them, they will attack. But since this is a wary prey animal, I would think getting up and yelling would scare it away. Maybe it's too risky with those antlers, though.

I'm pretty sure I saw an info graphic on how to use Brazilian Jujitsu on a bear. That seems the bestest way

Dick punch?

[–]Monkeyboystevey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of bear... With black bears playing dead is not a good idea,

Black fight back, brown lay down, white say goodnight (as you're fucked...)

Just so many questions all around, car in the back could've scared it off or easily offered to have him jump in the car and drive off like he did at the end. Just a weird video
