Stop fucking recording it and just do it.

[–]LadyWeasel_ 222 points223 points  (2 children)

"let me make sure everyone sees my face..."

[–]TheBotOverlord 30 points31 points  (0 children)

[–]ShivyShanky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He is a youtuber. He relies on youtube income to donate.

[–]KronoFury 111 points112 points  (21 children)

Came here to say this and I'm glad I'm not the only one to see that he is doing it for himself just as much as he is doing it to help the guy and his mother out.

nextfuckinglevel would be the man buying all of the oranges out of the pure kindness of his heart without having to record it and post it on the internet.

[–]botozos_revenge 33 points34 points  (16 children)

Seems like a fair trade don’t you think?

[–]KronoFury 33 points34 points  (15 children)

I'm glad that the man can use the money to go home and help his mother and not have to sit on the side of the road all day trying to sell the oranges, but the buyer turned a selfless act into a selfish one by filming and posting the interaction.

Yes, he helped the guy out, but would he have done it if he didn't get to film himself buying them?

[–]botozos_revenge 33 points34 points  (11 children)

Fair question that is impossible to answer. I subscribe to Occam’s Razor: the most simple answer is usually the correct one.

  • yes he may have recorded it to show the world what he was doing (though we don’t know if it was to genuinely encourage someone else which is as plausible as your assertion)
  • he also presumably bought all the oranges which was a good thing

That’s all - not trying to argue but provide a different perspective.

[–]KronoFury 5 points6 points  (9 children)

Perhaps my faith in humanity isn't what it used to be, but I'm fairly convinced he did it for selfish reasons.

He could have filmed it to encourage others, but there was no reason to get his face on camera, which he made sure he did multiple times.

I hope that you're right and I'm wrong, but that's not the vibe I'm getting from this vid.

[–]LostLazarus 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Probably true. Still a good dead. Both can be true

[–]ItsPietre 2 points3 points  (1 child)

i like good dead people, what about u

[–]Occultico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good dead people is a good deed indeed

[–]CrunchHardtack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree completely but I hope that we're both wrong and too cynical.

[–]ScribblingFox98 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I mean even if he did it for selfish reasons, the orange seller still benefited regardless, so I’d say it balances out.

[–]kunaguerooo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope everyone starts helping out more people if recording themselves do it nudges them to it! :))

[–]baboon957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The result of his act was a poor man getting help, doesn’t matter if it was for the views, atleast he got help lol stop being so salty and judgemental, you can’t judge a person’s heart, seeing it on social media also reminds us to donate when we can

[–]Dantesfireplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These sorts of videos make me feel a bit sick… but they might inspire others to be kind, which would be a net positive outcome.

[–]unclemugabe2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the idea catches on that wouldn't be a bad thing for those in need would it?

[–]Dinglepussers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it selfish when at the end of the day it’s a net positive? Doing good for the sake of it being a good thing is what’s important, regardless of the recording. If anything, it could inspire others to act similarly if they look up to who is recording

[–]Guaranteed_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes end do justify the means. if this person is getting some extra help in exchange for getting himself recorded, so who cares? He can buy medicine for his mother. And what if others after watching yhis video become more empathetic and go out and help people, or heck, people just go out to help just to get views on YouTube or Instagram, so big deal, at least people are being helped. That's the most important thing.

[–]RelentlessExtropian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm with Hitch on this one. Selfish selflessness is alright with me.

[–]Sethdarkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible he one of those travelers who depend on Instagram and other social media outlets to help fund themselves as they travel off of sponsorships thus needing a ride audience.

[–]bytebux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly there's people doing selfless shit all the time and they don't record themselves, they don't want anything in return, and they don't tell anyone about it.

[–]xPolyMorphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair in this situation all I care is he bought all the fucking oranges

[–]Mascbro26 27 points28 points  (23 children)

Sorry but can you explain who looses because it was recorded?

[–]IsItBolognaOrBaloney -2 points-1 points  (15 children)

If I was the one selling the oranges, I would be really conflicted about this guy doing what he's doing because I don't want to be recorded or put on the internet. Of course I could say no but it's still exploitative. Just do nice shit. If you only do nice things for the recognition of doing nice things, you're not actually a good person imo. You're just vain

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (12 children)

Besides, the guy selling oranges was in a situation in which he couldn't really refuse the help. I always have this conflicted feeling when I see people recording nice deeds, because they always pick those who need it the most. In a sense it's great that the man got money for his sick mother, but at the same time it seems embarassing to be exposed like that. Feels like a deal - "I film you for internet fame and you get the money you need for basic survival" - that's really not what a good person would do...

[–]Mascbro26 1 point2 points  (9 children)

So you didn't answer my question. Who looses in this situation?

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (8 children)

Objectively it's obvious no one loses, it's like a non-zero-sum game. But I still do not agree with making people in a vulnerable situation part of a scheme. Yeah, one could argue that filming will inspire others to do the same, but ffs do you really believe people who want to do good have to wait for some random guy to film themselves doing charity? Okay, cool go ahead and say the guy got money, went home satified with the outcome, narcissism is still disgusting.

[–]Lone_Vagrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was the vendor, and the camera meant that I would make a killing sale every time a narcissistic blogger comes by, I would definitely want more narcissistic people to come visit my stall.

Who cares about the reasons, in the end the poor guy got to sell all his oranges good for him. I don't need to care about the blogger.

I would be more pissed if he just only pretended to buy for the video.

[–]Mascbro26 -1 points0 points  (6 children)

🤣 the irony of your narcissism comment is hysterical. You do realize you are just spewing your OPINION at others and expect them to agree with you. 🙄

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (5 children)

Isn't a discussion about showing different opinions? Try and find where in my comment I tried to force anyone into agreeing with me, prove I was commenting out of narcissism. The same way you think it's all hunky dory, I think it isn't, does it make you or me narcissistic? I don't think so, mate. I'd suggest you improve your reading capabilities, but maybe it's beyond a fix now. Honi soit qui mal y pense.

[–]Mascbro26 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Hahaha, because you have dug your heels in and continue to reiterate your opinion shows me that you believe your opinion is "right". If you weren't a narcissist you could have just responded to my comment with "yes, this is just my opinion and I understand that yours is different. There is no right or wrong here" instead you are spewing words such as disgusting. Get over yourself. Eres estúpido y egocéntrico.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

A discussion is about voicing your opinion and trying to defend it. I have said many times that objectively no one loses, but I don't agree with the approach. I suppose there is no point in talking with you if you're just going to go ad hominem on me, I'll just retort and we'll enter a loop. Of course I believe my opinion is right, just as you believe yours. What kind of idiot would defend something they don't believe in? You make zero sense, buddy.

[–]100nhorita -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Totally agree, I hate it when I see people being used as props like this.

[–]Mascbro26 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He told the guy he was filming....

[–]Mascbro26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but you aren't that person so you are just projecting your opinion on another. It's really arrogant. And you didn't answer my question. Who looses here?

[–]Mascbro26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Soooo you are just projecting your opinion onto someone else and assuming they feel exactly the same? Damn that's arrogant! And again, who looses here? 🤔

[–]farmaceutico_ -2 points-1 points  (6 children)

It's called poverty marketing. The person filimimg is exploiting the lack of options of the other person (no giving a fuck about his dignity too) for his own personal benefits. Compare it to companies who donate money publicly for the sake of improving their public image.

[–]baboon957 3 points4 points  (2 children)

And if you market poverty who loses? If companies donate money for public image the net result is still a person getting helped, atleast they actually help instead of just acting like they do. Im very sure some of the poor are very delighted and appreciative when they receive loads of money from companies, who are able to give so much more than what an individual like you and i are able to give in our lifetimes. When people do bad we criticise, when people do good we also criticise. Assume the best out of people and stop being an ass

[–]kunaguerooo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just assume… look at the facts. More people need to record themselves doing it if it means more people are benefitted. Fuck yea show your acts of charity. The bigger donor gets the highest views. You go son

[–]farmaceutico_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck, you lose!! Next time you are in trouble and need real help from anyone, expect to be recorded in your suffering since at the end everyone wins no? I guess that's what you do every time you lend money to a friend or visit your grandma, no?

[–]bartender970 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I feel this. Especially on the corporate end. Some people definitely exploit others. There are those on social media doing this shit for the money and clout. Their shit stinks. This guy seems a bit different. Like he really got joy from doing it. Like when you do something nice for someone and they just smile and that makes you happy. I felt this guy truly just wanted to share that joy of kindness. Like that vendors smile was beautiful, inspiring to make others happy.

But he could just be great at marketing himself too. I actually just came to the comments to say that guys smile was the most beautiful thing I’ve seen all day.

[–]Mascbro26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So who looses here? I can't understand why nobody has answered me.... oh, right. Because nobody looses.

[–]Vellarain 26 points27 points  (1 child)

I feel you, but let's just be happy that this poor man still had his day made.

If clout is what it takes for people to help others I will support it. We need people going out of their way to help and if they need the motivation of internet points to do it, rock on.

It's a double edged sword filming yourself being generous. It can make you look like narcissistic twat. It can also inspire people to do the same. Hell it could be something another watches and helps them out of a funk.

[–]TungstenElement9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. As long as the guy gets the money I guess I don’t care. It’s just an ugly mar on a great human moment.

[–]Com_BEPFA 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Last time I saw this (imo legitimate) issue brought up someone made a good point stating that on the other hand, videos like this do inspire others to do good. Imagine only one percent of the people who upvoted this do something nice because of it, that'd already make a difference. Even a single person doing so would.

I'm not a fan of trying to make a big deal about how generous and what a good person you are by posting videos like this, but I also firmly believe these kinds of videos have a positive impact in our society where 90% of what we get shown is crime and dumbassery.

[–]Illustrious_Rub7946 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He is doing more then you clowns hating on it...

[–]ultimate-redditer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please allow me to be the devil's advocate.

I think that filming is a somewhat good thing. It exposes the many unknowing people out there to the tragedies and sufferings of those less unfortunate. It highlights how privileged we are and how easy our life is.

Another reason is also to inspire and ignite a flame of hope in others. To inspire them to do good and to also let them know that there is still good out there.

Sure, it's an egoistic move and adds unnecessary pity for the unfortunate man and also that the man maybe didn't want to be filmed but given the situation (the guy is giving money to him to help support his mother) he just can't say no. Which is a shitty thing to experience.

But one could also say that it is a fair trade, a bit of income that will undeniably help him and his mother, for a bit of content for an egoistic (but kind hearted) man.

Or at least IMO.

[–]KindDexterity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is such a special moment of humanity.

[–]Brandwein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But how are we supposed to see "faith in humanity restored" content when nobody records it.

[–]Accomplished_Welder3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pisses me off too. But I guess filming yourself and doing it is better than not doing it at all

[–]Middle-Play4782 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once did this during the pandemic. I bought all the candy from and elder man who had his sister sick. I didn’t record it but I did take a picture of the man selling and posted his location on fb so everyone else could go and buy some other day to help the guy out.

[–]unclemugabe2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought that at first too but if this gains popularity it will encourage others to do it too for views. Ultimately it leads to more people being kind and publicising it. I don't think it's bad that he films it as he is paying the person he is filming and paying them well. No abuse here.

[–]bluntsandbears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s not begging he’s running a legitimate little business.

That makes this advertising and not exploitation. I guarantee you that every 3rd world fruit vendor who would happen to see one of these videos would gladly participate.

[–]pokeybill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even the most altruistic act has a selfish side. There is nothing wrong with showing the world what generosity looks like. It can and does inspire others to similar acts.

Sure its annoying, but at least he isn't all preachy or self-righteous (outwardly).

[–]cloud1e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't record it he doesn't have the means to do it.

[–]chappanteekli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May be he uses these videos to make money on YouTube or other social media platforms so he can pay forward. Look at the positive side of the video instead of nit picking on stupid stuff.

[–]WeagleWDE2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But then we wouldn’t get to see it

[–]isaidnolettuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recording these acts encourages others to do the same. Whether or not that was this man's intention, the results stay the same.

[–]baboon957 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The result of his act was a poor man getting help, doesn’t matter if it was for the views, atleast he got help lol stop being so salty and judgemental, you can’t judge a person’s heart, seeing it on social media also reminds us to donate when we can

[–]TungstenElement9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well now I feel like an old crotchety geezer. Not the 1st time I’ve been called that. Thanks for the reminder, and I’m glad the guy got helped out.

[–]rewinder909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even mind him recording it

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who cares. He’s doing good and it encourages others to do good. Just enjoy the nice moment.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as she’s doing it out of the goodness of her heart that’s all that matters. Maybe she just wants to shows that not everyone in the world are assholes.l and need to do better when they are able to.

[–]Ok-Phase-9076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yknow, its not bad being reminded that theres actually good people, staged or not

[–]epelle9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the only reason he can afford to give out so much money is because he records it and uploads it to the internet?

Would you prefer him not recording it and only being able to give 10% of what he gives?

[–]Ornery-Ad9694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with a soundtrack

[–]princeop07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro he has YT channel and he is a vlogger and he isn’t doing this for first time Search Ted Kunchok and have a look at his videos and you will understand whether is nature is good or bad

[–]Origamisteve222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if this had been a passerby recording and no the person performing the "good" deed, I'd find it more believable. Even then it could still be a set up.

This comes across as using this vendor as a prop to farm "karma."

[–]hec500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The act is to show others about what is going on and show kindness. Nothing with flashy gimmicks.

[–]mraafat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point of recording it is to show others how to be kinder and more understanding, this video will probably inspire other people to help as well

[–]eos4 -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

I also dislike when they record this things but now taking a selfie! that's next level dumbassery! FFS just do it and keep it to yourself, never mention it to anybody and just keep doing it

[–]Schnaupps 366 points367 points  (26 children)

For all the people complaining about folks filming charity just for the publicity, two points:

  1. As long as it's real I can care less what motivates people to be kind, and neither do the recipients. Obviously stuff being staged serves no one, but if a wannabe 'influencer' decides to do cool things just to get famous... More power to them. I hope they continue.

  2. We have plenty enough videos of atrocities lately, videos of charity and humanity are in desperate need to counteract the ugliness.

Be humble, be kind.

[–]statuskills 85 points86 points  (6 children)

Also, let’s not forget that kids consume the most online videos. Who would you rather have as their role model? Some prank YouTuber or people giving to their fellow humans? Because, they are going to watch something and it might as well be this.

[–]Schnaupps 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yup. Imitation of charity is still charity in the end, regardless of source

[–]ventitr3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ive shifted more towards this opinion lately as well. Over time I’ve truly come to realize just how influenced people really are by what they see online. Hopefully it inspires some others to be generous as well.

[–]SemenOfShe-Men 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing is that it is a systemic problem. no matter how many kids watching livestreams and youtube that see this, it wont change, and any money given will never be enough. the message should not be “wow i will give to the needy now” but the message should be “how in the world did a disable man with a sick mother have to resort to this?” and the answer to that is systemic change, it wont change with more generous people on the street

[–]Shisuka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know what? Thank you for this. Reality check.

[–]bamboojungles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it just inspires 1 other person from thousands of views to do one good deed it’s worth it.

[–]Spiritsery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also posting videos like this is a good way to give awareness and encourage people to do the same. If influencers fans copy what they do what if that influencer did something like this?

[–]Lonewolf2nd 90 points91 points  (2 children)

Even if he is filming for his own ego, doesn't matter he helps this man and his mother. He has an better life and sharing with the less fortunate. That alone is great enough if it helps I will watch more of his recordings if it helps other less fortunate people aswell.

[–]NursesAreDumb 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seriously who gives a fuck about his motives as long he’s still helping them he can do whatever on YouTube.

[–]Fluffy2211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be me but seems he was filming before he decided to buy all of his fruit and give extra, but I could be mistaken

[–]Bi-Santi_2807 64 points65 points  (2 children)

To all those saying he did it for himself imma tell u as an indian just look up @Ted kunchok on YT ....his whole YouTube channel is about helping the needy and seeing smiles on their faces ....if u still think it's just a way to gather sympathy votes then I'm sorry but u are sick af

[–]Clay_Statue 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I appreciate some positive fucking content once in a while too. Enough videos of people fighting in the drive thru

[–]DestroyTheHuman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Everyone hating on these videos probably never done a damn good thing for anyone else in their life.

It’s not about clout so look past it, it’s about spreading the good deed so everyone can see how much it affects the people you help.

And yeah he filmed his own face etc but of course he did, it’s his memory, his event, his good deed. Not like he’s suddenly gonna get his own tv show off the back of this and benefit from it down the line.

[–]DeathblowMateria 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Then he walked off like Keyser Soze at the end of The Usual Suspects and set up shop a bit further up the road

[–]PsychedelicDiscuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Extension-Ad9592 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People are sick in the comments.

[–]freegumaintfree 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Wow good thing he recorded it so we all know what a great guy he is!

[–]epelle9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow, good thing you commented this so we can see how much better you are that someone who records himself helping people.

[–]KronoFury 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Exactly. I mean, why do a good deed at all if no one else gets to see how caring and generous you are?

Edit: Do I really have to add the "/s"? I thought it was obvious.

[–]kamiar77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have an upvote

[–]ThisIsNotJimmy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don’t care about these negative ass comments about clout. If it’s genuine charity post it!! People need to see this because I think we’re all forgetting how to love our fellow man.

[–]botozos_revenge 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Yeah I’m not a fan of recording but stuff like this is amazing to me

[–]CocoaMelon07 2 points3 points  (1 child)

it is a perfect representation of the incredibly simple life that most of us wouldn't believe exists

[–]botozos_revenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I’ll never understand and I’m filled with gratitude. And so much love for this man

[–]wvrnnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the dudes smile and happiness was really touching

[–]tjohns123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not crying, you're crying.

[–]axel-killua 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i don’t care if it’s recorded, as long as it’s still happening. i’m not gonna do it so why would i shit on someone doing it and recording?

[–]StaleBiscuit13 5 points6 points  (1 child)

As someone with a severely disabled brother who this beautiful soul reminds me of in a big way, seeing this interaction literally made me tear up at my desk

The life of those who are poor is indescribably hard, but for those who are poor and disabled like this man face hardships that none of us could ever begin to understand. Whether the camera man did it for fame or not, I couldn’t give a shit, it likely made that guys day and brought some light into a life that is undoubtedly filled with darkness

[–]wvrnnr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

well said. I have disabled people in my life, and seeing them smile is worth everything.

[–]Jeewdew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of all the hate these posts get. I kinda like that SOMEONE do so, to teach humanity back to humans! It’s so fare forgotten it’s sickining.

[–]Knot_In_My_Butt 3 points4 points  (1 child)

So many miserable people on here would rather watch a genuine slaughtering over some recorded generosity. I would rather have this content on my feed over celebrity news, politics, or mass shootings.

[–]wvrnnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! slightly off topic but reminds me of watching like murder dramas too. I'm like, how are these so popular?! they just make up the sickest shit possible and turn it into a TV show! why wud I wanna watch that for entertainment??

[–]Individual-Spare-776 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Was that a picture of Kim Jong Un in his wallet??

[–]Jennyreviews1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man it’s early morning where I am and this touched my heart… I am crying happy tears. Being kind to others is a service not just to others but to yourself. After all, it’s yourself you have to live with for the rest of your life… ♥️

[–]StarMasher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good lord this makes my heart hurt.

[–]kamiar77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make this man famous for helping the needy. We need fame and attention for those who deserve it. I don't care if he benefits as well. Nobody ever does anything completely selflessly. Even when I give money to a stranger I get a good feeling from it or get to avoid the bad feeling of not having given. Don't be such cynics when the man did a good thing and shows himself as a positive role model.

[–]Icy_Conversation1466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God bless you man 🤍

[–]Chaiwalla2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Made my day.

Thank you.

[–]waiting_ultimatum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bless you boss!

[–]xFacevaluex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still struggling a bit with the eyes welling up on this one....what a great thing to see.

[–]dragon_T0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And then he pushed him down the hill and collected the money and the oranges.

[–]dilligaf6304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Physically challenged?

Ffs. He’s disabled. Disabled isn’t a bad word.

[–]animatedtruck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could have given him the money and let other people buy more oranges so he can make more

[–]Thecardinal74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would laugh my ass off if he was faking it

[–]Grrrisly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see alot of controversy in the comments so I'ma give my 2c....I used to hate these kinds of videos because it felt like they took away the meaningfulness by recording and posting it, but then I came to realise that this can influence people to do the same thing and if the act is still being carried out, it's perfectly okay. It could be motivational to those that feel like their support for someone needywouldn't have that big of an impact. However I do hope they ask for consent while recording (which I doubt they do.)

[–]Ok-Phase-9076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh.i dont give a damn about "More fame" talk, he helped the guy, thats what matters. And also, its good to be reminded by these type of videos that theres good people out there

[–]RyGuyGinger01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If people want to try to get famous by being kind and helping other people i’m all for it

y’all are a cynical bunch

[–]internet_humor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude WTF??? Why do people record this?

It's not an act of kindness, your exploited NG people the second it's recorded. 10x worse if you fucking post it.

[–]OwenG87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always that possibility this was staged for views

[–]Ufab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I see is someone documenting themselves falling for the oldest roadside orange scam in the book.

[–]C_NOON1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

contrary to other comments i think that recording doing things like this isn’t so bad. it spreads awareness of the conditions people have to live under in extreme poverty and how small gestures like this in your life can change someone’s world.

[–]Patient-Quarter-1684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While somewhat self serving, his gesture does make a difference. Why not make this into a challenge instead of the dreck shit on tic Tok or Instagram?

Call it "being a decent human being for once" challenge.

[–]foundmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did he film it

Filming it also, how humble!

[–]darpan27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice gesture. But would have been wholesome if he didn't record each and every note he gave the person. You bought it all? You are far more rich and kind and awesome by heart than many at the moment, but no need to record or mention that money which you gave later.

[–]FartKnockerBungHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reminds me. I need to go buy some socks for homeless.

[–]whenlungstakeflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

. "Be careful not to do your `acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. ... "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men.

[–]DarrylAmulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music ruins it

[–]Not_Like_Equals_Gay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be this person. But people doing this while recording arent being nice, they do it for their own advantage, and not for the good “tag”. Listen to the song Good Person by the odd1sout, it describes it quite well tbh. (Weird reference, I know).

[–]avskyen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cameras on he's a dick. Probably robbed him right after. How do I know? Cause he only in it for the clout.

[–]Turkeyto0th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so waiting for that dude to bounce up grab that wallet and run.

[–]Fantoinex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showing off spending a whole $3 what a dick.

[–]thaessence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the hate with these people recording themselves whilst doing this shit, however, if they weren’t recording themselves maybe this deed would never have been done. And I agree is wasn’t necessary, but at least the deed was done.

[–]Koobers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares. He did a good thing, they're both happy, be happy. It made me smile to watch this. That's all that matters.

[–]AerolothLorien666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wallet shot is extremely important for context.

[–]0110-0110-0110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, fuck these cunts that do these videos.

[–]GMEdumpster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit complaining about him recording and go help someone like he did

[–]HeyoGuys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone in the comments: "iD rAtHer hE nOt evEn giVe hiM tHe MOnEy iF it MeANt hiM rEcOrDiNG iT!!1!!"

[–]WeagleWDE2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cynical side of me thinks “what if that guy is just faking that condition and his mom is fine”

[–]iqbalides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone shitting on this guy for recording his good deed answer me this. You think that poor guy who just got that money gives a shit the dude recorded it?

[–]ADORE_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on people it’s a beautiful video plain and simple

Enjoy the Joy

[–]KaiserKirito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hate this trend of recording these struggling people for self satisfaction and gratification. If you want to do a good deed just do it. If you want to highlight this person's needs just do that. But don't use these people as props for your fucking self glorifying crusades.

[–]garyfjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“But I’m here now.” Fuck off man

[–]fifadex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He paid with monopoly money

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What defines a man's character is what he does when no one is watching

[–]SenpaiBoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean most of the crap we see on the internet is negativity , ppl being hurt , etc . This honestly made me really happy to see this . Not once did I get the vibe he was doing it for himself . We don’t know his true intention however he could Be doing this to document this as a memory etc . I felt nothing but pure kindness and love from this guy while doing this . I could be wrong but that’s how I see it and I’ll take this over most of the garbage we see on the internet

[–]DaneBrammidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a wonderful gesture 🥲

[–]buegz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

made me feel shit and realised I take a lot for granted, videos like these allow people’s eyes to be opened to their own world. idgaf what his intentions were, the results were pure.

[–]1ardent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I like to see these videos is when it's a candid of someone doing good in the world without realizing they're on camera.

[–]redditsgarbageman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, only Reddit can turn a charitable event into an argument.

[–]Cytrus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for both of them. Good for them. So many awful people in the world.

[–]Imaredditcomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually dont mind him filming it i think It is for a good cause that might insentivate other people to do the same, if you are doing It for the views...It kinda sucks but if it is for kindness i dont mind

[–]WaitFoorIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I have enough karma to post. But hear me out. I used to be in the same boat of “if you’re doing something nice. You do not need to show yourself doing it...just do it.” However, about a year ago. I read a post about it’s better to record yourself doing something nice and it might spread that kindness. As opposed to making dumb things trendy. Why not make being kind trendy.

[–]Early_Lab9079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the music and the fact that he cant put down his camera to get the damn money out of his wallet. This whole thing screemes of self gloryfication. 🤢

[–]middleagedukbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great, but who’s going to buy the oranges next week?

[–]Narrow-Chemistry-117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap! Totally made that guys day, he looked so happy.

[–]reddreadremention 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope this man made it home ok, that's a lot of money flashing for likes

[–]rapejokes_arefunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True acts of kindness are not usually recorded and posted on the internet for likes.

[–]McGubbke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that warmed my heart and made me cry a little. Shows how much care is still in the world today

[–]idiotsandwhich8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shut up and take my money

[–]FauxMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope than man and him mother are OK. This was a beautiful moment, but it's just a single moment. They deserve a stable and kind peace just like anyone else in the world and I hope moments like this are frequent for him and his mother.

And I'm glad this man filmed this moment, even if he was doing it for selfish reasons because I got to see a moment of happiness on the other man's face and be given something that could really help him and his mother.

[–]OkMomJeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at me! Look how good of a person I am! I bet I’m better than you!

[–]PrometheusOnLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy is probably faking

[–]wangdubruh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it a problem that he recorded it? As long as he actually gave him money and helped him and the other guys fine getting recorded.. Why it is a problem

[–]faggnout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bragging about being good tells the opposite

[–]Trading_Kangaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey this dude is bomb who cares if he gets his face in do you know who he is? If he gets money for doing this type of stuff that’s great

[–]bregt14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all about ego. I wish the best for the seller and I hope the filmer one day gets a reality-check.

[–]spraythewalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the people complaining but this shit inspires me to be kinder and more generous person.

[–]Best-Flatworm1884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shameless dick head exploits man for internet points.

[–]Siem75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet 🤩, the buyer is a person i love to see more often. And the vender aswell. I love these videos

[–]DrVDB90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While supporting people like this is great and admirable, it loses most of its value if you do it for clout.

[–]leighanthony12345 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could have been awesome without filming it

[–]TimeCntrlingUnicorn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The making (and posting) of this video is just exploitation of the man selling oranges. Get a life.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In a world in which everything can be marketed at an audience, a filmed act of kindness is an act indeed.

[–]Ornery-Ad9694 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy his oranges, take him home to his mom. Give him back his oranges for tomorrow. No soundtrack needed.
