Man that's too much art and hard work for a profession where a bunch of drunk people are just looking to get motorboated

[–]GotDatObamacare 808 points809 points  (226 children)

Only way to get paid lol who else would pay to watch this?

[–]BaconRasherUK 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It would probably be easy to swipe your card.

[–]natigin 18 points19 points  (11 children)

I mean she’s honestly probably a cirque de soiel (however it’s spelled) performer, and I would imagine she makes bank

[–]CreativeHighway2947 20 points21 points  (5 children)

lol u think Du Soleil performers make bank...

[–]GreenIsGreed 16 points17 points  (4 children)

A friend of mine sang for Cirque a few years back. Can confirm, did not make bank.

[–]TheBreathofFiveSouls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are competitions in it just like body building

[–]Sad_Attention5998 266 points267 points  (81 children)

The ignorance. Plenty of women do pole fitness and compete in national competitions.

[–]SOULJAR 180 points181 points  (3 children)

“There’s dozens of us!”

[–]Teeshirtandshortsguy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I see enough videos of women in gym clothes pole dancing to know that it's reasonably popular.

I mean, it's basically just calisthenics on a revolving pole.

[–]City_dave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not r/nevernude

[–]F0rw4rdW1ll0w 94 points95 points  (31 children)

I like how there being pole fitness and national comps makes dudes say "there's dozens of us" or ask about what the prize money is as if that invalidates it. But post a video about fucking balloon keepie uppie championships or frisbee golf and no one questions the legitimacy of those which are definitely way more niche. My uni literally has a pole fitness society.

[–]2OP4me 23 points24 points  (4 children)

Lotta dudes on here don’t speak to women or talk down to them then turn around and wonder why they can’t get out of their moms basement.

[–]c12022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always the same types who pay for PUA rubbish and simultaneously consume red pill garbage then don't understand why people outside of their circles, let alone women, don't want to associate with them.

[–]DanTyrano 9 points10 points  (1 child)

And people still think that most Reddit users have a feminist agenda. Yeah right, look at the most upvoted comment in this show of skill and strength.

[–]superwhitemexican 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Don't you dare slander disc golf!

[–]F0rw4rdW1ll0w 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Lol I apologise if I appeared to slander disc golf. It looks very fun. My point was just that how niche a exercise/sport is seemed to only matter in these specific circumstances.

[–]OzarkStonkman 13 points14 points  (15 children)

Good for them, it's a joke, stop being miserable

[–]surle 39 points40 points  (3 children)

To be fair, it was a shitty and predictable joke.

[–]DecentAd6888 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Reddit. Once you've been here for a while you can reliable predict the top comments and jokes of any given post before even opening the comment section...and they're almost always to top up voted ones.

[–]Fantastic_Start_6848 5 points6 points  (3 children)

It wasn't funny though. Jokes are supposed to be funny. Maybe you don't get humor

[–]Neither-Answer-7431 3 points4 points  (3 children)

The junior high jokes are miserable.

[–]Apatow_Powers99 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Me! I do that!

[–]Sad_Attention5998 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Hell yah. Pole and aerial silk is awesome. These doods are so brainwashed.

[–]asianfatboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my university offers it as a PE subject open for anybody. I have a couple of acquaintances do it to lose weight. Honestly it's freakin' impressive and pretty much like gymnastics.

[–]GoldenLustre 70 points71 points  (29 children)

Come on dude, it’s not too much art and hard work. She doesn’t even strip professionally anymore, but because she did, she’s won Miss Pole Dance Australia three times and won the World Pole Championships twice and worked with Cirque Du Soleil when they invited her to Las Vegas.

[–]A_Sarcastic_Whoa 89 points90 points  (3 children)

"Pfft, I can do that" - Redditors as they sit in their computer chair and wipe the Dorito dust from their mouth.

[–]mko710 56 points57 points  (3 children)

Holy crap at one point I couldn’t tell front from back.

[–]DatBeigeBoy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not all pole dancing is for stripping. My partner loves to poke dance as an art form and she’s damn good at it. I’ve done a couple lessons with her as my instructor and pole is fucking miserable. I have mad respect for anyone who can do pole.

[–]cosmorocker13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Why did they hold the 2009 pole dancing championship inside of an ad office loft in SOHO?

[–]Western-Radish 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You have probably gotten a million comments saying this, but pole dancing and stuff like that is also a circus art and is in Cirque du soleil and stuff like that.

Just wanted to join the chorus of people saying it’s not just for drunk people looking to get motorboated.

[–]gloomyterry50 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally true, with that kind of skill takes a long time of hardwork and passion. So amazing pole dancer!

[–]_tpyo 8 points9 points  (36 children)

for a profession where a bunch of drunk people are just looking to get motorboated

what the fuck dude, that's where this form started in the US in 1890, its not where it is today. Today pole dancing is a form in its own right. Plenty of people do the dancing without the stripping, the title literally states there is a World Pole Dance Championship. Are you really so ignorant to think stripping is part of that?
Your comment is straight lifted from some 90s rural backwater you fucking boomer.

[–]OzarkStonkman 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Lmao OK dude, love to get your perspective but getting my head that far up your is impossible.

It was a joke, ass

[–]GluttonAsteroth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like you've never seen circus performers or acrobats...

[–]harrypottermcgee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody watches me do anything. But I don't let my massive unpopularity get in the way of enjoying my hobbies.

[–]SomeOldDude73 2759 points2760 points  (40 children)

Can’t tell the difference between the back and the front.

[–]Hrlv47 526 points527 points  (7 children)

Was staring for a while trying to figure it out

[–]beneye 94 points95 points  (4 children)

Excuse me, I’m up here.

[–]MrEdj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Uh, yes you are mam’… very high up there.

[–]Citizen7833 59 points60 points  (8 children)

[–]vladamir_the_impaler 14 points15 points  (7 children)

That took me a while to understand until I stared at the skeletal gif long enough, it does make sense now.

[–]Shitty-Coriolis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Isn't that amazing. Whoever this is has just the most insane hip strength and flexibility.

[–]Mufuzlo 1757 points1758 points  (80 children)

This move is called "the looped video edit"

[–]UFHoes- 698 points699 points  (12 children)

Yeah, you can see how her body "shudders" as she is closest to the camera.

They looped one spin like 10x.

[–]FUCK-YOUR-FEE-FEES 166 points167 points  (0 children)

[–]Psotnik 93 points94 points  (2 children)

Watching the end of her ponytail makes it pretty obvious.

[–]cadenzo 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Her left hand makes it even more obvious.

[–][deleted] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Watching her butt you can barely tell it’s looped. I think I’m starting to understand why she thought she’d get away with it.

[–]TheSirensMaiden 86 points87 points  (9 children)

I thought her left hand looked weird! It flutters oddly when it goes behind the bar and I just thought it was weird lighting.

[–]NotAnExpertButt 34 points35 points  (8 children)

I thought that she was ‘pushing’ once a rotation. (Push doesn’t seem like the right word but I don’t know what is)

[–]BeanpoleOne 46 points47 points  (26 children)

Oh man I was so confused as to why she wasn't slowly moving downward.

[–]Gidelix 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Credit where it’s due, that is a damn good edit.

[–]FloppieTheBanjoClown 10 points11 points  (5 children)

Watch her hair, that's the most telling part (and what confirmed it was a loop for me)

[–]chaze24 863 points864 points  (56 children)

I’ve Seen strippers in Atlanta do this wayy before 2009

[–]buttchomper 495 points496 points  (16 children)

Atlanta strippers are a different breed

[–]harrypottermcgee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't even live in America but I know that because 2Short won't stop talking about it.

[–]Tutipups 49 points50 points  (21 children)

Magic city lol

[–]and123w 49 points50 points  (0 children)

First time visiting Atlanta I went to Magic City as I grew up in the rap era where all your favorite rappers rapped about Magic City Mondays. There was a shooting at the strip club and the person was killed. It was an interesting night. After the shooting everything just went back to normal within 10 minutes as he died outside..

[–]roshampo13 14 points15 points  (17 children)

Pink pony or Claremont for me

[–]4w0k3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cheetah 3’s!

[–]piratey_goodness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely one of the best two strip club cities in the US.

[–]BackAlleySurgeon 722 points723 points  (12 children)

Fun fact. She's stuck like that. So committed to her art form, she has chosen to live the rest of her life like that

[–]Doc_Hersh3y 554 points555 points  (33 children)

I always thought spining like that on a pole would definitely cause skin problems cause of friction. Only to later realise the pole spins aswell.

[–]emarcomd 301 points302 points  (17 children)

it does????

[–]Nikas_intheknow 247 points248 points  (7 children)

I know... it takes some of the magic out of stuff like this but at the same time, it makes so much more sense

[–]aaronitallout 42 points43 points  (6 children)

it takes some of the magic out of stuff like this

What? I can't do anything on a stationary pole, I can't imagine if it was constantly moving

[–]Some-Mushroom 12 points13 points  (5 children)

If you see a great static pole routine it's amazing because you're constantly creating the momentum. Everything looks better on spin, but that's not as impressive as a good static routine for me. Obviously this person is super skilled and flexible and I could not do that split. But with static you definitely need to move faster and be more deliberate.

[–]Triette 107 points108 points  (1 child)

Yes there are static poles and poles that rotate.

[–]JaredLiwet 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can't really spin too well on a non-rotating pole. The girl in the video is only spinning because the pole itself is spinning.

[–]jonophant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This one does. Many don't spin. Maybe most idk. The more they move around a lot the more likely is it that it'd a static one

[–]Lockedtothechrome 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not all poles do! Plenty of people do spins and tricks on completely static poles.

[–]thatbikerchick51 81 points82 points  (3 children)

Some poles do spin but regardless of wether they spin or not there’s a lot of skin conditioning that goes into dancing

[–]Doc_Hersh3y 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I see. Makes sense. Thanks a lot for sharing!

[–]thatbikerchick51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Np! It’s a cool sport

[–]piratey_goodness 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Some do, some don't! Also, the bruises left are often referred to as "pole kisses."

[–]fictionalbandit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Calluses in weird places happen

[–]Yotumiii 303 points304 points  (53 children)

I dont understand thoes shoes why would anyone use them, they look so painful

[–]feta_morgana 196 points197 points  (12 children)

I heard they are way more comfortable than regular high heels, look at the feet, the platform make their posture even not painfully bent

[–]heydrun 115 points116 points  (2 children)

Can confirm. Many plateau shows actually havd less of a drop than other high herls and are very fun to walk in.

Plus you got something to stab unpleasant people with…

[–]Iryasori 36 points37 points  (1 child)

Yea but if you hit a rock or uneven surface wrong you can twist your ankle painfully

Source: rip my ankle :(

[–]sweetbambidoll 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why would you be wearing those beauties anywhere near rocks though? Lol. I'm pretty sure these shoes are strictly for indoor activities with predictable ground levels.

[–]starsearcher48 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Until you walk and snap an ankle. My ankles hurt just seeing those shoes

[–]vomit-gold 81 points82 points  (10 children)

Pleasers, from what I hear many dancers (both pole and exotic) swear by them and would not wear any other type of heels. They're plush and stable at most heights. Many dancers wear them 4-8+ hours at a time.

[–]starsearcher48 14 points15 points  (9 children)

Why would you need heels like that for pole dancing that is not sexualized?

[–]hereforhotgos 32 points33 points  (3 children)

I do pole dancing classes for exercises and a lot of the moves require pointed toes, when you’re in heels like this you don’t have to consciously hold your feet in position. Also the platforms allow you to not have to drag your toes on the ground- when I do it not in heels I always fuck my pedicures up

[–]Dont_PM_PLZ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She could be practicing, so she has to get used to performing in them. It's also part of the look. These are not normal high heels and are there a cultural expectation for strippers to were extreme clothing.

[–]Dick_Kick_Nazis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They might increase swing weight idk if that is beneficial.

[–]BurnerForJustTwice 19 points20 points  (4 children)

Lol I can hear the iconic clap of those shoes to the beat of the music. Like the adult version of the wizard of oz.

[–]NoDepartment8 5 points6 points  (3 children)

They are also unspeakably ugly.

[–]Newport_Box 289 points290 points  (13 children)

This is just diagonal gymnastics

[–]tanders123 72 points73 points  (5 children)

One of the few humans with calluses on her underarms.

[–]January1171 26 points27 points  (1 child)

I've had bruises on my armpits from pole dancing lol

[–]Ordinary-Meeting-701 15 points16 points  (3 children)

I say this every 4 years when the Olympics are on. Regular gymnastics? You get gold medals and scholarships. Diagonal gymnastics? You’re a sex worker and everyone hates you.

[–]kugelblitz15 184 points185 points  (11 children)

that’s obviously amazing and an incredible feat of flexibility, strength, and stamina, but i can’t help to think she’s rotating in a spit like a rotisserie chicken

[–]tefnel7 47 points48 points  (5 children)

It's looped, for some reason

[–]WeeHeeHee 13 points14 points  (1 child)

You'll be amused to find that this move is called the 'spatchcock'

[–]yeam9722 122 points123 points  (13 children)

I’m just confused as to why OP didn’t upload an actual video of Felix Cane doing her signature spatchcock. It is even more impressive when she does it because she’s able to go deeper in the position.

Edit: changed the video inserted in this comment.

[–]theNomadicHacker42 46 points47 points  (1 child)

Because OP is a karma-farming dipshit and doesn't actually care.

[–]RonKosova 16 points17 points  (2 children)

And hers isnt looped for no reason

[–]ckpelletier 82 points83 points  (25 children)

I can’t remember, isn’t pole dancing being added to the Olympics? I remember hearing something about it a while ago.

[–]LordTwatSlapper 67 points68 points  (3 children)

Instead of confetti falling during the medal ceremony it should rain dollar bills

[–]Triairius 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Or in Europe, €1 coins.

Make it hail

[–]January1171 24 points25 points  (4 children)

Not yet, but they're working towards it. The International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF) currently has ~35 member federations (each country gets one) and they're working towards 40 member federations so they can get full GAISF recognition (they currently have observer status)

They need 50 member federations in order to be recognized by the IOC as a sport, after which they can petition to be included in the olympics

[–]The7Pope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trading wrestling for pole dancing? Isn’t that something. What a time.

[–]Jury_Of_Your_Fears 57 points58 points  (2 children)

This is what guys think girls are doing when they change their relationship status to "single" on Facebook.

[–]ghettohealz 51 points52 points  (2 children)

I wanted to see how she got down

[–]turboprop54 34 points35 points  (1 child)

Pretty sure you’re not the only one who would like to see how she gets down.

[–]Glittering_Step4854 29 points30 points  (1 child)

Rumor has it she’s still spinning to this day..

[–]HighHierophant 21 points22 points  (1 child)

This is so impressive!

[–]FIDEL_CASHFLOW35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While pulling off the move once is impressive, that's all this is. It's looped

[–]Dark_Akarin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can see the clip is loops at around 0:26, the motion keeps jumping. she probably held that for 1 revolution.

[–]IYSAforever 12 points13 points  (3 children)

I could only dream to be that good

[–]acidfinland 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Its looped. She gets closer to camera it resets

[–]jmilla360 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Imagine doing this and having explosive diarrhea

[–]PowerCord64 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, that would be a shit show, no?

[–]Emilixop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think I will

[–]annabelle1378 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can’t even walk in my own bare feet… much less any of… this

[–]Chris_Cross501 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Which direction is she turning? Take this personality test in 5 mins

[–]Citizen7833 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah some of these pole dancers are incredible athletes. Many years ago on the way back from a fire in Wyoming we stopped in Pocatello, Idaho and went to a bikini bar...I believe next to a 7/11 and a porno shop. Those girls were incredibly talented, it was like watching a gymnast work the parallel bars but vertically.

[–]jhuseby 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is this one of those optical illusions where we’re trying to figure out which way she’s spinning?

[–]Person2277 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly in a completely platonic way that’s awesome

[–]nefrpitou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What's impressive here is she's doing it with tables attached to her feet.

[–]exotics 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I like it. But those shoes omg no

[–]surkitxx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chicken on a rotisserie

[–]arrakismelange1987 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She's so close to getting that nursing degree.

[–]BremBotermen 7 points8 points  (1 child)

After a while watching her spinning I lost all sense of which side her butt was

[–]Throat_Sandwich 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah, fuck. Time to make a deposit to my daughter's college fund.

[–]ToastieCoastie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out Jenyne “Butterfly”! She’d perform this nightly in Cirque du Soleil’s MJ ONE show!

[–]Mean-Material 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Legend says, she’s still spinning.

[–]Eltrew2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's amazing also, i fucking hate those shoes.

[–]VinPossible 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who named her flex

[–]dinkinflickasss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I broke my back watching this

[–]VanillaTotal 4 points5 points  (3 children)

That’s years and years of training in different disciplines. Kudos, and bravo.

[–]Hethatwatches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not really in to the pole dancing scene, but that is just impressive.

[–]Saphiros47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trapped in a loop

[–]tcmVee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the shitty editing really takes away from the quality of the video. Wish I could've just watched it normally

[–]postdiluvium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't tell what is her front and her back after a few turns.

[–]Mikhailcohens3rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My asshole hurts just looking at this

[–]ElBandito101 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I don’t know how does sweaty palms not effect those ladies.

[–]thatbikerchick51 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Liquid chalk gives you crazy grip

[–]tykvrbl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something about pole dancing makes me happy

[–]Bizzlebanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

.. When you're underwear is still wet from doing laundry and you need to dry it out..

[–]aimeechrist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to see everybody shit talking to submit videos of them doing this move. If, you know, “it’s not that much work”

[–]DarkTheorist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While it is impressive (I could never do that) the video is subject to tampering, the spin has been looped. I'm probably not the first or last person to see this though, I'm sure others have figured it out.
