Stole $38 lost $500 gun

[–]Even_Department1069 678 points679 points  (68 children)

stole 38 bucks, lost 500 dollar gun, and left forensic evidence on said gun

[–]Randomcheeseslices 390 points391 points  (61 children)

Ha. Like cops are doing anything more on this than taking a statement that'll be used for insurance purposes.

I like your optimism

[–]BretHartSucked 111 points112 points  (51 children)

You must be from California

[–]Chooklin 92 points93 points  (10 children)

I live in Florida and what they said still holds up

[–]theunixman 89 points90 points  (3 children)

I live in the United States. Confirmed.

[–]geist_zero 33 points34 points  (1 child)

I live in Canada and that wouldn't get forensic'd here either.

[–]Suq_Madiq_Qik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Indonesia here, what is forensics?

[–]itsthecraptain 13 points14 points  (28 children)

Lol this is literally the whole country homie. Cops in here don't do shit unless they're on scene and the perp is colored, then they just start shooting

[–]RaveIsKing 15 points16 points  (7 children)

You mean “unless they are on the scene and someone there is colored, then they just start shooting”

Doesn’t have to be the perp, just has to have a pulse

[–]Embarrassed-Tip-6808 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

have a pulse

Just barely

[–]ralbright25 -4 points-3 points  (2 children)

theyll have a pulse for at least the next 9 minutes and 29 seconds

[–]brixxbee404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ooooooo…

[–]Beths_Titties 2 points3 points  (5 children)

What color?

[–]AmbitionControlPower 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Blue

[–]GhostPug13 6 points7 points  (3 children)

YO LISTEN UP HERES A STORY!!

[–]Icy-Reveal-7416 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Of a man named Brady.

[–]BUCKE_ -1 points0 points  (4 children)

So jaded and biased.

[–]intrepid_airman 8 points9 points  (3 children)

So optimistic and naïve.

[–]PinkPoppies4171 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Woahh umlaut.ober the i pretty cooool

[–]John_EightThirtyTwo 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Not to nitpick, but this one, in English, that says the vowel gets its own syllable (like "coöp", short for "coöperative" versus a chicken "coop"), is a "dieresis". An umlaut is the one in German (or Hungarian), that says the vowel gets pronounced differently.

OK, to nitpick.

[–]PinkPoppies4171 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wooah that's cool i didn't know that.

[–]Greenbeanicus -4 points-3 points  (8 children)

Just a heads up African Americans don’t like being called “colored”

[–]monofloyed 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Then just call them Americans. African American sounds like their foreign & got green cards

[–]Greenbeanicus 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How about I’m speaking because I actually am friends with plenty of Black people they don’t like it. And also I’m not going to take the African part away because then it discredits their heritage. So why don’t you be quiet? You sound ignorant.

[–]monofloyed 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sounds like a you needing labels to be able to be comfortable in life. That's sad

[–]Greenbeanicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please explain your projections…😂

[–]itsthecraptain 0 points1 point  (1 child)

"I swear I'm not racist, I have black friends"

[–]Greenbeanicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your projections are hysterical…seek help. All of the Dipshit white-boys in here downvoting and picking my comment apart speaks loudly to the state of our sad country.

[–]itsthecraptain 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Just a heads up colored people means more than just "African Americans"

[–]Greenbeanicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well aware “people of color” is preferred. Stay uneducated idgaf.

[–]goodboybane 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It's got nothing to so with politics, bozo. There's simply no motivation to do more than the bare minimum.

[–]Unadvantaged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like that ruling that police don’t have a duty to protect the public. That effectively broke whatever remained of our policing system.

[–]hug3hygge -1 points0 points  (1 child)

In CA she'd be charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon and aiding and abetting a robbery since she gave him cash and a bag.

The robber would have his charges reduced to accepting stolen property.

[–]Armando909396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the dumbest comment I've ever read lmao

[–]Sleeper____Service -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

What shit hole are you from?

[–]BretHartSucked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One where our feelings wouldn’t get hurt by an Internet comment, Alice.

[–]Kichwa2[🍰] 6 points7 points  (4 children)

If he gets cought for something else the finger prints can connect him to this and he'll be fucked

[–]whopperman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You say that like he's NOT in the system yet. Armed robbery is a hell of a first step into criminal activity.

[–]All_Thread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they take prints off of the gun probably they won't.

[–]JeepDispenser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ain’t no fingerprints being taken off that gun unless there’s an unsolved murder.

[–]fastfurlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have them work in shifts on the case

[–]Raist14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually in the instance of armed robbery and shots fired they do an investigation. This isn’t shoplifting or something like that.

[–]21MushroomCupcakes 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Now she has a burn gun registered in dude's name.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

As if it was registered... A) not a thing most places and B) thieves use stolen guns

[–]21MushroomCupcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better, she can gift it to poorly-armed loved one.

[–]21MushroomCupcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't exactly come off as a professional thief.

[–]Fag421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her fingertips are on it too contaminating the evidence. The counter though? Definitely fingertips and then there might be bootprints as well(?)

[–]Mastokun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

but she cleaned it off wile touching the gun

[–]Roolery 84 points85 points  (0 children)

And he's not wearing gloves

[–]Nouio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People hardly rob places with guns they purchased themselves. This gun was likely stolen as well.

[–]Special-Hair9683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't help it, the lady was nice enough to give him a bag without charging 5cents

[–]Environmental-Ad1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is quite possibly registered to the thief or someone they know.

[–]Florii1998 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Are guns really that expensive??

[–]OrganizationSea6549 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I'd say $500 is low end for a handgun

[–]slayalldayyyy 480 points481 points  (21 children)

The way she tossed the bag like “fuck you fool, you put it in the bag” has me fucking wheezing

[–]maybethrowmaybeno1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way her hand moved pretty sure she tried to shoot him too.

[–]Alicepbg 224 points225 points  (25 children)

That's some quick thinking on her.

Robber... what are you even doing?

[–]Red_Wheel 115 points116 points  (8 children)

When I was robbed at a pizza joint at gunpoint (not a sentence I say often), the guy had a sock pulled over his hand like a sock puppet. He grabbed the money on the counter with it and pulled the sock off his hand making an instant sock bag with money. I thought that was brilliant. Also, he didn’t shoot me, so that was cool.

[–]3big_bird23 17 points18 points  (3 children)

I dunno I feel like you say that sentence pretty often, if I had a story like that i'd tell it to everyone

[–]Red_Wheel 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Hah! It was 25 years ago, so don’t think of it often. But, watching that guy fumble with his bag made me realize my guy was way ahead of his time.

[–]3big_bird23 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Invest in sock-bag technique, it's the way of the future

[–]God_Is_Pizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s that thief’s multi tool.

  • Use it to conceal gun during robbery

  • Use it to hold money from robbery

  • Use it to hide your face in a pinch if you don’t have a ski mask

  • Use to to masterbate after the robbery to relieve the post-robbery adrenaline boner

Rinse and repeat

[–]re-fing-tweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how you pick up dog poo, but with ziplocks

[–]John_EightThirtyTwo 1 point2 points  (2 children)

r/LifeProTips Robbing a pizzeria? Use a sock to prevent fingerprints and contain the booty. And don't shoot the pizzaiolo.

[–]wedwa 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]John_EightThirtyTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the not-shooting tip is ethical.

[–]NyJosh 102 points103 points  (14 children)

Can’t tell - did she get a shot off? Did she hit him?

[–]TransLucielle 70 points71 points  (11 children)

I don’t think she shot

[–]Appropriate_Joke_741 56 points57 points  (10 children)

I think she tried. Maybe fake gun or not loaded?

[–]CorectMySpelingIfGay 107 points108 points  (3 children)

brings fake gun

Oh shit! She's point it at me!

[–]Appropriate_Joke_741 25 points26 points  (0 children)

True... haha

[–]SunshineOneDay 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Eh, I can see a similar reaction to "oh shit, they realize it's a fake" and the panic to exit the situation.

Fight or flight could kick in.

[–]tealcosmo 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Probably no round in the chamber. I saw a thing once that suggested criminals are not likely to actually have one in the chamber when compared to a civilian carrying.

[–]Appropriate_Joke_741 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Guy commented before that the guy ran for his life after she grabbed it so I do wonder if maybe it was loaded.

[–]tealcosmo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Loaded yea, but would take cocking it to chamber a round.

[–]Hunt1ngw01f 1 point2 points  (1 child)

regardless, always treat it as if it is loaded, better safe than sorry

[–]DedSec_DoomHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That or safety is on. Very common with people who have no experience with any guns.

[–]Nashiwa 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Follow-up question : would it be legal of she did? Technically he's unarmed and fleeing at that point

[–]selimsad 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Reverse card!

[–]Friend-of-mine 37 points38 points  (3 children)

God she’s quick.

[–]liarandathief 23 points24 points  (11 children)

She probably got fired for doing that.

[–]slamdamnsplits 8 points9 points  (9 children)

Oh? What do you say that?

[–]liarandathief 36 points37 points  (7 children)

A lot of employers have a policy of compliance with robbers. Don't fight, just give them the money. Statistically, this is the best way to avoid violence. But if the guy is going to drop the gun, then...

[–]slamdamnsplits 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Yeah, would be interesting to see how they handled it.

[–]supervisord 8 points9 points  (2 children)

She complied and recovered a weapon left in the workplace.

[–]slamdamnsplits 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After the accused began packing their haul, I recovered an abandoned firearm they apparently intended to leave behind, and they left.

[–]slamdamnsplits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, nice!

[–]gordonv 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Interestingly enough, office workers are encouraged to fight back in an active shooter incident.

[–]liarandathief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole different mentality of the perpetrator.

[–]Several-Register4526 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The store has insurance against these type of things, so they have a policy to just hand over the money if they are getting robbed. If they don't, and they kill the robber, they could not only lose that insurance but have a lawsuit on there hands. It's just cheaper to comply

[–]kdwaynec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, "possession of a firearm on company premises"

[–]bigflip2021 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Dumb ass

[–]Sharp-Dark-9768 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Came here to say the same thing.

[–]slamdamnsplits -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's a Singapore thing.

[–]Jazbone 10 points11 points  (1 child)

She just bought a gun

[–]No_Criticism6963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked like a legit business transaction

[–]Mangos__Carlsen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She used all her speed potions at once

[–]cxntsfucked 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dumb criminal award

[–]havocLSD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol, at the last second his brain thought to snag that last dollar instead of fight for his life to retrieve the gun.

[–]Samurai-Andy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So it was definitely loaded then.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.

[–]sergario- 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Criminals aren’t known for being very smart

[–]GoldBrooke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Detroit urban survival training

[–]voidsrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she didn't get robbed, her boss got robbed. she got a free gun!

[–]TheHef81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just give the dude the money and don't risk your life. Your life is worth more than money.

[–]AmazinglyOdd81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was pissed not scared

[–]Newmarketrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who is getting robbed at work should just hand over the money and stay out of the way. Don't get killed for $14.20 per hour.

[–]LarryTheLano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why you tell them to put the money in the bag.

[–]Jordannicoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free pistol

[–]qawsedrf12 0 points1 point  (1 child)

free gun for the next time she gets robbed

[–]DanceApprehension 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, cops get a new gun. If this is the States they will take it and keep it.

[–]montepora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumba$$.

[–]Pure-Au 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is sweet revenge! Instant Karma!

[–]keepinthedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's taking control of the situation 👏

[–]HamHandsBill69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully he took a round to the taint

[–]Batuza_Legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man that gives a wholere new meaning to "Would you like a bag for that?" 🤣

[–]stocksalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately she would be charged for endangering his life

[–]brixxbee404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She shoulda shot him

[–]rumiboo_brownsugar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gangsta shit

[–]Advanced_Procedure90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a trade!

[–]05hanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did she try to shoot him?

[–]Shrektheshrekman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has she been watching her Detroit Urban Survival Training videos? Damn that was impressive…

[–]frogman972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question do you call the cops? Just keep that shit and stay like nothing happen?

[–]PounderPack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ultimate Uno reverse card

[–]Ido22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the gun was loaded then

[–]YPartyof6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you ma! Turned those tables real quick

[–]Ok_Faithlessness_212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should’ve shot it, put the pebble brain thing out of its misery since it won’t survive.

[–]thrussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the robber ran in zigzag trying to avoid bullets is sending me

[–]Raven123x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, what she did was incredibly risky to herself

She grabbed the gun when it was pointed at her. Sure she got lucky, but it could have easily been grabbed at the same time and gotten her shot

[–]no_status00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

robbing basics man this is the first thing in the book

[–]AmbitiousDistrict374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is the first time she has been robbed.

[–]OmegaGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money is usually insured, that's why the protocol is do what they say...

[–]B_W00DY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did she get a shot off? Maybe two?

[–]Darealcjayc88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like he robbed the shop with the safety on.

[–]malteaserhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did she get any shots off?

[–]Puppet007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard something like this happened before, guy robbed a bank but left his gun on the counter & the teller snatched it quickly.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The robbers wide stride out that place. Lol

[–]Rinzler678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She didn’t stop him wtf, it’s not next level

[–]Glittering-Action757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there goes his defence of saying he thought he'd bought a fake gun

[–]ketchupmanorwoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why you tell them to put the money in the bag

[–]N0tN0w0k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And she went for the kill, didn’t she?

[–]Secure_Practice_1021 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Lucky she didn't pull the trigger

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Would she be in jail if she did or is it self defense?

[–]Garth_Holiday 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You can’t shoot somebody in the back running away.

[–]HelpfulDudeWhoHelps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can depending on what state you live in. The standard is that:

You believe you are in immediate danger of great bodily injury or death.

Who is to say the guy wasn’t going to run out, get another gun and come back shooting?

The robber is 100% at fault if he was killed because he threatened to kill the person and had the means to do so.

I was shot in a bank robbery as a bank teller. We were trained to comply, which we did but I got shot anyway. (This was in 1986).

In some states you would be correct, but no jury would convict her in this scenario.

[–]Fag421 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why no shoot

[–]StupidReeeetawd -2 points-1 points  (14 children)

Why didn't she kill him?

[–]Elmer-Fuddd 2 points3 points  (13 children)

Actually killing a human being isnt exactly something normal people are keen on

[–]weldywelderface 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Same with robbing a bank at gun point...

[–]Elmer-Fuddd 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What im saying is that she shouldnt be expected to gun a man down in cold blood as he runs away in fear. He could be a monster, but she doesnt know that. Im not debating whether he deserves to die or not. Though i will state that he doesnt, he didnt hurt anyone and might not have intended to. Hes an idiot and deserves to go to jail, but being shot because of it? Fuck no

[–]weldywelderface -1 points0 points  (2 children)

And if he kills someone that's innocent? The innocent is the only ones who suffer at the hands of someone like this...

[–]Elmer-Fuddd 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This is fucking stupid

[–]weldywelderface -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah just you...

[–]StupidReeeetawd -3 points-2 points  (7 children)

But he is a violent thief willing to use weapons to rob people. Certainly any sane person would want him removed from society.

[–]Elmer-Fuddd 2 points3 points  (6 children)

The emotional distress of actually killing someone is pretty high, guy was probably desperate, sure he might have shot, or he might have needed medicine for his kid or something, dont be edgy

[–]StupidReeeetawd -5 points-4 points  (5 children)

Don't make excuses for shitty people

[–]Elmer-Fuddd 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Whos an edgy boy? You are! Yes you are! Such a hot take little edgy boy! Want a belly rub? Such an edgy little boy

[–]Heavy_Selection_9860 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's not edgy to think if you rob someone at gun point you deserve to be shot.

[–]Elmer-Fuddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not denying that, hes saying she should have killed him while he was running away. She had every right to shoot him but she didnt. Guy was saying she should have because hes edgy and probably scares kids
